The library was quiet, peaceful but Victor knew from his first year worth of experience in Hogwarts that it wouldn't stay that way. The school year started, and the only people who would be spending time here so early were the overachievers, which were the majority Ravenclaw, or just those who enjoyed reading a good book. Sometimes curious wizards would stumble in here early in the year, those wizards who heard a rumor, or got struck with a case of the curious during the summer break but had no way of finding a answer and eagerly awaited the start of the school year so that they could pick the halls of Hogwarts library for answers. The last category were just those who seeked shelter in the library because it was a quiet place, even if it was full of students cramming later in the school year. Victor belonged to the second category and was searching for a book about Pogrebin, some apparent demon creature that haunted people. During the summer break he had spent a night over at Wilbur French's house because Wilbur had a birthday and invited a bunch of his fellow 2nd year Gryffindor's to stay the night. During which, they all shared ghost stories and Wilbur told this eerie tale of being haunted by this thing called a Pogrebin. Some of the kids argued that it didn't exist, but Wilbur protested that it did and Victor backed him. Eventually a wager was made between the side that didn't think it was real and the side that did on if the creature existed or not and the group had put down lots of various wizarding sweets as the wager. Victor could always use more sweets so he took it upon himself to do the research required to prove that this thing existed.

Victor probably didn't look out of place in the library, he and his brother Edgar always looked bookish with their straight black hair and glasses. Even the freckles that dotted their cheeks seemed to add to the bookish quiet archetype and growing up, the two of them seemed to fit into it rather snuggly. It wasn't until the end of their first year at Hogwarts that big differences between the twins began to show. They always had their minor differences, Victor feeling like he was always the more outgoing of the two and his brother being somewhat frail. Where as Edgar's mind always seemed some place else, Victor was always more grounded and more engaged and better at dealing with other people, but despite those differences the two of them spent all of their time together before coming to Hogwarts. They slept in bunk beds, and most of the time they'd forgo the bunk beds and just sleep in the same bed together, taking turns reading fairytales to each other or just making up stories of their own. Edgar was always better with his stories, his mind more creative in Victors opinion. The two spent almost all day with each other, doing the same thing, and going the same places. People would always comment that they two were joined at the hip, and both of them had admitted to each other that they enjoyed the confusion they caused to people who couldn't tell the two of them apart. But even people who knew them since birth still had issues telling which one was Edgar and which was Victor, and there was several occasions when the two willingly swapped places just to see if they could get away with it. So it was no wonder that it was a great shock to the both of them when they got sorted into different houses at Hogwarts. Both of them even pleaded with teachers, claiming that the sorting hat was incorrect in its decision to separate the two. Victor remembered how much of a shock it was to, for the first time in his life, be separated from his twin and every minute they spent apart felt empty, like a part of his soul was missing. But that great chasm closed over time, and for Victor it closed faster than his brother. Victor sensed that for Edgar, that wound never quite healed even if they still spent much of their free time at Hogwarts together.

Victor closed the book in his palms closed with a loud thump, and with the closing of his book his reflecting on their 1st year of Hogwarts closed too. Victor knew that both he and his brother were becoming their own separate people, and the prospect was both thrilling and scary. Victor for one, was gaining interest in other people, making friends, playing sports, and growing into a more sociable person... and girls.. Victor found himself becoming more curious about the opposite sex. As far as he knew, Edgar didn't show any interest in girls.. just books and whimsical things but with the coming of this year and another birthday passed, Victor has gone from calling girls weird, and to actually talking to them. Again Victor shook his head to shake all the thoughts from his mind, it wasn't useful to dwell on the past, or on what the future might bring. He knew that he and his brother would continue to drift apart, but no matter how far they drifted he would always be closer to Edgar than anyone else. He couldn't help but feel concerned about how well Edgar would fit in. At least he could protect his brother from some things, like Slytherin or other students picking on him. Victor slipped the book back into the bookshelf, it didn't have anything useful in it so he'd have to look in another book for answers.

Victor abandoned this section of books and began to walk about the library. He didn't see anyone lurking about that he recognized, but his friends in Gryffindor didn't hang out here, and surprisingly enough, Edgar wasn't here either.. His brother was probably in the Hufflepuff commons room, a place that Edgar talks about a lot and was obviously one of his brothers favorite places. Victor turned past another shelf of books and up ahead was some red headed girl who was walking with a pile of books that was perhaps a few too many books to carry. Victor didn't recognize her, especially from behind but judged the girl as a new first year and he honestly didn't pay much attention to the first years during the sorting ceremony. He clapped when everyone else did, and welcomed the first years, but he was now a 2nd year and had more important things to do than act shy and nervous about being the new kid on the block. Victor wouldn't have even paid her any mind except just as he was about to turn away towards another bookshelf one of the books she was balancing slipped from her pile and flopped to the floor. Victor stopped, turned and walked over. He raised his hand in greetings, but his lips never rose in a smile. Neither he nor his brother smiled much, something that bothered their parents, but Victor always felt unnatural faking a smile. If he was truly happy or laughing and having fun he smiled loads, but if he didn't smile just for the sake of doing it. "Looks like you could use some help." he greeted, bending over and picking the book up off the floor, closing it and turning it over to read the title, mentally noting it. He was taller than this girl, but again he suspected she was a first year. Instead of putting the book back on her overburdened arms, he nodded over towards a nearby reading table that was accompanied by a big comfortable chair. The table had a magical lighted lamp hovering above it too, so it would provide plenty of light to read by. Victor didn't wait for her to reply as he walked over to the table and plopped the book down.

Elsie had managed to find a wide assortment of books, and she was eager to read them all. At first she was browsing each title carefully, and sticking them under her arm. By the time she had six books, she had them held by her left arm against her chest and she kept browsing. By the time she had twelve books, Elsie was realizing she might need to set them down. But, all these amazing things to read! The London library had NOTHING compared to this library. Elsie was thinking as she was walking then she felt a book sliding from under her arm. Panicked she started searching for a table when the book fell with a thunk. Turning, Elsie faced a new dilemma. A dark haired boy spoke to her. He was a Griffindor with freckles, glasses and light eyes. She just stood there dumbfounded while he scooped up the book for her then pointed to a nearby table bringing the book there. Elsie had thought she was used to boys, but the ones she had known were all brothers or friends of her neighbors. And all of them were rather scruffy looking. Either covered in soot from odd jobs around town, or mud from playing around the alleyways. They were rather stupid, with jokes that made no sense, and they always teased her for her wild side. The other boys she knew had been worse. Bullies and brutes who picked on others for laughs. Made them ugly in Elsie's eyes. None were like the boy before her. Or the boys she watched in flying class. Color rose to her cheeks before she thanked him softly. She tried desperately to keep the rest of books in her arms while she walked to the table. She already made a proper fool out of herself, no need to make it worse. Usually when she had this many books she would dump them in a chair and sort them later. But with this boy watching, Elsie tried her best to gently place them on the table. For the first time, she was thankful she had been told how to be more lady like. Even if she had ignored the advice, she knew what to do. Though, she was not really good at being graceful, she tried to not rush at least. Reminding herself to calm down and not do anything stupid while she made sure the pile of books stayed on the table. The pile of books ranged from Hogwarts a history, to books on wizarding law. On the table already was the book, curses and counter-curses. Once her arms were free, and the pile of books before her were not at risk of falling again Elsie glanced at the boy. “Um, thanks again...” She said then she wiped her hands against her robe a few times to dry them. Holding the books had made her hands sweaty. She then extended her right hand as she said, “I'm Elsie Nicholias.” She held her shyness and insecurities as she eyed the boy wondering if he wanted to chat at all or be on his way.

The moment Edgar had arrived back at the Hufflepuff dormitories, he headed to his room and dropped off his bag by the chair then heavily flopped on his bed. Today had been exhausting, though he did not want to admit it to anyone. He had finally put some rumors to bed last year, no need to bring them back this year. Some of his classmates had assumed he was sickly, or frail for much of the first year. Simply because he napped often, and was rarely seen. In fact, this morning after breakfast he used his free period to nap some more. Rolling on his bed, Edgar paused while he processed what he had learned today. His first day back had been rather nice. Probably because it lacked the panic of being a first year, the first time he was separated from his twin brother Victor. His friend Tabitha had saved a seat for him in every class they had. With her friend Sally right behind them. He had learned Sally was going to be in his art class, next monday, and she promised she would save him a seat. He had been surprised by that, and realized she thought of him as a friend. That did explain the letter she sent during the summer. He had responded to the handful of letters he received, but denied Tabitha's request for him to visit. It had been his mother's birthday and they did something as a family. He had wanted to invite Tabitha to visit, but had chickened out instead and said he would see her at school soon. He did not know why, but it felt weird to say he wanted to see her. His parents might jump to conclusions, or maybe even Tabitha herself. So, he was glad she greeted him with a smile at dinner last night. Saved him a seat while the first years were gathering to be sorted. As he thought about his first year, and wonder about what awaited him this new year, Edgar found himself falling asleep.

He woke well into the afternoon; his groggy brain was trying to make sense of where he was. Ah, he realized. Sitting up, Edgar yawned and stretched. Wondering what he should do now. It was not near dinner time, not yet. Maybe he could get some things done. Instead of going back to sleep. He rolled over to the side of his bed, picking up a list of things he had wanted to research once they came back to Hogwarts. He wrote it over the summer, rather excited to learn about new things. With a sigh he heaved himself out of bed. He finally had some free time, and had no plans with his brother until dinner. The library was also a great place to hide out when the common room got too crowded, like during quidditch season, or holidays where they stayed at Hogwarts. Nodding to himself, he left the second year boy's dorm room and headed to the common room. His thoughts kept him from noticing his housemates, so he did not notice when a strange wild first year came over. He did, however blink in surprise when she stole his glasses and tried them on. He must have looked completely shocked and was unsure if he spoke or not but the girl said nothing. He needed his glasses to see properly so everything became a blur the moment they left his eyes; he could not even remember what the girl looked like aside from the wild dark hair. While he was trying to think of what to say, his thoughts drifted towards the wonder of how others would have handled this situation. He never, in his life, expected this to happen. Would someone else have yelled at her? Shoved her away? He briefly also wondered, Why me. It seemed he was often handed weird scenarios and had little clue how to handle them. Before he could think of a proper response, the glasses had been returned as the strange girl said nope. Clarity returned and Edgar noted the girl had brown eyes as she walked off in an odd fashion. She seemed rather odd... Edgar noted, glancing at the girl's friend who was mortified by the situation. He gave a small shrug then headed to the barrels, making his way up and out of the Hufflepuff dormitories. He would have to remember to avoid that girl. Cute or not, she seemed like someone to stay away from.

Walking towards the library, Edgar did not notice some who waved to him, nor did he hear people call his name. Tabitha was a friendly girl, and had introduced him to practically every first year before winter break. He was horrible at remembering names, or paying attention to people. But he could spot a strange creature crawling in the grass while everyone around him talked. He found it odd people remembered him. He rarely talked, or did anything important. Even when the teacher called on him for answers in class he spoke softly. So it was odd so many people knew his name. He knew the house colors and patch on his robes gave clue to which twin was which. But Victor was more outgoing. Victor was more memorable. And Edgar was fine with that. More than fine. In fact, Edgar was damn proud of his brother. Although, wistful of their past. Before school, reflecting on how they have changed in the past year.

Edgar's thoughts stayed with him as he mindlessly walked to the library, knowing the route quite well. He did, however, blink in surprise when he found himself at the doors, earlier than expected. He must have been walking faster than he thought. Shrugging he entered the second floor entrance, browsing through some of the books to try finding what he was wanting. He read the titles with a quick glance, then moved on. By the time he went downstairs he had four books in his arms; the spines of each book hidden against himself. He had been interrupted twice. Once, by a friend of Tabitha; a name he could not quite remember and was afraid to ask. A second year from Ravenclaw, a girl that had blue eyes and long blonde hair. She asked about his summer, and bragged about a trip she went with her parents. A trip to America, to visit her aunt. His comments were quiet and often one word. But she did not seem to notice, or care. She eventually spotted someone else and waved, saying it was great talking to him and she would see him later. Then she was gone, leaving Edgar somewhat confused. He shrugged it off then browsed the books again, only to be interrupted by hearing a voice he knew. Victor was in the library. He realized, and forgot this list of books he wanted, immediately following the direction of sound to locate his brother.

"Why draw after we finish when I can do it now..." Fawn protested but relented. Gina seemed very focused on her homework, and Fawn knew that she too, must eventually come to the crushing reality that these things were important, like the weight of a thousand lakes pressing upon her shoulders, she knew she'd eventually drown in the flood of homework.... but not right now! Fawn took her charms book from the pile and opened it up to the first chapter they were to read and then put the book to the side. Next she placed the defense against the dark arts book down and got it to the chapter on Doxies. At first Fawn thought this was going to be easy since Gina was willingly telling her what she was writing and Fawn was just copying, but with a glare, Fawn realized that Gina was onto her and more cunning than first thought. Fawn didn't get through all the essay, but got enough done that she knew that between now and next class she'd be able to finish most or all of it and soon her mind began to choose other things to focus on, causing her to shift about and fidget, which led her on her crusade to find some glasses which was ultimately pointless since the boy with glasses didn't have the kind that gave her good vision, so she was forced to put them back and return.

Fawn smiled, still laying on her side and looking up at Gina when the girl suggested they go take a walk. That sounded like a positively wonderful idea, one that she could easily get behind and it was WAY better than doing homework. Fawn popped up, springing from a prone position to standing in a matter of a second, shooting up like a firework. "Yes, that sounds good. If my legs don't start moving soon they'll turn into stone and then I'll be stuck here forever." Fawn didn't even pack up her things as she turned, her robes flowing about her and settling as she began to walk towards barrels that acted as the entrance way to the Hufflepuff common rooms. She stopped and turned briefly to see that Gina was still at the table, gathering up their things. "Just leave them! They won't go anywhere while were gone!" she shouted from across the commons room and then left, without waiting for Gina. Fawn hiked up her robes and crawled into the barrel. If there was any sort of record on how fast a person could crawl from one side of the barrels to the otherside, Fawn probably just now destroyed that record as she hurriedly scurried out of the common room. As she got to the end of the barrel she got her feet under her, hunched now and then sprung out feet first, landing with her arms up in the air. "Streeettttchhhh" she shouted as she did indeed stretch. Fawn impatiently tapped her foot against the floor for about 5 seconds, waiting for Gina but the girl didn't show up so Fawn figured she'd just go on without her and figured Gina would catch up. Fawn didn't waste anytime as she started through the hufflepuff dunegons towards the stairs that would lead up to the main floor of Hogwarts. She hummed loudly as she walked, but wasn't humming any specific tune, just random things. She passed by several other older hufflepuffs but none of them paid her any attention. Before she knew it she was at the stone steps leading up, and much to her dismay, Gina was still nowhere in sight. Fawn threw her arms up into the air and plopped down on the first step. She hiked her knees up to her chest and rested her chin on them as she rocked left to right, waiting.

Gina paused, not sure she had an answer for that, but she remembered something her big brother had told her. "What you put off now, will be more work later." She found herself saying. Though, she only wanted to get the work done so she did not have to worry about it later. It was similar, I guess. She thought while she glanced at Fawn then went back to her reading.

Gina was impressed by how easily Fawn got up, unsure if she could mimic such a move. With a wry smile, she said, "I highly doubt you will turn to stone, Fawn." Though, Gina found herself looking forward to the walk. She started gathering their items and saw that Fawn was abandoning her belongings. She just did not feel right taking up a table when they were not even there, so Gina packed up all the stuff and quickly brought them up to the dorm. She noticed the looks from her housemates, all of them friendly, though some obviously questioned her choice in friends. When she had returned to the common room, she saw Fawn had gone on without her. Oh dear... Gina thought, hoping Fawn would not get into trouble on her own. She was tempted to ask others if they saw where the wild haired Fawn went, but she saw people were busy. Reading, talking or just hanging out and relaxing after their first day of classes. Not wanting to bother them, Gina headed towards the exit. Maybe she waited for me. Gina realized as she left the common room. Fawn was not out by the barrels, nor was she in the hallway. Gina did not think she had been gone that long but apparently it was long enough for Fawn to get to the stairs leading out of the dungeon. There Fawn sat, chomping at the air as she claimed she were a troll. What an odd child. Gina thought a moment before she headed up the stairs. "Want to go back outside? Or explore the castle a bit?" She asked, once again letting Fawn lead their journey. Gina was ok with a random fun adventure.

Victor extended his own hand and gave the girl a polite shake as he too introduced himself. “My name is VictorThorton, it is nice to meet you.” Victor kept the introduction, and handshake short, the this, this Elsie, seemed to be nervous but the same could be true to every new first year student at Hogwarts having to introduce themselves to students who are their senior. Next came small talk, something that Victor was more accomplished at than his brother, and he turned to the pile of books on the table, and thumbed through some of the volumes. Wizarding law? A Children's Anthology of Monsters?, Lizard Claws From Africa, Owl Breeds, Terrible Tales of the Totemtomulus?, Most Macabre Monstrocities?!, History and Mysteries, A look at Wand lore.., Ploppers and Potions: the Palpable Compendium of Ponderific Potions… and other titles ranging from other topics sat in a stack. This wasn’t your average first year reading.. and even the most scholarly of witches and wizards would have their head spinning left right and the other if tried to remember so much information all at once. Victor knew that Ravenclaw was king of the brains, but this first year must be some sort of academic prodigy..

”That’s.. quite the collection of reading you’ve got there.. Definitely a Ravenclaw, that’s for sure.” Victor stated with slight amusement, part bewilderment. Obviously he wasn’t going to talk about wizard things to someone who already seems to be three years above his level.. and this was just a first year too. Victor wasn’t honestly sure how to approach someone that was so obviously intelligent and focused on excelling at school, but luckily a conversation starter had materialized for him as he sensed the presence of his brother off behind him. The two of them often did that, as if they were bound by some unseen rope that connected the two, and the closer they were the easier it was for Victor to tell when his brother was nearby. ”I was just about to mention that I have a twin brother, since people periodically run into him and mistake him for me.. it just helps to warn them beforehand but it seems he’s already here.” Victor informed, then leaned in to whisper quietly ”He spends a lot of his time in here, so I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot of him.”. Victor didn’t really try to whisper quietly enough so that Edgar wouldn’t hear, since what he was saying was true, he just wanted to warn this Elsie that if she could potentially run into him but making it seem like he was giving her inside information as a friend.

Victor walked over to his brother and gave him a wave, and then walked behind him and put his hands on Edgars shoulders, leading him away from the bookshelf he was shadowed behind and out where this new girl could clearly see him. And sure enough, they were almost perfectly identical. Of course, those who knew them very well could tell the differences, especially in expression. Edgar always had that far off look in his eyes and Victor seemed more attentive ”See? Look exactly alike. Two peas of the same pod, mother always said.. Elsie, this is my brother Edgar. Edgar, this is Elsie Nicholias, a first year Ravencla.. Nicholias. That name sounds familiar.” Victor paused as some recollections bounced about his head.. it was recent, like a few days recent… and then it suddenly came to him. NICHOLIAS, that was the name of the new Care for Magical Creatures teacher that some of the older kids were talking about and whispering about. Things seemed to make sense now.. this Elsie was the daughter of a professor, so of course she’d be super smart and from what Victor has heard, this Professor Nicholais was nobody to joke around with. Reynold, a third year in Gryffndor had commented that the man has eyes of a predator and one glare was all it could take to silence you and others have mirrored that the professor had this air of shadyness to him, like he was dangerous. Victor was glad he didn’t have to deal with that man just yet and the last thing he wanted to do was get on his bad side by saying something rude to his first year daughter. ”So.. your dad is a professor.. huh. I bet he’s really strict when it comes to school work?.. Not.. that, that is any of my business..” Victor coughed to cover up his awkwardness. He was supposed to be the one that was good at conversation and making friends, but now he seemed to be dissecting every word coming out of his mouth as not to offend the daughter of a professor..

Victor eh? “It's nice to meet you too...” Elsie said, trying to keep to the manners her first school taught her for four years. When her hand was returned, she tried to not fidget or slide them in her new robe; so she kept them at her side and reminded herself to not draw attention to herself. She blushed slightly when he read the titles, her blush deepened when he commented. She had gotten ahead of herself in her excitement in reading so many new books. Anytime she had gone to the library in London, Markelm had always told Elsie to not go overboard. They only went once in a while and Markelm took the books back for her when they were due. Elsie loved reading at night, and with her ability to read most books quickly, she often finished a book a night. She had overheard some comments about her House, Ravenclaw. This boy's comment made her wonder what was so different about the four houses. She glanced at the symbol on his robes and saw he was from Gryffindor. “You're a Gryffindor, right?” She asked curiously, maybe he would know about the different houses. He was not a first year, she saw them all today; and he was not there. She may not know all their names, but she had glanced at their faces when she could.

She was not sure what to say next but he spoke again, thankfully breaking any awkward silence. She was surprised he had a twin, more because she had never seen a twin before. Oh, she knew of them; heard and read stories about them. She just never saw them. They were rare after all. And, one of them liked to read! Elsie thought, excited to hear that bit of information. She would have to take care to not behave like a ninny around these older boys. She watched as Victor had vanished a moment behind a bookshelf then returned with his twin; a boy who nervously fidgeted with his fingers before he waved awkwardly; mutely saying hello when he was introduced. At first glance, Elsie could see how anyone would be confused but she noticed a few differences and realized that Edgar was in another house. He also had his hair a bit differently, and seemed to not talk very much. Elsie was about to say nice to meet you when Victor repeated her last name in a ponder. Oh... She realized. Remembering Markelm's speech about being a daughter of a professor now. She would have to try and act different around others. How the hell am I supposed to do that. Elsie thought quite frustrated. Did these twins go to Markelm's class? She realized that could be a possibility. Would they mention anything she said to him? Would they be mean to her if he was a harsh teacher? Her head now whirling with thoughts while she realized Victor was connecting the dots.

Sheepishly Elsie nodded, she was the daughter of a professor. Victor sounded almost uneasy when he asked about schoolwork so Elie had a moment of realization. They could be afraid of Markelm. Maybe that fear would extend to her. Maybe she could get people to do her favors, in hopes of getting on Markelm's good side. She could have a little fun with this.

Ta, Professor Markelm can get rather cross about Schoolwork. I would not be surprised if he gave loads of assignments. Can't pull anything past him neither. In fact, I say good luck to anyone who gets him.” She said with a straight face.

Edgar was quietly listening, not sure what to say or how to interrupt when Victor came over and pulled him into that situation. Awkwardly waving hello, Edgar was unsure what to say when he learned Elsie was the daughter of a Professor. If they did anything wrong, like mention secrets they had located during their first year. Or how the twins switched places in some classes. They would have to be very careful with what they said around this girl. He glanced at his twin when Elsie remarked about how strict her father was, suddenly hoping Victor did not want to take that class after all. He knew Victor had mentioned it as a possible third year extra class. Somehow, Edgar seemed to be roped into extra things. In fact, Victor had somehow convinced him to help with practicing for Quidditch tryouts. Edgar disliked flying, but he knew how much it meant to Victor. Sighing inwardly, Edgar somehow knew he would be taking that class next year. He paused a moment then softly said, "Welcome to Hogwarts." not sure what else to say.

Upstairs, Professor Quagon was relaxing with a book on his face. He sat in a comfy chair and was absorbing the conversations around him. Quite often he found Ravenclaws in the library. He figured it would help him learn which students he could rely on for getting extra points. He was honestly surprised when he saw Nicholias enter the library. The fiery redhead that lost them ten points that day. He filed that information away for their talk that night, maybe she was not a troublemaker after all. He glanced at the time then abruptly stood up right then and there, startling two students who had been talking. Titus suddenly remembered he was going to send an owl to Abby and he was going to meet the Alchemy Professor for chess. So little time in a day. He thought to himself, putting the book he was reading away. He then lazily walked out of the library to get his tasks done for the day. All the while, pondering on his speech he would give the Ravenclaws tonight.

”Well, yes, I won’t turn to stone. But my legs will. It’s true even if you highly doubt it.” Fawn had replied, as if she was certain about the fate of her legs if she didn’t get up and stretch them every very often. Of course it was silly since she woke up from sleep with her legs not turned to stone, but it was just another one of those random things that Fawn believed.. or maybe just said to say it.

Fawn was almost passed the point of patience as she CONTINUED to wait for Gina to catch up. Did she have to take so much time putting her things up? Its not like their things were going anywhere.. or at least she wanted to believe that nobody would pick up their things and move them, much less a Hufflepuff student. It wasn’t that Fawn believed that everyone was nice and kind, quite the opposite really, just that she hoped she had finally found a place where she was surrounded by people who were nice, and who could accept that Fawn was a little bit different, and who wouldn’t tease her for being abnormal.
Fawn stood up and walked in a circle and finally, Gina showed up. ”Took you forever.. We barely have enough time now to do what we need to do.” Fawn explained with a exaggerated sigh. Fawn didn’t want to have to wait for Gina to catch up from this point onward so she reached out lightning fast and grabbed Gina’s hand and then started forward. If the only way to keep Gina from lagging behind was to pull her aong.. then Fawn would take on that monumental responsibility! Thankfully for Gina, Fawn really wasn’t moving that fast. Where as she’d normally ran, or hyper walked everywhere, now she was walking at a fairly normal, casual pace. Fawn also didn’t seem to care much about invading Gina’s personal space by taking her hand, nor did she consider hand holding as anything other than just a normal act..

“Were going to be doing both. Outside and explore the castle. We have to find a spot.” She answered, and put eeeexxxxxttttttrrrrraaaa emphasis on the word spot to highlight just how important finding this spot was.

”Aye, sure am.” Victor replied to the question of being a Gryffindor. The house symbol was right on his robes, but he wouldn’t fault a first year for not being familiar with which symbol represented which house.. Though a smart ravenclaw like Elsie probably already devoured much of A History Of Hogwarts, and because of that, Victor felt no need to talk about Gryffndor, or any of the other houses.

Victor was actually kind of proud he even got his brother to say anything, given the circumstances. He had always been polite, even to a fault, so he shouldn’t really have been surprised when Edgar welcomed the first year to Hogwarts, but still…. Maybe.. maybe he could slowly pull Edgar out of his shell and make him a more social person yet. The news about Professor Nicholias was.. disheartening at best. Victor was kind of looking forward to doing Care for Magical Creatures next year and had planned on roping his brother into taking the class also, but now Victor wasn’t so sure. There was still plenty of time to decide though, so Victor tried to put it out of his mind. He would have to mention this to some of the senior Gryffndor kids though.. maybe even earning him some respect among the older kids that he managed to find out so much information about the new professor. But hearing about Professor Nicholias like this, from his own daughter even, made Victor much more cautious with his words. Was this really anyone he wanted to get chummy with? The last thing he, and his brother, needed was the constant eye of a professor looking their way when the two of them spent an evening exploring together, or when they decided to switch robes so he could trick other students or sit in another class to see how long it took the professor to notice. Even the straight faced way that Elsie made mention of this was unnerving.. so matter of fact like… So.. Ravenclaw. Victor turned to the pile of books and grabbed a few from the pile and thrust them into his brothers arms, then took the remainder of the stack for himself.. leaving Elsie with nothing to carry. ”Well, I’m sure were keeping you from your reading. So let us at least help you carry these to the librarians desk so you can get them checked out. After that, I think my brother and I are going to sit down somewhere to work on homework.. I still can’t believe that they assign schoolwork during the first few days..” Victor nudged his brother forward and motioned with his head for Elsie to follow. Of course… the girl would still have to try and carry all of it back to the Ravenclaw common room by herself, but Victor didn’t think that far ahead.

Kyra left her mothers office feeling as if a rain cloud floated above her, permanently dispensing gloom and doom upon her head. This was probably the worst day of her life. There were one or two before this that she could recall being bad, but this was easily her worst day at Hogwarts.. and only just the second day at Hogwarts. Kyra hoped the rest of the year would be better, and in fact she made a promise to herself right then and there not to get into anymore trouble.

After her mother had gotten her back to the office and calmed her down, Kyra was assaulted by a verbal lashing, with a dash of motherly love sprinkled in. Her mother had found out about the detention that she got during her disastrous flying class, and on top of that she would now be required to take separate flying lessons early in the morning until she was comfortable enough on a broom to re-join the class. Kyra’s stomach knotted at just the thought of getting back on a broom again and she had protested hotly with her mother about it. Kyra had even tried suggesting to her mother, that because she was a professor, that she could get Kyra out of flying altogether.. This was met with the darkest you did not just say what I thought you said expression she had seen from her mother in a long time.. and like that Kyra had given up, and given in. But her mother didn’t stop there and told her that she’d be serving her detention during the weekend when everyone else was out enjoying themselves. And to top it all off, her mother wanted her to at least spend an hour, if not more, a couple days out of the week helping her do greenhouse work in the evenings after classes had ended for most everyone else. Kyra was so bummed at this point that she didn’t even protest, and just replied with a meek “Yes mother” that her mother approved of. Kyra got the sense that her poor start to the school year had put her mother into hawk mode, and that she’d be keeping an extra eye on her until Kyra could prove that she wasn’t going to disappoint her, or sully the family name. The only positive thing to come out of the whole exchange was that her mother didn’t make any negative mentions about her new friend, but Kyra wouldn’t let her mother decide her friends. She’d be firm on that point.

The events of the entire day had left Kyra exhausted, and understandably tired. She even thought about going to the nurses wing in hopes of convincing whoever worked there to get her out of Astrology Class that night, but she was sure it was something her mother would disapprove of, so that thought went straight to nopesville. Instead Kyra sluggishly, and gloomily carried her and her bag back to the Ravenclaw Commons room. It took her three tries to remember the password to get in because her brain didn’t want to work. Nobody in the commons room talked to her, they could probably all feel the despair radiating around her, emanating a keep away kind of aura. Kyra made it all the way to the first years girls dorms and flopped across her bed, her long silver hair cascading around her face and to the floor, and for a few seconds she just sat there, staring blankly at the carpet, arms dangling down to the floor. Japopo eventually poked his head out to see who had disturbed her slumber, and upon seeing it was her owner slowly inched to one of Kyra’s hands and nuzzled it. ”I hope you at least had a good day.” she muttered to the adorable slug. Kyra turned her palm so that Japopo could crawl on top of it and she rolled over onto her back and sat up, putting the cute creature down ontop of her blankets. Kyra fell back, longways along the bed and closed her eyes, but opened them after a few seconds. Unfortunately she couldn’t really afford to sleep so instead she forced herself up again and looked for something to pass the time.

Gina hid her smile, not wanting to encourage Fawn to believe such a silly notion. Though, at the same time she wondered. She knew so little about the wizarding world. Was there a curse that did that? Turn someone into stone? She was quite curious as she went upstairs to put their belongings away. It was more to respect the others than fear of losing items. Someone may need to use that table and it was impolite to take up a table when not there. Gina had the feeling she would gently have to teach Fawn many things during their stay at Hogwarts.

She was greeted by a frustrated Fawn and was quickly grabbed by the hand to be lead off to who knows where. Thankfully she did not move too fast and her grip was not too tight so, Gina followed with mild curiosity. She would have been bothered if a boy had held her hand, but Gina was used to her cousins and their excitement as they pulled her to the barn to show off the new kittens. Or off to the pond to go swimming. Both?

Spot? What do you mean?” She wondered aloud. A part of her was nervous about getting lost while the rest of her was reassured they had plenty of daylight left. Surely Fawn would get bored before too long.

They explored quite a lot of the dungeons, by taking a lot of the twisting paths. Most of the rooms were classrooms or storage but some seemed interesting to Gina, but Fawn seemed to be looking for more. It took some time before Gina started to relax, not worried about being yelled at by an upper classmate or Professor. She had finally been given her hand back, as long as she had followed Fawn at a good pace. Gina explored with a new curiosity. She had never really left her town before but she had been curious about new places and now here, Gina found she wanted to know a bit more. She had to convince Fawn to not open some of the doors, they were closed for a reason which seemed to only make Fawn more curious. Gina learned quickly to distract Fawn with pointing out open rooms, then suggest they go to another floor. Gina noticed quite a lot of Slytherin students as well as Hufflepuff wandering about in the Dungeons. She had read a bit of the book about Hogwarts last night. Her excitement of school had kept her up. She was also missing home and worried about how different everything now was. “Fawn, what are you wanting to be when you grow up?” She asked, wondering about her new friend. She was expecting a silly answer, but there might be some truth to what Fawn says next.

Elsie was curious to learn more about the Gryffindor house but she felt a bit shy asking things she felt she should already know. What would they say, if she asked. She was a Ravenclaw. She knew enough about her House to know it was expected for her to know things. Asking only made her seem stupid. She was feeling like she was seven and it was her first day of school, all over again. On that train ride with Markelm reassuring her how she would take the school by storm. His reassurance gave her such confidence back then. He reassured her twice today and Elsie still felt out of place. Eying these two twins, Elsie felt they were now judging her for being a Professor's daughter. Maybe that was why she had lied, but she was sticking to that lie. Markelm had a serious side. She had pissed him off enough times to know he could be strict. Maybe he was a serious Professor.... she thought then found herself trying to hide a giggle as she pictured Markelm with a strict face as he scolded other kids. She hoped neither twin noticed her hidden giggle. It seemed the Gryffindor was instead taking her books and passing off some to his twin; offering to help her take the books to the library desk. She was surprised by their offer, well; Victor's offer. Edgar seemed to just do what his brother wanted. “Oh, um thanks.” Elsie mumbled nervously; not used to someone helping her like that. She followed them to the library desk and was greeted by an old man who looked like one of the men that visited a few times when Elsie was a little girl. More beard than human and wearing a long robe. Although unlike the other one, this man had big bushy eyebrows and was wearing a strange looking hat. Elsie had to blink a few times to keep her comments to herself. “Um, I would like to check out these books?” She said once the introductions were over. The older man seemed to be friendly enough, and was somewhat expecting her to be there. Were Ravenclaws really that predictable? Elsie wondered while a small blush crept to her cheeks. She had only wanted to do a little light reading. Maybe it was odd to read this much. SHe was beginning to realize.

The librarian's desk was clean and had lots of space for books. She had noticed a cart that was filled with books needing to be put away. It was a lot like the library back home. It was actually reassuring in a way that there was something similar to the muggle world she knew so well. Maybe it was not that different. Elsie thought while the man was checking the books and making sure no one had wanted them from last year. All it took was a simple signature of her name and a stamp on the pile of books before Elsie officially checked them out. She had a week to read through them. Seeing the large pile of books, she was suddenly overwhelmed while she thought of carrying them up all those stairs. “Do you, um... think you can help me carry some to the Ravenclaw tower? Before you go do your homework, that is. I mean, I suppose I can go bother my father and see if he can help. He is rather closeby...” She saw the quiet twin glanced at his brother, a bit uneasy but he said nothing.

Fawn had already led Gina a few paces forward when she asked what Fawn meant by a spot. Fawn sighed as if it was painfully obvious and at first she began to explain loudly. ”You know, a spot. Some spot that is our spot, where we can always go and just be lazy at. That place where when other people won’t go, or if they approach it they’ll stop and be like (Fawn says in a deep voice at this point)’Hey, that’s Fawn and Gina’s spot, we can’t sit here.’ But its gotta be a perfect spot, and we have to get a early jump on all the other first years.” Fawn explained briefly. After making the comment of getting the early jump on everyone else she suddenly quieted, not wanting the others to hear her and start spot hunting themselves, so she whispered the rest. At this point they were passing a courtyard where groups of students were sitting, relaxing and chatting. Fawn pointed to a group of kids sitting beneath a tree. ”Like that, see.. that’s a spot and a darn good one. Unfortunately most of the best spots will be taken by older kids but that doesn’t mean that they got em all. If we look hard enough we can find a even better spot. Maybe even…. The best spot.. Fawn ended that sentence as if speaking of the best spot was some prophetic place, her voice ringing of whispered mythological mystery.

The dungeons seemed to be out of spots… and who would want to spend all their time in the melancholy dungeons anyway. It would be a nice place to hide or go if you wanted to get away but that’s a different spot for a different time. Fawn wanted somewhere perfect.. somewhere that they can be seen, but not still kind of out of the way. Somewhere that other kids will look at and be sad that they didn’t get to that spot first. The dungeons weren’t entirely fruitless though as Fawn attempted to open every single door down there out of sheer curiosity. She even tried to shoulder ram one door down that was locked but Gina was very persistent on dissuading Fawn from going into places that she was obviously not supposed to go into, and each time Fawn would whine and complain. ”Bu… but the SPOT could be in there! Awwwwwww Gina.. you are making this so much harder.. Fawn would whine like so each time, even though she knew the spot wasn’t down in the dungeons.. but she still wanted to explore.

By the time they got upstairs and out into the day light she had abandoned Gina’s hand. Gina was still led on a random unplanned zigzaggy exploration of the school as Fawn hopped about, climbed around, and crawled whenever applicable. Several times she tried to climb onto balconies or ledges that were dangerous but each time Gina pulled her back, with much protest. The crawling was easier to get away with and really only ended in Fawn getting dirtier and dustier.. She encountered plenty of dust bunnies and cobwebs but that didn’t seem to bother her either. By the time they got out side she looked pretty messy, her hair and clothes both covered in dust and bits of web clinged to her clothes.

Fawn didn’t spend any time thinking about the question presented to her. ”Probably an Auror or something.” she replied, but it came off as if she just threw out an answer just to throw it out, not really going into further detail and the tone of her voice was off-handish, as if that particular topic of conversation wasn't important. And it really wasn't since Fawn was still more concerned with finding a spot. The spot hunting wasn't going very well though. It seemed archways on ground level with good views of the courtyards were taken (obviously, since those spots would be taken by older kids) and trees or any other spots already had groups of people around them. Fawn abruptly stopped her searching and stood in the middle of a hallway. "Sometimes the spot can be reclusive and hard to find. Sometimes it can take a couple days to find the trail of the perfect spot and find it." she announced, rather than admitting defeat in finding that perfect spot. It also so happens that Fawn had stopped near the library and so she spun toward the library door. "Hey! I saw a Unicorn in the library. Wanna go see if its still there?" she asked, but didn't really give Gina time to answer as Fawn started toward the large door that led to the room full of books and shelves.

Victor had shown more surprise at the mountain of books Elsie was checking out than the librarian. Though the old man did seem to chuckle at seeing a first year Ravenclaw with such a large pile of reading material, or at least Victor thought the man chuckled since all he could see was the old mans beard shake a bit and a laugh like sound come from beneath it. Victor waited while the librarian checked them out and as the stack of books dwindled he tried to gesture with facial expressions toward his brother that maybe the two of them should take their leave now but it didn't seem Edgar was looking in his direction to get the hints and before Victor could catch his brothers arm and drag him off with a speedy get away the girl Elsie stalled him with her request. Victor muttered something he hoped neither his brother, Elsie, or the librarian heard as he turned back around and smiled. So much for speedy getaway..

Victor saw the request coming a mile away and wanted to cringe as the mention of Elsie's father was thrown out there. He felt suddenly pitted against a corner since he neither wanted to get on Professor Nicholias's bad side so early if he declined to help and his daughter mentioned it to him, but nor did he want to be seen hauling a large stack of books around for a first year girl. Victor momentarily chewed his words as his brain tried to come up with a good solution. He always prided himself in being perceived as kinda a cool kid and more or less popular and approachable and he wasn't against helping someone out but did he really need his classmates poking fun at him for being the lackey of a first year if they found out? Maybe.. if anyone saw and asked him.. maybe he could just brush it off like he was ordering a first year around to carry books for him? It was also obvious that Edgar didn't want to help either.. Victor partially wondered if the girl was just bluffing... but he didn't really think or know her well enough to gauge if she was that witty and crafty. Too bad there aren't any first year Gryffndor's around.. he thought before giving a shrug. Victor didn't see any way out of this and maybe he could spin this as just him being a nice guy and helping a clueless stumbling first year out. Could win him some points with some of the girls in his grade.. girls that he's been starting to notice more than he did last year. "I suppose.. I could help at least in taking them to Ravenclaw tower." He stated, then tried to give his brother an out. "Edgar, if you want to go on ahead you can, and I'll just catch up."

Victor stepped forward and took a stack of books from the table, shifting them around till they were balanced right in his arms.

Gina actually understood what Fawn meant. Smiling at the girl's explanation. It reminded her of back home and the places she met up with her cousins. “It does look like the older students found the more obvious spots. I have the feeling you will find the one that no one ever knew about.” Gina was half teasing, and somewhat serious. Fawn seemed to understand a lot about this school. She followed at a leisurely pace, thankfully not pulled by the hand. She kept quiet until Fawn seemed up to mischief. It took a while to find a balance in reprimanding, and refocusing. But there seemed to be a way to get Fawn to listen. "What kind of spot are you thinking we should have then? I want to know what we're looking for..." she said, trying to get some clues to Fawn's method.

Gina had an exhausting time during their search of the dungeon. She was extremely grateful when they went to the next area. Until Fawn explored in a more dangerous way. Gina's heart was in her throat. Would the teachers blame her if her classmate fell to her death? She would feel horrible if she did nothing as Fawn got hurt. That's for sure. This girl may be strange, but she seemed nice enough. "Be careful!" She scolded, then blushed. I'm not her mother... She had to remind herself. As she bit her tongue when Fawn once again went a bit too far. Gina decided she would only speak up when necessary. It was quite difficult actually. She actually caught herself reaching out and pulling Fawn back a few times; when Fawn was dangling too far over the edge of a balcony. Or balancing on a ledge. Thankfully, Fawn did not seem to mind. Before they went to the dining hall, Gina would have to suggest to Fawn, she needed a proper bath to rid herself from all the dust. Twice now, Gina caught herself brushing off dust balls from Fawn's hair and school uniform...

Gina half expected a nonsense answer. But, she was not sure if Fawn was serious. She had heard of an Auror before. Although had no idea what that was. “An Auror?” She questioned. Wondering if she could get Fawn distracted enough to slow down. They had been searching for the spot most of the afternoon now. Gina tried to follow the explanation. But Fawn seemed to be more focused on the spot right now. So, Gina shrugged and kept an eye out for the “spot”. Illusive? Hmm... Gina thought. “I think the spot should be a place we could see the courtyard from. Maybe one of the windows.” Gina pointed to the second floor they were passing under just as they neared the library. “A Unicorn!?” Her thoughts were refocused on the magical creature and the possible chance of seeing such a creature. She did not mind chasing after Fawn as she followed the girl into the library.

Being a girl from a small town, Gina was blown away by the number of books. “This is amazing!!!” She gasped.

Elsie was reassured when the librarian was not at all surprised by the large pile of books. Though it did make her wonder if any of the other houses had their own private library and still went to the main library. It's only a dozen or so books. She thought to herself. Then did a quick count as she signed them all. Alright, fine. It is sixteen books. That would not take me more than two weeks. She thought. Not sure why Victor looked surprised. His brother did not look shocked. Although, it was rather interesting how different the two were. Even though they looked so much alike. Edgar was reading the pile of book titles, interested in them all. Instead of looking baffled. He looked like he wanted to read some of them. He practically ignored his brother, forgetting Victor and Elsie were even there. Elsie did that all the time. It was relaxing to meet someone else who did that. She felt comfortable around him.

Edgar had no idea what to say as he listened to Victor and Elsie chat. Once he had dropped off the books at the desk, Edgar took back the four books he was going to check out for the week. He would have to wait until Elsie was done checking out, before he could finish. Four was enough. Besides, he seemed to have been roped into helping Victor with something again. Edgar was reading the back of one of the books he was interested in when he felt his brother nudge him. He glanced up a moment but could not understand the looks from his brother so he just gave a confused look back. Once Victor scooped up most of Elsie's books, and said Edgar could go on ahead; Edgar raised an eyebrow. “I need to check out my books first. Besides... I don't mind coming with. I like walking.” He said with a shrug, placing the four books onto the desk. One was a book of poems, another was research of dark creatures; the third was swamp herbology and the final was a book on mythological creatures. Creatures so rare, it's even a myth in the wizarding world. Checking the books out was quite easy; and he added his pile of books on top of the rest of Elsie's books. He browsed the titled and noticed she had checked out 'A children's anthology of monsters'. Picking out the book from the pile he held it out to her. “If you enjoy this one, I have a list of books you may like. I have a weird hobby studying weird creatures...” He spoke up, in a quiet tone as he glanced at Elsie. She looked pleased as she took the mentioned book.

I would love to hear that list sometime. With my Da now a professor of wizarding creatures. I figured I should brush up on some of them. I was raised in London... so....” She blushed bright red as she realized she admitted she knew next to nothing about the wizard world. She had heard others talking about muggle raised as a shameful thing. Though it did not seem to phase Edgar. Elsie did not even glance at Victor until she remembered to thank him for the help.

Edgar did not care as he nodded, He had met many muggle raised students at Hogwarts. “We’re from England too. Up in Bristol.” He replied as he scooped up the rest of the books then nodded to have then head to the Ravenclaw tower. He had some things he wanted to do back in the Hufflepuff dorms. But a nice walk was always good. He walked next to Elsie, with Victor behind them carrying the large pile of books. “So, London eh? See any Grindylow in the lakes there?” He asked, wondering if London's even had lakes. He would love to learn more about London. Having only visited a few times with his family.

Elsie paused then glanced at the book in her hands. Curiosity came to mind as she flipped through the book to find the mentioned creature as she mentioned, “We did not live near any lakes. We lived right by the Grand cross station. There was a reservoir nearby however... I must admit. I would not know. I drowned when I was a child so I avoid deep water....” She blushed as she spoke, then quickly said, “Ah ha! Grindylow. Well... that's rather vile... rather glad I don't swim...” She murmured aloud while glancing at the picture. “Was your house near a lake?” she asked, glancing over at Edgar.

Edgar spoke of his home first, actually talking rather vividly for a moment before returning to his more neutral tone of voice. A few times, bringing up a few creatures he and his brother had seen over the years. Then he spoke about the town itself. He asked about London and Elsie admitted she knew more about her cat back in London than any mythical creatures. She did mention a dog that belonged to a neighbor. Edgar briefly mentioned a few that might have hidden in such a busy town while Elsie absorbed the information with glee. The two walked ahead while they chattered about different creatures, while Victor carried the brunt of the books. If he spoke; the two commented briefly then refocused on the book between them. Eventually the three students reached the stairs.

Fawn put her hands on her hips and with a wide stance stood in front of the large wooden doors that opened into the library. "It sure is!" she affirmed, almost speaking as if she had some sort of hand with how impressive and grand the library was. Fawn had considered looking for her spot here but the library was a quiet place and she knew there was no chance of keeping her voice down for any extended amount of time... so the library was out of the picture, even if it was filled with nice little nooks and secluded crannies. And on top of all that she'd probably make quick enemies with the librarian and other students trying to study in peace. No.. Fawn thought to herself, the Library was definitely out of the question even if it was a literal goldmine for good spots. As Fawn bounded into the library, with Gina following at her heels they passed a group of three just now leaving. A girl and two boys who looked very similar, one of which had a look of gloom and doom about him as he followed the boy and girl in front of him, a huge pile of books in his hands.

Victor had no idea how it had come to this. Not only was he carrying a large, and heavy pile of books for a first year, but now he was trailing behind and his brother was actually being chatty. Victor couldn't even see them chat, just hear them as the stack of books in his hand rose up past his eyes. He prayed he didn't stumble into anything.. one mistep would lead to this giant pile of books flying everywhere. Thankfully he knew these halls pretty well so it wasn't hard getting his bearings just from glancing left and right. He was sure he looked pretty comical though, giant wavering pile of books on hand, grunting while walking.. Maybe it was a good thing his face was hidden behind the pile of books. Victor was too busy not losing his pile of books to really contribute to the conversation as he heard his brother talk about where their from and inquire as to where Elsie had come from. At the very least he could just gather information while he walked behind them.

When they reached the steps that led up to the tower his fingers and hands began to remind him that he was indeed carrying a heavy pile of books and his legs bemoaned the oncoming climb.. It didn't help that Edgar was doing his slow casual walk he does when his heads in the clouds or when he's engaged. Victor hustled up beside his brother and nodded up the stairs. "Hey, just remembered I was going to meet Sven in the courtyard so the two of us could go over some quidditch theory. I'm gonna hustle up these stairs and just drop the books off at the Ravenclaw statue and then hustle off." he stated, his lie wasn't even convincing in his own ears but if he had to carry these books much more longer his arms would probably plop out of their sockets and crawl away. Victor didn't really wait for a response as he went into a fast pace stair climb, going just slow enough to keep the books somewhat balanced. By the time he reached the top he was panting pretty heavily. He tried to ignore the glance from a silver haired cutie (a first year he assumed, but give her a couple years and he was sure she'd be a heartstealer) who had just left the commons room as he hastily put the pile of books down. Victor didn't idle long enough to give an explanation as he turned, considered hustling back down the stairs past his brother and the red headed first year, Elsie. He decided against that and through some complaining from his legs continued up stairs.

Since Fawn had already been in the library she had a pretty good lay of the land and it didn't take her long to zoom off. If Gina wanted to stop and look around.. well she'd have to give up on keeping pace with her. Fawn was just interested in finding her unicorn and so her legs shot her through the library as fast as she thought she could get away with. Any faster and she was sure the librarian would put the brakes on her little search.

Though still tired and mentally bleh, Kyra willed herself out of bed, out of the dorm room, and out of the commons altogether. The statue was closing behind her as a giant pile of books appeared from the stairs, accompanied by heavy panting. Kyra first thought it was another Ravenclaw who wanted to get a headstart on his studies this year but when the older boy put the book down she caught sight of the Gryffndor emblem.. The boy gave her only a quick glance before he hurriedly turned, hesitated, then went shooting up the stairs and out of sight. "Huh.." Kyra wasn't sure what to think as she walked to the pile of books and kneeled down to read the spines. Was the boy just dropping off some books for a Ravenclaw that was inside the commons room? Did she need to go back inside and ask if anyone was expecting a delivery of books? The pile seemed a mix between first year reading and 2nd and even a couple books she'd guess as 3rd year reading. Kyra stood up and as she did so caught sight of two more heads appearing from the stairs, one of which she recognized instantly and since Elsie was carrying a couple books herself.. it was easy to put two and two together. "You clearly belong in Ravenclaw." Kyra remarked as the two approached. Kyra then gave the older boy a quick inspection, noting that he looked an awful lot like the one who just vanished up the stairs. Kyra shot Elsie an inquisitive gaze, as if asking her to introduce her new friend and also explain why she needed so many books.
