Kanae nodded, looking back at Nic, but not without making eye contact with Richard just once after Calli left the room. "Abu? That's adorable. He helped you? So, he must be a smart little guy." Then she touched his arm gently. "I'm sure he's fine. They treat that damn cat better than they treat the help!" She hiccuped, then giggled, dropping her hand from his arm. s**t. She was really drunk. She should have paced herself, but she was so agitated! It felt good.
"They really do love their animals around here, is all I'm saying. Maybe Cah-" She hiccuped again, then giggled. "Maybe she'll bring Boo back." She smiled, not realizing she messed up Abu's name due to another hiccup. "What is happening?" Another one. Then another. Nae looked up as Richards voice forced through the chatter.
"That was good wine at dinner, wasn't it?" Her eyes flicked to his, those icy blue circles seemed to look right through her and steal her breath straight from her lungs. She was left completely breathless for a moment, and when she finally inhaled her hiccups were gone.
"I thought it was delightful." She glanced at Javier, who was raising an eyebrow at her. "I chose the wine for this evening actually." Nae rolled her eyes. "Of course you did!" She stood up just as Calli entered the room with Thor on a gold chain, which was honestly for looks. Javier always made fun of her for it because she thought it made Thor look elegant. But if he tried to escape, the chain wouldn't matter because he'd pull the princess on her a**. Just as she turned to step between Nic and Diana's chair, empty wine glass in hand, she tripped, sending the glass soaring into the air. It clashed against the wall, shattering across the floor. This apparently scared the monkey perched on Thors back, because he went running towards Nic, squealing just as Nae fell towards Rob and Richard.
"Nae!" Calli shouted, concerned.
I've been so wrapped up in my warm cocoon.,
But somethings happening things are changing soon. I'm pushing the edge..

"Bring back that wine!" Javier shouted after Calli as she ran out the door she shot him a thumbs up. Well, Thor would probably be in the kitchen anyway. The cooks loved to feed him scraps while they cooked, including cooking the tigers meal. Calli stepped inside the kitchen, snagged the half empty bottle of wine and the one matching that was full beside it. "Thor baby!" She giggled as she took in the sight before her. Cooks were rushing around, preparing a dessert while the tiger sat in his corner, on top of his personal cushion, with a monkey perched on his back snagging the scraps tossed his way. Thor would growl when Abu would snatch one of his turns out of midair, but then he would shake his head like a big brother and continue to play the monkeys game. She walked over, grabbing his gold chain and hooked it around his neck. "C'mon baby. Lets go meet the prince." On her way out of the kitchen RuthAnne, one of the chefs, stopped her. "Is it going well princess?" She had been a cook here for a long time, since Calli was a kid. She nodded, smiling. "He's sweet."
RuthAnne simply smiled, shaking her head slightly. "Be careful darling." With that, Calli lead the tiger back towards the dining room. She walked in just in time to see Kanae standing up and falling through the air.
"Nae!" She rushed towards the girl, dropping the chain as the monkey raced off towards Nic. But she held onto the wine at least.
Javier sat at the end of his table, bursting into laughter at the sight before him. Calli tossed the bottles at him, scowling. Thor casually strolled over to the table, straight up to Nic and Abu. He acted just like a kitten would, rubbing against Nic's leg, begging for attention.

 "Yeah, he's really smart. And a brat too." he said, his tone clearly carrying his affection for the little guy. So it sounded like Abu was with a cat? And perhaps the Princess' by the sound of it.
Nic laughed when Nae was cut off by hiccups, "Well that's good." he said, regarding their treatment of animals here, trying to keep his tone level as he watched her continue to struggle. He had to continue to put in effort to keep from busting up. She was totally drunk! It was funny.
d**k said something about the wine in a way that seemed like he had noticed the same thing, and then she just kept staring at him... Jeez, was everyone but his own sister in love with him or something?
Speaking of The Prince's sister, Nic had also noticed Diana make fun of Nae behind her back once the hiccuping had started. She clearly wanted him to see, but the worst part was that it had actually been pretty funny.
As soon as Calli entered the room however, nic saw her out of the corner of his eye and turned to see her holding a ******** tiger on a gold leash... with Abu on his back! Nic was too surprised to do anything but stare until Nae tripped and freaked the animals out, sending Abu scurrying toward Nic. He stood up just in time to receive Abu literally climbing up his body to perch on his shoulder, holding his hands over Nic's eyes.
"Oow! Abu!" he yelled, ripping his little hands off, and then once he had his bearings, tried soothing the monkey that was staring at the group still seated suspiciously. "You okay buddy?" he said, stroking him gently.
It looked like Nae had safely been caught by... Richard and his brother, okay...
So he returned his attention toward Calli, inching closer, "Thor is a tiger?" he said, clearly still slightly apprehensive, but excited and curious at the same time. The tiger was clearly cool with the Princess, but he could be territorial and protective or something.
And people in this city thought he was weird for having a monkey! Apparently they didn't know their own Princess had a tiger. Now that he thought about it, she really had been well protected up here. As far as he knew, the media didn't know much of her personal life, though surely they had tried.
"Can I actually pet him?" Nic asked. Once confirmed, he wouldn't need any further prompting. This was really cool!

Richard crossed his arms, meeting Nae's gaze when she turned to look at him when he spoke.
If it wasn't so easy to watch her, he might have really started laughing right at her - when he noticed his little sister being retarded in the back, pretending to be drunk with hiccups.
He stared right back into her eyes, mostly straight faced, but with his eyebrow raised at her in amusement. Then she looked away and Richard slowly did the same.
"Good pick" Richard said with a nod at Javier when he said he chose the wine. Yes it was good and he kind of wanted more, but really he was doing fine right now right? Buzzed and good and still functional, yeah baby!
Richard glanced at Nae as she stood up, started to look away seeing the Princess coming in with a ti- but then Nae tripped and he shot up, catching her in his arms... with Rob pressing into his side, one arm under Nae as well.
Richard gave his brother a sideways look, and he grinned and shrugged, slowly moving back while Richard steadied the curly haired brunette.
For just a brief moment, when their bodies were close together, Richard took the opportunity to whisper huskily in her ear, "Careful there Kanae, you're drunk."
And then she was standing and he laid a hand on her shoulder to make sure she stayed standing, but with more space between their bodies.
"Are you alright Nae?" he asked, voice much more impersonal, yet concerned, for it was his duty as a Prince to catch a lady, right?
Once he was sure Nae was alright, Richard stepped away from the others to head toward Calliope and Nic. He didn't need to leave the two of them alone any longer.
He noticed his brother Rob move toward Nae again however, the moment he stepped away, asking after her, hand to her shoulder as well.
Whatever.
'Cause I took that s**t out.

Once Nae was caught, she gathered the chain again and backed away to let her stumble out of the arms of Richard and Rob... Which Calli thought nothing of. She smiled, then turned to Nic who approached her and Thor. Calli giggled, looking up at Abu, who had nicked Nic's cheek when he grabbed onto his face. She reached up with her free hand to touch it gently. "You're bleeding a little bit, looks like Abu got you." She frowned, then Thor purred beneath them. "Thor is a tiger." She laughed, in response to his statement. "He's my kitty. I've had him since I was about five years old. He was just a baby." She smiled down at him.
Richard seemed to have gotten Nae on her feet, then joined them off to the side of the room. "She's okay?" Calli asked, then Nae chimed in her own response. Calli nodded quickly. "You were lucky to have fallen in their direction, yes." She looked over at Richard, smiling- then laughing. "You're clearly a mess, dear." She shook her head. Nic asked about petting Thor, but before she could answer Nae was bending down to pet Thor herself.
Thor loved Nae, and really anybody- Except Javier. She didn't quite understand why, but everyone said tigers are a great judge of character- whatever that meant.
"Anyways, yes you can pet Thor. He's a lover. Abu and him seemed to be quick friends!" Calli was already planning play dates for their pets. Kanae was almost falling.. again. Calli actually felt a little agitated. She didn't need to be sloppy and falling all over herself in front of the Andor royal family... It looked bad! Calli sighed, trying to keep from getting too anxious.
Nae grabbed onto Nic for balance, but released him soon there after.
It was fine. Everyone was drinking and enjoying themselves anyways. Maybe she could use another glass herself. It wasn't often she decided to indulge, but it was a special occasion.
Kanae met her eyes, then glanced away. Maybe she took the hint to slow down. That would be fine. If she just slowed down.
Thor purred loudly, begging for attention. Calli giggled, "Go ahead, he seems to like the two of you." Then she took Nae by the hand and walked over to the table, leaving the pets and boys behind. Javier had left the room momentarily, leaving the wine bottles on the table.
"So, what do you think of him?"
Nae cocked her head to the side, when Calli offered to fill her glass she shook her head no. "I figured." She laughed.
"I think Nic's a great guy." Calli looked up at her, raising an eyebrow.
"Nic? I meant Richard, you know, the man they've chosen for me to marry?"
Nae laughed. "Oh, right! I just thought since Nic saved your life and all..." That's when Javier snuck up behind the pair of girls, before Calli could reply to Nae. He placed each of his hands on the small of each girls back,
"More wine ladies? I don't think Kanae really needs anymore." Then he chuckled, removed his hands, and took the bottle from Calli with a wink.
"I'm perfectly fine, thank you." Nae snorted, then moved out of his reach, crossing her arms across her chest.
Calli moved backwards, giving him room to fill his glass. "Be nice you two. This is not the place for that." Calli had thought nothing of him touching her, Javier always did things like that. It just didn't seem weird to her. She was also oblivious to his affection for her.
She turned to see Thor leading Richard and Nic over to the table, Abu perched back on the tigers back. "Nic, we will have to plan dates." She smiled, "For the two of them. Its adorable. They're best friends!"

Kanae gasped as she fell into, not one set of arms, but two. She glanced up, meeting two pairs of eyes, one Richard's, the others Robs. Her smile stretched from ear to ear as her cheeks flushed red. Her head was closer to Richard, giving him the opportunity to whisper into her ear, "Careful there, Kanae, you're drunk." He left her breathless, though upright now. His hand rested on her shoulder, but space was now forced between them.
They had crazy amounts of chemistry. It was ridiculous.
During her human-researching sessions she read a lot about heart attacks being a huge issue for this race. Her heart was sure feeling under attack right now as it racked in her chest. She nodded, "Yeah." Her voice cracking as she responded. But her hiccups were gone, at least! Richard was leaving much too quickly, his hand replaced with Robs. She got her breathing under control then responded, nodding, "Yeah, thank you so much." Then, even in her drunken state, she realized the way Rob looked at her wasn't much different than the way Diana was looking at Nic... Still. Even as he joined the princess and Thor.
"It's a pleasure to fall into the arms of a prince." She giggled, then went to join the posse gathering around the tiger. She came between Nic and Richard, across from Calli who was holding the chain again, standing almost behind Thor.
"I'm fine, Calli. Just clumsy tonight. Thank goodness Richard and Rob caught me, I would have broken my neck!" She laughed it off, trying to play it cool.
Hearing Nics question, Nae carefully bent down in her heels, and brought her fingers to Thors face. Calli told her normally he was friendly with everyone. There were few people he disliked. Like Javier for instance, which is why he remained at the table, sipping his fancy wine and watching the scene before him.
"That's a good baby." She cooed, then Thor responded by licking her cheek. Kanae giggled, then stood back up, wobbled and reached out to place her hand on Nic's shoulder to steady herself. "Sorry! I'm getting used to heels and wine I guess." The words slipped out of her mouth before she could really process them. Nae looked around, meeting Calli's eyes, then glanced down at Thor again. Awkward...
Calli grabbed her hand, pulling her away from everyone. Reluctantly, she left Richard's side to follow Calli to refill her glass. She hadn't even noticed Javier leave... But apparently he did and left them the wine. Cool!
Her head was swimming when Calli offered her more to drink, so she decided to heed Richards warning... This apparently was what drunk felt like. s**t.
"I think Nic's a great guy." She commented back as Calli filled her own glass.
"Nic? I meant Richard. You know, the man they've chosen for me to marry?" Okay. Obviously Nae knew that Calli was talking about Richard. But she could clearly see something between Nic and Calli. Even if it seemed mostly one sided. "Oh, right! I just thought since Nic saved your life and all..." They were interrupted by Javier, who placed his hand on the small of Nae's back as he spoke to them. "More wine ladies? I don't think Kanae really needs anymore."
Nae snorted, stepping back out of his reach, "I'm perfectly fine thank you." Her eyes rolled and Calli also moved away from the table. Had he touched her too? ...
As Richard, Nic, Thor, and Abu returned to the table, Calli was beaming about dates. For the animals. Because they were best friends. Kanae really found Calli quite nauseating sometimes. She just seemed so perky and eager, it was a little much.
Or maybe that was the wine talking. Nae shrugged, mostly at her inner thoughts. As her mind wandered slightly, she locked eyes with Rob, who had returned to his seat where he was playing on his phone again. He smiled at her, and she couldn't help but return it. Even if he was Richards brother, his obvious interest in her could be of use to her. She needed to make nice with him, and hopefully Diana too.

Nic held his ground when Calli approached him with the tiger, but was surprised when she touched his cheek. "Oh did he?" Nic said absently, touching his hand to the same spot after her hand fell. Her touch was so light and delicate he almost shivered.
Thor. Tiger. Right.
"That's crazy, but awesome." he commented. Her kitty haha yeah wow. It looked like she might be the same way with her "kitty" as he was with Abu!
Nic's attention briefly got directed back toward Nae, who was definitely okay with two friggin Prince's to catch her apparently. But when he turned to look, Nic was more distracted by the sight of Richard heading their way, though he was soon followed by the now slightly infamous Nae who immediately started petting Thor.
Okay. At least he had something to focus on other than just trying to ignore Richard and Calli, especially courtesy of another just slightly strange comment from the drunk girl. She didn't seem to have the same level of naivety as the Princess, but a certain kind that was all her own. He definitely needed to look up her home town sometime.
Nic took after Nae's lead, bending down to pet the tiger, who acted more like a friendly dog than anything else. When he did so, Abu hopped down, right back onto Thor's back. The tiger just turned his head and licked the monkey once right up his whole side with his big wide tongue. It was one of the most comical and surreal sights Nic had ever seen.
Laughing, he started scratching under Thor's ear, but his eyes followed Calli when she dragged Nae off to the table with her. He directed his attention back to the tiger, scratching his nose, and then stroking his back, starting from where Abu sat down to his tail.
It only lasted a minute or so though before Thor started moving toward Calli and the table, so Nic stood up, following behind.
As he neared, Nic barely even notice Diana dashing toward them, then slowing down before reaching the tiger, and then proceeding to pet him as well.
He barely noticed, because now Calli was speaking to him, mentioning dates for animals.
If that really happened... then he would get to keep coming here and seeing the Princess. He would get to do something different. It didn't sound like Kanae came from a family of any prominence or anything. So far he hadn't been able to gather that her status within Bania and the castle came purely from her friendship with the Princess... but he also doubted her father would like him becoming anything similar. But if he could visit here... well. Nic had never known such elegance before, and was used to sleeping on the ground or with leaky ceilings.
If the King didn't put a stop to it, maybe this was actually Nic's chance to get just a little taste of the good life.
Nic hesitated only a moment to process what she said before replying enthusiastically, "That sounds like a great idea! Abu is really friendly in general, but I've never seen him quite like this."
When they reached Calli, the Tiger sat down, which didn't bother Abu at all because he propped himself between Thor's shoulder blades like a saddle, hairy little arms wrapped half around his neck, and hands gripping the tiger's fur. He was probably so light that Thor barely even noticed.
Nic got down on one knee again, right next to the Princess this time, as he began petting Thor again.
Before he knew it, Nic was babbling animal talk at the big cat that was purring delightedly at the attention. He even received a big lick across the face that almost knocked him back for it, causing him to laugh before wiping at the saliva with his sleeve. He didn't even think about how that probably wasn't at all appropriate in a suit.
Diana was inching closer to him, down on her own knees, petting the tiger. She laughed "EEEW" when he got licked and even more so when he wiped it off, but her looks and giggles were so flirty, Nic didn't even really know what to do. Just pet the tiger! The only thing that's been on my mind

Richard heard the brief bio about the tiger named Thor. It was a strange sight to see. Perhaps there was a little bit more to this Princess than what met the eye? Eh well, at least what met the eye was hot. At least if Richard was going to be forced into a marriage to a woman he was supposed to live the rest of his life with, she was someone attractive! Having heirs and s**t wouldn't be a problem. Hot friend was a bonus.
So as Richard swaggered toward Calli and Nic he put on his charming smile for her. As he neared, he heard the brief bio on the big cat and told himself he had to start remembering s**t like this to get ahead here.
When he reached her, she asked about Nae, but Richard only had a chance to say "We caught her just in time" before she was coming up from behind answering herself. He glanced at her briefly before turning back to the Princess.
"That is an impressive animal you have there Calli, he is clearly incredibly well trained." he said, nodding his approval. He wouldn't have minded giving the tiger a scratch himself, but he wasn't about to get down on his knees next to Nic.
Nae was soon spirited away by the Princess herself though, so Richard sighed subtly, closing his eyes for a moment and really let himself feel the alcohol buzzing through his head. Following Calliope around just trying to get an edge was not really what he wanted to be doing right now.
What he really wanted to be doing right now was having sex, but in lieu...
Dancing sounded fun. He wondered if this formal dinner would include any dancing once they got dessert out of the way. Certainly there would be more mingling before everyone went off for bed, but a good celebration needed dancing! Movement!
Well regardless, Richard glanced down at the tiger again, which now had the monkey on his back again. That was the weirdest part. The tiger with the monkey on it's back. He felt like that should be a metaphor for something, but was not going to think out how that made sense.
Standing there, near Nic and the tiger, Richard looked back toward the girls. There was definitely something amusing about watching the two of them just interacting and seeing them be the friends he had only previously been told they were, while thinking about what had happened, and what he intended to happen. He just really hoped Nae didn't go all 'it's too wrong guilt trip' last second on him before anything really fun had a chance to happen.
As Richard reached the table area again with Nic and the animals, Calli was going on about planning dates for the pets... Seriously? The tiger and monkey would live if they didn't see each other again, jeez. And that would undoubtedly mean that street boy would be visiting and spending time with his Princess beyond this dinner. Richard did not like the sound of that.
He sat back down in the chair he had previously vacated, near both Nae and Calli again.

Another glance toward the tiger showed Richard just how close his 15 year old sister was trying to get to Nic, making him grit his teeth momentarily.
Oh yeah, this guy had to go.
Richard had effectively taken care of every other guy that had tried to get at her in the last couple years since she hit puberty, another one shouldn't be too much trouble.

"I know. Thor tends to love people, but other animals? Not so much. He's never hurt another animal, but he gets so jealous." She giggled as the monkey maneuvered himself between the shoulders of her tiger. He would have went crazy if anyone else did that, but he clearly had a soft spot for the furry little guy. She smiled down at Nic as he knelt down to continue to give Thor love. Which he loved. Thor was really just a big lug who wanted nothing more than attention from just about anyone. He seemed to especially warm up to Nic, because he kept licking his face. Calli laughed, "I'm so sorry! Thor quit it." But her voice was light and full of laughter. Diana was joining Nic on the floor, laughing and ewing as he licked his face.
"He's just such a lover." Richard had seemed mildly interested in Thor, though not quite as much as Nic. Nic ended up receiving the brunt of the princesses attention as he loved on her tiger.
Then Richard broke her train of thought, while she was clearly staring. "Oh! I imagine they'll be back inside soon, actually... We should take the babies into the kitchen again." She thought for a moment. "I'm not sure what daddy has planned for after dessert, honestly. I know our fathers have a lot to talk about. I'm sure we will go into the hall through that side door and spend the time socializing until everyone turns in." She shrugged, not really sure but trying to sound formal yet young and fun. Calli flashed him a smile before asking Nic, "Would you like to take Abu and Thor back to the kitchen with me?" She figured she would offer to bring him along, since Abu was his monkey and all... That's really it.
"Richard, we will be right back. Daddy will lose his mind," She reached out with her free hand to gently touch his arm, "If he comes in and sees the animals in the dining room." She smiled, then dropped her hand.
"Nae, you'll keep Richard, Diana, and Rob entertained yes?" She looked to her curly haired friend, pleading with her eyes to keep it together for a few minutes. After confirmation from Nae, she lead Nic out of the dining room and down the hall, towards the kitchen, gold chain in hand with Thor following her closely.

Nae stood closer to Javier, but in between him and Rob now, watching the events down the table a little further. Diana had joined them in petting Thor. The monkey was being adorable and they really were fast friends.
"It's not cool being on the outside is it, Kanae?" Javier chuckled, finishing off another glass of wine.
"What are you talking about?"
He laughed again, refilling his glass. "You've been the center of attention since you arrived. Princesses only best friend? She's treated you like a sister, as has this entire royal council. Now she's got a hero, another princess, and a future husband who's a prince? Might as well pack your bags honey." Nae bit her lip.
What if he was right? Maybe she needed to strengthen their bond a little bit more so she was sure to stay in the loop. They'd have plenty to talk about tonight after the welcome party ended anyways. "I'm just feeling really drunk right now so I don't think it's best that I make myself the center of attention Javi. Tonight is about Calli and Richard meeting and beginning their long future together." Why did it seem so hard to spit those words out?
Must be the alcohol she thought to herself.
Yeah, sure. That's all it was.
Nae held the back of Rob's chair to keep herself steady while the four of them continued to talk.
"All I'm saying is you better enjoy your stay while it's still allowed." She didn't really like the sound of that.
"Thanks for the advice Javi." He grimaced and continued to suck down his wine.
That's when Calli mentioned her name, asking her to keep Rob, Diana, and Richard entertained while she and Nic returned to animals to the kitchen before the men arrived. Nae nodded, her hands trembling slightly. Entertain Richard? Her heart raced at the thought, recalling the events that happened before dinner. Nae's eyes traveled, locking on icy blue ones down the table.
"Of course, princess." She stuttered, "I mean Calli." She laughed, shook her head at herself, and then replaced her previous doe-eyed look with a smile. Nae pulled out her previous chair at the table and sat down, needing to not be on her feet especially in heels right now.
"Richard, Diana, Rob, do tell me about Andor, would you? Since I'm new to the area, I don't know much about it." Lies. "I'd really like to see it soon, the princess and I have yet to get away with that one." Her eyes flickered from Richard's face to look back at Rob and Diana. Then she leaned forward in her turned chair, back facing the table, which displayed her cleavage nicely in her green dress.
Nic and Calli made their way out of the dining hall, without glancing their way Nae couldn't help but wonder about that one. Maybe there was something there, or maybe the princess just genuinely thought he was a nice guy. But she wanted to dig deeper, Nic could be of great use. Especially if the princess planned on keeping him around with this animal non sense.

Continuing to pet and scratch Thor, Nic looked up at the Princess as she spoke to him, just in time to catch her face as she giggled. It was strangely cute. So the tiger was giving Abu special treatment eh? Lucky me. Though Nic wasn't about to get his hopes up too high either.
"I can see that! It's awesome!" Nic exclaimed, getting both hands in there for a really good scratch. It almost looked like Thor's eyes were going to roll back in his head as he enjoyed the attention, which was all the more amusing. By then, Diana was touching up against his side, but he hardly noticed between the tiger and Calli.
Nic focused on Thor all the more when he heard Richard speaking to the Princess, scratching under his chin and laughing to at the big cat's reactions. He was so wrapped up with the tiger that he almost didn't realize Calli was talking to him when she asked if he wanted to take the animals back into the kitchen with her.
"Wha- oh yeah! Okay." Nic stood up, and absently dusted fur off of his pants while the Princess addressed the others. Yeah d**k, we'll be right back.
Then he followed her out, adding in an extra stride to come side to side with her as they walked.
"I've definitely had a lot of new and interesting experiences since I found you." he commented, as thoughts of the tiger lead to his trip since rescuing her back downtown so far. Mostly he was taking things as they came tonight, but whenever he thought about what was actually happening, it was hard to grasp. It wasn't... but it was. The only thing that's been on my mind

Richard leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, trying not to look bored and annoyed while Calliope went on to Nic about the animals. His brother was occupied with his phone again, his sister was being stupid, and even Nae was chatting with that other what's his dumbass.
His question didn't really answer anything beyond what he had figured, but he hadn't really expected much. It was small talk.
Richard nodded, "I'm sure he planned it well, can't wait to find out" okay yeah so he wasn't always so great at small talk, though he could go on and on about plenty of things... that usually weren't appropriate at anything like this around anyone like her.
He regretted his lazy attempts when Calli got up, wanting to take Nic with her back to the kitchens to return the animals.
"I'll be waiting" he said when she addressed him over it, smiling up at her from his seat.
Richard turned the look on Nae with an added hint of amusement when Calli asked her to keep him entertained while she was gone. Of course she didn't know how well Kanae had already entertained him while she was gone so far. But the stuttering brunette down the table surely remembered.
It took a moment for her to stand and pull up a chair, probably not wanting to go tripping all over the place again. She addressed all three of the Blackwoods,
asking after their Kingdom, but Richard saw the way her eyes flit around him.
Diana had sat back down in a chair after Nic left and still appeared to be pouting and texting at the same time, while Rob was still preoccupied with his phone as well, which very neatly left Richard to answering alone.
"Well the first thing to note are the beaches lining the kingdom. There's long stretches of sand separated by cliffs and rocks with a couple good diving spots. So we cater to it, keep the beaches clean and entertainment on the piers, good for tourism too. Go inland though and there's a lot of variety, a little bit of everything, so it depends what you're into" the corner of his lips turned up into a slight smirk, seeming to imply something inappropriate though his tone kept level enough.
"Concerts, parties, shows-" "Malls-" "Racing..." Rob cut in, obvious listing the very first things that popped up in his head that he clearly was "into" in his kingdom, with Diana popping in in the middle there.
Richard went on to see how long he could hold eye contact with Nae, smirking as he was, while ignoring his siblings altogether.
'Cause I took that s**t out.

It took a moment, and Thor's lead, to grab Nic's attention. Calli turned to look over her shoulder, noting that Nae was sitting and talking with the Blackwells. Thank goodness. She smiled appreciatively, then turned to face forward.
"I think it's going quite well, don't you? Are you enjoying yourself, Nic?" She paused, now walking beside him as they continued. "I don't know what you're previously accustomed to, but I do hope it's been a pleasure so far." Thor's feet padded against the floor, Abu was enthused with his riding buddy and it was absolutely adorable.
Calli's brain really should be elsewhere. Like on how to impress the prince further. She may not have picked up on his boredom, but she knew she really needed to make a lasting impression, especially after being so late...
"New experiences? That's a good thing isn't it, broadening your horizons?" That's what she had been trying to accomplish all along really. How was she to become queen when she was naive? "I could say the same, actually. You're going to be quite a bit of help to me, Nic." She smiled at him, then pushed open the doors to the kitchen, revealing a deliciously sinful scent. Calli inhaled deeply, held it, and exhaled. As soon as she was noticed, everyone greeted her, "Hello princess." She entered, nodding and smiling at the cooks and such. "I brought the kiddos back, daddy is returning soon. I assume that dessert is ready?"
The head cook, Henry, stepped forward, his front dusted in flour.
"Yes mam, we shall bring it out as soon as you all are seated."
"You have something special for the babies right?" She asked, as someone released Thor from his chain. The tiger, with monkey still attached, went over to his bed in the corner, ready and waiting for his own dessert.
"Of course, princess." He smiled, Calli thanked him, then turned on her heels. She slid a little bit, stumbling to catch herself, which ended up being
because she steadied herself on Nic's arm.
"Princess!" Henry shouted, but Calli waved him off.
"How clumsy of me!" She blushed, then removed herself from Nic. "I am so sorry. Henry, it's my fault. I'm fine. Don't worry!" She reassured him before leading Nic out of the kitchen.
"That was so embarrassing. I swear, I'm not drunk like Kanae. I'm not usually so clumsy, either." She laughed, shaking her head at herself. She reached out to touch Nic's arm gently. "Thank you for saving me, yet again. I am forever in your debt." Calli winked, feeling a little loose- though she wasn't near drunk. Calli was taught how to handle herself but still drink dinner wine. It was just part of her raising.

Since Rob seemed to be too involved in his phone to do much else, and Diana was tapping out a novel on hers, Richard smiled and replied to her question easily. Thank gosh. Kanae had an excuse to stare at his perfect face now. She watched his eyes, bright blue circles taking her in. Her breathing hitched, it was so hard to focus on what he was saying. She didn't even care. Yeah, there were beaches, beautiful beaches, something about diving... Yeah, she grew up in the sea along Andor. She knew all about the damned beaches. They were gorgeous, because they took care of their land. That's why the kingdom was located so much closer to Andor than it was Bania. Bania had really nose dived, the beaches showed it. It was terrible... She'd really have to get Calli in on that one. Just because she wasn't going to live there didn't mean she wanted her family to die because of pollution. Apparently it was a huge problem up here and it explained a lot of the problems in the sea.
Tourism is big, there's basically everything you could ever want in the inner city. Yep. She knew this. But it was so much fun to stare at his face. And his mouth, his perfect teeth... that smile. Nae really was drunk. She was clearly losing it.
"FOCUS!
Oh, good. Rob and Diana were piping up too. That helped. She tore her eyes away from Richard and glanced over at the other prince and princess. But her gaze only dragged itself back to Richard.
"Bringing the two kingdoms together will be very beneficial." Javier cut into the silence. "Bania has fallen due to the kings lack of attention. He was very depressed, as you know, after his wife's tragic death. But it still has much to offer, as you know. The two kingdoms uniting will be the best thing to happen for both of our worlds. Andor has all the beauty and Bania has the resources." Both very true, as Nae had learned. Bania had stayed strong only due to its access to vast resources. The rich kept getting richer, while the poor fell under the radar.
"Well, I think Andor sounds absolutely lovely. I think all of those things sound like fun. I will have to venture on over there sometime this week." She smiled, then subtly winked at Richard, out of Javier's view. Nae bit her bottom lip, crossed one leg over the over, and sat up straighter. She tossed her curls over her shoulder, then sighed softly. She really needed to sober up. Her head felt like mush.
