"Yup, shower eeeeevery day. And I do! Otherwise I wouldn't offer, because then I would be homeless if I lived in Justus, duh." Marianne paused for a moment, hesitating.
"...Weeeell, it's less like 'my home'--that's overseas--and more like, uh....the local headquarters?" Mari gave a little giggle, scratching at the back of her neck. She was not very keen on letting anyone so close to her actual job, but she was certain she could keep the wool pulled over the Merchant's eyes. He was a mundane, so it would be a piece of cake.
Marianne sensed something weird from the Oak, noticing it glowing behind her. She craned her neck up to watch the light show that occurred, giving a little 'oooooh' at the fast approaching clouds. "That's called light, Merchant!" She cheerfully responded.
Marianne was silent for a long moment. Then she giggled at her own joke.
"Just kidding. That's two kids tapping into the power of a centuries old sleeping magician. "

Shanta hovered, watching the darkening sky. She could start to hear thunder; whatever those two were doing, it was working.
One beam of light, then another. Shanta had never seen someone use Merlin's power before. "Wow," she whispered.
Yani's words were still ringing in her ears. The thing was, though, she knew all that already. She knew it was fine to focus on her, she knew it was fine to cry and be selfish. She also knew that now wasn't the time for that. s**t was on fire, people were dying and there was a rogue dragon on the loose. Right now was the time for anything but herself. If she shut down and became selfish now, she wouldn't be of any use and would just feel guilty about being useless later. At least this way, she could act now and feel later.
Speaking of being useful... Shanta's ears twitched. She could hear thunder and the air was starting to get a bit more... electrified. Time for her to worry later, time for her to act now. Shanta closed her eyes and focused, really focused, on the air around her. She'd done this in lightning storms before, if she could just feel where the air got really charged just before it struck...
There. Shanta moved quickly, held out her hands, and hardly a second later the cloud sparked and lightning arced down to where Shanta was waiting. You can do this, it won't be like that time in the game. She managed to catch it, spun the arc around, and sent it flying back towards the light beams shooting up from the Oak, where it was absorbed as energy once again. Redirecting lightning wasn't really that tough, though she needed to be careful next time - her hands were smoking because she'd forgotten to protect them. No, it was transforming it that she was concerned about. Controlling the lightning was difficult; hell, just changing its direction was hard. Maybe if she forced her own will on it...
The hairs on the back of Shanta's neck stood up. She didn't have time; she had to get into position now. Shanta zoomed, her hands glowed, lightning sparked, and she caught it - but this time, she held onto it, forcing it to change. It wasn't as difficult as she thought it'd be, and before long she held a whirling, reddish ball of spinning energy. Now, who to give it to...
That wasn't a hard decision at all. Shanta glanced down below her at the group of Tomas, and she grinned. "Hey, Casimir!" she yelled, reeling back and throwing the ball of energy. "Heads up!"

Naomi adjusted Ari's aim, spreading the clouds evenly over the Academy grounds and Justus. The clouds grew darker still despite being spread thinner. Naomi could feel more moisture in the air around there, so with another push she dragged that into the cloud. The cloud got heavier, and Naomi wasn't sure how much longer she could hold it.
Then again, she didn't need to hold it. That was the whole point of doing this. "Here it comes," she murmured, feeling around in the clouds. Just a little more... just a little... Naomi touched something in just the right way, and something gave way.
The clouds opened, the sky rumbled, and it began to drizzle, and then sprinkle, and then rain, and then pour, shifting from lighter to harder in a matter of minutes. The fires began to sizzle out for good, and in the distance the orange glow from Justus began to die down.
Naomi felt the energy fade just a bit too fast - she was suddenly so tired it was dizzying to stand up. The girl dropped like a stone, sprawling out face-up on the grass under the Oak. The green beam of light slowly dissolved. Naomi had never felt this exhausted in her life; she was too worn out to move. Instead, she just lay there, letting the water hit her face.
And then, like a lot of people do when they avert a stressful situation, Naomi began to laugh. It was exhausted, and breathless, but for the first time in a long while it sounded genuine and upbeat. "We did it," she whispered, a grin splitting her face. "We - we did it!"

⊰aerykah - sampson⊱ Watching the lightning, hearing the roaring thunder, getting absolutely drenched and seeing Naomi and Ari look like they were on a ******** power trip was just too much. Sure, it was absolutely incredible that they were harnessing Merlin's power - said power that the Pact was after, no less - but she was slightly tired of them getting the attention. However, they were also slightly her superiors, so she let out a sigh and looked towards Marinna.
"I'm gonna go see if Runesteam needs an extra set of hands. I hear him groaning and although he does that constantly, it sounds more agitated than usual. Thanks for letting me help you put out some fires. Congratulate your daughter for me." she said, quickly. If Marinna followed, that would be fine, but Aery just wanted to be put to good use while the pickings were still good.
Going back to her original thought, about the pact - who let the dragon out anyway? Could it be them? Was that the information that James was after the Merch about? How to tame or release the legendary Black Dragon? ********, if it was, the Academy was likely screwed. That, and the fact that nobody had even decided to monitor where the dragon went. It could literally be halfway across the ocean causing forest fires and islands to be evacuated and nobody outside of magick society would even know why. Admittedly, that's sorta funny, but at the same time, I don't know what the Pact has planned...This can't be the end of them.
Almost walking into Runesteam, Aerykah caught notice of Shashi... with bodies on it? s**t. s**t,-- no, she didn't recognize either of the two bodies on it. "Healer Sampson in, where can I help, Professor?" the girl said, wiping the soaking wet strands of hair from her face. Downpours were ******** gross. Useful in this circumstance, but gross.
The Merchant frowned. Local headquarters? What an odd phrase to use for a home; he wondered if this was more magick bullshit. Probably. "I ain't imposin' on you, Mari. Don't want to be too far from Justus anyway." Truth be told, the Merchant had nowhere to go, and he suspected unless someone specifically offered he wouldn't be welcome on Merlin's campus once Justus was deemed safe to return to. He was pretty sure the hotel would be open to refugees, but he wasn't too keen on getting shoved into a room with some of the girls he'd invited to the back of his cart and their very angry boyfriends.
The Merchant looked up as the second beam shot up. He frowned. Two kids, using that much power? No ********' way that was possible, even if they were fourth years or, gods forbid, teachers. No two people could use that much power, unless... the Merchant's gaze flickered to the Oak itself. Tapping into the power of a centuries old... s**t. The old man had this much power after centuries? No wonder the Pact was lurking around here.
"Wait, what do you mean by local--"
The Merchant shut up as he was drenched in water. He resembled a large, wet dog, and smelled the part too.

Casimir Jaunius(who has yet to be bothered to have a layout)
Cas lifted their head to look at Gage, they shrugged. Not exactly sure what Shanta was planning but was willing to do anything to help out. "Sure i guess? I think i'm fine enough now" It had been say, several minutes and their yet energy had already replenished enough to act on their own without assistance. Still, being held in Gage's arms wasnt that bad so cas figured they'd remain for the meantime.
Cas could only stare as dual column of light pierced the into the skies from the tree, easily pinpointing the culprits from the colours. "oh boy, this is gonna be interesting." They whistled lowly, mind clicking into place as dark storm clouds grew more and more prominent in the sky, accompanied by a very audible rumble. Oooh so that's what they need me for. That's kind of insulting but i'll take it.
A blinding flash in the air caused them to look for its source, locating Shanta just as she redirected the bolt into the light. "Nice." They said to no one in particular, stopping as their and Shanta's stares met. Cas readied themselves, fingers bent to accept the energy. Already, Shanta's ball was barreling towards them when the thought occurred. Oh yeah that's right, Gage is pretty much a huge ******** lightning conductor Breaking formation, Cas squeezed themselves tight and twisted out of the metal arms, before promptly using Gage's chest to springboard into the air, hopefully shoving him back and away from the lightning. Ah. I'm gonna have to buy him something for that. Cas thought midair before rolling onto the ground, immediately stopping on one knee as they stuck their arm out, index and middle finger pointed straight out to catch the lightning.
It hit and Cas grunted, immediately feeling energy surge throughout their body and course through their veins, they felt invigorated as if the lightning was replenishing the gaps in her magical energy with itself (it was a safe bet to say it probably was.) However, with the sudden diversion, Cas had dropped concentration and now had barely a second to redirect and release it. Instead of letting it be absorbed into the light still pulsing from the tree, Cas could only let it go into the air above, releasing it and watching as it arced through the sky, briefly illuminating the grounds as the smell of ozone permeated.
They exhaled in relief as having redirected it harmlessly in time, hands tingling and vaguely smoking, tiny left over traces of lightning still arced and danced from their eye. Remembering the friend they had rather rudely jumped off of, Cas scrambled to get up as rain began to fall with a pitter patter before steadily getting heavier, almost drenching the courtyard. Setting up a bubble, they ran over to Gage(?), attempting to get most of his huge a** frame within the charm.
As soon as the rain hit Ari's neck, she let go of the tree. The lack of energy flowing through her body felt like a hard punch to the face, and in the same manner Naomi dropped Ari fell to her knees. The dark pink beam of light disappeared.
They had done what they needed to do.
Ari stared at the wet grass, watching the water run down in between her knuckles, hands pressed flat against the ground so she wouldn't topple over the same way Naomi did. Holy s**t.
Beside her, she could hear Naomi laughing. A small smile appeared on her face of it's own accord, and despite Ari trying to push it away it stayed there.
"I am so graduating early," Ari informed Naomi, before promptly collapsing onto the ground. _
Gage's eyebrows furrowed a little at the sight of the beams of light, nodding in agreement to Cas's statement. What was those two up to this time-
He was about to question Cas's statement of 'nice' when the other twisted suddenly in his arms, forcing him to release them--and then stumble back, suddenly lacking breath. He actually looked surprised, certainly not accustomed to being shoved back by....by anything, really, or at least not anymore.
Gage watched in shock as the lightning lit up the grounds, one hand brushing off the dirt Cas's shoe had gotten on his shirt. Then it suddenly started pouring, and the beams of light in the sky disappeared, and Gage realized that Cas had probably been doing something fairly important. So that's what Shanta had meant.
"Thanks." Gage told Cas, bending his knees a tiny bit as the charm enveloped the both of them. He stood still for a moment, considering Cas in front of him, and then reached out and lightly pat their head. "Good job."
"Oh, headquarters isn't actually all that far--" Marianne responded, cut off by the rain suddenly pouring down. She was too lazy to put up an improb around herself, still feeling the effects of the overuse of magic she had pulled off earlier. Not to mention they had gotten to Merlin through use of the sewers, hadn't they? She was not going to base smelling like sewage.
Marianne made a point of not answering Merchant's question, grinning rather meanly as she covered her nose and pointed in the Merchant's face."Wow, you really are like a big dog! You smell like one too!"
「 Muna immediatly had another improb up as soon as the clouds began to get darker, this one covering over a wider span of area so End and Bijan were protected by it as well. Muna squinted as lightning lit up the courtyard, face turned in End's general direction in case the older boy had something to say.
As the beams of light finally disappeared from the sky and the rain started to hit the improb, Muna released a long sigh. Everyone was safe. Or at least everyone Muna cared about. The rain increased in ferocity, and Muna strengthened the improb as Bijan swore about 'death from the sky' under his breath. The fairy was looking at the top of the improb.
As the last of the fire died out, Muna felt his shoulders slump. The day was over, and everything had gone smoothly. It was all done.
Everything had gone wrong and nothingwasdoneitwasallhisfa
Swallowing back the thick, sour feeling in the back of his throat, Muna turned his head towards End.
☼☀yvønne☀☼☾tømas-øne☽✦ʜᴜᴍᴀɴ✦ ₕ ₖ ₗ ₘ ₙ ₚ ₛ ₜ Yvonne had never had such an out-of-body experience. She could barely keep her eyes open with this GOSH DARN BIRD and its GOSH DARN REFUSAL to fly above the rain! Still, she had to admit, this was probably one of the most beautiful things she'd even seen. The sky lit up with brilliant flashes that painted their way across the sky with the unrestrained streaks of an artist in their prime.
She sat on the back of a large magic bird as she got closer to the high stone walls that marked the school. Once she could see over them, she was shocked to find the scene before her.
There were lots of students around, but lots of ruinous buildings as well. Oddly enough, they appeared to be the ones controlling the storm she rode through!
"Whoa," she breathed. "So that's what real magic looks like?"
The suitcases in her hands nearly slid when the bird she was riding dived and stuck the landing in a fairly clear patch of open grass. Her thighs lost their grip and she slid to the ground in a messy heap. The sophomoric bird cawed at her once before dropping her biggest bag that it had had in its talons and taking off again. She stood up and squeezed what water she could from her clothes and pushed her thick, white, sopping wet hair out of her eyes while wondering whom she should speak to first. ₕ ₖ ₗ ₘ ₙ ₚ ₛ ₜ

Naomi didn't even have the strength to roll over and face Ari; she just grinned at the sky. It had worked. For once she'd made a stupid, heat-of-the-moment plan that had worked. Despite the bleak situation, and the fact that there was a deadly dragon on the loose, Naomi felt more upbeat than she had in quite a while.
However, just because she was in a good mood didn't necessarily mean they were out of the woods yet. "We need to... check out the dorms," she said, "except I can't ******** move. My guess, though, is that Ekat and Lucian are in the best condition. I think I saw Janus's roof collapse and Tomas dorms are... well, destroyed." They needed to talk to the other reps, but...
Naomi couldn't move. She was simply too exhausted, and she was willing to bet Ari was the same. Shanta, End, and Aerykah would have to come to them.
Ari replied with a groan. She could barely move, and the grass underneath her head felt gross, but she really didn't care. God, if only she could reach her phone. She could take the best selfie right now.
She was silent as Naomi continued talking, already thinking about the future. What the hell were they gonna do about that dragon? They couldn't just magic up a rain storm the next time it decided to burn something down. Not that Ari was going to get involved with a ******** dragon. The sight of the thing already made her hate it.
Ari didn't respond to Naomi, squinting up at the sky. "...Was that a ******** bird?"_

YES SEE JEN MY SUGGESTION WAS GOOD GIANT BIRDS FTWWWWWWWW
The Merchant frowned, shrugging his stained trenchcoat on a little better. This was some downpour - he wondered if the kid's fairy would be okay. Probably. He was probably swearing his tiny fairy a** somewhere. Heh.
"You don't smell too keen yourself, Miss Sewage," the Merchant replied, letting himself get drenched. It had been a good while since he'd taken a shower anyway. "Anyway, thanks for the offer but if somethin' gets offered that's closer to town, I'm takin' that instead." Truth be told, the closer he was to town the less likely he would end up running into the Merchant. So long as he could avoid that--
...The Merchant sat up and squinted. "The ******** is an overgrown chicken flyin' in here fo- is that a person?" Talk about bad timing.

Galan glanced up as he unceremoniously ripped the corkscrew out of Tadion's stomach; the blood began to flow faster but with a few waves he managed to stop it. The Aura worked from the inside out to start patching Tadion up; it would be slow and truth be told the healing professor wasn't actually sure the guy was saveable. But hey, wasn't like he couldn't try.
"You can--" he started to say, and then the rain began to fall. And it got very heavy very quickly. In a matter of moments Galan was soaked to the bone. "...you can..." Galan glanced over at the other two house reps that were collapsed at the base of the Oak. Was the green one laughing? Eesh. "You know what? Go check out the ********' dorms. I don't think the other two are in a state to do jack s**t. Doesn't look like anyone else was ********' dumb enough to hurt themselves 'cept Thakkar, and I gotta disinfect her ********' arms before doin' anything."
