Shang was ready when she charged at him, but than she crumbled and he too quickly forgot the spar. He quickly went over to her, coming down to his knee instantly in doctor mode. He knew it was possible any of them might get hurt during this exercise, he just hadn't thought it would be the person he was fighting.
"Hey you okay," he asked, "do you mind if I take a look at it. I'm a doctor. I work in the ER at Destiny City Memorial Hospital," he said wanted to reassure the girl that he wasn't just some guy who thought he knew something about first aid and didn't.

"The magic we cats do?" she parroted, tilting her head slightly before realizing what Sessrumnir was talking about. When she realized he was talking about the energy from the star upon her forehead, she giggled. "Maybe if we were able to have unlimited ammo for our abilities we'd be an unstoppable force... but that is not the case." With a firm nod (and jingle of her collar to accent the motion), she did mention "However, it never benefits someone to underestimate a cat!"
Especially those silly cats that could talk.
The feline made sure to take a decent distance away from the mat once it was set down, and merely sat her tailless rump down. She was there to watch and occasionally offer critique. Nothing more, nothing less.
Irene was the first one to make a move, which the Mauvian found interesting considering the girl's stance upon fighting in general. Perhaps it was only because she knew that this was a training exercise that she was willing to start, rather than wait to react.

Unfortunately for Pompeii, Luxor was on balance and weighted by his muscular frame. He felt her tugging at his arm and bent, but did not go down, pulling at his wrist to free it from her hold.
He didn't follow up with any sort of attack, though, not sure what constituted winning in fights like these. He had never really been a magical being before, after all, so it was all new to him. He half wondered if he never should have followed that senshi here, but then again, he was getting help and he was learning.
Still.
There was so much to take in. He thought it was complicated enough and it just kept getting more and more so. There was no way to stop things from just popping up and changing. From one senshi to the next, to space cats and other knights.
And all this was just going on the whole time? People just lived here and this was normal? On top of it all, he was getting cold. Damn it. Chaonis grunted but he seemed pleased enough. He would train anyone that asked, if only because he usually had to pick out his own targets to aid by force, rather than having them come to him of their own free will.
The change might be nice, and he could probably get away with making her do some crazy things in the name of challenge and betterment. After all, she was already ranked, though how he was not sure since she could definitely not fight, so he expected more out of her.
"Alright, it's settled. I'll help you out." He didn't mention what he expected in return. Maybe he just hadn't thought of it yet.

Pompeii hit the mat softer then she would have before she had tried to pull Luxor down on her. Once on the mat she didn't really think about it but started to lashed out with her foot in the direction of his knee. She stopped immediately and sat up. She apparently had more of a fighting sprit then she thought but still a boot to the side of the knee was painful if Pompeii misjudged and just scraped his leg but potentially serious since it is always possible that with enough force you could break the knee. Pompeii claimed to her feet and cleared her throat softly. "Um... so you have some idea how to fight," while she had only what she read in books. That would be the next thing she would research, how to fight hand to hand. There were so many different fighting techniques so with a bit of patience she should be able to pick up something. "Uh, now what? Do we keep trying to hit each other?" Would it be weird to ask him if maybe they could have more sparing practices since he knew what he was doing?

The pain on Ida's face disappeared when Shang knelt down beside her, a small, sad smile appearing as she gave him a soft punch in the side. "Gotcha."
Gathering her feet under her, she pushing herself up to stand. The flower senshi brushed the back of her skirt off and offered a hand to the page to help him up in turn. "You have to be careful, Shangri-La..." Ida said softly, her voice and face serious. "Not all of them are nice. If they need to pretend to be something else, to get close to you, they will. And then they're rip out your starseed and that will be the end of it. Some won't even bother to pretend and will run you down when you try to escape..."
Feeling herself start to get emotional over her own memories, she stopped herself there and pressed her hand to her side, taking a calming breath. "I'm sorry I tricked you... I just wanted to show you that you have to be careful when you're in the middle of a fight. Don't let your guard down, even if you're trying to be helpful. I'm gonna go sit down for a little bit until they're ready to switch partners." She said as she offered him her hand again, this time to shake. "It was nice sparring with you."

Luxor frowned.
"I think that's enough for one night. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of this. I'm not even sure why I'm here." In many different ways. He looked around and saw the senshi that had dragged him here, deciding they were not going to be friends. He looked at Pompeii, his expression serious.
He had some trouble smiling. It wasn't the most natural thing to him and he was not sure why. He was not a mean guy, at least not unless he lost his temper. But he wasn't the most friendly, either.
If this was a group business, as it seemed to be, he would have to learn how to get along with people a bit better. Not just as business associates and possible patrons, but as friends and allies. That was foreign to him right now.
"I appreciate you helping me, though. I've never done anything like this before, and I think... I need all the help I can get, I guess."

Ah! That was enough to do it. Just tease them about their fate-picked outfits and a reaction is given! Sessrumnir’s grin widened in amusement as she attacked, blocking the thrust of her hand, and giving a quick shove to try and push her back as she went for a lower blow.
“You’re still too tense. Lighten up. You can’t just react to things that upset you,” he said, having obviously been waiting for what it would take to trigger her to act. Even though it had been a while since he’d had close-combat drills, he kept enough with him from bootcamp basics to tide him over.
He didn’t attempt a counter attack, instead watching to make sure she had her footing, ready to reach out and grab her if she looked like she was going to stumble and fall. Part of him wondered why he was bothering to try and help her, other than the fact that this was a training exercise, and regardless of how serious many people seemed to be taking it, he thought there might actually be some usefulness in it all.
“Take a deep breath and try again,” he said, getting into a defensive stance. “You’re not bad for never having fought before. You’ve made it this far, so I’ve got no doubt you know what you’re doing.” He glanced over to where the cat had taken up residence, flashing her something that could have either been a grin or a smirk. “It’s best not to underestimate anyone in this war, is it?” (Sorry about the wait!! QQ )

Girl?
Woman.
Lassell’s foot succeeded in hitting it’s target; Palatine stumbled back in a failed attempt to avoid it, though she at least managed to remain upright rather than careening to the floor. She regained her balance easily enough and quickly sprang forward again, but she had no idea how she wanted to go about continuing this pathetic little scuffle and made a blind grab for whatever part of him she could reach with the intention of… who knows. Shaking him. Shoving him. She couldn’t really decide what would be best. He was too young for her to feel comfortable going all out or trying to get creative.
Maybe if he was a little more rude.
Or smug.
Or just… you know… maybe more intimidating.
“Being graceful has absolutely nothing to do with being female,” she countered, a bit perturbed, but she brushed it off for the time being.
“This isn’t going to work if you’re too… nervous or afraid to hit me,” Palatine said instead, completely ignoring the fact that she was just as uncomfortable about it as he seemed to be. “Or maybe you consider yourself a gentleman, I have no idea, but I can take care of myself and I wouldn’t’ve come here if I didn’t want to get hit. If you want some combat skills you’re going to have to put a little more effort into it than that, okay?”

Lassell, now discovering what ticked her off was debating whether or not to keep going with it "well, sue for having limited knowledge on what women have to go through" he told her before dodging her hand that was aiming to grab something. "its not like..I know..I may have a sister and a mother but that doesn't necessarily mean I know much" he told her.
"that's something we both agree on" he said "as a matter of fact yes I do consider myself to be gentleman and I'm aware that the idea of morals would be thrown out the window becoming a knight but its not as easy as it seems. It was hard enough getting over the fact that I had to spar with a lady like yourself" he stated. "I'm aware I'm going to have to put more effort into it if I want combat power" he said before taking a second to think about it. At the same time Palatine was trying to encourage him, he aimed a punch for her torso.

He just blinked. What happened was just so weird, but he was very glad that the other senshi came to rescue him. "That Senshi bit me! BIT ME!" he said dusting himself off after grabbing the senshi hand and pulling himself up.
"She rabid! I think something isn't right with her! She's too rough! " he paused to let out a long sigh, "But thank you for helping but just please tell me you can keep that girl away from me. I don't trust her." he said narrowing his eyes staring at the other chibi senshi.

Well that was just terrible. If Alfheim had been blessed with normal shoes like a decent knight, he probably would've laughed off the attack as fighting like a girl, because seriously, bro, slap on a pair of heels and then it was lethal.
Except he was not, he had not, and he couldn't because he was too busy yelling out as the heel of Chaldene's actual shoe wasn't even dulled by the soft leather sock his ancestors apparently called 'shoes'.
"Jesus ******** Christ," He grimaced, actually pulling back to grab his foot and hope nothing was seriously kinked up.
Next time he went to his wonder, he was finding that ancestor of his and explaining the definition of 'shoe' so ******** hard.
Columba was stunned when Maia pulled her off of her tiny pile of prey. "What?" She said, drawing out her tone like she usually did when challenging the authority of a teacher at school. "You said we were s'posed to be fighting! It's not my fault he's a lump!"
She glared right back at the blonde boy. "I gave you fair warning, buttface! It's not my fault you fight like a giant hambeast!" She practically shouted over the distance between them.

Zia was trying to ignore Pompeii and Luxor after her little whoopsie that was less helpful than she imagined. She did catch Shangri La about to-- was he? Yup. She kept her mouth shut, though. And it was so hard to keep her mouth shut.
And then he totally fell for it and went down. She still planned on keeping her mouth shut, but her eyes quickly darted around for Maia. But Maia was busy with two bickering chibi senshi.
It just came bursting out when she couldn't physically keep it in anymore.
"Seriously, Shang?! I know she's cute but she's not a delicate wilting flower, god." Irony for the senshi of orchids, but it was only the oldest trick in the book.

Shang looked surprised at being punch in the side, blinking once than twice before he started to laugh. He really should have seen that one coming. It appeared Ida had won this match and not only that he was being lectured about it too. He flushed feeling like an idiot and took the hand offered to help him stand. He nodded at her words even though he wasn't about to pull a move like that against the enemy, but he almost had, so he kept quiet.
Shang looked throughly confused at the addition of Zia's voice and looked back and forth between Ida, who was walking away to sit down and Zia who was yelling at him.
"She's not, I mean, I'm not. Er I mean I thought she hurt her ankle. Seriously Im a doctor, I can't help it," he said the last bit mumbled. He already felt like an idiot falling for trick, but it was just a spar right. No big deal. Goodness he felt so young at the moment and decided he really hated this kind of sparring more that one on one. At least than his embarrassment was his own.

Everything felt lighter, somehow, when Shang started to laugh, an answering smile appearing on Ida's face. A lot of her tension and nerves sort of melted away, leaving her feeling like a little weight had been lifted. She was really glad he wasn't mad at her, or upset over the trick she pulled.
Zia's shouted comment had her blushing hard as she made for the sidelines, her hands self-consciously tucking her hair behind her ears. That was silly... of course he wasn't helping because she was cute. Like he said, he was a doctor in his civilian life, it was only natural to want to help someone who was hurt, even if it was all a trick.
Finding the wall, she slid down it to sit on the floor with her legs stretched out in front of her, knees together and feet splayed. One hand pressed to her side, she sighed and leaned back against the wall, letting her eyes wander to the other sparring matches. There were varying degrees of success and enthusiasm for them, making her wonder at how disorganized they all were. Sure, Maia and Pandora had organized this training match, but there weren't really clear leaders in any of this. From her own experience, she knew that new senshi were for the most part on their own in the world, forced to pick up any knowledge they could in sometimes random places. Sure, there was the primer, but that wasn't as much of a catch all as you'd think.
It was food for thought... surely there was a better way to go about this than throwing a new senshi into the deep end of the pool to teach them how to swim.

"Good. I just don't fight. Ask me about history or art or books in general, I know it but fighting?" Pompeii self-consciously rubbed her arms in a nervous fashion. She watched as the other groups still fought or ended their matches and rested. There are so many.... She didn't know there was this many fighters for 'good' in the city and she felt a chill run up her spine as she contemplated how many fighters for 'evil' there were if there were this many order members. One of the things Pompeii had picked up from her 'research' into the comic book realms was good might always triumph over evil but evil normally had more minions on its side. "Hum?" She had drifted into her own slightly morbid thoughts when Luxor's voice brought her back. He looks so serious. Then again who wouldn't when faced with the physical manifestation of evil. "Oh, yeah. Its not like I did anything but fall on my a**. I think Maia can help with the whole fighting thing but..." She hesitated. Did she really have the guts to ask him to spar with her again. "Well, if you want," she blushed and hugged herself close, It never hurts to ask. What is the worst that can happen? He says no? "We could do this again some time. You know the whole sparing thing. Being trounced by a fellow newbie has to be better then being flattened by someone like Maia."
