Withdrawing the Blade from the dummy, Koutetsu thought to himself, I wonder if I can cut this in half. Gritting his teeth he channeled chakra into the wakizashi, Steel Release: Black Metal Weapon Creation!" The blade slowly grew into a full-length Katana. Koutetsu raised the blade and gripped the hilt and pommel with both hands before slicing down into the straw dummy. Having already taken several deep cuts, the blade finally broke through cutting it in two. Koutetsu wasn't worried of course, it would be replaced shortly. Shunshin no Jutsu [ Body Flicker Technique ] Rank: D Official Description: Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. The Shinobi will appear and disappear in an instant, allowing them to retreat or attack suddenly. To facilitate the movement the Shinobi will often use nearby elements such as mist, sand or leaves to mask their appearance or disappearance. As such, an 'air' or 'feeling' will pervade the area before usage. Guild Description: See official description. Maximum of 1 mile. Further mileage requires 1 D-ranked per each mile. Shunshin no Jutsu [ Body Flicker Technique ] in any form can only be used three [3] times per battle. This technique only works in regards to transporting oneself from one place to another. This technique cannot allow someone to attack someone in a body flicker.
Chie sighed as Takumi left. She may not be the most in tune with other emotions, but she did know when she was being appeased. She sighed as she left the room and went back to her classroom. When she arrived, she saw that several of her students have left, and there was one less clone of herself in the classroom than she recalled. "Thanks for the help girls." Chie as as the two disbursed into smoke. The real Chie turned to the red headed woman who sat at a desk. She seemed a bit older for the academy days. However, age was not truly a factor. As long as a ninja had the potential to learn and to fight, they were welcomed into her classroom. As she was about to begin another boy appeared in a body flicker and apologized for being late. Chie did not realize that she had a time limit set up, but seemed appreciative at the boy's earnestness.
"Sit down next to this fine young lady and let's get you guys caught up to where the others are." Chie said as she moved to her front board. She then moved back the image board that had the description of five of the six most basic techniques. Those techniques were substitution, which allowed one to dodge an attack by switching in something to take the blow for them, transformation, which allowed them to appear as something else, the basic clone technique, which allows one to make a non-tangible clone of themselves, act of tree climbing, which allowed you to scale buildings, and act of water walking, which allowed you to walk on water. If these kids took a gander at the board then they could learn any of these techniques. After all, even if one does not begin with these techniques, they can still learn them in order to get the benefits associated with the knowledge. Once she waited for the two to gather their information, she continued.
"Now the only technique I did not write out is the genjutsu cancellation technique; or kai for short. This one I like a lot, so I'm going to demonstrate it!" She said as she rose her arms and performed the tiger handseal. Chakra flared from her body in a brief manner as it then ceased. Chie then broke her hands apart and smiled. "Basically what you do is flush chakra through your body at equal rank in order to dispel a genjutsu that you are caught in. It's not always easy to tell when you are in a genjutsu, however, so I'll have to choose effectively which one to use."
Chie purposely remained vague as she then moved to her desk and started to flip through the pages of her book. She eye something on the piece of paper before she sighed and flipped the page. Satisfaction shined on her face as she brought the book back to where she stood and held it close to her in her left hand. Her right hand pointed at the two of them as she smiled. "Now that you paid enough attention to learn Kai, you should also learn the ninja collaborative art of Korabo. It is the art of working with a partner or yourself to perform two ninjutsu at the same time in order to perform the technique with more proficiency. To perform this, both you and the other target must mold your handseals in complete synchronicity. With the last group I had the groups combine the basic clone and the transformation technique to make illusionary weapons. However, with you two..."
Chie looked down at the book and memorized the instructions. The Technique was simple for genjutsu, and Chie mostly just wanted to learn it as a good instructional tool. Plus, she wasn't usually one to learn genjutsu on her own. So learning it for the sake of her students made perfect sense! Chie performed the handseals and got her show kicking off. She also looked over the techniques of mental barricades, lapse of memory, and the false body technique. Of course, those wouldn't be used on the kids. (Sudden Gender Change Technique: D-ranked, False Body Technique: A-ranked, Mental Barricades: A-ranked, Lapse of Memory: S-ranked. All learned.)
What the two students would deal with is all of the sudden, the gender of everyone in the world changed on them. The two of them could see each other however they wanted, but they would see Chie as a beautiful bishonen boy. "So the genjutsu you both are under is called the Sudden Gender Change Technique. I'm sure you can piece together what it's doing to you." Che said. Her voice remained the same even though her appearance did not. "This technique is a little more tricky than the stuff that you two could learn on your own. In fact, there's no way for either of you to break out of it through the use of the kai technique." Chie smiled wildly. Her smile became more intense as she said, "Unless, you two work together. If you both korabo your kai techniques properly, then you will successfully break out of this genjutsu. If not, then have fun staying an academy student forever, and also enjoy seeing everyone you ever meet as the reverse gender that they identity as." Chie closed the book as she waited for the two to figure out how to overcome their new challenge.

It seemed that everyone was rushing off to the dojo, or at the very least, Sumiko had been challenged to a race, and she wasn't about to let some little snot nosed kids who hadn't even hit puberty beat her. However, just as she was about to stand up, another new shinobi entered the room. Well, entered was putting it mildly. It would be more apt to say that he simply exploded into the room in a puff of smoke near instantaneously. It would seem that I am at a bit of a disadvantage here in the jutsu knowledge department if even new students can use them, Sumiko thought to herself as she reached up to twirl a loose piece of hair before making a half-baked attempt at securing back with the rest of her hair.
The boy took a seat next to her as Chie seemed to finally turn her attention to teaching the pair of them. Chie motioned to a board full of jutsu and simply said to learn them, like thats all there was to mastering a jutsu. If I wanted to read something off a board, I coulda just went a library. Some great teaching there. On further inspection, most of the jutsu seemed very low level, and the kind of thing that someone Sumiko's age should be able to accomplish with a little bit of effort. It seemed however, that these five were not the only jutsu that would have to be learned. The pair of them also had to learn Kai, and then learn how to use it together for some reason. It wasn't till Chie was almost done speaking that Sumiko realized why.
At first, Sumiko thought that she must have had something in her eye, or that her choice to skip breakfast was having an effect on her head. Instead of Chie, there stood a Chad. And a rather sensual looking Chad at that. As Chad would go on to explain in a deep rubmling voice, this was a form of genjutsu, or illusion that swapped the genders of every person the afflicted looked at, in regards to their own mind. The only way to undo the technique cast on the pair of them would be to work together, but Sumiko wouldn't mind if they failed a few times to get some more looks at Chad. "I wouldn't mind it if you stayed like this, Chad." That little dig would probably earn her some well deserved punishment, but sometimes you just have to say it.
"Well, first things first, I should probably learn these basic jutsu, to get them out of the way. It'll probably be a pain, but tattekuso." Sumiko figured she'd start with the most useful of the three in her opinion, the clone technique. She stood up, walking into an open part of the classroom, just in case her clone turned into some kind of chakra bomb or some other crazy thing. Forming a single seal, Sumiko concentrated her chakra and focused on the instructions that had been written on the board. Almost as if it had been waiting all these years, she felt something surging through her body for a moment, focusing in on the seal. Energy flowed out of her body and in an instant, an exact replica of her appeared on either side, identical down to the last detail. The real Sumiko looked at the two copies for a moment before realizing she probably should have read everything on the board, and not just the first two steps, as she didn't have the slightest clue on how to make them go away. "You two can, uh, go away. Shooo. Begone" Somehow, that appeared enough and the clones dissipated. The rest of the techniques on the board seemed to fall in short order, being completed as quickly as the first. [5 basic bois learned]
Next on the list was kai. Sumiko dreaded changing boy-toy Chad back into Chie, but it had to be done if she wanted to pass. And one day, she could probably just use the genjutsu on herself in front of a mirror or something. The technique seemed simple enough in practice. The genjutsu was simply manipulating their own network to achieve a desired result, so quickly and violently altering your own chakra network should break you free. Sumiko began to focus her chakra, just as she would when she was about to preform a normal jutsu technique, but this time, she forced all the energy to a single point, which in her case was right between the eyes. Then, all at once, she let the chakra seemingly 'explode' from this one point and rush through her body. It felt odd at first, and the jutsu that Chad had put on them was still in effect, but she assumed that was why Chad had wanted them to practice working together, so they could both overcome it that way. [Kai learned]
Sumiko waited a moment for Koutetsu to finish learned his own jutsu before approaching him. "Alright. If this is gonna work, we do it on my countdown, got it? I'm gonna count down from three and when I say go, we hit it." Without really waiting for Koutetsu to give any kind of confirmation, she positioned herself in front of him, staring at him as she placed her hands together and began to form a small amount of chakra, just as she had done before. "Right, here goes nothing, tattekuso! 3, 2, 1, Now!" Energy surged in Sumiko for a brief moment, concentrating on her favored spot between her eyes before sending it surging through her body. She watched as Koutetsu hopefully did the same, because if he didn't, Sumiko was going to make sure his Academy career was very short, and very painful for him. She did shed a small tear at the fleeting memory of Chad. [Korabo leanred]

Takumi stood in the door of the room. True. He had stopped by the open door. His curiosity and tenacity would get the better of him. A smile broke his solmn expression. " Rogue" He said, displeased with the terminology. " Those who have no village to ally themselves with are always boxed into such...narrow minded terms." He sighed. He would cross his arms over his chest, right elbow bent to allow his thumb and index finger to caress his chin as he gathered thoughts. " I merely wish to learn how my sister is teaching her pupils." His gaze fixed on the boy. He was strong willed from what Takumi gathered. Not someone who would buy into the rank and file system the village had portrayed to him. Someone who would someday grow weary of the political power plays of village life. " Has this academy clouded the truth of life outside the villages as they do all their teachings?"
He wondered if the boy would actually have a sentient thought apart from the village's cookie cutter mold it would work its shinobi into. Takumi would be more interested in picking the mind of the boy than his manipulation at the moment.

It appeared that Takumi was somehow offended by the term 'rogue', though Shinsei viewed it only as an objective one, with no particularly positive or negative connotations attached. Rogues were merely people that did not wish to align themselves with a village, and therefore, deserted it. The leaders of nations often deserted their dying people for their own reasons, so it was no more shameful for a 'mere peon' to do so, except by the standards of the leaders who - themselves - would not adhere to them.
So, again, truthfully the title had no meaning. Takumi was no greater or worse than say... Chie. But he was, certainly, attempting to mix together flowered words in an attempt to acquire Shinsei's interest - something that was clear and evident from the half-regal way in which he spoke. It had no effect on him.
"No more narrow minded than calling a term narrow minded. It depends completely on how you use it. I have no judgments placed on that word." His eyes were not entirely fixed; they viewed other sections of the man's appearance, like his waist, viewing his equipment and tools, as well as his attire to see how 'battle-ready' he was. Surely a rogue had to be... cautious, if not entirely fearful, in such a dangerous and foreign environment.
It was odd to know that he was Chie's brother, though. Perhaps that was why he was tolerated? But then, he must have gone rogue from Uzushiogakure itself. Wasn't that punishable by death?
The Senju bit his lower lip, listening to the man's further... wonders. Wasn't he from a village? He must've known what they said. They shared dreams; the vision of the village. Why it existed. The external world was... an unknown, but whether it was clouded intentionally or not, was wholly uncertain.
"To be honest," he continued, "I haven't learned anything except . . . jutsu. Fighting techniques. This is a military academy, after all. We're here to learn how to kill. I don't expect them to teach us about the humanity of people that we're going to be killing," he said, with stoic eyes and a shallow, nonchalant shrug.
"That's how it is, though. We will never end war. So why even debate these things?"
Takumi wouldn't waste time lingering on the debate of terminology. He had indeed found an interesting academy student. The corner of his lip creased into a faint, almost unseen smile. The boy was actively inspecting Takumi, attempting to piece together an opinion, a profile of the man. When he spoke, his words were less mixed than even his subordinate, Kagami's. Shinsei's confession of his training regiment and thoughts of the futility of war.
Takumi would nod as he internalized the boy's logic. " Truthfully, I admire the tenacity my sister has with her own teachings." He sighed, expressing his conflicted feelings of her. " To teach students killing arts with passion, yet forbidding murder, even when necessary. That is the misguided judgement that leads to casualties." He shook his head, dismissing the topic. " War though. You are correct. We will never end war. That is, so long as the Daimyo are in control. The tragedy of Seizan that sparked the final battle with the UHV would have never happend had the Daimyo of Lightning not been in power, commanding forces to guard him in his palace castle. " He shook his head. He wondered how much the boy knew of the events of the past. Perhaps he was unfamiliar with the Land of Lightning, perhaps Uzushiogakure had been so sheltered by from the war that they only knew of it due to the refugees from fallen villages that flooded their streets.

Bowing to his fellow academy student, Koutetsu took his seat. Listening to the lecture and examining the notes on the board, he felt confident in his ability to learn each of the Jutsu presented. Kawarimi no jutsu seemed like an easy enough technique. Utilizing his chakra to quickly move to a different location through Shunshin was very different in theory. Focusing on a binder seemingly left behind on an empty desk, "Kawarimi no Jutsu [ Substitution Technique]," He calmly stated before he suddenly found himself sitting casually on the desk. Hopping off of the desk, he quickly looked up at the board. Genso Bunshin no jutsu? Okay I think I get it, I just got to split my chakra and project it out. Not to hard., he thought and just as he was about to begin something else occurred to him, earlier I cast one Koton: Reinforcement while wielding my blade. Combining it with a Bunshin could be an effective strategy. Drawing the blade from the scabbard at his side, He pointed the blade towards the desk he just been on, channeling his chakra so that it would hopefully create a clone seated on top of the desk. However as he channeled it through the blade, a glow seemed to appear about the blade. That didn't happen before... he thought a second too late as he had begun to project outwards. A small crescent Blade of chakra launched from the katana towards the desk and cut it in two unevenly. Flushing slightly in embarrassment, he turned back to the instructor, "I apologize for the desk. I'll be sure to read the notes a little bit more thoroughly." Koutetsu bowed to the instructor before reading the notes once more. Oh. I need to form it in an outline of myself first? That explains it. Trying it once more, "Genso Bunshin no Jutsu [ Illusion Clone Technique ]," Koutetsu said as a facsimile of himself appeared where the desk lay in ruin.
"Forge the weapon worth wielding." "Forge the weapon worth wielding."
Still a little embarrassed about his momentary misapplication of technique, he missed most of the explanation beyond the word 'Kai', before his attention was called back to his Sensei who suddenly seemed far less feminine. "Okay... Genjutsu. Got it." Putting the blade away, so that he didn't make a similar mistake. He formed the hand seal and used Kai. Satisfied ,thinking he had succeeded, Koutetsu turned to address his fellow student.
Suddenly he seemed to be face-to-face with a big bushy beard as though the somewhat attractive young woman that had been studying alongside him had suddenly been replaced by a young man who had seemingly been marooned on an isle for two decades.. He blinked once, before accepting it. "Alright. If this is gonna work, we do it on my countdown, got it? I'm gonna count down from three and when I say go, we hit it." Nodding, he followed along with her...his...okay... their countdown. 3, 2, 1."Kai!", he announced As their chakra seemed to mesh during the surge before being purged from the system. He was delighted to notice that she had returned to her normal self. Glancing at the instructor to be sure, he returned his vision back onto the young woman beside him. "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am Koutetsu."

Class Disciplines
First Class: Bukijutsu ____Juggernaut: β The user suffers no drawbacks of any kind when wearing very light and light armor at D-Rank, medium armor at C-Rank, heavy armor at B-Rank, and all other armors at A-Rank. They receive one free custom weapon or armor upon creation and gain a moderate boost to strength and fortitude. Additionally, they start with the following four techniques, rather than the six most ninja do: Bushi Ken no Jutsu [ Samurai Sabre Technique ], Shunshin no Jutsu [ Body Flicker Technique ], Kai [ Release ], and Kawarimi no Jutsu [ Substitution Technique ]. ____Mystic Hero(Mimic via Balanced Master): β You are much like a hybrid warrior, focusing on mixing ninjutsu into your personal arsenal. Through your great devotion to this path you can cast ninjutsu can cast ninjutsu up to your body rank without hand seals while wielding a weapon. These techniques maintain the same description and criteria to use and require the same amount of time to mold the chakra through the weapon as would be needed to perform hand seals, meaning the techniques are not instantaneously cast. They also cannot be molded during another attack, meaning you cannot be swinging a sword and using this discipline to charge a ninjutsu at the same time. You also gain 2 extra ninjutsu slots per rank. Second Class: Worker ____Balanced Master: β This discipline mimics one of the user's other class's non-chosen disciplines. (i.e. non-Worker Class) The Double Specialization perk for said class is not available for gaining. If the character is Double Worker Class, they may choose one discipline from any other class. In addition, any jutsu learned can be paid for with either chakra, stamina, or a mix of the two. Any further chakra types are also subject to this. Recovery amounts for chakra and stamina are doubled while working, and working counts as relaxing.

β’ Iron Lord: The user is able to give the Black Steel properties to all Doton techniques they perform, giving them the appearance of black steel upon creation. Bushi Ken no Jutsu[ Samurai Sabre Technique ] Rank: X Guild Description Bushi Ken no Jutsu is a bukijutsu technique in which the user applies chakra to their sword in order to extend it's length and sharpness. It allows allows the user to fire off the chakra from the sword in a crescent shape. Treated as spiritual when coating the blade, and then as complex when firing off the chakra crescent slash. You pay both for coating the blade and then firing the chakra off as a crescent slash. Duration is two post per rank applied. During any point of the duration you can fire it off as a crescent, but then the technique ends. Rank of the crescent slash is determined by the rank used when coating the blade in chakra. While the weapon is coated in the chakra, all simple formless techniques at the rank of the technique applied and below are treated as complex.

Genso Bunshin no Jutsu [ Illusion Clone Technique ] Rank: E Official Description: Also known simply as Bunshin no Jutsu, creates an intangible copy of the user. Since the clone itself doesn't have the ability to attack, and thus can only be used to confuse the enemy, it is mainly performed in combination with other techniques. The clones will dissipate when they come into contact with most anything else. These clones can be easily distinguished by persons with doujutsu. Even a person with normal eyes can distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones do not cast shadows and will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement ( won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc. ). Guild Description: The clone technique which all ninja start with. Creates a fragile empty-clone which cannot perform any physical task. Clones are mindless and can only follow tasks given upon creation. Rather than costing [5] chakra to perform, each clone created costs [2] chakra. Up to three (3) clones can be created per usage of this technique.

Technique Name: Korabo Technique Rank: E (Initial rank, but can be trained up to S+ based on learning restrictions) Technique Type: Passive Technique's Description: A passive which, when trained in, allows the user to fuse two techniques together into one more powerful technique. The fusion of the two techniques does not require an activation, but both techniques do. In order to fuse two techniques, both techniques need to be performed at the same time. There are a few manners of doing this, such as making shadow clones to time the technique or simply being able to fuse two ninjutsu at the same time. Korabo is the technique which allows two shinobi to fuse their techniques together. To fuse techniques, one must train a korabo bond with the person they wish to perform a dual technique with up to the rank of the technique they wish to fuse. Guild Description: The rules for fusing techniques together are as follows. The first is that the max technique you can fuse is the maximum level of korabo trained. So if you only have korabo trained up to B-ranked, then you can only fuse two B-ranked together. The second rule is that the two techniques fused vary in the potential of its power. Two techniques of equal rank fused will become a technique of power one rank higher. So two B-ranked techniques fuse to make one A-ranked technique. Furthermore, two techniques separated by one rank in power will take the rank power of the higher rank, but will eliminate any potential weaknesses of the two techniques, and give the fusion the property of overwhelming. So if a B-ranked an a C-ranked technique were fused through the use of Korabo, then the technique would be B-ranked power with the property of overwhelming to techniques of the same rank. Finally, the rules for what techniques can be fused are as followed. The first rule is that the two techniques need to fulfill the same general purpose. For example, two projectile techniques can be fused together through the use of Korabo. However, an elemental shield and projectile technique cannot be fused together. Second of all, if two techniques of the same elemental property, or the same technique performed twice, are fused then the two techniques maintain their elemental strength and weaknesses. If two techniques with differing elements are fused, then the fusion loses all elemental strength and weaknesses. Finally, techniques can only be fused of different elements so long as they are complimentary elements, aka elements which have no elemental strength or weakness against each other. The only exception is if you fuse a technique with one of one rank higher, and the technique of one rank higher is of a weaker elemental property than the element which is stronger. An example is if you wanted to fuse a C-ranked water ninjutsu with a fire ninjutsu, then the fire ninjutsu would have to be B-ranked. In this example, the jutsu would treat the B-ranked fireball as C-ranked, and thus two fused would act as a B-ranked technique. Techniques fused either have to be of the same rank, or one rank difference. Finally, despite the leaning toward ninjutsu, this technique allows one to fuse complex and spiritual tai and bukijutsu as well. For complex techniques, treat it's fusion with ninjutsu as the example with two opposing elements fusing, (aka, if you want to fuse a B-ranked complex punch with a ninjutsu, then the ninjutsu would have to be C-ranked). Medical ninjutsu can also be korabo'd, but only with other medical techniques.

Takumi was certainly an interesting man to dissect, but Shinsei's own knowledge of the outer world was... limited, and therefore, his personality - as thoughtfully as he appeared to speak - remained almost submissive to other man, unwilling to challenge his knowledge of the wars ahead of them or behind.
He had only a generalized perspective of humanity. Within that perspective, however, he was uncertain. Was it just the Daimyo? Weren't Daimyo just powerful men -- too powerful to maintain their integrity? Did mankind even have integrity in the first place? He had many... philosophical questions, but he was certain that Takumi couldn't answer them. Perhaps he thought he could, but... no one really knew.
They only guessed. Takumi's assertion that things would be better -- was a guess. One that, surely, would cost lives. His, his enemies . . . them all.
"I don't know anything about the... UHV," he said. Or the land of lightning, really, he could only add, with a silent hush of his voice. He didn't know much of history, but his family fled Konohagakure some time ago, from the crisis that occurred there. They were Senju -- great ones, at that.
They had a long history. But Shinsei... didn't even really know that. "Regardless, I... wonder why you're talking to me," he said, bluntly. "So - why? Why did you follow me here?"

Takumi would not be surprised. He has surmised as much, the children of villages outside of the five main villages had little to no concept of the UHV. The boy had clearly grown up on Uzushiogakure. Secluded from such atrocities. This would tell Takumi that his victories over their leadership would fall upon deaf ears.
The blonde man would shrug. " Perhaps it was intuition that you would have half a mind, unlike some." he would turn back to the door, deciding to abandon his pursuit of Chie's lecture notes. " Truthfully. " he began, looking over his shoulder. " Your...presence. It reminds me of myself at your age. If you ever desire to free yourself from such a place, seek me out. The Kogarashi Institute within Gimangakure is where you will find my associates and myself." With that he would turn to leave and meet with Kagami. He wondered if Taylor would be alright in the village. The boy had much he needed to discover of himself. Allowing him to stay unbothered would be the best plan for now.

The student almost laughed. Such a man - filled with cynicism, yet believing himself a revolutionary. At least, in some way. Shinsei was far from certain as to what he truly believed, but he had ascertained many platitudes of ideas. And that was where they disconnected. Right now, he didn't want anything. He didn't even really want a cause. Shinsei wanted... true freedom. The ability to feel the wind against his cheeks, always and anywhere, from the highest mountain-top or from the edge of a raging river.
From the land. From the sea. From Uzushiogakure, Arashigakure, Konohagakure... from one land to the next, bearing no true obligations but his own duty to find self-fulfillment, as all humans should. Though he had ideas, and even ideals, they were far from expressive in his current, almost infantile state. So in response to his offer, Shinsei only stared quietly, and left shortly after he did... staring at the back hand of a closed palm, eyeing the surface of his skin and the singed-like birth mark near the base of his wrist.
There was nothing special about him. His hands were still soft and he was far from dauntless. He was no killer, or warrior, or revolutionary . . . nor any safe investment. Shinsei was his own boy, entirely packaged with his own, lustful, self-serving dreams. And as a part of his whimsical moral code, and even subtle opportunism, he returned shortly after from that room to the forefront of the Academy -- and presented himself before Chie.
"Chie," he whispered, "The rogue just tried to recruit me to join his organization. I believe he wants to overthrow the Daimyo."
Was it wrong to betray a man's words? To turn trust into treason? Perhaps, or perhaps not. From the corner of his lips, he could only withhold a faint grin, pleased too entirely with himself.
