[Jenny :: HT :: Sewers]

Jenny smiled at Zeba, before breaking into laughter alongside the teen... if only that happy feeling lasted longer because there was immediate sinking feeling in her stomach as soon as she heard the gurgle of water. And when that gurgle of water turned into what sounded like a mad rush, Jenny felt like she was going to die. She felt rooted in place, a fear settling in her whole body. She wasn't even thinking about how unsanitary the whole thing was... just the fact that the water was rising. Noelle's shout out to everyone about swimming only seem to hammer the nail deeper into her chest. She took a sharp intake of breath- I can't swim, I can't swim, Ican'tswimIcan'tswimIcan'tswimICAN'TSWIM- and then a voice.

Jenny practically dove, clenching to Kyle's hand like a lifeline. The mage slid a little as she grasped his hand, the feeling of desperation momentarily disappeared... she felt safe, if only for a moment before the quick rising of the water told her otherwise. They couldn't die here... right?

[Kichi :: LoD :: Throne room]

Kichi saw what was going on as soon as he heard Jafar. "OH GOD FREAKING...Emperor, sir, please believe us! We have no intention of harming you! Jafar is... That man is deceiving you!" he yelled out, attempting to plead with the Emperor. But, his words fell on deaf ears. He sighed. "Well, at least I can incapacitate the guards without injuring them too much with these..." he muttered, and summoned his tonfa as the walls went down. "Try to do the minimum damage you can to the guards guys!" and with that he leapt at the closest guard.

He landed and spun his body, then spinning his tonfa out for extra momentum, whacking the guard in the side of the head, hopefully hard enough to knock him both away and unconscious.

{James : Halloween Town : Sewers}

James heard the wall of steel drop and immediately knew that it was definitely a trap. But he wasn't prepared for what came next as water began to flood into the chamber, before long it was up to his knees. He listened to Kyle's plan and had to agree it made sense somewhat.

"I question if it's going to be that easy Kyle. Just be prepared to be split up."

It was not that he wanted to be separated. Quite the contrary, he wanted to stick together. But traps like this were often designed with divide and conquer in mind. James shuddered as the water continued to rise. He could swim though he definitely wasn't very good at it and he had always worried about drowning ever since he was a little kid. He focused himself, drawing in breath slowly to fill his lungs to prepare to hold his breath. A calm zen state was the key to holding one's breath the longest... Not so easy to do though when you know you're about to be swept upward and into some kind of trap.

{Auron : Halloween Town : Sewers}

The unsent samurai rather then panicking and worrying like the others simply closed his eye as he felt the water rise. This hadn't been what he was expecting but nothing could be done about it now.

"Calm down. Getting worked up will only make it harder to hold your breath!"

{Leon and General Li Shang : Land of Dragons : Throne Room}

Leon didn't get a chance to get any other words in as Jafar interfered and the Emperor ordered the guards on the attack, sealing them inside of the throne room. The guards themselves posed a problem because Leon did not wish to kill innocent people. He heard one of the kids mention doing as little damage as possible, not an easy task when your weapon was a blade with a gun attached but Leon agreed with his decision.

"He's right, don't kill them they are human!"

It meant though basically that Leon couldn't fight to his full potential as he was forced to strike at a guard with the broad side of the blade. Hoping to knock him out.

"Emperor please come to your senses!"

Shang called as the emperor left leaving them to deal with the emperor's guards. His own people, now forced to fight against him. He made his way over to Mulan, ready to fight beside her.

"It seems we have no choice but to fight them. Let's show them what we're made of."

Right now the general was rather wishing that he had a wood staff instead of his sword so that he could not kill the soldiers. Still he would have to make do with what he had. He would mostly focus on his martial arts then his swordsmanship.

[[Louis : HT : Sewers]]

As the group traversed the sewers, a thought popped into the Shadow-mancer's head, You know... it is Halloween town. Everything is sorta reversed here... so maybe... their waste... is our cute and fuzzy? His answer came as the tunnel closed behind them. He head the gushing of water and as his eyes took in the scene before him, his gut twisted, "Oh god... I think I'm going to be sick... I don't care if I can swim... that's just disgusting."

Louis turned back and struck at the steal door, leaving only scratches on its thick surface. After a few swings, Louis resigned his attempts and turned away from the door. Doing his best to ignore the waste he was practically wading in, Louis trudged over to the group and stood among them as the tried to come up with a way out.

[HT ~ Sewers]

Within no time the water was up to Noelle's chest. This wasn't as much of a problem for those who were taller in the group, but it was enough to make her have to start swimming. The agromancer stroked over to Aldrick grimmacing at the state of the water. Lucky for them it didn't smell, but it was still the consistancy of swamp water.

"Hey Brown Bear, care to be my flotation device? I seem to have forgotten my wingies." She spluttered as the water level began getting higher and higher. The rate at which the chamber was filling was increasing, and within three minutes they would be out of room and out of air. Noelle began to tremble, an expression of horror on her face. Drowning was one of her worst fears.

Titan . . . at the rate the water is coming I don't think the pipes at the top will drain fast enough. We'll be sucked into them but they'll still be full of water, we'll drown.

'You'll have to block off the pipes at the bottom to stop the chamber from filling. That's the only way.'

What? No way! That'll back up and burst the pipes! This whole place could warp and collapse, we'd all be dead!

'It's the only way! It would buy you enough time to make a tunnel to the surface. But I can't guarantee--'

What, that we'll all make it?!

Titan stayed quiet. A paralyzing sense of dread overcame her. It can't come to that, it can't. Noelle felt her chest tighten up and her breathing become strained.

"Jo . . . I'm scared, I'm scared." She whispered, treading the rising water.

Halloween Town | Waterway | The Sewers :.

With the water now up to her chest, Zeba bit her lip and let go of Kyle's hand. "Can you guys swim?" she asked, turning towards the Knight and the Flutist.
For the first time in ages, she was glad for all the grueling training she'd done. Years of swimming and pushing her limits made her feel less helpless, and even aroused an odd urge to protect the others.

'Well, I guess when you're good at something, you want people to know without seeming too up yourself; and the best way to do that is to help them.'

Unfortunately, no coach in the world teaches you how to stop moving water from seeping into your mouth, especially when you're opening it to breathe and talk. However, practice does make you perfect in the art of ejecting water from your mouth without appearing too uncultured.

[Joseph: HT: Sewers]

Joe couldn't help it, he immediately grabbed at Noelle, pulling her close to him and up a bit, so she wouldn't be stuck with the water threatening to cover her head.

"Don't be, Poppet. We'll get through this, I'm sure. We just gotta-tch!"

He could feel the water trying to lift him up. Curse Buoyancy...wait, nevermind. Drowning sucked.

"At this rate...We'll have to trust the pipes up there. If not...if not..."

He seemed to grate his teeth for a second, wondering if it was possible to...

"I'll make us a way out...or attempt to."

I wonder if a wall of air could block a wall of water...is the ceiling not that thick? If it isn't, maybe a strong enough blast could have us burrow out...or maybe...DAMN! I don't know!

The male frowned as he stared at the upper pipes. He needed to know what was in them, past them...

"Sylph!" With that call, Sylph came out, fluttering above the water, frowning at the stuff. Apparently, she wasn't happy with the stuff, either. "Go, go into one of the pipes. I don't care which one, just do it fast and tell us if it's safe."

The fairy flew up, choosing the center of the three pipes, and flew into it as fast as she could. Of course, she didn't know what she would find, but even she hoped it was something good, like a way out, and not something bad, like a dead end.

Com'on, Sylph...bring us back some good news.

[Dawn : HT : Sewers]

Dawn moved her arms and kicked her legs to keep her head above water. Which she managed very well. She would call herself an above average swimmer but not the best. Dawn knew she couldn't keep this up forever without one of her legs ether cramping up or air running out. With the pace the water was coming in, her money was on the air supply coming short.

"Damn it," she whispered loudly with looking up at the ceiling as if it had the answers, "We got to think of something. I don't know about you guys but I didn't spend five days wandering a bamboo thicket to die drowning in a sewer...."

She closed her eyes as she tried to hold back tears of fear. She breathed in and out as slow as she could, both to calm herself and in the feudal attempt to have the air supply last a little longer.

Dawn slowly opened her eyes when she heard Joe speaking to his summon and she flew away up into one of the tunnels.

'Please little fairy, don't let us down...'

She kept her eyes on that tunnel as she floated there by herself. As she felt the water coming in from behind her.

[Mulan & Mushu : LoD : Throne Room]

Mulan glanced back at Shang when she heard his voice.

"I will do my best," she said softly as she knocked one of the guards back with the flat of her sword, "I just can't believe this is happening..."

"Mulan keep it together," Mushu said to Mulan as he jumped off her shoulder and between her and the soldier that she had just knocked back, "We will get to the bottom of this, just for now focus on what is in front of you"

After his consoling, Mushu let out a flamethrower at the shoes of the guard that was in front of him and Mulan. Causing his feet to burn and the guard cry out, and falling back with his feet unusable.

"Yat-tah how do you like that!" the dragon cheered in triumph.

{Kyle(II) : Land of Dragons : Throne Room}

Watching the events unfold, he had to wonder what had happened with Jafar in the past. Had they perhaps gone to Agrabah? It would make sense. Then again, with the world all messed up like this, maybe they had met him in Atlantica or something. Even though he knew that it was inappropriate, he had a small smile on his face when he tried to picture a Jafarfish.

The smile was quickly wiped away when the guards began to attack. Quickly summoning his katars, he was relieved when the walls appeared. He wasn't all that excited about fighting regular humans. Heartless were different. Fighting, possibly killing, humans didn't sit well with him. That was why he was grateful for the walls that had sprung up. His relief was quickly extinguished when the walls were destroyed and the guards began to attack. Somebody, one of the Earthlings whose name he hadn't caught, said to try not to hurt them. Sure, easy for you to say. Kyle thought to himself. You've got wooden sticks. I've got katars. These were freaking made for killing. The points are supposed to be able to pierce armor! How am I not supposed to kill?!

You're in quite a pickle. Don't suppose you can fight with your bare hands?

Nope. Not at all. Hell, I can barely use these. I didn't exactly get a whole lot of time to practice. Well, aside from the monks. Hmm, wonder if I'll be able to go back there some time? Since we are in China and all that jazz.

It's possible, but for now, enough talk! Your first opponent is coming.

Oh f*ck-a-duck. Having been a mental conversation, it had gone rather fast, and Kyle could see the first opponent coming for him. Dodging to the right of the sword stroke, he attempted to try something that he had seen in a movie. Bringing his katars up, he slammed the broad sides against the mans head, one blade hitting each side. The man instantly collapsed. Looking at the prone body, he half-wondered if he had just killed the man.

Pay attention.

Swinging back to the battle, he prepared for his next opponent.

[Jenny :: HT :: Sewers]

Dizzy with panic, Jenny found it hard to breathe even though the mage still had a little while before the water submerged her completely. That was the problem though, Jenny could already foresee her head underneath all the goop and her mind was petrified with the horror. She found herself tightening her hold on Kyle's hand, giving a strained laugh at Zeba's question.

"You'd think I would know how to swim, living next to the sea an all." Jenny put the effort to make her voice sound neutral (maybe even a little comical), though her emotions flashed through her eyes like a lighthouse that just got it's light bulb changed on a clear night. She tried thinking of possible ways to get out of the predicament of drowning, but her mind seemed to set panic as the higher priority.

[Kyle ; Sora : HT : Sewers]

"Easy for you to say, Auron, you don't need to breathe anyway," Kyle spat, eyes furiously glancing over the others as he spoke. The water was coming in far too fast, they would have to swim, but from Jenny's grip, he could tell...

The moment Zeba released his hand, he unconsciously reached out to grab it again anyway, only to stop himself short, brushing his hand against hers. She let go for a reason. She probably knew how to swim, so holding on to him would only weigh her down. Jenny, on the contrary-

"On my back- no time!" he shouted, pretty much forcing Jenny to take a piggy-back position. "We won't drown- Oogie's too airheaded to actually build a deathtrap. This is just part of his game."

"Still, this is pretty fancy for that bug," Sora replied, already swimming, making his way toward the three pipes and waiting for the water to rise so he could enter. "Come on, if you're way back there, the draining is just gonna be harder on you!"

[Jafar ; Guards : LoD : Throne Room]

-Kichi (3)-

The attack was more than enough to do just that, leaving the first guard on the floor, unconscious; however, the two guards behind Jon were already at the ready, one going for his legs with a horizontal slash, and the other going up his back with a vertical one.

[One down, 15 to go]

-John (2)-

The shockwave of lightning managed to knock back 2 of the guards, luckily defending Kyla and Amy from a direct attack.

-Leon / Shang (4)-

The guard that Leon struck at was quickly knocked onto the ground, out cold. However, another came from his blindside, swinging at his unprotected gut.

Two more guards stood opposing Shang, but were uncertain in their own actions, hesitating before striking at their General.

[Two down, 14 to go]

-Mulan/Mushu (1)-

The guard, whose feet had just been on fire, angrily struck out in vengeance, bringing his sword down in a mighty cleave from above, more than enough to knock Mulan off balance, even if she did guard.

-Kyle (2)-

The unconscious man was easily stepped over by his angered ally, who came at Kyle with a swift diagonal swipe from the left, hoping to catch the Katar-user off balance.

[3 down, 13 to go]

Halloween Town | Waterway | The Sewers :.

Lifting herself up a bit by sculling with her hands, Zeba returned Jenny's laugh with a dry chuckle. "Here, let me help you," she offered, treading towards the time mage... Only to have Kyle beat her to it. Laughing again, she sculled away just a tad to give them enough room. Thanks to buoyancy, Zeba didn't have to worry about him not being able to support her.

"I sure do hope you're right, sweetheart," she replied skeptically, her doubts fresh in her thoughts. Kindgom Hearts was a game. Of course he wouldn't build a deathtrap. But here.... People can die. For good.

'This isn't a video game. This is serious business,' she muttered to herself, only then noticing her summon's rising concern.
'Don't worry Val, I'll be alright. I'm a strong swimmer.'

~'This isn't like that!' she exclaimed, her voice a fearful trill. 'Now, you're swimming to save yourself. Even the best swimmers drown, Zeba. You're not in a pool. You're trapped in a room filled with water thats level is increasing by the second. There are people all around you, legs and arms flying eve-WELL THEY MAY NOT BE NOW BUT THEY WILL BE SOON!' she added, her timbre shooting up as her summoner pointed out the flaw in her statement.

'Your concerns are flying farther and faster than their limbs,' she muttered in her thoughts, though inside, she was so happy to have a summon that cared for her so much.

[Kichi :: LoD :: Throne Room]

"Crap!" He said, but instantly, his body reacted to the attacks. He spun to face the guards that were going for his back, and jumped off at a diagonal to the two slashes, over the shoulder of the guard who was leaning down aiming for his legs. He twisted in midair, and slammed one tonfa into the side of the guard's helmet, then landed, spun, and did the same to the other guard. Unfortunately, those weren't hard enough hits to knock them out, but to fix that, he dropped down, and swept their legs out from beneath them. As soon as they hit the ground, he slammed both tonfa down, one on the first guard's side, and the other on the other side of the second guard's helmet. He then lept back a little, panting as he spun his tonfa once.
