Jace was regretful with his introduction, launching into it and only realizing after that he had interrupted the person he had been questioning as he did so. Another lapse in social etiquette in such a short period of time. 'Faltering so soon after arriving, what would everyone think?' He berated himself in his thoughts with a rhetorical question. He had honestly not meant to do so. Jace was about to apologize again but hesitated, on the off chance he would interrupt the man as he did so. The yellowed eyes man seemed to pause as well, in case Jace were to begin speaking as Jace felt some embarrassment at his own actions, before he unfolded his arms and pushed away from the wall. Beginning to walk past Jace. He had finally found someone that may have a clue as to where such a shop could be and he ruined it by being impolite. Not only that, he had ruined part of his training his family had so thoroughly ingrained to him in such a short time span. He did not blame him for doing so, he may have as well were he treated in a similar manner.
Much to Jace's surprise, as he was resigning himself to having to ask someone else or give up the endeavor entirely, the man turned back to face him. Despite his careful neutral and polite facade he usually wore, genuine surprise briefly showed on his face before he covered it up and reverted to normal. Just for a brief moment, but long enough for anyone to notice. As he spoke, gesturing in a direction and agreeing to lead him so long as they avoided crowds, Jace felt a small bit of relief that he had not offended him beyond measure. He would have to come up with a way to make it up to him should the opportunity present itself. As was a result of his grooming, he could not leave a debt unsettled. It was both a weakness and sign of unworthiness if he could not deal with them sufficiently. He would then introduce himself as Tala with a small smile, as Jace was both grateful for the name and the continued friendly terms with him. Seeing him turn and begin to move away snapped Jace from his internal thoughts of making it up for him as he quickly followed after him. "I must admit I have grown a distaste for crowds as well...Past experiences with them have not been of pleasant nature. So I shall follow your lead Sir Tala." Jace would say, tone still polite but getting slightly warmer than it was earlier.
Staying close to Tala as Jace followed after him, not able to distinguish the sounds of chickens himself as the noise of the crowd was not something he was used to filtering out, he would be keeping mental notes on the path as he walked behind him. Would it truly do him any good and allow him to go from beacon along this same path? Not at all, but if he ever found himself lost and ended up here, the small familiarity may help him find his way out yet again. Jace sincerely hoped this would not be another dead end in terms of leads. If it were...he may have to move on from everything. Though, on the bright side he seemed to be on at least neutral acquaintance with this person. Seeing as he could not tell when they would be nearing this vendor, Jace felt he should at least attempt conversation. "Thank you again for guiding me, even after my rather rude behavior to which I apologize for. If you don't mind me asking, what brings you here? I would hate to unduly delay any business you may have had with my request." Jace would say, sounding a little remorseful for interrupting him earlier but with some curiosity in his tone. He avoided this area as often as he could, yet it seemed a hub for many people, and with all the shops that there were, for many different reasons. However, after asking him such a question, something caught Jace's eyes near the edge of the road. There, by a decrepit part of the market, was a sign next to an open alleyway. The sign read 'Silmar's wondrous creatures' and had a reptilian hand pointing towards the alleyway. Thinking this must be what he was looking for, the one shop he had been trying to find, he was visibly more excited. 'No one knows of it because of the area it is in and that tarp. They likely think it is no longer there.' Jace thought to himself, also noting a large tarp blowing in the wind that would noticeably cover it in the absence of such wind. Waiting for Tala's response first this time, not willing to interrupt him, he would speak once he had finished as he pointed towards it. "I cannot tell if there are chickens there, but that seems like a pet shop. I am not entirely sure however, would you please be so kind to accompany further in case it is no longer so?" Jace would ask, hoping he would say yes but he would be understanding if he refused his request. He had already asked a lot of him already and would not think less of him. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ OOC: May make him sound old...but medieval setting so he technically is? xD

Tala Maxwell ~ Market District Streets ~
Sir? Although his back was initially to the male, Tala's eyes would widen as he heard the title, briefly his mind would think back to his time with Ivar and although Jace was almost the complete opposite to the noble he'd known before - choosing to apologise rather than perhaps shrug off his comments with a smirk, the Shadowmancer would recognise similarities which would certainly ring a bell - not that he'd dwell on them.
"Most don't even see you..." Tala would mutter, biting back a growl as he was forced to grind to a halt to void colliding with one such person who appeared to step right across his path without even realising the male was there... He would let out a growl before lifting his gaze, trying to listen out for anything 'animal-like' before taking their stationary moment to glance back as Jace enquired what might just have brought him to the Marketplace that day,
"It's no problem," he would first acknowledge the male's gratitude at the Elementor's guidance, but he really didn't need to apologise - alright, he'd 'disturbed' him, but from what exactly? Watching the world pass him by? "There is no business really, I was just people-watching..." It was only after those words had left his lips, that the Shadowmancer suddenly realised he'd initially started their conversation by telling the male he was waiting for something... Perhaps he should justify himself? Would the Shifter pick up on his lie? He tried to read Jace's expression, but the male's eyes appeared to be elsewhere and Tala would turn his own gaze in an attempt at location what the Shifter might just be looking at...
"Silmar's wondrous creatures...?" He was certain the clucking of chickens had been coming from another direction, but as the tarp lifted to reveal the reptilian hand pointing towards the alleyway, the Shadowmancer narrowed his eyes. "It could easily be one of many things..." he thought quietly to himself, A Bazaar of stuffed monstrosities set up for the amusement of curious investigators, An actual store dealing in creatures of who knows what kind...or a Trap. He had many reasons to be suspicious, but having been working on his Raiment a little more, Tala was confident that if things turned out to be the latter of the three, he could at least create a blade, or perhaps a beast that could hold off the enemy until the pair had escaped...
"I don't see why not." He shrugged - perhaps the other male was expecting him to decline, but if he was honest, Tala had actually become quite curious now - and after spending more than a little of his time hanging around in the Marketplace alleyways lately he was quite surprised that this one had so far eluded him... "Come on."
With a wave, the Shadowmancer would take the lead, stepping ahead of Jace, but making sure he wasn't more than a pace behind as he wove through the crowd which thankfully seemed to thin the closer they got to the alleyway. There seemed to be a subtle sense of excitement in the Elementor as they drew closer - he was tense, but for once, it was not because he'd just swum his way through a crowd, but instead it felt almost like an adventure...

Tala Maxwell and Jace Willem ~ Market District - Market District Streets ~
As the duo would walk down the alleyway, Tala taking the lead and Jace following close behind, they would begin to notice subtle changes as they did. Whereas the entrance to the area was very rundown and decrepit, one they took the first bend in the path the walls and path seemed much more well kept. The floor itself was no longer the typical floor of the market place they had just left, but instead they were walking on a large and intricately designed carpet. The once narrow alley also widened which allowed for, if they chose to do so, the pair to walk side by side. The walls themselves where now a bright, and seemingly freshly colored, white that showed little if any sign of dirtiness to it. On the walls were a few tapestries that depicted strange creatures of varying shape and form. Even the sounds of the marketplace, once loud and overwhelming to one unaccustomed to it, seemed to lessen the further they walked down this path. While not terribly long, it did go on for quite some time. Nearing another turn, the two would be presented with a site they likely would not have expected. It seemed, hidden away, was a building that appeared to be made entirely of stone. It was not large, but it had dome like roofs and seemed to shimmer a little from what may be assumed as the glare of the sun and the bright walls surrounding it. On the very front of it, was a small sign that read: 'Silmar's wondrous creatures.'
As Tala and Jace would proceed, the way being wide enough for the two of them to enter comfortably side by side (with Jace eager to enter at finding this hidden area, his sense of caution thrown with the wind as he never developed street smarts), the light of the day was immediately replaced by a dim lighting from small candles in the room. A few braziers provided a pleasant scent, as a light layer of smoky mist covered the ground. Presumably from the braziers themselves. Pushing past a screen of beads, the two would find a solitary figure standing ahead of them. He was covered in black and white cloth, and had a thin see through veil over his mouth. Upon their entry, with a bow and a soft calm voice, he would speak. "Welcome to my shop. I am Silmar, owner of this little shop of mine. I take it you both seek a companion, else you would not have found this place, hidden away as it were. Come, we have little time if we are to find you your matches." He would say, not really waiting for a response as he took an unhurried pace deeper into his shop. Following him, they would find themselves entering a room off to the side that had sparse furniture. Merely a few bean bags and a solitary table in the center of the room with a large crystal ball on top of it. Standing to the side, Silmar would gesture for the duo to sit and close a purple curtain screen once they had to give some sense of privacy. Walking over to the lone seat opposite them he would smile.
"Please, think deeply of yourself. Not of your desires of what you think may be your ideal pet, but of yourself. It is a life bond that shall be formed today once you so choose, and I have a creature for every person. Think of yourself without bias, and touch the ball." Regardless of the ordering, once the two touched the ball after having cleared their minds of all else, each will have an image of a creature pop into their head. It would fill their minds, temporarily not allowing them to see the room itself. They would also hear a whisper from Silmar. "This is your bond. They will be faithful to you for life, if you remain faithful to them. The path to them is yours, you only need to walk it." As he spoke, his voice would continue to lessen into volume until it nearly faded away entirely with his last words. Their vision returning to them, they would find he was gone...and feel an intrinsic pull to walk a certain direction.
~*~*~
The deeper they moved into the building, the more quietly observant the Shadowmancer would become... It felt quite strange, walking through a corridor that had initially shown some form of similarity to the other buildings outside before becoming gradually more clean the with each turn they took. As they reached the carpeted area, Tala would cast a glance back - initially to ensure Jace was still there, before checking his pace as the corridor widened. With more than enough room for the pair to share the space, the Elementor would slow his stride just a fraction so they now walked together before once again taking note of the their surroundings... "Hmm..." Naturally used to exploring alone, Tala would keep his opinions to himself, but took an extra moment just to admire the tapestries they passed before continuing on - The fact the corridor seemed almost pristine compared to the other locations he'd visited before, the Shadowmancer may just have mistaken the walls to be of some grand residence had he not believed he was still in the Marketplace of Eoana.
Once they reached the end, his eyes would flick towards a small sign before lifting to regard what appeared to be rooftops shimmering in a heatwave... "We are still in Eoana, right?" he would glance towards his associate for a moment before once again stepping ahead of the pair - they still walked together, but it was clear their curiosity was leading them forward with little to no regard for what might await them on the other side...
It felt strange entering into somewhere dimly-lit after walking in what had seemed almost like bright daylight and Tala would wrinkle his nose as a curious fragrance reached his senses before flanking Jace as he pushed through a set of beaded curtains. Only a pace behind the male, the Shadowmancer's eyes would immediately fall upon the lone figure who would bow and greet them welcomingly before moving deeper into the store. With the mention of having little time to find their matches, Tala would cast a curious glance towards Jace before motioning for the male to either lead, or follow. The room they entered was far from what the male had expected, but Tala would advance when gestured - ensuring his associate was joining them before closing the purple curtain as instructed and making his way over.
It was hard to consider himself without bias, to think not of what he desired, but perhaps purely of who he was? Clearing his mind of everything but what he felt was himself, Tala would cast a final glance towards Jace before reaching out towards the crystal ball, in his mind, he saw only darkness, shadows... was this a sight of what was to come? His vision seemed to focus on this as the walls appeared to fade before a whisper prickled his skin as the man spoke once again... "...You only need to walk it..." Without thinking, the Shadowmancer would withdraw his hand, stepping past the table towards one of the curtains...although he hadn't forgotten about Jace, Tala's eyes would narrow as he felt himself drawn across the room and he would pass the male almost as though he were not there...
Jace had been lost in wonder when they traveled through the alleyway. Very quickly the scenery had changed from decrepit and run down to pristine and...elaborate at one point. The floor was replaced with carpet, and their were elaborate tapestries spread on the alleyway walls. The alleyway itself seemed to grow in size too allow them both to move side by side, as Jace noticed dimly as Tala matched pace with him so they could continue side by side. 'How could something so beautiful and well kept be so unnoticed? Surely this must be a shop of renown to have such a grand entry to it. Though they do need to fix the entrance.' Jace thought to himself with a smile. It truly felt like he was back home to see such ornate decadence for a simple alleyway. He felt like the guest of honor, even though the shop was not in sight quite yet. Reaching the end of the long and winding path, they would find themselves in front of a building that seemed out of place with the rest of the market place. It seemed entirely made of stone with domed roofs, and Jace couldn't but wonder if they could hide a building this size in an alley how many other things he had missed while being in the market place. There may an entire city hidden in this place that he did not know of, given the size of this building alone. Looking over to the small sign in front of the entrance, reading the name to confirm it was where they wanted to go even though there was nowhere else the path could lead, his eyes would meet Tala's at the same time he glanced at him. Shrugging, Jace would respond in a neutral tone. "I am unsure...But wherever we are I think I prefer it." Jace's gaze would quickly turn back to the shop entrance, noticing tala step ahead before Jace quickly followed. Not saying much else due to his feeling of awe and trying to keep up with Tala so he doesn't get distracted and spend all day staring.
As the pair entered, Jace had to blink a few times to adapt his eyes to the sudden change in lighting. He was partially tempted to try and shift his eyes temporarily but he was not sure it would help him in this instance. Eyes slowly adapting, he would begin to see a bit better into the candle lit room. And he also noticed a pleasant smell, coming from the braziers. The area itself seemed relatively sparse, but the few wall mounted hanging well elaborate. Further, the floors were covered in a thin layer of smokey mist, adding a bit of otherworldliness to the room itself. Jace like the dark and mysterious feel to it all, delighting in the presentation of it. So caught up in it, his eyes would only travel to the appearance of another individual once they began to speak, having not noticed them prior. The man, at least Jace presumed he was one, was wearing an interesting outfit with a beautiful silk over his lower face. Introducing himself as Silmar, just was immediately caught up in his urgency to move. Not really questioning how he instantly knew what they were seeking or why they had little time. Seeing Tala's curious glance, Jace would only smile in return and shrug. Excited by the show of it all. Entering the room they were told to, Jace would give a small bow and take a seat. Feeling as if he were part of an elaborate secret once the curtain was closed. To who, having not seen anyone, he was unsure.
As they sat down in this sealed off room, the only real furniture the table and crystal ball, Jace found his eyes drawn to the latter rather than their host. 'Will our fortunes be read?' He thought to himself. It all seemed wonderfully elaborate and showy, and Jace was enjoying every minute of it. He was wondering still why this shop was so unknown. With how wonderfully mysterious everything was it should be swarmed with customers. Jace was broken with his thoughts from the strange request of Silmar. Tilting his head curiously to the man as he pondered his order, Jace would try to do so. It was hard to do so, what with all the things he had just seen and the excitement in his mind. Not to mention he had the idea of a noble steed, faithful hound, or flamboyant bird as a pet in mind already. Still, the young noble tried nonetheless. Tried to empty his mind as best he could. It took a few moments of focusing, but with a final glance to Tala, he would do so as well. Immediately upon touching the ball, the room would fade away..instead replaced by the marsh near his home. He was going through it...and a vague shape caught his eye. It moved away quickly and Jace quickly chased after. Once he got near, still unable to quite make it out, he could hear Silmars voice. Soon after, he found the familiar marsh fading away...as he was back in the room with Tala...but Silmar was gone. Looking confused and curious to Tala briefly, he could feel something pulling him. As Tala took one direction, Jace felt drawn to another and followed that path.
As Jace followed the pull, he thought he was going the way he had originally come but...it seemed different now. There were now more branching hallways, closed and open doors, and the hall that led him to the crystal ball room seemed much longer than before. He found it all so strange, being told to follow the path and the man disappearing. 'Surely it would have been simpler to just lead us, if less mysterious. And where am I to find him again to pay for the creature?' Jace pondered to himself. The darkness and mist seemed to only thicken the further he traveled, and he dimly wondered if he was still in that same room in a trance. He had never felt this guiding feeling before now, it was new yet felt..almost natural. It was then that the path led him to a small alcove at which a heavily ornate yet beautiful door was placed. Feeling almost a compulsion to go to it as he got closer, sensing the object of his desire on the other side...he slowly reached his hand out and gingerly pushed the door open. A wall of mist seemed to rush out the door, spilling past Jace as he waved his hand in front of his face to try and clear it away. Coughing lightly, he kept fanning his hand in front of him till it finally settled to just being on the floor. Looking into the room, he could see it much more dark than the rest of the building...the lights seemed exclusively on small corners high up on the walls. In the far corner, he could see a brighter beam of light shining on something.
Curious as to what it may be, Jace would cautiously tread deeper into the room, casting a furtive glance here or there. Nothing seemed to move whatsoever though he could hear the sound of faint hissing and slithering all around him. Slightly unsettled, wondering what exactly had been chosen for him and only now questioning the mans motives, Jace would continue towards the brightest source of light in the far side of the room. His only real indication he wasn't just walking in circles. The further he went in, the more the sounds increased. He could almost feel the presence of whatever it was at the back of his neck. Slightly scared, and no longer caring if anyone saw him, he ran the rest of the way towards the light. Almost stumbling, and wondering how such a large room could be fit in the building he saw, he reached the other end panting and out of breath but feeling safe in the light. Taking a moment to regain his breath, he would turn to face what was in the spotlight. On a pedestal there was a large egg. Curious, having never considered an egg based animal...Jace felt a compulsion, and followed it as he reached his hand out to touch it. It felt cold and hard but...he could feel light movement in it...as he quickly recoiled his hand once the movement increased. Worried, but curious as to what may come out, he stood frozen watching as the struggles increased. It kept increasing and increasing, the egg violently shaking, till it almost burst. Shielding his eyes for but a moment, Jace would move his hands away only to see...a large writhing mass of small snakes, all coiling about one another.
Staring confused, he would jump as he heard Silmar's voice beside him and turn to see him. "You have witnessed its birth, but you have yet to claim it or form the bond. Only one snake in that pile is yours. Choose wisely, for only one is meant for you. Should you choose wrong, the rest will bite. Their venom can be fatal if untreated." As Jace's eyes widened, thinking this was insane, he would briefly glance at the snakes then back to Silmar...only to find him already gone! 'is it...really worth risking my life?' He thought to himself. Glancing back the way he came, he was dismayed to see he could no longer see the door opening...And as he glanced back at the snakes, he had the impression he would not be able to find his way out till he chose one. Taking a deep breath, and closing his eyes, he would slowly reach into the ball of snakes. He didn't know how he was supposed to tell the difference. They all felt the same, not disgusting like he thought they would, but he could feel them constantly moving and slithering, now including his hand in their motions. They all felt identical. 'How am I to discern which is my own?' He thought to himself, believing it to be an impossible task. Taking a deep, steadying breath...he began to focus. Focus on his long shunned shifter side. Focusing on the feeling he had that led him to the egg, focusing on the senses he gained when he partially shifted as a snake. Slowly, almost with a mind of its own, his hand began to pick through the snakes. Knowing which ones were not the focus or target innately, shifting through.
'This one doesn't feel right, this scent it off, this one is not colored right...' On and on, with eyes closed he found these minute differences in the snakes. Never finding the perfect one, always one detail that was off. Until he reached the very other end of the pile. There, he felt it. It was the right size, the right texture, the right amount of heads... 'Heads?' Jace thought to himself, snapping back to reality. He must be mistaken and feeling the head of another...reaching back down to the body he knew to be the right one, he gingerly pulled it out...the fear of it being wrong strangely gone from his mind. As he did...he found out he was not mistaken. And that the little snake had two heads. Staring at it incredulously, the snake stared back...well one head. The other was turning slightly and flicked its tongue towards his palm, before moving back to look at him... 'Are they...two individuals sharing the same body?' He questioned to himself. Each one would move differently and have separate focus...but if he were to move his hand in front of them they would both look in unison. Gingerly and slowly, he reached out his other hand...and slowly pet behind their head and along their bodies. The snakes did not seem to mind and merely...relaxed? He was not sure how to describe it. Looking around, he saw that where the door was once so far off to not be seen...it was not next to him. Confused, and wary, he kept the little snakes close to his chest as he walked out...and much sooner than had been his original path, found himself at the exit, only needing to step through the doorway to leave. Looking around, he had yet to see Silmar or Tala. "Sir Tala...Are you near?' Jace would call out, hoping for a response.
~*~*~
Reaching the curtain, the Shadowmancer would naturally draw it aside, Silmar's final words still somewhat resonant in his mind as he stepped beneath the veil and into what appeared to be a forest?
It was almost as though he'd stepped back into the valley where he had once resided with Baba the Witch - yet rather than lush greenery as far as the eye could see, Tala found himself surrounded by darkened trees and grass which appeared to have had the colour sucked right out of it...the only thing that seemed to have gained any colour was his hooded jacket which had now turned quite a vibrant red...Suddenly feeling the urge to glance behind, the Shadowmancer would realise to his dismay that the veil which had separated the two rooms had now disappeared and he was standing all alone in the middle of nowhere... "What the?!"
Eyes widening, Tala would turn a full circle until he faced the pathway which he had first laid eyes upon after stepping beneath the curtain... "What's going on?" It had been quite some time since he'd felt the power of a Celebrar's magic - especially as his only real memory was one he'd created after being told how he'd faced Willow back in Beginner's Combat and then been knocked unconscious by Myrddin - the Tutor at the time - after losing control of his shadowmancy and in turn threatening the safety of the other class members... Through time reading up on his peers' Raiments in the library, he had learnt that Celebrar held the power to alter the mind's perception, twisting a target's understanding of the world around them so they might panic or lose control...This had to be the only explanation for what was going on...There was no other way...right?
It had been a swift conclusion, but with everything he'd witnessed already, it was clear he was going to have to at least try to play along in order to receive what he sought - if this prize infact existed at all...? "Fine, I'll play your little game...for now." With a frown the Shadowmancer would set off, heading along the only path that was visibly laid out for him - There was still no knowing if this was just one big trap, but with no visible means of going back, his only option was to go forward and that was what he did...
What had the man's words been? The path was their's, they only needed to walk it...? Tala would ponder the whole reasoning behind Silmar's phrase as he passed tree after tree after tree - with the never ending path leading him this way and that before finally reaching a steep incline... At this point, Tala could only wonder what he would find on the other side of the hill, but took the increase of gradient as just another challenge to tackle... As he finally reached the crest of the knoll, the Elementor would take a moment to catch his breath before turning his attention to the world that now lay below him...
The illusion he had expected to see would certainly have put even the strongest of Celebrar to the test, but Tala would instead breathe a sigh of relief as his eyes found - not an intricate view, spreading for miles beyond the horizon - but a simple declining slope which would lead down to a small, grey hut in the centre of a thicket of trees... This had to be it.
Wasting little time in descending the slope, Tala would step swiftly up to the door of the hut before taking a second longer to investigate it - He'd come this far without incident, but there was nothing to say that now he'd 'found' his destination, there weren't still some nasty little tricks to tackle on the other side...
After several minutes of scrutiny, the Shadowmancer would eventually breathe a sigh and reach out to grasp the handle - He had honestly expected to find it locked or even booby-trapped but to his surprise, the door actually drew away from his hand. "Oh-kay..." With no other option but to take the long path back to where he'd first found himself in this strange little world, Tala knew his next step was through that door and so without wasting a second more, he stepped inside...
Although he knew the space clearly had walls, the choice of interior decoration made everything inside the hut as black as night and even harder to define than when he and Jace had initially left the main corridor. As he stepped inside, darkness enveloped the Elementor - much like he had witnessed in the first vision, stretching as far as the eye could see and giving the impression the room was just as endless as the forest through which he'd just walked...
As the door creaked closed behind him, anyone else at this point may just have tensed, glancing around them nervously for whatever might just leap out and gobble them up from the unseen corners, but having grown up with the shadows and also wandered for what had seemed like hours through a lifeless and lonely forest, Tala found little within the room to actually concern him - at least not until something close to a 'squeak' drew his attention towards a large, black stack across the other side of the room...
His eyes gradually adjusting to the gloom, Tala would cautiously advance towards the object, listening carefully for any further sound of movement before finding the edge of what appeared to be a bed... Wincing from where his knee had connected with the Old Oak foot board, he would place a hand down onto the surface, using it as a guide as he made his way carefully around the rest of the bed - until he was level with the pillows from which the sound appeared to be coming...
Again, something gave a squeak and then a grumble and the Shadowmancer would watch as something moved beneath the soft, dark fabrics that kept it both concealed, and warm... After a moment of observation, Tala would take a seat on the edge of the bed and carefully draw back the covers to reveal something just as dark as the fabric bunched around it...
Reaching out his left hand - albeit with some hesitation as his skin found the heat that the creature's tiny form gave off almost unbearable to touch - he would carefully curl his fingers around its furry back before bringing his other hand forward to support it as he lifted it from its nest. The little ball of rough fur let out a disgruntled squeal, flailing in the Shadowmancer's grip before tiny claws found his jacket as he drew it close to his chest.
With the world still so dark around him, Tala could only wonder what the little creature could be - the noises it was making and its general weight, his first thought was that the stranger had played a nasty trick on them and it was infact a rat - yet at the same time, he found himself contemplating how such a creature might actually prove useful if it indeed remained faithful to him like Silmar had said...
There was no telling how long he had sat there - supporting the tiny form with one hand as it curled into his jacket, whilst gently trailing the fingers of his other hand down its back, but eventually with an awareness that the day was no doubt passing him by, Tala would rise to his feet, taking a final glance around the gloom before noting a faint illumination across the other side of the room...
Like a moth to the flame, Tala would step towards the veil, taking care to bundle the little creature safely into his jacket before zipping it up and using his free hand to push the curtain aside.
It was to his great surprise that the Elementor would find himself once again in the very room which he had left perhaps only moments beforehand? In the centre of the space was the crystal ball upon which he and Jace had both placed their hands as they'd listened to Silmar's explanation, there was also that same, familiar scent that had caught at the back of his throat as they'd entered the chamber...but there was no sign of the Stranger...
He was starting to think this was just another trick by the Celebrar, but a moment later, he would hear Jace's voice and turn to face it, "I'm over here, are you alright?" although he couldn't see the male immediately, it was reassuring to hear him at least.
~*~*~
Jace felt a surge of relief as he heard Tala's voice back down into the building, and looking down he could just vaguely see where the crystal ball room would have been. Jace was confused for a moment, sure Tala had gone off to another part of the building as he had. 'Perhaps he merely returned there to search for me?' Jace thought to himself. It was the more likely of answers. Breathing a sigh of relief, he would call out again. "Yes, I am alright. I seem to have found myself at the entrance...Silmar was with me earlier but he disappeared. Are you alright?" Jace would ask, eyes scanning back to hopefully see Tala. The young shifter shifted back and forth a little, still clutching the snake to his chest for safety, in nervous energy. His experience with finding this little snake had...unsettled him a little.

"I'm gonna head for the door exit." Still uncertain as to exactly what sort of companion he'd picked up, Tala kept the little bundle safely stowed within his jacket, crossing the small room in the direction he was certain they had first entered before using his free hand - the one not keeping the tiny creature close to his chest - to draw back the beaded curtain. There was no telling if he would meet the Shifter on the other side, but as the fading light of day met his gaze, Tala would tilt his head at the sight - how long had they been in there? He wouldn't have time to think as he soon heard the sound of movement from behind and turned to meet it...
~*~*~
As the pair met once more at the entrance of the shop, they would notice the lights begin to flicker. The mist that was ever present on the ground began to raise in level, lifting all the way up to their waists. Then, a low growl could be heard in the far distance of the main hall. The mist pooling especially there...the farthest candles flickered out. Then the next set, and the next...all dying out in pairs as it slowly approached the duo until they were only illuminated by the dim light right by the door way. The growling from earlier began again as a loud crash could be heard just out of their vision, and they would begin to hear the sound of stone being scratched...and cut. Then, with a sudden crash, a large dark mass appeared at the far end. Only distinguishable from the darkness due to the disturbance of the mist...and that it was darker than the black of the hallway shadows. It remained there momentarily, suddenly letting out a loud roar which neither would have heard before as it began to charge at them. Jace stood frozen in fear at the sight, never having expected something like this to appear. His mind was in complete shock and his body was refusing to move. Realising the danger, Tala was the first to recover, grabbing the Shifter by the arm and dragging him out as he tried to escape. The mist slowed their progress, and the creature seemed unaffected as it rapidly sped towards them, but with a final push and heave, Tala launched both himself and Jace outside of the building.
Recovering from the impact - both in varying states of shock as to what had just happened, they would rise and brush themselves off - Jace with the help of Tala... It was only after they had gathered themselves that they would turn and realise they were somehow back on the main streets and that the day was nearing its end. As the colours of sunset started to fill the sky. Both would now question exactly how long had they both been in there?
Confused, but feeling Relieved, Jace would look back the way they had come - Tala did as well...only to find that the alleyway as well as the sign were gone. The only thing making him realize it had ever happened came as Jace slowly moved his hands away from his chest, showing the dual headed snake. He would take a deep steadying breath as he glanced to Tala, unsure what to make of any of this. "What...just happened...?" He asked, and though aloud, it was mostly to himself. Jace would show Tala the snake he got and tell him of how he came to acquire it. Once he was done, he asked Tala what he had obtained, Tala merely responded...
~*~*~
"I'm not quite sure...it was too dark to tell." - which was true. Unzipping his jacket now, the Shadowmancer would glance down into the gloom between his shirt and coat, momentarily lifting his gaze towards Jace who chanced a glance inside the gap before Tala zipped it back up again, "We should get back." There was no telling if Jace had been able to work out quite what the Elementor had obtained, but with a nod and if anything, a sigh of relief, the pair would say their farewells and head their separate ways through the now emptying Marketplace.

It has been a long time since Roselyn stepped away from the bakery. She did not go out to buy ingredients nor did she help make the dough or check the ovens. This time, she is trusting her employees to do the work they are supposed to do and not steal from her. She already has a good idea of what kind of money she makes on a daily basis so she will know if someone is trying to take advantage of the boss not being at the bakery. However, there is no reason for her not to trust her employees. All of them care for her just as much as she does for them. They are trustworthy and loyal. Despite this, it felt strange not being at the bakery. She is out and about in the marketplace not sure what to do. There is no dough for her hands to knead, no ovens to turn on via lighting an assortment of materials on fire, no guests to greet and converse with. Instead, she is walking about looking around awkwardly. That is until she came across some vendors that were selling fruits. What looked most delicious to her were the apples. Typically the red apples are the best in terms of flavor, but those were not the apples she was looking at. She picked up green apple and squeezed it a bit. "Firm", she thought. The man behind the vendor, someone who is a frequent guest at her bakery, began to speak with her. He planned on visiting the bakery in a few days and wondered what special she will come up with. She told him that she may try to do something she has not tried before and she intends on using the green apples from his vendor if they are able to make a deal. Excited by what she will come up with, he gave her a special discount so that she can buy a basket of apples. With these apples, along with some other ingredients she bought, she returned home to begin working on ideas with these apples.

Walking amongst the crowds of people gathering through the Markets, a small group of people had, arrived and started to spread out amongst the crowd. The markets had several of their shops still open, selling goods throughout the festival event, as well as leaving places for people to be able to sit and relax and enjoy and goods and foods they bought. But soon came the large explosion in the distance and the small group dispersed into the crowd sieging their attack against the unwitting and unaware people of Eoana. A Red Cloaked Soldier pulled a large hammer from under his cloak and started breaking through the crowds. His first target was one of the many shops that had opened, he ran inside, crushed his giant hammer upon the legs of the shopkeeper, and then set a small tube-like item on the ground and lit it. As he ran out of the shop, another explosion filled the air as the shop was blown up from the inside. A bit further down, a Red Cloaked Archer pulled her bow out and started to fire off arrows at people as they started to scatter and run. At first, everyone in her vicinity started to run from her, but then as she got closer to others, they just looked on and watched as if they couldn’t comprehend that something dangerous was going on. These poor people didn’t stand a chance, standing and watching until an arrow struck them. Some were killed instantly, others just maimed and injured as they all tried to get away. In the distance, a Black Hooded Soldier had pulled a strange looking circular weapon out of her cloak and then thrown it into the crowd. The weapon split in mid-air suddenly unraveling apart before seemingly turning into two identical copies of the weapon, splitting from one to two and then again into four. The weapons then flew into the crowd, striking several people and cutting them severely before floating in the air, merging back into one weapon, and returning to her hand. At the end of the Market leading towards the main square, a Black Hooded Rogue was running on all fours through the crowd, biting at people left and right as it charged through, roaring and clawing at the ground as the hood was pressed back by the wind.

Listening carefully as the dust settled, some of the citizens in the shop were trying to be as silent as they could while trying to hide, but it was no use, as his power welled up the Red Cloaked Soldier could hear not only their labored breath, but the sound of the dust rustling when they shifted, the sound of their cloths rustling in the breeze, and even the almost indistinguishable sound of their eyelids blinking. Pinpointing exactly where they were, he swung his hammer down at them mercilessly, smashing through tables, and even walls to get to them all. Out in the streets, the Red Cloaked Archer nonchalantly walked down the street as several people lost their edge to run. Some even got angry and charged at her with their fists pumped in the air as their sense of danger before they faded from existing. They continued to charge her, even as she pointed her bow directly at them, and squared up to shoot them in their chests. In the distance, the Black Hooded Soldier continued to mow down any citizens fleeing from the Archer, as her weapon continued to split and clone itself mid-air, and strike multiple groups before returning to its owner.

[~ @Sarai / Emma ~]
Continue his onslaught in one of the random shops nearby, the Red Cloaked Soldier crushed yet another wall, causing it to come crashing down on a hiding citizen. It seemed he had thoroughly rid the shop of all living creatures. Listening keenly, he could hear the babbling of screams coming from the further down the street, and started to make his way through the rubble of crushed shop. Out in the streets, the Red Cloaked Archer and Black Hooded Soldier were continuing their onslaught when the two noticed two women suddenly coming charging out of the tavern. It was strange to say the least, with so many people trying to run and hide, these two can charging out into the fray. Looking at each other, and then back at the two women, the two smirked lightly as the new targets would suddenly become a game to them. The Red Cloaked Archer drew two arrows, and without giving them a chance to really gauge what was happening, she fired off the two arrows, once directly at Sarai, and the other at Emma. A closer but further down the road, the Black Hooded Soldier pulled her circular weapon from its clip and suddenly launched it fiercely in the air, as it flew, the weapon suddenly cloned and mirrored itself in the air, a complete copy forming before the two shifted off in different directions. One heading directly for Sarai, the other at Emma!
[~ @Roselyn ~]
Without skipping a beat the Black Hooded Rogue would move onto the next onlooker, clawing into their flesh as they screaming, and caused an echo of other onlooker’s screams to billow out as well. It wasn’t too soon after that, one of the women in the shop suddenly tossed something at him. He batted it aside with his massive claws, causing it to splinter as he watched the woman dive out the very window he had crashed through before, it seemed she was trying to garner his attention, perhaps to try and lead him away from them. At the thought, the Rogue smirked while pulling out a wooden tube from his pack. He lit it, and then gave the girl exactly what she wanted, AFTER he threw it deeper into the shop, he followed her out the window before shifting back into the strange twisted canine he had before, and charging at her. As it followed quickly, the clicking of its claws hitting the ground, the bakery in the background would explode, the sounds of the remaining citizens within screaming as the few survivors clamored to get out, just as the shifter pounced at Roselyn.

Sarai is finally outside of the tavern and on the streets where all the action is happening. Many locations on the streets have endured a lot of destruction and there are already too many casualties. She should have been here earlier. If she were out here, perhaps she could have prevented more deaths and destruction. However, now is not the time to think about the what ifs. She is here and she has to quickly determine who is responsible for this and take them down. Her eyes scanned the area, and when she found two shady looking figures, one of them fired two arrows. One arrow is aimed at her, and the other for Emma. She did not hesitate to jump towards Emma and tackle her to the ground to keep them both safe from the arrows. She got up quickly and drew her sword to prepare herself what the next attack will be. The other warrior, the Black Hooded Soldier, throw an odd circular weapon at her. However, the weapon seemed to split into two, or rather clone itself. One of them is heading for her, and the other Emma. Sarai used her blade to deflect both circular weapons to keep herself both Emma and herself safe from harm.
"Its not safe here Emma! Get yourself out of here and leave these two to me!"
Roselyn escaped her bakery and is currently on the run hoping that the Black Hooded Rogue is following her and leaving everyone at her bakery alone so they have a chance to escape. She looked back for a moment to check if he is following her, and he is...but she also saw her bakery explode. He had planted an explosive in her bakery before leaving. Whoever did not escape her bakery either died from the explosion or the bakery. Roselyn did not have time to think about those who just died or those who managed to escape. Her own life is in danger and she has no reliable weapon to defend herself. All she has is an ax that she used to chop firewood. That probably is not going to help her all that much, but it is better than not carrying a weapon. If only she had a bow and arrow. As quick as she is running, it is clear that her attacker is going to attack her soon. She looked back and saw that he was trying to pounce her. She jumped to her right, hopefully managing to get out of the way of his attack. If she did, then she will get back up as quick as she could and keep running towards someone, anyone who can help her.
"Help! Somebody help me!!"

Emma had hardly stepped out of the Tavern and gotten a look around her before Sarai was literally tackling her to the ground to prevent her from being attacked. Screaming in alarm, she clung to Sarai for a moment before her lover jumped up and unsheathed her sword. Part of her was inclined to listen to Sarai, but if she left that would mean that Sarai would have to face two enemies alone. She didn’t have to be a soldier to know that those odds were not in Sarai’s favor. Getting up off the ground, she opened her mouth to protest only to catch sight of Roselyn, the baker, running toward them. She was being chased by some type of shifter!
“Roselyn!” Gesturing towards her, she opened the door to the tavern, so Roselyn could rush inside. “Sarai, when I say, hold your breath!” Emma hissed low so only Sarai could hear. While Emma wasn’t a fighter, the least she could do was use her raiment to give the enemies a run for their money…
The moment Roselyn was inside the safety of the Tavern, Emma turned toward the three enemies. She trusted Sarai to handle the physical projectiles which meant that Emma could concentrate on trying to even the odds. Summoning up the power of her raiment, Emma waited until she was certain that she would have the most effect. Swallowing hard, she looked to Sarai.
“Sarai, NOW!” Without a second’s hesitation, Emma unleashed the power of her raiment. As she did so, a sensual aroma spread through the area, caught by the autumn breeze. Anyone who breathed it in, would immediately feel abject fear dominating their senses. They would be powerless to ignore the sensation or the effect. While some might be able to resist, the effects would still take hold of them, at least for a short amount of time. Fear, potent and pure, was something everyone had felt and for the next fifteen minutes, anyone who had breathed in the pheromones she’d released in that moment would be subject to its control. If Sarai didn’t breathe in while the pheromones lingered before being diluted and swept away on the breeze, she would keep a clear head and have an advantage over her enemies.
None of them were ready for what came next. As they readied themselves to attack again, nocking their arrows and readying their weapons and claws, suddenly one of the women screamed out, and the air filled with a strange fragrant smell. Almost immediately all of them started to feel a strange sensation. The first of them to get the full force of her power was the Black Hooded Rogue. The hyena was charging at Roselyn catching up with every step and was just about to pounce on her when the pheromones hit. Next thing he was yelping like a wounded dog, and scurrying as fast as he could to run away from the scene. Without knowing why, he ran as fast as he could, completely leaving the district as he yelped and fled. The next to feel the effects were the Black Cloaked Soldier and the Black Hooded Soldier. As they neared the group, him pulling his hammer onto his shoulder, and her catching her weapon after it returned to her after Sarai’s block, she caught it and licked her lips before getting ready to throw it again as he smirked and readied himself to launch forward. But once the pheromones hit, they too felt a wash of fear strike at them, and they quickly backed away, watching the woman in front of them carefully as they quickly retreated. The last to be affected was the Red Cloaked Archer. Noting that Sarai dove forward to protect Emma, she narrowed her eyes when her arrows missed she watched as Emma seemingly used her power, she didn’t see anything happen, but then her teammates suddenly started to pick up and run one by one. Getting annoyed and angry at this, the Red Cloaked Archer nocked another arrow before building up her power, and releasing her raiment like a wave of energy at both Sarai and Emma, trying to encompass them both. Both Sarai and Emma would start to feel a strange sensation in them, suddenly starting to lose the ability to feel fear or self-preservation. As if nothing could hurt them, or at least the possibility of something being able to harm them falling out of their realm of comprehension. She then fired off another arrow, directly at Emma before the influx of Emma’s pheromones started to take hold, and she started to feel true fear build up inside of her, once it became too much, the Archer would also retreat, cursing under her breath as she quickly ran and tried to find a place where she could feel safe.

Sarai is not in a good position. She has to face two warriors. The Black Hooded Soldier is someone she has a better chance against because they have to fight one on one. However, the Red Cloaked Archer is the one that is the bigger threat since she can strike from a long distance. The other problem is Emma. They already saw Sarai protecting her from the arrows and the throwable circular weapon. They are sure to keep attacking her if it means distracting Sarai and keeping the upper hand. Emma has to run away. Far enough so that the soldier and the archer will attack only Sarai. It still will not be easy for her to fight against two foes at once, but at least she will not have to worry about Emma's safety. Then she heard someone calling out for help. A woman carrying an ax is running towards them with someone chasing her down. If Sarai could move forward to try and save the ax carrying woman, she would. However, the soldier and the archer are in the way. Her head turned when Emma told her to hold her breath when she tells her to. What is she up to? If it will give her some kind of advantage, she will take it. The ax carrying woman kept running as fast as she could, trying to get away from her pursuer. As soon as Emma shouted "NOW!", Sarai inhaled deeply and held her breath. Whatever Emma did, which Sarai can assume that it was her raiment, it caused two out of the three attackers to flee. She has to make sure that she does not breath until Emma stops using her raiment. The archer is the only one left, and even though it still leaves the lieutenant at a slight disadvantage, she only has one foe to face. Without wasting any more time, she held her sword tightly and started running towards the archer. In the midst of her charging towards the charging, something within Sarai began to change. She had to defeat this archer no matter what the cost. Despite the fact that the archer has her arrow ready to fire, she did not stop running towards her. Even after the arrow was released by the bow, she did not stop running. She continued to pursue the archer until she lost sight of her. The one thing she found strange was that the archer missed Sarai despite being an easy target. Maybe Sarai made her nervous...or she was not aiming at her at all. After sheathing her sword, Sarai began making her way back towards the tavern to check for survivors in the area, particularly the woman with the ax who was running for dear life.
""
Even though Roselyn is running as fast as she could, she cannot dodge the black hooded rogue forever. In his current form, he will catch up to her in seconds and will most likely rip her to shreds. There is a sliver of hope for her. If she can run long and fast enough to reach to what appeared to be an Eoana guard and Emma, then perhaps she will live through this. Somehow she managed to get to Emma and get inside the tavern. It was after she made it inside that something strange started to happen. She could see it from the window. The rogue ran away as if he were afraid. The same happened for the soldier, leaving only the red-cloaked archer. The Eoana should be able to handle that archer. It is what they trained for, unlike this baker. Still...to witness the destruction of her bakery and all the lives that were lost...it is overwhelming. She could not bring herself to finish watching this battle. Instead, inside the safety of the tavern, she hid underneath a table, put her hands to her face and began sobbing.

It gave Emma immense satisfaction to see the surrounding enemies turn tail and run – literally in the hyena shifter’s case. To know that she had successfully warded off the attack and protected not only herself, but Sarai and Roselyn as well, was a wonderful feeling. But as she looked around her, she spotted the archer and felt a small spike of anxiety move through her – anxiety that seemingly vanished from one point to the next. It was the oddest sensation to experience, but there was no explanation for it.
Before Emma could really contemplate it more, Sarai dashed forward to confront the archer, who had only just moved to retreat. As she watched, the archer knocked an arrow and let it fly. Unable to feel fear or panic, Emma could only watch as the arrow shot through the air directly at her. Even if she could have felt true fear, she knew she wouldn’t have been able to evade the shot. The arrow struck true, embedding itself just below her clavicle. Crying out in pain, Emma stumbled back, her feet shuffling lightly until they hit the lip of the doorway leading into the tavern.
Falling back with a scream, she slammed onto the floor, her hand upon the arrow shaft. Crying, she felt not only the pain but also that it was getting harder to breathe. “Sarai…” She breathed, her voice barely above a whisper as her blood began to seep down the front of her dress, staining the fabric a deep crimson. Emma heard crying close by, but she couldn’t comprehend who it might be, as her own pain was all that she could focus on in those moments.
Sarai's search for survivors has not been successful. All she found was dead bodies. How did the invaders orchestrate this attack? She can only imagine that other areas have been affected, all of them suffering from varying degrees of death and destruction. She should be feeling for these victims and anyone who has managed to survive...but she can't. It is weird, but right now she is focused on finding survivors and other guards who have been fighting. Her ears heard crying, but who and where did it came from? She stepped up from walking to jogging toward where she heard the sound of crying. This led Sarai to the tavern, where she saw the tavern doors open and a body close to the doors. The body is none other than Emma. When she saw this, she immediately ran toward her to see what was wrong. Part of her clothes was stained with blood, and the source came from the arrow pierced slightly below her clavicle. The 2nd lieutenant is concerned for Emma, but she is not expressing it well. She is keeping calm as she is thinking the correct course of action to help her. Taking out the arrow without having anything that will stop the bleeding and prevent infection could be dangerous. The safer option right now is to leave the arrow where it is until she can find a doctor who can take care of her. However, the pain that Emma is feeling must be unbearable and she is not sure if the danger has truly passed. Carrying her back into the tavern is the best course of action as a start.
"I am going to carry you into your room. I make no promises that this won't hurt. Just try your best to bear with the pain and take deep breaths. We will have to leave the arrow in there until we either get a doctor who can remove it without causing further damage."
The first thing Sarai did was close the doors of the tavern. Then, as gently as she could, lifted Emma off the ground. Surely the injured brunette will be gasping and wincing as a result of the pain, but she has to hang in there for the time being. Sarai will definitely have to thank her immensely for doing what she did once all this is over. Without her raiment, the guard did not stand that much of a chance against two to three assailants. Once Sarai had lifted Emma off the ground, she began walking to her room.
﴾.I am a strong woman. My strength is not my muscles Nor is it my skills But the heart of a warrior within. 2ND|LIEUTANENT﴿
It was the oddest thing, to feel pain but not fear. She knew that a wound like this was dangerous and given the fact that it was difficult to breath? Not a good sign…As Sarai came rushing into the tavern, kneeling at her side, she could tell that her love was concerned, but not fearful. Was she affected by whatever was affecting her as well?
Emma really didn’t want to move, but Sarai was more experienced with things like this than she was. Nodding a little, she braced herself for the moment when Sarai lifted her off the ground. Despite being exceedingly gentle, Emma whimpered in pain, her face contorting into a mask of agony. Eyes squeezed shut, she tried not to shift as Sarai carried her. As time passed, Emma felt her sense of fear slowly creep back into her senses. Biting her lip, she gripped the edge of Sarai’s breastplate, just below the neck.
By the time Sarai reached the stairs, Emma was crying and sobbing in pain. “No…no…don’t take me upstairs…put me down, Sarai, please…” Given the attack and all that was going on, it was likely that a doctor or a healer wouldn’t be able to come to them. No, the wounded would have to seek out aid… “We…We have to find the healers…there’ll be…a lot of wounded…” She gasped and whispered, struggling to breathe normally. Given the pain and the position of the arrow, it was possible that her lung had been pierced, which meant big trouble for her if they didn’t find help fast.
Passing through the streets, fro one district to the next, Gerot continued on carrying his target on his shoulders. He couldn’t pass through even half as quickly than on his own, but it mattered not, he would reach the harbor all in due time. In the meantime, the next part of their plan would come into fruition, as the Grey Hooded Archer followed lightly, she continued to swing the whistle which echoed out through the entire district. It was a very brief appearance, and as they passed through the streets and reached the edge, they disappeared just as quickly as they had come.
