She smiled. "If Mr. Malik can learn it, I bet I could learn ten times faster!" She giggled. Wrapped up in the towel all snuggly and warm was a very nice feeling. "Words can be magic? How?" To her, amgic was bright lights and fantastical images. She enver thought of the bad, or the harmful, when it came to magic. "They're just words." She swung her feet a bit, refreshed and almost ready to play again. "I don't need clothes! I can just wear silks to over me, like the woman that Onyx was giving a ride too!"
Odd, he didn't expect Malik to play host, not fropm Father's stories. But he remined himself not to be judjmental, and accepted. "I do not think food has been a regular dinner guest with me lately, breakfast would be most welcome." They headed their way to the dinning room. Or rooms, however many Malik owned.

Piper only laughed at that, hugging Bode lightly as she carried the girl on her hip. "I bet you could. I bet you could get very good at it as well." Then a nod as she walked up out of the spas and upstairs. "Well...when I do magic, I use words. They..." Oh lord how to put this, "...open a door." That worked. "Magic is something in the world around you or something in you. Words can open doors to let that magic be used." Though Piper had herself another laugh at Bode. "I think you're a bit young to be dressing like that...besides, you won't stay warm and as I rememberer you hate being cold." And into her own room, where she sat Bode on the edge of the bed. "So, did you have a room here where we kept some things for you or do I have to improvise?"
Kieran remained outside a bit longer as the other two walked off, petting at Nerian before he lead the Zephyr over to Serino...Nerian wouldn't walk past the Nightmare on his own, he was too much the casual coward for that. But once again near Serino he seemed more comfortable and walked back over to the spot where he left his journal and the like, picking it up and flipping through it. Hm...he was going to need another journal if this kept up like it did.

"Doors?" She thought about opening a closet door and being able to make firworks from the stuff that poored out. "How do you see the doors, if all you have is a word?"
The cold? That's right, she didn't like being cold, not at all. "Oh yeah, I forgot." She smiled. "She looked really cold too. I told her I didn't like her."
SHe banged her heels against the bedframe. Happy in her little towel. She'd live ina towel if she ever had the chance, like a toga. "I was wearing what Mommy gave me. I don't know what imper...impro...that word means."

This girl was either really good at her questions or just oblivious to how she asked them. "The doors are invisible, but when you want to you can see them. Only people doing the magic with words can see the doors because everyone has their own door." Though Piper tilted her head at her. "And why didn't you like her?" Before she moved away to her dresser drawers, digging through her own clothes. "Improvise...it means to make something out of something else. Like if you want to use a slingshot but you don't have one, you can make one out of your fingers and something stretchy." And Piper was oh so keen on improvising.

"Invisable?" She imagined herself reaching for a closet door that ahd no door, but she could grab the handle and pull it open. "How can you be the only one to see the door?"
She crossed her arms adn pouted. "Because Gaurdian Onyx liked her." Subtle she was not. Then she perked up. "You mean like making a mountain out of a mole hill? Mommy said that alot when Daddy got upset. Was she im0per-vising too?"

Because it has your name on it and it doesn't like other people to see that it belongs to you. Sometimes people want to use your door for their own stuff. And that's just not fair now is it?" Though Piper gave a smile when Bode pouted...it was cute really. "Because she liked Onyx? Was he paying more attention to her than you?" Yes, she knew Bode loved Onyx's attention and it seemed plausible. But then she shook her head. "No, that's called exaggerating...making something worse or better than it really is. Stay here a moment." And Piper left the room, and came back a few moments later, some clothes in hand...good thing they had children in the place. For her improving part she went back to her dresser and pulled out one of her long sleeved tunics. Thus she went about dressing Bode, new boots and everything and whereas a tunic was a shirt on Piper, it was a dress on Bode. It would do till they got the girl something proper to wear. Currently she was rolling the sleeves up to Bode's wrists. "But you know, that's not a good reason to not like someone, you probably hurt her feelings."

"Guests in my home are always treated respectfully. even your father would be as a guest. Despite how much I dislike him."
Adn they went to teh dining hall, preset with dozens of trays of foods. fruits, pastries, cakes, everything that coudl be a breakfast food. Malik sat down, and started eating, without worry that the rest woudl do the same. Though he hadn't seen Onyx yet.
"Your borther here, or is he still coming? I haven't seen him yet."

"My name on it? So does everybody have their own door? Or onlt...specail people?." It was intersting, but she hardly understood it. The information was still logged away though, to be rbought up when she did understand. "He found me, but she was there. And she didn't care, and then he liked her." The best we she could explain it really. She was only a kid after all.
"Ex..agr..ate." She sounded out the word, cause she still had trouble with the long ones. "Okay, I tihnk I get it."
"Hurt her feelings?" To be hnest, she hadn't thought the other woman had any feelings. She liked the little tunic dress, cinch it with a belt and it would be cute. She wasn't sure she beleived Piper on that one...hurting the woman's feelings...
Moonstone didn't see any raw meat, so he grabbed some cooked stuff. He wasn't about to complain. He took a bite. "I do not yet know where Onyx is. He was off to look for the ship lsat I saw him. And I haven't smelled him since."

"Yes everybody has a door. Some people can't open their doors but they still have them." Well this was going nicely, Bode my not understand it completely but she at least was trying. A trip back to her dresser and then back to Bode and that improvised dress did indeed get cinched at her waist with a belt that was doubled around her. Because tunics were made to fit, not to look tailored...and frankly Piper figured that Bode didn't need any cloth to get caught on something as she ran by it. That was never fun. But she nodded as she picked Bode up once more, and left the room with her, "Anyone can get their feelings hurt. Some people just don't like to show their feelings though."

"Oh? Are their doors locked? Daddy got locked out of the house once when we went to market. He couldn't find the extra key, adn had to wait a whole day for us out on the front porch." She giggled and twirled in her new tunic dress before Piper picked her up again. She frowned. "Is it hard? Toy not cry when your sad? Or stop smiling when your happy?"

Piper merely laughed as they continued on, Bode was back in high spirits indeed. "Yes, their doors are locked. If they search enough though they can find their keys...or like your daddy they just have to wait outside." Then a nod to Bode, really the girl asked some good questions. "Yes, it's very hard. People who had learned to keep their feeling inside usually do so because they had to so they wouldn't get hurt." And thus they were down stairs and her ears picked up their voices in the dining room, where upon entering she set Bode to the floor. Seemed Onyx wasn't around yet and father was still outside...he was probably writing.

Malik saw Bode and Piper, ad gestured for them to join him and Moonstone.
"Have you seen Onyx, Bode? he hasn't shown up yet to my knowledge."
Before his attention went to Piper.
"Your father is out back still. said he had breakfast already while we were indisposed. But feel free to get a bite to eat. even got some cinnamon apples for you."
That tray got pushed towards Piper, before a slave girl, dressed much like whirlwind, came and whispered to Malik..he nodded and she left.
"Onyx is here, in the rooms to accomodate you. apparently is rather..upset at not getting his quarry."

"He would be...no doubt filling page after page of a journal or poking around at things. Indisposed? Is that what you're calling it now?" She gave a short laugh and walked over to Malik...giving the girl who came to him somewhat of a possessive look, and then looked back to Malik, draping her arms around his shoulders and nuzzling his neck. "Cinnamon apples...what is that, penance for grounding me?" One of the things she had learned to enjoy in her experimenting with cinnamon it was sort of like the filling in an apple pie, minus the pie part. She leaned against the back of Malik's chair, one hand coming up to tug at her banada...too tight...ow...Wasn't quite used to wearing it at home really, but with father around...self consciousness was poking at her.

She suddenly lit up like a rbight day. "Gaurdian Onyx is here?" She giggled and ran off in the direction fo the stairs. She didn't realize that she didn't know where the room was until she reached the top of those stairs, so she simply called out his name really load down the hallway.
"Upset?" He slumped his shoulders. "That must mean we lost the girl." While he hadn't known her, she had been a slave. And it was kind of nice to help her get out of her captivitie. Freedom lost so soon after gaining it.

The ship sailed smoothly, a single sail open pulling the ship around the bend in the coast. The Captain looked at the vessel and laughed as his crew busied themselves by painting a starnge mixture onto the hall of the ship, virtually making it indestructable, to fire anyway. "I guess that little fireball put the fear of the deep back into your souls I see."
((I just realized that the Drow from Warhammer were pirates, oops, I forgot))
Warhammer turned and looked at the captain, who was the one of the only two crew members excused from this duty. "I believe that it was the girl."
"Why do you believe that?"
"The Earth mother suggested it to me, a whisper in the tremors."
"Indeed." The captain turned to look at the rest of the crew, a mostly uniformed bunch with some very major exceptions. The four drow wizards dressed much as the other drow warriors, the mail not hindering their spellcasting in the least. The human wizard though, he wore red robes that were suposed to absorb fire. That, and being human, set him appart from the drow. He was a slave.
Jin Djinn, barely toping three feet in heigth, was the smallest member of the crew. He wore modified drow equipment, made especially for the sneaky rogue. He was a slave.
Warhammer worked feverishly, trying to out do all the other hands, as though it took him effort to do so. He was the second largest member of the crew, and probably one of the most formidable, as he was favoured by the Earth Mother, some divine being that he claims created the dark and all its denizens. HE wore a hammer on his back all the waking hours, but he rarely used it for anything. When he did remove it from its balric, Tarathiel knew something large or impressive was going to happen. The minotaur reached ten feet in height, which often placed him at a disadvantage in the tunnels of the deeper dark, so he was often left in charge of the boat, unofficially. He was a capable commander, and probably the most loyal of the captain's slaves.
Sstrl, a lizard folk from an amphibious colony, competed constantly for the captain's affections with Warhammer, he tried to do everything that he was ordered to do as efficiently and quickly as possible. He usually was a scout or an advanced infultration unit. Several years before, the pirates found his colony and threatened it with... Well, they stubled into the harbour after a mild storm and were milling about in the protective cove when Sstrl lead a contingent of his people into battle on the ship, which was probably not the biggest mistake he had ever done. All of his commrades were slain, and he was taken captive. The captain though, was quiet impressed with Sstrl's fighting and leadership. The captain had said, on more than one occassion, that if it were not Drow on that boat, the ship would be under Sstrl's flage. Sstrl adored this, for the captain did not compliment leadership lightly. Sstrl became a slave, but his city was left alone.
Aven was probably the most complex of the crew members. He was a centaur, which in its own right made him rather unique, as the underdark did not favour horses. On top of being made half horse, he was on a ship. Ships did not favour horses. But here he was, working away, competing with Warhammer as the crew's strongest member, and being the third largest member, he was the only challanger that could make Warhammer defend that position. A slave, and the most knowledgable field commander that Tarathiel had innvited onto his ship.
Tames, the King of the Kobolds, was the only person other than the captain who was not working at the moment. Tames, a kobold himself, was fairly small in stature, but was roughly three inches taller that Jin Djinn, was excused from this task. His patience would not have lasted the three or four seconds it would have taken him to spread the fine soap over the wood of the ships body, ad scrub it softly into the material. He would have kicked the bucket after his initial attempt, and raged about the ship attacking anthing that was not drow. Warhammer often found the little devil bracing his leg, trying to subplant him. he found it strange, but it was an effective defussion of the little creatures rage, as some of the other non drow, mostly the wizard, were not exactly the most endurent of races. Sstrl was surprised when the little kobold lifted him from his post, and tossed him easily into the water, over the rail on the opposite side of the ship. Of course, the captain laughed, and sent the kobold to the holding cell. Tames sat keenly on the stern of the ship looking out over the water, which as far as anyone was concerned, was productive use of his time. A slave as well.
Five slaves, and twenty five drow. A good ship.
And Levi.
