I want their manager to by my Arby's Sensei.

ALSO. I PM'd you about your profile! It's great, just needs a couple minor tweaks! =]

ALSO ALSO. "It looking sick" is the number one reason to carve a dragon into anything. Let's get serious. xD

QUESTION FOR Y'ALL!!

So, in the past I have done a training period for people where I take small groups and throw them into a combat situation before they are allowed to go off on their own. This insures that they know the system and are comfortable, and can ask questions during this training session. HOWEVER, I feel it slows the start down and it bottlenecks people sometimes, and I just...I don't know, feel it doesn't work the BEST.

So, I was thinking, maybe I would do a "battle tutorial" thread where I literally have a mock battle posted up so that people can see the system in action, and I will accompany each stage with a little play-by-play so that it teaches how to use it for your own stuff.

I wasn't sure if I should just go through and do the whole battle, both sides, all myself, or if anyone wanted to actually mock up a character fight, and play the opposite side for shits. Haha. Retro, I know you're familiar with the combat system for the most part from last time, I think? I know it's been a while for Vegas, too, but you two are probably the only ones with full experience able to do it if you wanted to. Anyone can try though, if they like, and I could always teach you as we go, too. =P

Wasn't sure if this would be a helpful idea, or whatnot. But thought I would see what you guys thought.

I feel special LOL

Yeah I think it would be good to have everyone do a few rolls and feel out how the stats work, esp. skills.

I do still need the new skill points thing to be explained to me, unless i'm reading too much into it and it's still every 20 pts in a skill you get a point and you need 40 pts total for a lv 2 skill?

SO, essentially, instead of doing individual stat values, its just a simple, every 20 total points spent, you get your next level skill slot.

You start with 100 stats, so those don't count. So, lets say you spend 5 points in skill, 10 in strength, and another 5 in defense. Now you have a total of 120 points, and as such earn you first skill slot, which will be Level 1. At 140 total, you will earn your next slot, Level 2. 160, you earn Level 3, 180, level 4, 200, level 5 and so on, every 20 stat points spent.

So, you think instead of doing a single mock-battle as an example, I should do the training where we get everyone together for one big session with all the peeps participating?

OOOH okay. So ignoring the first 100 points, every 20 points after is a skill point? So 40 pts is either a lv 2 skill or 2 lv 1 skills? Im having a hard time processing because I'm having a panic attack over my insurance and bills and s**t I am dying rn I wish I was on my phone so I could put a crying smiling emoji rofl

So, you can't actually break skill slots down into smaller ones. ******** it, sure you can. It's not the best to have an assload of low-level skills over having a few better ones...but I mean...if you WANTED to make 2 level 1s out of a level 2 I would allow it. =P

But otherwise, yes, you have it down. Every 20 stat points you get your next level slot. 20 points you get level 1, 40, level 2, 60 you get level 3, 80 level 4 and so on. =]

ALSO: I'm sorry to hear about that... I know that it's insane right now, and finances are pretty much the reason I go to bed with anxiety every day. Lmao. Gotta love having 0 dollars in savings and over 30K in debt. xD Fuuuuuck this pandemic.

Okay last question I think LOL what do I do with my lv 1 skills? Write over it with a +lv one when I get a higher level?

So, that's why I did the system this way in the first place. Essentially so that your level one skills weren't worthless and sitting in your profile taking up space. The way you'd do it is essentially, when you reach 140 stat points and get your Level 2 slot, you WOULDN'T use it. But at this point, you also can't use it to upgrade the level one, because that would make a level 3, which is stronger than you can use.

BUT. When you hit 160, and you get your Level 3 slot, THEN you can take the Level 2 one you didn't use, and add it to your level 1. It just gives you 2 more levels to customize your original level 1 skill with. So it would be the same skill, you'd just upgrade it by putting more levels into it.

So, say your level 1 was an ability with Damage buff, which gives it +5% damage.

You hit your level 3 slot, and can upgrade your level 1 skill to level 3 by using the level 2. You do this, and take your two levels, put one more of them into damage, and one of them into cripple. NOW your original skill has:

Level 3
Damage +10% / -1 Defense to opponent on every successful hit. Stacks up to 5 times and lasts until the end of this battle.

And, you would be able to still use your Level 3 slot to make another Level 3 skill too.

Okay! I think I have everything in order smile I finished editing the appearance section and I have all my abilities in the right place.... I think. I couldn't figure out how to get my human trait in a separate quote in the ability list so I just have it posted under my combat ability. Let me know if I messed anything up and I will fix it pronto pirate

Nah, my G, you are 100% good to go! I'm stoked. That's four complete and ready characters already. I'm sure we will have a couple more in no time and then posting can start right up!

As for the quote inside the spoiler thing, you just highlight the text for the ability inside the spoiler and then hit the quote button up top. Or you can type:

At the start and end of the section you want in it's own little bubble, and then the same around the next technique and yadda yadda. n_n

Thanks man! I will try to remember that in the future. I'm stoked that there is already four profiles up. Looking for to posting soon. Just because I take a little longer then usual where should I be aiming to post first? I might start working on it soon just so I'm not behind.
