Thresher looked at Spider for a moment, chuckled then said, "A man I'm not, but I'll make sure she's safe. Count on it." He walked out of the room, heading back towards the battlefield, to fullfill his new promise.

Spider watched Thresher leave. He relaxed his body and then felt the pains of the last battle. Damn! I'm still hurting. Axl...please return to base. I know why Avian's after us.

Axl pushed open the door to the Medical Room, the enemy-reploid Dante in his arms. He sighed, and put the body down on a bed.
"Let's get this guy fixed up before we throw him in the cell." He said softly, seeing that Spider was in the room.

Axl sighed and sat down in a chair.
"Alright, shoot." He said enthusiastically. "Something troubling ya'?"
Dante twitched a litttle in his unconscious sleep. He had no serious thought process now, and therefore could not move anything at his own will.

Spider saw that Acl was listening and here he heard that Axl might have ADHD. "Avian...I think he wants to clone us and create warriors like Jetstream and Vert. If our power were at his disposal he'd could defeat the resistance with no problem. With our invisibility powers he'd could sneak under the radar and the can get past our scanners with the shape shifting ability. We can't go onto the battlefield even if Commander Harpuia or Lady Leviathian ordered us to."

Axl shook his head, and smiled.
"We can't." He said, and began to recite the data Betas had given him.
"For the cards to play out right, for the end of war to be right, we must give it all we have to win. I think I know the final limit now of my power, and I think perhaps it will help us quite a bit."
He sighed, and looked up at the ceiling.
"You see....Avian will be his won enemy, if I am correct."

Spider shook his head. "Avian is crafty. We can't aford to be on the same battlefield as him. Makes me wish that Commander Signas was here...he always knew what to do."

"Of course Avian is crafty, but we still have the upper hand here!" He exclaimed proudly. "No matter how hard he tries, him and his puny little soldiers will never catch us! He will forever seek his ultimate reward, but will find that it is trapped in the ether!"
He spun his pistols out of their holsters, and slipped them back in when he was done.
"If you continue to run in fear, Spider, he will feed on it and find you. If you show him that he's worthy nothing, you will find that he will start digging his won grave."

Spider looked at Axl and smiled. "You're right. We were given this gift and we should use it to our advantage. We chose to use it for the side of good so lets use it. And umm...Axl? Can you let me out of here please?"

Axl grinned.
"With pleasure."
He began to release whatever cords or cables that were connected to Spider, and helped him to sit up on the bed. He then pointed to Dante.
"We'll talk to that guy when he wakes up. Better let him recover first."

Spider sat up and shook his head. He looked around at first and then found what he was looking for. He picked up his top hat and placed it on his head. Spider looked at the young gunner with a smirk. "Let's give that overcocky king a fight."

Axl closed his eyes and concentrated a little. His face began to glow, and when it was done, it looked quite odd.
Half of his face looked like Avian.
"Let's see him face his true fear...."
He changed back, and turned to the door. His grin was wider than usual.
