Damien wrapped his arms around her, standing slightly taller than her. He seemed to be crying on her shoulder as he said, "I'm sorry, I thought you wouldn't understand." His chains slightly clattered as his eyes changed back to their regular deep amber and he slowly drew away from Kat. "I hate humans because of my dad, nothing will probably ever change that."

Kat patted his back, feeling better that he trusted her too. "Don't apologize. I would feel the same way." she said softly. "I..I don't know if you noticed or not. But I'm not human either. So I know where you're coming from when you say you thought I wouldn't understand. Most humans don't, and that makes me hate most of them too. But, there are, just a few of them, that do understand, Damien. But I'm not going to force anything on you. Just...Don't run away from me, okay?" she asked, moving some hair out of his face, she gave a soft smile. She held out a hand to him, "Let's go for a walk. You can show me the town if you want. I really don't care what we do." she said softly.

His face turned rather red in a blush as he said "There's not much to show. Just some humans that live their lives without ever learning the truth. It's like watching a fish squirm in a bucket. I hate them all, and I have never made any exceptions. Since I can't show you the town, can I walk you home?" He slowly looked over to her, and held out his hand, hoping that she'd take it.

Kat nodded, and smiled brightly, taking his hand. "Thankyou. That would be wonderful. I know...You don't like her. But..Do you think. You would join us for dinner? I mean, I don't like salads. I actually eat meat. So after wards maybe we can eat some together. I almost lost it in the store, at the meat section. It was silly actually." she said, laughing at herself slightly. "You're the only person that...Understands me. For the first time. I'm glad I chased after you." she said softly, smiling as she waited for him to lead the way, her hand in his.

"I think it would be better if..." He took a long moment to pause and then he finally said "As long as it is okay with her." He let out a sigh as he began walking with her back to her house. He knew exactly where she lived since he had many times tried to play certain tricks on Mom, butnone seemed to prevail. Damien stopped at the front porch, and bit his bottom lip before ringing the bell. Mom came to the door and immediatley grabbed Kat in a hug. "Where were you? I missed you!" Though her happieness was short lived. She then stared over to Damien and said, "If you want drugs, we don't got any." Damien stared down at the porch and then whispered, "I don't want drugs I..." He was interrupted by Mom then saying "Then why are you here?" Damien looked up at her and said "I'm not here for drugs, I'm here for Kat." Mom became very wide eyed, and did exactly what her instincts told her to do. She put Kat inside and closed the door right in front of Damien. She looked over to Kat and said "That boy is nothing but trouble. He's tried killing more than one person. I don't want you to see you around him at all! Do you understand?"

Kat smiled at his acceptance, and she nodded, "Alright." she said, happily. "I was with Damien." she said to Mom's question. Kat was upset at her quick judgement to Damien. Before she could react, she was pulled inside and seperated from Damien. "But Mom. You don't..I...He saved my life. You don't understand him...If you're going to judge him like that then...You're judging me...Because, back at the asylum...I killed a lot of people. I was a monster." she said, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Just let him in for dinner. He isn't any trouble at all. He's just misjudged and far misunderstood. Please Mom, just give him one chance. That's it. One. And if he screws up, then I'll listen. He's a kind person, who has had a hard life. And so have I. He is my only friend. And he's the first person in this town, to actually give me a chance, and not laugh at me. Please Mom." she said, tears rolling down her cheeks. She put her hand on the doorknob. "Just let him in for dinner. That is all I want." she said softly.

Mom let out a sigh and then said "For dinner, but if he starts up one problem, he is out of here." She let Kat open the door, and Damien was slowly walking down the street. "Boy!" Mom yelled, and Damien turned and looked. She was waving him in, and he slowly began walking back. He went inside and looked around the house. It was a cozy little place. Mom had already finished the cooking and had three plates on the table. She then took out another and put some salad on it. That was when they heard a car oull up. The cheerful voice of Anny saying goodbye to Cameron, and Cameron responding with a see you tomorrow. Cameron walked into the door and called "I'm home!" He walked into the dining room to see Damien standing a couple of feet away from him. Cameron dropped his breifcase in utter shock and it cracked open, spilling it's contents all over the floor. They just stared at each other speechless.

Kat brightened up, and hugged the women she now so dearly loved. "Thankyou thankyou thankyou!" she said happily. Her eyes were glistening and glittering, sparkling and ever so brightly they were. Kat wrapped her arms around Damien again, and smiled, "I told you, that you could stay!" she said softly. Kat heard the car pull up, and at first, she didn't think anything of it, if anything, she thought Cameron of all people would accept Damien. She released Damien and went to greet Cameron, but he'd already walked in. Kat looked at his reaction confused, but was glad to brighten things up. "Cameron..Um. Damien is going to stay for supper. Oh please don't be mad. He's my new friend." she said, praying he wouldn't go all freaky. She stood beside Damien, she'd defend him, he was the only person like her, and he was her friend. "Just...Give him a chance." she said smiling weakly.

"I know Damien." Cameron said in a rather angered tone. This was the first time he had really shown this emotion around anyone. He then turned to Mom and asked, "Who let him in the house?" Mom just shook her head and said "It you want to fight then you fight outside." Cameron simply sat down at his seat, but his stare did not change from Damien. Damien sat down across from him, and for the first couple of minutes dinner was quiet. "Look I'm sorry." Damien said breaking the silence, and this seemed to infurriate Cameron. "Trying to kill me and all you can say is sorry!?" Cameron slowly got up from the table and left his napkin at his place, stormin off. Mom leaned over to Kat and said "They have a little bit of history together. I truly don't know what happened. Cameron used to work with Damien down at the rec. center, and one day Damien brought a knife and tried to kill him. Cameron almost died, and the reason he didn't fight back was because he was trying to give Damien a chance. That is why we stopped giving him chances." Damien slowly got up from the table, and now there were two plates that had been untouched and Damien stormed out the door.

Kat twitched, and was proud that Damien apologized and was hurt that Cameron didn't accept it. "Cameron! Cameron!" she called out after him, but she was jerked away from Cameron when Damien stormed out. She got up, and followed Damien. "Damien! Wait!" she called out, closing the door behind her. She took his hand into her own, pulling him back. "Damien." she said softly, looking into his eyes with her own emerald orbs she began to tear up. "Just..Don't run away. I didn't know otherwise I wouldn't have. Listen. I want you to have this." she said softly. She released his hand and she moved her hands to her neck, unclipping something. She pulled off a golden locket and placed it into his hands. "I want you to have my locket. Because that way, you'll never lose me and I'll never lose you. I'll go in and I'll talk to Cameron. I don't eat salad as you know, so come back later tonight, and I want to hang out with you. By that time, Cameron will be asleep and I don't care what he says, I'm coming with you. But right now, I need to cool him off. Please. Will you come? Promise me you'll come." she said, holding his hands in her own.

He wrapped the locket around his hand and then said "I'd wait an eternity for you." He then began to walk down the sidewalk as Cameron went back to his seat at the dinner table. He looked over to Mom and said "Of all the things, he got mad at me because I smiled. He tried to rip my mouth open with that knife, because he hated my smile. That boy needs help." He then took a bite of the salad. He slowly stared down at his food, simply toying with it and thinking. He then said "The only reason I haven't forgiven him, is because even after I stopped him, and I gave him time, he came right back at me."

Kat smiled weakly and nodded, "Thankyou." she whispered softly, before heading back inside. She went into the dining room floor and with a tear flooded face she looked at Cameron. "How can you be...So unforgiving! I mean I don't know what happened but what happened if it would've been me attacking you Cameron? He said he was sorry! Everyone makes mistakes! You care about me and I'm not even human. And every moment you know I could kill you. But you still risk it. And he just was having a simple dinner with us, and you couldn't even allow that! He doesn't need help! He just needs someone to listen to him!" she said in a tone that was slightly angery. "Even Mom gave him a second chance." she said before storming into her room, and sitting on the bed, as Jack came into her arms. She just waited for it to be dark and for Cameron to go to bed...She was not happy with him.

Mom walked into Kat's room a few moments later as she slid up beside her and said "Cameron gave him three chances, and each time he tried to kill him. you have no clue what Cameron suffered, his injuries, going to the hospital. He almost died from blood loss let alone Damien trying to stab him. Cameron just lost his trust for Damien, and if your friend sends you to the hospital, has two times of attempted murder against you and gets away with it. It's enough to break a friendship and start a rivalry." Cameron slowly leaned against the door, and listened. He could understand why Kat hated him, but he could not forgive Damien so easily. He slowly took off his shirt and walked into the room. His entire chest was covered with scars, some of them worse then others. It was somewhat of a nauseating sight. "He only aimed for my throat and heart, he had the intention of killing me." Cameron then put his shirt back on and fled from the room. He walked back to the dinner table and began clearing it. Mom then said to Kat "Cameron thought they were friends. He helped him, and would have done much anything for him, but Damien one day just came to the Rec. with a knife. You have to understand his anger, and I don't think an apoligy over dinner can change a trip to the emergency room and a near death experience." Mom then slowly got up and went to the door, trying to hold back tears as she said "Just make sure that Damien is truly who you want."

Kat listened to Mom, despite the fact that she didn't want to. She didn't want to lose Cameron, and she didn't hate him, she just was confused. She bit her lower lip but that didn't stop the tears, she looked at Cameron, his scars, and so desperately wanted to show him her own scars, but if she did, then she knew he wouldn't look at her the same way. She was glad that unlike humans she had a second layer of skin, that hid all of her scars and stitches and such. What hurt Kat the most was knowing that exact feeling of someone wanting to kill you, someone you trusted and cared for, and someone you thought felt the same way. She shuddered, shivering, but she also understood how Damien felt, feeling like he was a monster, not human. For all Cameron knew, Damien had merely lost control and just attacked him, not really knowing why. Kat had had that happen to her before, and many times, more then once, she'd lost friends, and she'd killed them in some of the sickest ways. When Mom left the room, Kat wiped away her tears and set Jack down. Her eyes fell to the ground as the second layer of skin slowly faded away. Kat looked down at her body, there were scars among scars, she even had stitches running up her arms and legs. If anyone knew what it was like to be on the brink of death, because of a friend, it was Kat. She twitched, shivering, as she ran her hands along the scars and stitches, sickening herself. Her heart was split in two, she had two people she cared for dearly, and they hated eachother. Kat ran a hand through her hair, and closed her eyes, crying softly. "I never even got an apology..." she said softly. "Cameron! Cameron come in here!" she called out. "But...Don't let Mom see! Cameron I want you to see something!" she called out, her voice ringing out through the house. She sat up straight, and let her feet hang off the side of the bed. She wanted Cameron to see that she knew what it was like. That she understood.

Cameron slowly opened up the door hearing his name called, and he then asked "What is it Kat?" He said this in a kind and worried tone as it seemed to be a little urgent. He then walked over beside her and then said "I'm sorry I made Damien leave, it must have meant alot to you when Mom let him in. I'm sorry for ruining that."
