Warren was chargened that his bag was taken away again, but couldn't do anything about it. The granuals his the water, some of them popped, some of them sparked, some of them released high pitched wistles that laste only a second. Not very dangerouse in themselves. He sighed.

"The king has connections. By law we are prohibited to use our magic to kill...directly of cours. There are loopholes. But it isn't Deep Water making the pillars."

Moonstone watched the sugar spark with curiousity, as was his way. They were quickly approuching the shore...or what might be sure. Tall, greenish blue weeds seem to sway back and forth in front of them, even though there was no wind. Through the light fog people coould be seen some hundred meteres away wading through the crop. The driver of the ferry announced that he would go no farther, and that they would have to wade to shore.

Moonstone didn't compleain, Warren didn't seem to want to get his robes wet, but implored Onyx to hold the bag above the water. It was his only bag after all.

Onyx watched the display with a look between annoyance and boredom. he was hoping for something flashy. but then the free ride stopped, and Onyx gave a look to his twin.

"Wonder what they are doing. is this the stuff they trade for?"

Gesturing to the green weed looking plantlife, before grabbing Warren without much ceremony, and pushing his bag into him.

"I'm not your luggage boy. you want it to not get wet, you can keep it above the water."

Moonstone, curious as always, was watching the people. Their skin colour varied, and really they didn't seem to have much o a standard. Like their village was made of all different races. There was somthing distinctlyelfish about them though. Pointed ears, high cheek bones, and thin but strong looking bodies.

A pair of women were harvesting, carefully cutting the blant a a bulbouse part that grew just above the water, and placeing the weeds in baskets. A few children played amoung them too.

One one smiled at them, even waved. Certainly not very frightening. "Not really a hostile welcome, eh?"

Warren was more then happy to get his bacg back, and bounced into the water without much care of getting hismelf wet now. Let the big cat be mouthy, it wouldn't get him anywhere. "You aught to be more pleasent, black one. You will end up hurting yourself with stress."

Come to think of it, Warren had pointed ears, high ckeeckbones, and looked frail but strong enough.

Warren smiled at the two women, and carried on to the shoreline, as if he knew where he was going.

"I think Warren is Purian. Perhaps that is why the king has him under sutch strickt rule."

Onyx only snapped his jaws closed as warren smarted off back at him..and moved by his brother.

"They do look rather..elven, don't they. I mean after all the elves we've been around, they certainly remind me of them. and they are by no means hostile. hell they don't even seem to be even as itimidated at that king hoped."

Then a look at Warren, who did seem to know his way around, and he noticed what his brother did as well.

"I'll wager he is too..provided he lives long enough to verify it. tell me I need to be more pleasent..and there he's been shaking in his boots and cowering like a beaten dog. I ain't teh one that needs social lessons.."

and that line of grumbling went on, while he kept a casual pace with his brother, taking a look about.

"You know..thier skin tones vary alot. some are like the Kelfs..others kinda blueish..and others more tanish. almost like an elven melting pot or something. I mean the horror stories Dad used to tell us about his past, that guy was a blue elf, wasn't he?"

Esmeralda for her part had remained silent during there trip, having not much to say about any one subject in particular. That is until she heard Onyx mention the "Blue Elf" once more. "His name was Malik and he wasn't just any elf he was a drow, used to be a nasty one, until the lady Piper well, woved the man inside the beast that he become." she said with a gentle smile, she really was a sucker for a good love story.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 27, 2005 8:17 pm

"Yeah him. a drow is what they are called? Dad usually called him a dark elf. But either way..people seem to have those kind of features here. What do you think Esmerelda? think these people are related to elves?"

Looking over to her, a flutter of wings lightly as they began to be a bit more noticed..but no one seemed very hostile. those that looked like peacekeepers gave them a bit more..guarded looks, but no one was cowering or kneeling to them as demons or godlings. they almost didn't seem very impressed at all.

"Warren! I thought your boss told us these guys were hostile and would see us as demons or godlings...does he like get his info from a village idiot or something? these people aren't even close to looking hostile."

Then a glance at Moon.

"And so far there's no fun going on. place is way too quiet. hell not even a loud arguement in a tavern or anything."

"Yeah. But for the longest time, he was evil. These people look...nothing even close to slightly paranoid."

They dressed Hiwain like, with grass skirts and more often then not no shirt. The women had flowers in their hair too, and somebody was playing a Ukeleli. It was all quite pleasent really. Warren was leading them buildings and down streets. The place was quite nice, large, flat houses none overbareing and none less grand then any other. They soon came to a place that looked ike all rest. Warren walked in without knocking.

"Why are these people elven? It's liek they ran from some place, you know an exodus? Like...slaves. If somebody enlsaved elves well, they wouldn't be picky about what kind of elf, right? i mean, some of these even look like the dark drow of the underdark, and they are...not nice elves. And look at them all....they are waving at us for goodness sake."

Moonstone frowned. Why had they been given weaopns, why was this place even suspected of being war-like?

There was of course, a lot that Warren was not telling them. The two winged cats....Onyx and Moonstone...had no idea what they had gotten themselves into now. A war was brewing, slowly but surely. Who was behind it? The King? Perhaps. But the deluded man only THOUGHT he had power. The nieve king thought that he could walk into Lostagrace and have them kneeling at his feet, because he was a grand ruler. Not so, not so. Dimitri was terrified really...that someone was plotting against him. Completely and utterly afraid that his rule would be over thrown, and the only way to secure his place was to have complete control over all of Labyrinth. The problem was that the king had never been outside his kingdom, had no idea the dangers that lurked in the underdark.

Labyrinth was...how to say it? New. A new world. Quickly formed only some three million years ago. The surface world was still very much hostile, volcanoes and tsunamis were a constant threat. eearthquakes changed the landscapes monthly, and vegitation had hardley started to grow, so oxygen was low. Mamals were evolving at a slow rate, reptiles were wuickly imerging as the dominate surface dwellers.

And Laybrinth? She was a huge place. Far larger then their meger maps could comprehend. Much larger then their frail lights could peirce.

And the poor Purians...caught in the middle.

The dark waters slapped against the cavern walls, the only warning for the ship that slipped silently past. Dragon hide sails were filled and stretched, though no wind seemed to blow through the tunnle. It was painted in pitch, making it black and unseen even by those animals who were blessed with eyesight.

Those on deck said nothing, in fact they didn't even move. The wheel was turned by some unseen hand. Still as statues they watched the light dim and fade as they passed glowing lichen.

A figure dressed in the moth-eaten garb of a captain, complete with faded and feathered hat, stood at the helm. But for some strange reason, he did not look like he was in control of the situation. Behind him, a little girl stood, tears running down her cheeks. She seemed strangley familar, and stood out in such stark contrast to the crew that she seemed to pulsate with some errie inner light.

The crew was dead. Their mission nearly completed having run into disaster. Something black dripped from the little girl's chest, and she tried uselessly to stem the flow.

"This place is too quiet, it's dull...I'd rather go back to that brawler's delight. After I go into the contest and beat the snot out of that upstart human guard."

He walked around and growled lightly at all teh happy nice and friendly people. no fights, o cross words, hell so contact sports being played that he saw. what the hell did these folks do for entertainment.

"Moon..you're the diplomat...see if you can find out how to get back to where we came from, I've had enough of this dull place already."

"Really Onyx. Give these people a chance."

Warren had finally chosen a building to go inside...which looked like all the others. Moonstone was a few steps beind in following the man though.

'Supposedly these people are dangerouse. Maybe there are just biding their time or something." HE heaved a sigh. "Besides, you need to elarn how to be patient."
PostPosted: Mon Jul 11, 2005 9:13 pm

"Patience is one of your virtues, not mine, brother."

A snort and a crossing of arms again, tapping his foot on teh ground as they waited for Warren to do whatever the blue blazes he was doing.

"And I don't like babysitting a mage."

Malik and his Nightmare emerged from teh darkness in a burst of fire and the smell of brimstone, cussing lightly. How in the nine hells had she managed to not only trip over a damned boulder, But in the process alarm and set a legion of runnyeye clan goblins on them, thus forcing a planar jump through the relams of flame and shadow, at least for him. he knew Serino could do it some way and the horse would follow him.

"You did see the large rock before you tripped over it, didn't you?"

Nevermind where they ended up looked well...rathe rlike home, but not. internal senses said they were underground, not above..but he knew slave collars when he saw them, and on humans and the like. not one elf.

Warren was not long in the hut. He had spoken with the cheiften, amd came out again. What was there for him to say? He was unsure...

He did not talk to the Onyx one..he still terrified the young mage. So it was Moonstone that he adressed.

"The Purians are not responsible for the pillars of fire. They claim to have had no contact or conflict with Deep Water in some time."

Moonstone crossed his arms. They were supposed to believe that. "You mean we cam all the way here to be "impossing and dangerous looking" to figure out what's going on...and you don't even need us?"

The tall ship pumped harmlessly into the port at Deep Water. The crew at long since turned to dust, and the little girl seemed to be free of what evils had cursed some time ago. the streets of Deep Water were quite deserted. Sometihng about a tourny...training had started.

Therefore, there was no one around when the ship came in, and the little girl was free to get off without hinderence.

Her hair was grey, her eyes were green, and she appeared very small and frail. She had a nature about her that implied that she cried alot, her eyes being large and trembly.

She looked around a moment and headed for an alley.
