Ryugi Kazamaru Why do I have a bad feeling about this fight? Because you are unconfident of your abilities.

Because you instantly put down a useful tool.
It's not just the buck shot you have to worry about.
That and it's more annoying the way most people deal with guns. Seriously, anyone ever hear of the concept of reducing your profile, getting behind cover, presenting a difficult target? Sure, some sane people do that. Others, somehow block it with their swords or dodge after the bullet has been fired.
Accuracy over all for firearms is much lower then people in role plays like to play at. Just force them into a little realism for their own weapon.

Darshendros the Eternal Ryugi Kazamaru Why do I have a bad feeling about this fight? Because you are unconfident of your abilities. I mean more along the lines of "fun". This guy seems too cocky to let me have any fun. Which irritates me.

Seriously, he has a weapon he says is unbreakable. You know he's an idiot from the start. It's just that he also uses a shotgun. Probably expects to be able to hit damn near everything he shoots at with it too. Now if you can find someone that has a better understanding of guns you can have an interesting and challanging fight.

That guy is a clown, Ryugi. Melt the sand to glass and be done with it.

*Raises hand* Shotguns are most effective at close range. If he tries shooting at you from a distance, the pellet spray will be too spread to do any significant damage. If he shoots you at closer than, say, 20 feet, you're going to have a big gaping hole wherever he shoots you. Would you like to know more?

Dont shotguns have a relatively low FPS velocities anyways (compared to other guns)? So they are extremely ineffective at long distances?

Because wikipedia knows everything.
Shotgun or not, the guy is using germanic butterknives. Incorrectly, too.
Remember kids, if you're going to use a knife, use several with the same hand!

No big gaping hole, that's a little hyperbole. Now if it was point blank, yeah. Mostly likely at close range with a shotgun you'd see most likely a collasped lung, internal bleading, broken ribs, and potentialy posion yourself if you were shot in the gut.
Darsh, did you recently watch starship troopers?

If anything I could use the ambient heat and light from my energy to deflect the shot away from me as long as it was at a decent distance.
However, I talked him out of using the shotgun in our fight, and had him agree to a spar, and not a deathmatch, since killing someone is alot easier than just beating them into submission.
