Kaoru ✺ Masako███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❝...Within the мση†ħ of ₳prїℓ, Love is §мéℓℓїηġ §ωéé†ℓy...❞ ((I think Dae's helping more than he realizes~ I actually had an elaborate tantrum set up, but Dae's kind words are slowly healing Kao <3))
Kaoru was smiling faintly at the kindness of Dae-hyun’s words. He always felt so warm around him, but he couldn’t let that get ahead of him. Kaoru was too scared to let something like that take over him again. He tried to keep quiet, wanting to hold Dae’s lingering words to heart. “You always know what to say and how, don’t you?” He muttered, hoping the other would take it as a compliment.
Kaoru was in some awe that Dae had offered such a generous thing; a backstage look to one of Dae’s performances? What a wonderful treasure! To hear his voice, not from CD, but live would be wonderful. Kaoru would take on a his fear of crowds or his fear of open spaces if it meant he could have such a gift. “I’d love to hear you sing. I’m sure it’d be… wonderful.” Beautiful, majestic, grandiose… Wha word could he choose? “I think it’d be a little scary… You know, the tight crowds of people… But I could just hang out in the back, like you said. Big concerts, with millions of people, though... I think I’d faint.” He tried to laugh, but it sounded more bitter than he meant it. Though, he would keep up as long as he could simply for this man to sing. Kaoru’s obsession, he felt, was beginning to take some strange new form. He loved him, Kaoru knew this, but it was starting to feel different.
In al honesty, Kaoru was sad but relieved to hear the snake was out of Dae’s home. Sad because the other seemed to be so for being unable to care for his pet, but of course relief that he no longer had to lie. His lies were behind him, and he was glad. “Disappointed? I wouldn’t say that… But I’m glad she has a new home.” Kaoru murmured. Along with his shopping, Kaoru was feeling almost frightened. He hadn’t known why, entirely, himself. With the pot to his chest, he looked up to Dae as the taller boy asked him about his seeds. “They didn’t have much but… Ah, purple hyacinths, and some carnations. I don’t know what colours the carnations will be but that depends on the soil, sometimes..” He smiled softly but did not look the other man in the eye. He was only glad to be leaving, even though he had such a wonderful time with Dae.
Through the car ride, Kaoru was still tight, but getting home was relief. He unstrapped himself from the car and shut the door behind him quickly, only to be topped by the voice of Dae-hyun. He tuned to him slowly, holding his items lie they were treasures. “It was… fun… Thanks.” He said with a smile.
Kaoru began to shake as he felt a deep grief begin to swell up inside him. Swallowing to keep his mouth from going dry, Kaoru began to sink to the ground. “Dae…” He called quietly. “I made a big mistake… I killed them. All of them...” He went on. “I forgot to pot them, dig them from the ground. My new kitchen is added to the front of my house, on top of my flowers.” Kaoru’s voice cracked as he buckled, his forehead touched the soft grass. He covered his mouth with his arm, muffling a scream. He stood up and ran to his house, throwing the seed packets in the grass by his uprooted garden, by the plants that set the skeleton of his new addition, and slammed the door shut behind him. He screamed again, his throat already dry. He kicked over his coffee table, toppling it over. He threw his pot at the wall and it shattered in large shards before he fell to his couch, hiding his face in the cushions while covering his painful cries. Kaoru kicked the arm of the couch as he lay there, trying to hold back a tantrum.

+Where's the door again...?+ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~((Heh. Dae has no idea he's helping except for getting Kaoru used to crowds and cars. XD Other than that, he's clueless. He isn't used to people like Kaoru; he hangs with a different crowd, so he doesn't understand Kaoru very well. Or at least, he doesn't think he does. : ) He's naturally nurturing, though, which I guess helps.))Watching Kaoru, Dae hyun frowned. It was obvious Kaoru was shaking all over, but what was wrong? Hadn't they had fun? And wasn't he relieved to be back home, out of the crowds and car?
After hearing Kaoru through all the way, Dae hyun could only sigh. Although he didn't think it was such a big deal, it was obvious how much Kaoru had cared for those flowers, and now...
Watching calmly as Kaoru threw a fit, Dae hyun waited until he had finished and run inside the house before picking up the seed packets from the grass and letting himself inside. It seems Kaoru had been too upset to even lock the door. Flipping the coffee table back upright, Dae hyun set the gardening supplies down and looked over at the shards of pot on the carpet. He shook his head; it would have to wait until later.
Sitting down on the couch on the sliver of empty space next to Kaoru, Dae hyun rubbed the other man's back with one hand, trying to comfort him. "Hey now, it isn't all that bad. Aren't flowers always dying and being reborn from their seeds or roots? Well, you know, even in cultures that believe in reincarnation, there's a point at which the cycle must end. But that's never a sad time; it's the moment when a being reaches nirvana. Even if they've been crushed and won't grow back, you cared for them so well that they never wanted for anything. I'm sure it was just their time. And besides, what good is it to dwell on past mistakes? That isn't how you fix something.
"If you need help building a new garden, just ask. You know when I work, but I'd be glad to lend a hand in my free time if you need it." Wondering if he'd said too much, Dae hyun smiled kindly down at Kaoru, still rubbing his back. Was it helping? It was hard to know. As much as he tried, Dae hyun just couldn't figure Kaoru out most of the time, and the man always seemed reluctant to ask for help before he exploded. Still, if this was all he could do, he would try his best. Seeing Kaoru in such a state and knowing that no one else would be there to help him was all Dae hyun needed to steel his resolve. No one should have to be alone. Of that, he was certain.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~+...And who are you supposed to be?+

Kaoru ✺ Masako███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❝...Within the мση†ħ of ₳prїℓ, Love is §мéℓℓїηġ §ωéé†ℓy...❞ ((Uwaa~ Dae's adorable and I'm sure Kao appreciates it <3))
Kaoru was too caught up in his own self-loathing that he was startled to feel someone’s hand on his back. He peeked with his fevered face to see Dae. Kaoru mumbled something incoherent but listened to Dae, wiping his face. Flowers, they die all the time. Of course they do, but these wouldn’t ever bloom again! Kaoru honestly didn’t want to listen to any of this, but he had anyway. The other’s words were soothing and Kaoru had stopped trembling. Past is past, but now is now and leads to the future, then. A terrible habit of Kao’s to dwell on the past.
Dae had such kind words to say. Nirvana; paradise? Kaoru slowly sat up, he enjoyed the feeling of Dae’s light touch. His smile was so warming. Kaoru was hesitant but he leaned closer, his arm delicately touching Dae’s shoulder as if trying not to scare the man away. Kaoru after a moment touched his head to Dae’s shoulder and loosely held himself to the youth’s arm.
“I…” Started Kaoru nervously. “I’d like that… Replanting my garden. It’d be nice to have one under a kitchen window.” Kaoru rubbed his cheek and red eyes. How silly, to have caused such a scene over little flowers.
Kaor, now calming down, tore himself away from Dae-hyun. He didn’t want to touch him for too long; who knows what he would try to the poor man. Trying to find courage, he stammered, “I really like you, Dae-hyun. You’re so nice to me.” Although it was hard to say, Kaoru finally decided to ask, “Could you… help me? It took so long to make my garden, but with your help, it can be twice as fast.” Kaoru smiled sheepishly, still scared of something he wasn’t sure of himself. Rubbing his face for the last time, he stood ad left Dae’s side, picking up the fragments of the pot he had gotten. He had many more, but he thought it wouldn’t hurt to get another. He set them carefully on the table and strode into the bathroom to wash his face and hands.
Coming out of the bathroom, Kaoru murmured, “I think I’ll clean up and start with these seeds to pot first. Dae, I… I had fun. I like hanging out with you. I know I can’t really.. Socialize well, but it’s hard and I’m trying. I just wanted to say thanks for being so patient with me.” Kaoru honestly wondered why Dae was even around him anymore. Too trusting, too kind. It hurt him once, so long ago, But Kaoru couldn’t ever d such a terrible thing again. At least, he hoped he couldn’t.
Kaoru felt a strange pang in his chest and placed his hand over his heart. His heartbeat was erratic, but that was normal for being around the handsome youth that had continued to stay around him. Learning about this boy in a more ‘normal’ way was much better than stalking him from afar, especially if this was the kindness Kaoru was to be given.

+Where's the door again...?+ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~((He is, isn't he? XD That's what I love about him.))Smiling once Kaoru had managed to pull himself back together and walk speaking coherently, Dae hyun said, "Yeah, and you can remake it however you want now without worrying about where to move already planted things."
Watching Kaoru carefully just in case, Dae hyun said, "I know. And I'd be glad to help out. I've never really done any gardening myself, so it'll be a learning experience for me, but I'm sure I'd still be of some help, even to a pro like you."
While Kaoru was in the bathroom, Dae hyun looked at the pot shards on the table. Most of them were still large and recognizable, and Dae hyun had a compulsion to try and piece them back together, though he knew they wouldn't hold without glue. Struck with an idea, he gathered the shards carefully and placed several into each of the large pockets on his pants. Wondering if Kaoru would notice, Dae hyun went over to the spot where they had originally fallen and picked up some unsalvageable dust and slivers and threw them into the trash just as Kaoru emerged.
Nodding an smiling, Dae hyun got the feeling that Kaoru was just as confused as he was about how they were still hanging out with one another. "It's no problem. I've got plenty of experience with people who aren't good socially, and I really don't mind helping you go out to places like the mall. It was really fun. And besides...no one should have to be alone, you know? And...I'm alone, and you're alone. It just seems natural, right? So let me know if you ever need any help." Leaving with a wave, Dae hyun hurried over to his own house.
Setting the pot shards out on the kitchen table, Dae hyun turned his pockets inside-out to dust them off before getting ready to go out. Luckily, it wasn't his turn to be designated driver, so he wouldn't have to worry about driving any more for the night. Plus, he'd really be able to actually relax and enjoy himself.((Err, timeskip or something? I wasn't really sure where to go next. O.o))~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~+...And who are you supposed to be?+

Kaoru ✺ Masako███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❝...Within the мση†ħ of ₳prїℓ, Love is §мéℓℓїηġ §ωéé†ℓy...❞ ((if you would prefer to skip to the actual planting part, I think it's a bit obvious Kaoru might take 5 minutes just trying to ask and still not end up asking directly~ But at least he's starting to conquer all his little fears! <3 ))
"I'm alone, and you're alone. It just seems natural..." Kaoru had thought of this and it seemed to be stuck in his head. He almost couldn't help the soft tint on his cheeks from his subtle yet growing cheerfulness.
Kaoru had begun to feel less inadequate since Dae left. Sitting on his couch, he noticed his broken pot was gone. Standing, he wondered if he had in fact picked it up in the first place. Surely, it was gone, not even in the place he had thrown it. The smaller pieces were also gone. He had bought it, hadn't he? As a matter of fact, there was a slight extra jingle in Dae's pockets... Kaoru decided not to think too hard. He could buy a new one and there was still plenty of time before he would be able to actually grow anything.
Throughout the week, it was hard to work with the constant noise, but he was satisfied with the work being built. He wasn't quite the handyman himself, so appliances were built in for him upon order. Kaoru was grateful to have his own kitchen. Maybe he could finally give himself a better diet rather than order takeout the times he remembered to eat. During the same week, he had added some extra decorations, such as a large butterfly made of photos of butterflies in his newly built kitchen. He was also able to replace some of the broken contents in his bedroom, such as his desk and desk chair. The man hardly ever spent anything, other than a few bills, so he had no worry for over spending.
The kitchen was painted with deep purple walls and wooden cabinets. Yellow accented a few things here or there. Except for an occasional peek, he hardly had gone outside at all. With a finished kitchen, now he can begin a brand new garden! He hoped the seeds he kept survived and had not been stunted. He made his way outside. Most of the grass around the edge of his reformed home had been dug up, which was actually easier considering he needed to do it anyway to plant anything. He made sure each plant would be properly spaced and even took some of the plants he had begun to grow inside from their pots.
Before he would be getting any further, he looked across the street. He fought with himself. Dae had promised he would help if Kaoru asked of it.. But Kaoru still didn't want to bother him for something so small. One one hand, planting by himself would possibly take til late evening. Planting with Dae would cut the time in half, and he'd be able to spend time with the other. Kaoru considered it and dusted himself off. He stared at the street like it was a monster about to eat him before he sprinted the short distance. The quiet neighbourhood never really had cars drive about, but Kaoru just always seemed to have that kind of terrible luck. It seems light was shining on him today!
It took Kao a few minutes to encourage himself to actually just knock on Dae's door. He stood far enough away from the door in case it opened towards the outside, but comfortably far enough from the street to feel safe.

+Where's the door again...?+ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Agreeing to come out an help, since he had nothing else to do, Dae hyun excused himself for a minute before heading over to join Kaoru, who was already preparing to start.
Out from behind his back, Dae hyun pulled the pot Kaoru had smashed against the wall the day they had come back from the mall. He'd glued it back together, and painted it purple with a silver lip. "I figured you'd either just throw it away or try to fix it, so I thought I'd do it for you. You know...uhh..." Dae had meant to say something. What, he wasn't quite sure himself. He wanted to mention that Kaoru probably didn't have anyone doing him favors often, but it seemed a bit rude when he thought about it. Instead, he hastily added, "I hope that's okay."
Handing over the pot, Dae stood awkwardly and looked around at the various gardening tools, wondering how much work it actually would be. Would it take them more than a day? Thinking of how lonely it would be to work on something like that without any help, Dae hyun smiled and asked, "So what can I help with? I gotta admit, I've never really done anything like this before, so I might not be all that much help, but I'll do my best."((Hurggg, so short. Kaoru ✺ Masako███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❝...Within the мση†ħ of ₳prїℓ, Love is §мéℓℓїηġ §ωéé†ℓy...❞ (( that's fine. I've had a lack of inspiration myself... Ne, I really dont have much else planned for this RP to go to for a while, so after these scenarios and whatever you may have planned, would you mind if I made a time-skip to Fall or Winter? It seems like the entirety of the RP has been in Summer/Spring and I've been in a Christmas-y mood. I think a Christmas with these two would be cute~ lol even if we end up getting there in the middle of March XD ))
Kaoru smiled happily with Dae accepting his request and hastily took his hand to cross the street. At his destination, the other had shown him a small pot. He looked at it and saw the subtle cracks in it. So, Dae had taken it after all? The one he broke... And painted it, too. Purple with a nice bit of silver. He took the pot gently from Dae's hands. "It's fine, its... Really nice of you. Thank you, Dae-hyun." Kaoru held the pot to his chest like he had when he bought it. A feminine habit when he was happy or giddy. He sat on his knees and filled it with dirt, lightly patting it to keep it down but not too tightly packed.
Kaoru looked up to Dae-hyun and back to his tools. Most of the soil was already loose, so the work was already half done. "If you could pull some of the grass and weeds, there should be a bag somewhere to put them in. I dont want them to breed." Kaoru always hated the weeds that sprouted in his garden. they were a pain to remove without damaging his own garden. "There aren't many. But the roots can be deep and a pain in the a**. Don't worry about digging up the ground, though, it helps spread around the good soil." Kaoru set a pair of gloves for Dae, taking his own to not cut himself on thorns or anything of the like.
"Please, be careful. Some of them might be pokeweeds or have thorns. If you get scratched, tell me, okay? I have some remedies, but I'd feel bad to find out you have any allergies to them," Kaoru looked to Dae for a moment before taking a small shovel to dig into the dirt. Carefully, he began to take out the growing plants and bury their fragile roots. As much as he adored Dae, there was no chance in Hell he'd let Dae take his most delicate of flowers. Concentrating on just his work, he had to be careful not to damage leaves and bury the roots just deep enough... He was beginning to run out of loose enough soil. Kaoru wanted to make his garden within a couple days, but with Dae's help, he may be able to finish on his own by the next day. It was already starting to get late.
Kaoru looked to Dae and took his hand abruptly, handing him a miniature rake. "If you could break the dirt more for me..." He murmured, letting his hands linger for a few seconds more before pulling away. "The rest of these are stronger plants... I can show you how to plant them, if you'd like." Kaoru had just realized his lack of communication and felt terrible about it as it hit him all of a sudden.

+Where's the door again...?+ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~((Winging it so hard right now. D: ))Wondering if Kaoru was happy or bothered about the pot, Dae hyun didn't think too long about it. He'd learned by then not to try and figure Kaoru out when he didn't need to.
Smiling as he grabbed a bag and slipping on the pair of gloves given to him, Dae hyun was thankful to have something he could do for Kaoru. "Don't worry, I'll be careful," Dae hyun assured him, though relieved to have the gardening gloves handy. He'd never done much gardening, so if he did have an allergy, he had no idea. Making sure to be extra careful not to get scratched, he began carefully picking weeds and tuffs of grass, doing his best to get up all of the roots.
Surprised at Kaoru's sudden grab at his hands, Dae hyun flinched slightly at first, but didn't pull away. Embarrassed, he did his best just to smile and say, "Not a problem," before setting himself down to work again. "Sure, anything you need help with that you think I can handle," he said when Kaoru offered to let him help with the rest of the plants.
After a few minutes of breaking up all the remaining dirt in the garden, Dae hyun asked, "Hey Kaoru, do you have any dinner plans? If not, would you like to come over and I'll cook something for us? I don't have that wide a variety of stuff in the fridge, but I- Hey! I could even teach you a simple recipe or something, so you could make it yourself in your new kitchen! Kaoru ✺ Masako███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❝...Within the мση†ħ of ₳prїℓ, Love is §мéℓℓїηġ §ωéé†ℓy...❞ (( Gah, I know. General plots are so vital XD ))
Dae-hyun's warm smile always cheered Kaoru, even if he was already happy. He didn't want to let go of the man's hand, even if the gloves were blocking their actual hands from touching. He waited patiently for Dae to finish weeding out the rest and break up the dirt before taking a plant. Digging a narrow but deep hole in front of Dae, he slid himself closer to show him.
"It's not too hard, you just have to know how deep it needs to go and how soft the dirt needs to be." Gently, Kaoru pulled the roots, smoothing them straight to fit in the narrow hole. "They'll spread out again later. It's a living thing, afterall. It'll find its own way," Kaoru explained. "An inch of the stem can be buried too, just as precaution."
Kaoru packed the dirt around the root, but left enough air pockets in it to let it 'breath.' Finding another sturdy plant without thorns or pricks, he offered it to Dae. "Try it? Dont hold too gentle like an egg, but rather like ah... Baby animal?" Was there even much difference between the two comparisons? Kaoru wasn't sure how else to say it, but he was sure, or hoped, that Dae-hyun udnerstood him.
Kaoru continued hiw own work, nearly finished. Indeed it was getting later and he could do the rest himself tomorrow. His thoughts were broken when he heard the Dae propose him dinner. Kaoru's face flushed. "That'd be great-" He murmured in the middle of Dae's sentance. He was startled slightly by the man's sudden in his change of train of thought- Teach Kaoru how to cook? Oh yeah, Kaoru does have a new kitchen, doesn't he? He needed to learn something. Learning from Dae would be much better than browsing the internet.
Kaoru smiled vividly, his cheeks warm with both slight embarrassment and joy. "I'd love to!" He finally said. "It is getting late. I can do teh rest tomorrow, Dae-hyun. Thank you." Kaoru was completely heartfelt and very happy with the day.

███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❞...Within the мση†ħ of ₳prїℓ, Love is §мéℓℓїηġ §ωéé†ℓy...❞ *Time Skip*
With the help of Dae, Kaoru had been regrowing his garden since it had been dug up. The flowers were taking a while to grow, but he maintained them, snipping rotting leaves or cutting any that began to tangle. It was therapeutic for him, more than the therapist he felt so awkward around. His plants growing very well, he couldn't put them in pots for the coming fall and cold seasons. Instead, the man had gotten a very special tarp with small lights to keep them covered and protected from the elements, especially the harsh rain that would hit the neighbourhood every now and again. Kaoru was never a huge fan of rain.
The months seemed to pass quickly, but for Kaoru they almost always did. August came and younger children were sent off to school. September, and October. Kaoru never liked Halloween. Being socially awkward as he was, he usually never bothered to decorate or be the kind for trick or treating, handing out candy to kids. Most of the time he just ended up cleaning his lawn and house of egg and paper. At some point towards the last week of October, he had another small incident, catching some children playing and pulling off his garden tarp. He screamed out at them, making a huge scene on his yard and scaring the kids, which led to about twice as many sediments to clean from his yard. Eventually, Kaoru had found the courage to actually go and buy himself a car online, with transport help. November and December passed by. Between this, the man bought himself a new, simple black set of glasses.
Kaoru, for one of the first times in a very long time, had been excited for the last month of the year. It seemed he had never gotten so far before with his relationship to Dae-hyun; Kaoru wanted to make it perfect, special, even if it seemed completely normal to Dae. He had gone through the trouble of decorating parts of his home, temporarily replacing some butterflies with reindeer or miniature Christmas trees. He had even bought a (plastic) tree and decorated it with orbs and tinsel for the first week of December. Having not seen Dae-hyun in a while, Kaoru thought it would be appropriate to get him a gift. He carefully thought, thinking of various gifts; being in a band, perhaps equipment? Though Kaoru wasn't sure what kind of equipment he'd prefer...
He found a pair of items, hoping at least one would be sufficient. A simple chain necklace made of platinum. It was hard to find one not encrusted with diamonds. The fact Kaoru never spent much of anything but the low bills and eating habits, he wasn't too concerned for price, not that he was a millionaire. That and the mentality that he would want only the best of anything for Dae-hyun, nothing less. At the mall, the very same one he had gone with Dae to, he scanned various shops. Most of it was Christmas gimmicks and junk, but cologne caught his eye, or rather nose. Scanning them, he found one that was not only nice to look at but the scent was sexy to say the least; Kaoru really didn't want to put it away. Perfecting the look of his gift, Kaoru wrapped the chain around the small glass bottle and set it within a red velvety box, tying it with red ribbon. he added a small butterfly link to it, as if marking it to say 'From Kaoru.'
Checking outside his kitchen window, he held the small box to him before stepping outside, bundled in a thick dark purple coat with a fluffy scarf that covered his face. The snow covered his yard and car all around. he really hadn't bothered to put salt on his walkway. He was never ahuge fan of.. Well weather of any kind, rain or snow. At least his garden would be mostly safe. The plants looked dead if one would check beneath the tarp, but the gardener knew they'd just bloom again from their hibernation. He made completely sure no cars were coming to get in his way before crossing the slick and iced road to the other's home. He knocked quickly, holding the small box to his chest in a girlish fashion, awaiting Dae's answer. His glasses were beginning to fog from his scarf covering his mouth.

+Where's the door again...?+ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Answering his door promptly, Dae hyun was a little surprised to see Kaoru. At least, that was his first reaction. His second reaction was to nearly have an aneurism after seeing Kaoru's slightly foggy glasses. Dae hyun had always had a bit of a fetish for glasses.
Doing his best to keep himself in check, Dae finally asked, "Hey, would you like to come in? I was actually planning on asking you something." Leading Kaoru inside, Dae hyun picked up an interestingly-shaped package from the coffee table and said sheepishly, "First, I uh...I got you this." Catching a glimpse of the box in Kaoru's arms, Dae hyun noticed that the other man's box was significantly better wrapped and almost felt bad about it. His own present was a bit messy, being a fat, brown, cylindrical shipping box wrapped rather unskillfully in a colorful paper and more or less tied with a ribbon in a bow.
Inside the box was a flower pot Dae hyun had picked out himself, as well as several bags of herb seeds and a Christmas Card containing a coupon for the customer's choice of an adult gardenia or peony plant from a local hothouse.
As Kaoru was opening the gift, Dae hyun explained, "I hope you like it. I figured since you've got your kitchen and can cook now, that maybe you'd want to try growing some herbs to use. And, uh...the others...just because you like gardening. I hope you like them," he muttered the last bit, blushing and refusing to look directly at Kaoru. It wasn't often he got so flustered over giving a friend a gift; Kaoru was special.
Unwrapping the box Kaoru handed him, Dae hyun had to admit, "You've really got much better wrapping skills than me. I know how to do more industrial stuff like wrapping clothes and fragile merchandise for shipment or after sale, but this is almost too beautiful to open. Slipping the bottle out of the box, Dae hyun was amazed at more than its nice shape. "Kaoru, this is gorgeous," he said as he unwound the chain and held it in his other hand. Sniffing the perfume in investigation, he couldn't help but think the smell was a bit provocative; he loved it.
Setting his things down on the ground, he gave Kaoru a hug, not because he felt like that was what you did after opening presents, but because it was obvious Kaoru had put a lot of thought and effort into picking out and preparing his present. "Why don't I try both on right now?" he asked with a smile as he let go again, and tried on the chain first. After a small spritz of the cologne, he remarked, "This stuff smells good. I suck at picking out cologne, but now I think I've found my brand."
Wanting to sit down, but unable to even motion Kaoru over to the couch, Dae hyun finally said, "Hey, listen, it's an annual thing for me and the band to go out and party every Christmas at Jameson's house, but, uh...you know, I thought about it, but I don't really feel like going this year. Work's been especially hectic recently, so I'm kind of tired of crowds and all the noise and everything.
"Would...would you...do you have any plans?" he finally forced out awkwardly, completely aware of how badly his act of nonchalance had already slipped. "I...I never see my family on Christmas, so hanging out with the guys is usually my only option, but...if you're cool with it, I think...I'd just like to stay home and hang out with you for the holidays." Nearly kicking himself for how awkward he knew he sounded, he could only hope Kaoru was too nervous himself to notice.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~+...And who are you supposed to be?+

Kaoru smiled beneath his scarf but was taken back by Dae leading him inside. He clutched his little present tightly, glancing around Dae-hyun's home. Adjusting his glasses, Kaoru watched the taller boy pick up a small wrapped parcel. Kaoru wondered what it was before Dae handed it to him. Upon opening it, he smiled. His scarf was beginning to fall slightly, loose from his neck. He looked up to Dae, holding all the items closely. "I love it... Thank you." He said full of sincerity. "I was, ah... I was actually thinking about growing herbs for myself. I have a few started in my kitchen. I'll add all of these, so when Spring comes they'll be ready..." Quietly checking the card, Kaoru sucked in a small gasp of air; Gardenias? Peonies were fine but.. Gardenias?! The small white flower that resembled a rose, its meaning of secrecy and how its smell was just so subtle but unique. Kaoru tried to contain himself. "I-I love Gardenias! They're my favourite flower... My.. My last one..." He trailed off, not wanting to bring up the past. The secret white flower bud he remembered giving to Dae-hyun before his freakout and hospitalization. This would be a different flower. He'd grow it in a different time, a different environment.
Kaoru begin to lose himself in thought over his obsession and brought himself back to reality quickly. He certainly noticed the hint of red across Dae's cheeks. In turn it made Kaoru flush a little. Fumbling slightly he handed Dae his own wrapped gift. Out of nervousness, he had to stop himself from shoving it into Dae's arms. To Dae's comment, he muttered, "I just.. Thought it should be perfect..." He actually hoped the words never reached Dae, understanding it seemed to sound more personal than he intended. He was honestly excited and terribly anxious about the gift; He wouldn't hate it, would he? Instead, he almost squeaked with joy as Dae stated his approval. Though, being hugged so suddenly, Kaoru almost thought of pushing the other away. He's never actually been so physically close to someone, not since his childhood. Nearly melting in Dae's arms, he kept himself from pouting when the man pulled away. The redness on his face grew. He hoped it would only look like his skin was frostbitten from the cold. "I'm really glad you like it." he said. 'Glad' was such an understatement. "It's all really good on you!"
With the silence, Kaoru admired Dae, trying not to seem so obvious about it. He jumped slightly when the object of his affection broke the silence. Was he.. Asking to spend Christmas with him? Somewhat squirming by now, Kaoru fixed his glasses and played with his hair, trying to occupy himself. "I don't have any plans..." He murmured. "I don't exactly hang out with anyone- i mean, I never really have before! I... I'd love to be with you for the holidays. Hang out. I don't exactly see my parents either." Kaoru only hoped his own anxiety would be forgiven. He began to figdet with his hair and the end of his scarf. Not wanting to overstay his welcome, Kaoru gathered his gift and replied, "I'll see you later. I have to, ah, check my plants' temperature. I don't want them to freeze to death... Just.. Come over, any time?" With that, the squirrely male turned to leave, but a thought hit him. He hoped it wouldn't lead to being hit literally, later. Going up to Dae, he stood on his toes to reach him and gave a soft kiss to his cheek. "Merry Christmas..." Refusing to see his face or reaction, Kaoru left in a hurry. He ran across the street to his home, careful not to slip or fall. He had finally gained the courage to actually act on something, though, he was far too scared to face it.
Kaoru let out a breath, as if he held it since he ran from Dae's house. the dark-haired male brushed back his hair, letting it fall back to his face. Having Dae-hyun with him for Christmas, now thatwould be such a nice gift for the holidays. Ah! Remembering what he told Dae, it wasn't a total lie. He certainly did have to check his temperatures or else the garden would certainly die! He took his gifts and set them on his table before heading to his room to look for the thermometers. Gathering them, he went outside to pierce them into the ground just in front of his tarp. Subtracting a few degrees since the tarp was insulated, he decided to turn on some of the lights that were inside, hoping to warm up the plants a degree or so.
With the few days he had before holidays, Kaoru tidied up his room with the little bits of dirt he had here and there. He even added extra little decorative details along with the ones he had already. Bits of holly and tinsel around his framed butterflies and a wreath with a candle in the center of it at the middle of his coffee table. Sighing, Kaoru honestly wondered, what could the two even do together? He supposed watching movies or the insufferable reruns of ever single Christmas movie ever made on television.

+Where's the door again...?+ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~((omg, so short and so late, I'm so sorry. OTL I do kind of have an idea of where I'm going, but for now I couldn't think of much. ;^.^))Smiling brightly at Kaoru's reaction to the card, Dae hyun just let him go, not surprised when the other man caught himself and fell quiet again. Despite all the help he'd been getting, Kaoru was still pretty spastic. But now it was kind of endearing, like in a child, whereas before it had always made Dae hyun nervous.
When Kaoru kissed him and ran out, Dae hyun merely stood there, stunned and silent. Kaoru had managed to change his behaviour, but not his feelings. A strange sensation welling up in his chest the more he thought about it, Dae hyun pulled himself away from the living room and headed into the kitchen to make some lunch.
***
Checking the time, Dae hyun wondered if perhaps he should call before he headed over. Shrugging to himself, he paced about for a minute, running things through his head. Above all else, he couldn’t decide whether or not to bring up Kaoru’s kiss from the last time they’d talked. It hadn’t been much of anything, but it had made him question his own feelings to the point where it was bothering him; not the feelings themselves, simply the indecision.
Since it was Christmas Eve, Dane had decided to cook dinner for the two of them. It wouldn't be anything big like families would have; just a cauliflower and cheese casserole, some vegetables, and chicken breast. As well as dessert, of course. He had been planning to prepare everything in advance and then just heat it up, but he'd remembered his promise to teach Kaoru how to cook a few dishes, and so had thought they could cook dinner together. Now, however, he wondered if he would be imposing on Kaoru by inviting him over and then expecting him to help with dinner preparations.
Shaking his head clear, Dae hyun checked the time again before heading out and locking his door. Knocking on the door of Kaoru’s house, he tapped his foot a bit as he waited. Scratching the back of his neck, he hoped he wouldn’t be interrupting anything.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~+...And who are you supposed to be?+

Kaoru●●Masako ❝A stalker will look for any kind of attention, positive or negative. A vast majority of them don't see themselves as stalkers ❞ ❝...Within the мση†ħ of ₳prїℓ, Love is §мéℓℓїηġ §ωéé†ℓy...❞
(( Its alright. School has been taking over lately, I myself have been neglecting quite a few roleplays. I'm sure it'll start picking up again~ ))
Kaoru's mind had been plagued by the thousands of thoughts running through his head. Little details mattered. He made sure his glasses were clean and his hair was parted just the right way. He had to, for his own personal compulsions, make sure the ornaments were facing the right direction, and that the red green pattern he had made was perfect. More or less preoccupying himself, He checked his indoor plants, his heating, his kitchen, his bedroom, bathroom, and living room. No little bits of fuzz or dirt or any smears on glass and mirrors...
Maybe it was extreme, Kaoru initially knew it may have been, but it certainly kept him away from anything else he could be doing, such as spying on his neighbour or plotting to win Dae's affection by unruly means. Although, now that the thought came up, Kaoru certainly had a change of feelings for Dae-hyun. Kaoru stopped in the living room, seeing that basically he has done everything already, if not twice or thrice over. He thought of Dae and wondered if he would at all bring up his little kiss or if he would simply dismiss it. The shorter man wasn't quite sure which he preferred. Although, no longer did he seem to obsess over Dae,or at least he seemed distracted from the severity of it. Was he improving? Or were his feelings diminishing? For a moment, he panicked. These little feelings were what helped make him happy, they couldn't just disappear!
Kaoru was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the door knock. He smiled and hurried to the door. Stopping for a moment, he touched his hair and adjusted his glasses and grabbed his scarf. Opening the door, he smiled to Dae, biting his lip to not shiver from the cold air. "Hey," he managed. His glasses from the temperature change began to fog up and he pouted. Taking them off, he cleaned them with his shirt before gently setting them back to the bridge of his nose. "U-uhm... What would you like to do?" Kaoru muttered, stepping out and shutting the door behind him. He wondered if Dae was anywhere near as sensitive to the cold as he was. He crossed his arms tightly, hiding his hands from the cold.

+Where's the door again...?+ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~((It's been...too long. OTL I feel like I say that every time I make a post. ;^.^ Anyway, I had an idea for later...two or three ideas really, for their eventual turning point, so to speak...even though it's been so long since I've posted, these two are so cute, I often think about them. X3 ))Perking up when Kaoru came out, Dae hyun couldn't help but smile at the cuteness of Kaoru having to wipe the steam from his glasses.
"Well, I've got all the ingredients for dinner, and I wanted to know if you'd be interested in helping me cook. We could consider it your first cooking lesson." Trying not to tease his neighbor too much, Dae hyun refrained from any sarcasm. Cute as he was, Kaoru was also sensitive, perhaps to a fault, and Dae hyun didn't want to mess up a day like Christmas Eve.
"After dinner we could watch some movies or something...doesn't have to be all the normal cheesy Christmas ones, either, it could just be some detective flicks or something, you know, something interesting but easy to watch...or whatever. I've got lots of different stuff on DVD, or watch-instantly."
Shuffling his feet a bit, Dae hyun glanced down the street to judge the snowfall. It wasn't bad, not even enough to close schools for, but it was the perfectly light and fluffy cover that really made it feel like the holidays.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~+...And who are you supposed to be?+
