Adrienne focused on Torvo, well, at least it wasn't small talk. That's how most of her conversations went lately, dull and uninformative. It seemed like he wanted to actually know a little about her, a strange thing as no one ever really asked. "My parents found work closer to here..." She folded her hands in her lap. "Before they use to work over seas, it's reassuring having them closer." She finished softly. Wait a minute, had that slipped her mouth? That wasn't meant to happen, though it was only partially the truth. Even only being a couple hours from her now, she still never saw them really. She had gotten her pick of the schools, had looked around and visited many and chose this one, liking the overall serenity of it, not to mention the size and grandeur of the library.

Adrienne shifted in her chair, why did she feel like opening up so badly, was it because she never did? Built up the emotions for so long that she really needed someone to confide it. "When I was little, I can remember that they were always around. We did everything together. Their careers, they keep them pretty busy now." She paused a moment, thinking over her next words, "I've been pretty much living on my own since I was 11." They provided her a place to stay and covered rent and food expenses. She remembered the apartment complex. Luckily, next door was a family close to her parents, they kind of took her in and she grew up with their daughter like they were sisters. Only recently did her parents move out this way. They invited her to come and she believed that maybe they would actually live as a real family, but to no avail. They were too busy, her mother a photographer and her father an architect.

When she was little, her mother use to photograph her all the time, she recalled. On the rare occasions her mother came home it was still the same thing. She figured, they must want to see her, why else does anyone take pictures? She received copies in the mail of family photos and once in a while the occasional letter, even rarely a phone call. Many children loathed their parents, being around all the time, being nosey or 'ruining their lives'. She never really got to experience any of that.

Adrienne returned the smile softly a moment before gasping and looking down in embarrassment 'I'm rambling, I'm sorry you probably don't want to hear about this." As she said this, she wondered about him though as well "Why did you choose this academy?" she asked just as the waitress brought over their food.

Adrienne looked startled at such a bold statement it left her speechless for a moment before she swallowed hard and finally worked up the words stuck in her throat. "E-excuse me?"

Adrienne nibbled at her lower lip. It wasn't a lack of hearing, it was a lack of understanding on her end "I don't know...what you mean. That's kind of morbid." It wasn't her place to pry but he threw it out so openly..

Adrienne curled and uncurled her fists in her lap. Dear god, how oblivious could one person be. This boy truly had a one track mind and as soon as that thought had been announced it flew from the mind and vanished. At least, that's how she felt right now. "No, I mean your reason for moving sounded morbid." she attempted to say flatly to him.

Adrienne watched him carefully. It sounded as though he'd been on his own as well, as he brought up no mention of parents as well. How interesting it was, learning about the different reasons people really came to this school. On the outside there were many superficial reasons but deep down, how many others were actually having troubles like herself or Torvo, in which they had no other choice. "Oh, look, our food is here" she mentioned as the girl placed the plates on the table before them.

Adrienne couldn't take it anymore, she stared at her food, forming her phrasing mentally before saying it aloud "How can you still smile after saying all that....doesn't it bother you?"
