AlthIndor So, I feel like asking about space travel. What kind of mechanics does this RP use for space travel? FTL? Warp drive, hyper drive, jump drive, jump gates? Star maps? Sublight speeds? Want me to write up anything else for my species / planets? We're going to use the open space thread for travel, although the mechanics will be up to those that own their ship. I would like people to be creative, and maybe certain models can only warp drive.
You have more than enough for your species/planets. ^^ If you want to add anything, feel free to. Also, if you would like to add any locations, feel free to as well.

So there are no set physics on how faster than light travel works (as a fundamental law of the universe)? You know what I mean, right? Like how Star Trek has warp drive, where you can travel from any point A to point B along a linear path,
But Independence War has capsule drive, which only works at specific jump points and requires multiple jumps through many systems to get to your final destination,
And EVE Online uses jump gates, which are fixed structures linking adjacent systems, which aren't mounted on ships? (And also warp drive for intrasystem transit.) Oh, I feel like I can write forever, like it's all I've been doing for the past few months! xD

I think it'll be more like Star Trek for more expensive models and Guardians of the Galaxy/Treasure Planet for cheaper ships. Star Trek is obviously the fastest, whereas Treasure Planet and Guardians of the Galaxy can take days to get to a location. Like, you know how more expensive models of cars drive faster than the cheaper models? Kinda like that.
I know what the jump gates are now. XD They have them in Fiesta Online. Final Fantasy XIV has this thing with the crystals you can teleport to but it's more expensive than riding a chocobo to your location-- which obviously takes a little while longer.
And I think it would be nice to have the occasional conflict whenever people are in the Open Space thread, obviously they wont be able to 1-post run with that. (Unless there's no one in the thread, still haven't worked that one out. XD)
