Hesitating a long moment, Lyra allowed herself to sink onto the bar stool. She watched the steam rise and curl into the air from the soup and slowly raised her gaze to once again meet Lucids. Surprisingly now that the food was in front of her, it really didn't smell all that appetizing, and while a part of her greatly wanted it another part was nauseous at the small alone. Picking up the spoon she stirred the contents of the bowl around for a few moments before forcing herself to take a small bite. It was always difficult to keep anything down for long periods of time but maybe the soup would ease the tight knot in her stomach. She couldn't tell if the feeling was from hunger, unease or a mixture of both. Fiddling with the soup between small bites, Lyra's gaze kept drifting back to Lucid. Unsure of what to say to him she simply stated what she should have said a few minutes ago. "Thank you, for the food and letting me stay with you." her voice was soft as she spoke and though she heard the commotion at the door, she didn't rise and kept her gaze on the bar top in front of her. The byplay between Gabriel and Lucid hadn't helped to calm her at all, but it was not her place to question those around her.

Gabriel glanced over at the other person. He took a deep breath, judging it to be a female. He was experienced in dealing with all sorts of people. This woman seemed a bit shy. Not that it was bothering him any. His eyes took in the female from head to toe. "I am sure my Master will meet with you, Sir." he said, back at the man. His gaze flicked back to the woman then. "Are you here to see my Master too?" End of message.

Lucid stared at her. "You are most welcome, Lyra." he said quietly. "Does Gabriel make you uncomfortable?" He almost didn't want to know the answer to that..almost. Of course, if that was the reason behind her acting strange, it could be easily rectified.

Shaking her head, Lyra set the spoon down at the bowls side. She had only eaten about half of the bowls contents but she couldn't force herself to take another bite. Not really sure exactly what bothered her she pushed away from he bar and rose to her feet. Something seemed wrong, something around her felt out of place, but she couldn't really say that, she didn't know this place well enough to judge. She knew she should tell the truth, yes Gabriel did bother her but not in the way Lucid probably meant. He bothered her by being what he was, by acting the way he did. Though she could tell that the status he had was voluntary, she wasn't sure if she could make anyone understand how seeing it had made her feel, or what it had made her think of. One thing she had learned over the years was that memories could be even more cruel then the happening. Once it happened you'd think it would be done and over. That memories were just that and they couldn't harm you. Whoever had come up with that load of crock hadn't had enough painful memories to be able to judge. And while she had managed to keep the majority of hers tightly locked away. Lucid's one scene with Gabriel had managed to unlock a floodgate, and for whatever reason she couldn't seem to manage to get the lock back in place. What she felt like doing was a mixture between finding the nearest hole and hiding from the world and going out into the open and screaming away everything she felt to it. Neither would help. so she was reduced to standing and fighting back tears...tears of what she wasn't sure. Sorrow, regret, pain...everything seemed to blend until one emotion fed another and she couldn't even begin to tell where one left off and another began. She was tired...was all that she could think of. She must be to be losing control of herself so easily, and for her to lose control...that was a terrifying thought. She couldn't afford to lose it, she just couldn't. Drawing deep breathes, she forced each muscle of her body to relax. She needed to get away from people, though a larger part of her for some unknown reason wanted to turn to Lucid. A foolish notion to be sure but it was still there. "No...it's not him..I'm alright." she whispered quietly. Raising her gaze to his she forced a slight smile. "I'm just going to go sit outside for a little while."

Ali considered the man for a moment, "Yes, sir, I am." she replied with certainty in her voice. Her father had told her to never show fear because there would always be someone to take advantage of it. She looked over at Arjay once more, taking in his beauty as silver hair waved in the breeze.

Gabriel studied the pair for a long moment, his gaze thoughtful. He wondered for a moment whether or not his master would punish him for turning them away. The punishment for turning away a quest would be severe if they had already set foot within the castle. It might not be so bad, since they had not yet come into the home of his Master. All the same, it wouldn't be worth it. "Is there some special reason you want to have an audience with my Master?" he asked, his curiosity getting the better anyway. He knew he might get a reprimand for what he was doing, but he figured it to be worth the pain. End of message.

Ali was not sure what the answer was. She was afraid to say the wrong thing and be turned away, but still didn't want to show her fear. "I do not have any set reason. I am merely a traveler. I have no home and no ties to anyone." she announced with pride, hoping that he would not turn her away. It had been some time since she had sleep in a bed and had hot food or bath.

I spared Ali a glance, trying to tell her to hush using my eyes. It didn't work, of course, because she wasn't looking at me. I pulled the sheathed sword at my side forward, showing it to the man. "This is my reason. I must speak with him immediately." I said quietly. I didn't want to have to call for Lucid. I had been under the impression that the Master Vampire already knew I would be here this night. I had sent a message asking him for the permission required to tread upon his land. When all else fails, have it in writing. I did too. I pulled the piece of paper from my pocket and brandished it for the man to see. "He knows I am here." I said. "Either you fetch him or allow us passage so that I may find him myself." End of message.

Lucid frowned watching her display. He still hadn't managed to find out who was responsible for the attack on her. It was one thing to attack a female, another to do so on his land. He went over to her, putting a gentle hand on her arm. "I will go with you. I do not think it wise for you to run off." he said quietly. "You're pursuers might still be on my land."

Lyra's smile slowly faded, and though she knew he was being reasonable, she still felt it better that she went alone. Weighing being caught again over her need to cry in privacy she decided that being safe was better than being sorry. Nodding, she waited for him to lead the way. She still had no idea where anything in this maze was. She hadn't even known there was a bar and she had already been here for several days. That was intelligent. She really needed to take a little time and explore as thoroughly as she could to try to learn the long corridors and their twists and turns. "Okay...if you don't mind."

Gabriel flicked his gaze to the sword momentarily, then moved his gaze back up to the man holding it. A sword? Really? Since was his master a sword smith? He did not give the note any attention though, sliding his gaze toward the female. The voice had been fairly pretty. Was the rest of her not? They way she wore that cowl, he began to think the latter was true. How many pretty women wore things that covered their good looks? "I don't recall asking where you come from." he said quietly. He lifted his hand to he collar again. It was a habit. He fiddled with the tags that hung from the ring on the collar while he studied them both. "Alright. Let me ask my Master first. If he says it is okay, then I will take you to him."
End of message.

"Was I not suppose to answer?" she inquired of Arjay. "I am sorry if I said something wrong." she wanted him to look at her. She removed the hood and shook her dark, blueish raven hair, allowing the wind to sweep it across her stoic features. Her lavender eyes caught what little light there was and shimmered.

I gave Ali a shrug, not wanting to remove my gaze from the man in the doorway. I've found, in dealing with strangers, that it is better to give your back to a woman than it is to give your back to a man. Either way. I trusted Ali more than the stranger. I was satisfied with his response though. I tucked the Hiratoshi back to my side. No sense in flashing it about like a piece of jewelry. Tucking the piece of paper into my pocket, I crossed my arms, waiting for the okay to enter the castle. I wanted to get things taken care of, and I was pretty sure that Ali wanted her bath. End of message.

[Implied response, since Derek is not feeling all that well and has refused to RP this day.] Incoming message. . .
Gabriel conferred with his Master for a moment, gaining the permission required to allow the visitors passage. He kept his face void of any expressions as he straightened from the doorway. His gaze flicked over the now visible features of the female. She wasn't as nice to look at as his master was, but she was nicer looking than the female his master was entertaining in the bar. He shifted his gaze to the male now. He could sense that this man was a vampire. Call it an ability. Of course, once you have been around a vampire long enough, you start to recognize them. This male was deliciously handsome, though again not as nice as his master. Gabriel reached over and pushed the other door open, moving to stand in the middle of the open doorway. His other hand still rested over his chest, his fingers fiddling with the tags on his collar. "Master says that you may enter. I am to take you to him." he said carefully. The last thing he wanted to do was get into trouble with Lucid. Turning, he stepped into the darkness of the castle. "Follow me and I will show you the way." End of message.

Ali followed the stranger and Arjay. She forgot that her cowl was down and just absorbed her surroundings. She felt as if her stomach was in a tight knot, what would she say when she meet their master. She decided to not worry, that stress could turn to fear. [[I hope Derek gets to feeling better!]]
