"Probably trying to save his mom." Eara reminded him, perhaps a bit sharply.
He was her nephew after all, and no one had heard anything from Mor in a long time...
She crossed her arms, watching him. "Can't you call him and ask?"

But just talking about him was enough. He peered in through a portal. "I'm not the Hunter right now." he shook his head. "I'm normal."

Kazuhiko bit his lip, giggling a bit. "Where we goin??" but then he stopped, thinking over the Kit comment.
He suddenly seemed very distrustful. It was almost uncanny how much he was like Fir now that Kit was dead.
Her in death was his equivalent to Fir's Kit alive. Terrifying.
"We're not visiting her are we?" he whispered, eyes locked on Fir's.
But without his Hunter powers, it was a LOT harder to tell whether or not he was telling the truth.
He sorta didn't like it.

Kazuhiko glanced back. "Be right back Otousan." he kissed his cheek, hugging him tightly. "I love you. Wait here with Ojiisan."

He crawled back over to Fir and Eara, watching them shyly, unsure of what to do now. He wasn't so sure without being able to read people.
What a new and strange way to look at things...
"Alright." he agreed, nodding slowly, but he didn't say anything else, watching them with wide turquoise eyes.
"Aren't you gonna talk kiddo?" Eara knelt down on his level. "You're usually gushing by now..."
He just shook his head, biting his lip a bit. "I think... maybe... I shouldn't let Ojiisan borrow my powers... but... he needs them to keep Shi-chan from dying. No. Wait. She doesn't like that nickname like I would." he frowned. "She coughs red... She needs a lot of looking after, but she's valuable to all of us. You'll see. But I miss it... it...feels.... weird..." he shook his head.
In truth, the boy was restless as all hell without it.

Eara nodded, scooping Kazuhiko up into her arms.
He snuggled close, watching Fir and his aunt closely.
He didn't want anyone else to come that he didn't know, not while he couldn't read them.
He was extremely cautious now, almost scaredy-cattish about it.
He had a hard time getting people to like him, and he was insecure about not knowing outright what they thought.
"C'mon kiddo.." she soothed, leading them out. "Let's go on a short adventure, alright?"

Kazuhiko paused, watching her cautiously.
She was older than he was, it seemed like, but maybe that would be better than him.
He kept clinging to Eara, despite his growing curiosity.
"Aren't you going to say hi?" she tutted him gently, waving shy and sweet at Bright Eyes. She knew the girl. "Hey Bright Eyes, this is Kazuhiko..."
He peeked at her but buried his face in her shoulder.
"He's a bit cranky." she winked.
"Am not." he hmphed.
If anything, he was terrified.

Kazuhiko shrinked at this.
"He's a bit sensitive about that." Eara whispered. "He thinks a lot of people thinks he's scary..."
She squeezed the boy in an affectionate hug. "He's usually a lot more friendly and curious, but he can't read people like he usually does, huh kiddo??"
Kazuhiko huffed, shapeshifting into a crow and hiding in the car.
"He's really, really, really shy..." she knelt down to look at Bright Eyes. "You both would be really great friends I think, though. Just go show him how nice you are." she calmed the child's hair some. "He has a hard time making friends... I'm worried he doesn't think anyone likes him. But I bet you can prove him wrong. Ask him about...." she thought for a long time, "Ask him about trees and adventures... he likes stuff like that."
She stood up, looking at Fir hopefully.
Kazuhiko desperately needed a friend closer to his own age, and everyone knew this to be true.
But whether or not he'd take to her...
They were practically twins! How couldn't they like eachother?
"Just keep talking to him." she winked at Bright Eyes again. "He can hardly stay quiet for long, even as a crow."

Eara hopped into the front seat, glancing back at Kazuhiko. "You hear that?? Of course you did..."
Kazuhiko wasn't a crow anymore, instead a rat, sneaking around and up into her lap.
All the while he watched Bright Eyes with the utmost curiousity.
Kitaria, not scary???
So... what did that mean she thought of him?
He was confused by this girl...

"Because..." the rat stammered, which actually gave Eara a shock.
"Damn, boy..." she blinked at him, "What CAN'T you do??"
Kazuhiko didn't answer that, but his depression was easily felt by the empath.
Apparently, the answer was plenty.
"Hey, Kazu... answer her. Why you so quiet kiddo???"
"Caaaauuuse..." he sighed again, starting to morph a bit.
He was a kid again, although he had fox-like qualities, watching Ashlin closely.
He probably wouldn't answer her question....
Except with one of his own.
"How'd you know about my elephants?" he whispered, blinking in confusion.
