Dreadnaughts suck! I roll a 2 and i penetrate!(ap1) They're only good when they get fired i by Drop Pod! Then we kinda got a problem xp But there is a thing called 18 st5 shots in the middle of your guys from deepstriking stealths! Excellent but Suicidal! twisted

Yes I'll agree Dreadnoughts do suck. Mine always dies 1st turn, even if he is hiding ! At first I thought, I have to be doing something wrong for him to always die... then I started to realise it ain't my fault xp Thats when I discovered the blessed be the warriros trait advantage.

What is what ? Be more clear please.

But on a hunch if your asking about blessed be the warriors. It's a trait advantage that lets you take assault marines and elite as well as fast attack. You can do similar things with other units using different traits this one just so happens to work for me.

Okay I stop by for a quick rant. I still have test and crap but to let go some of the pent of steam I collected over the weekend so it doesn't effect my grade I must let lose with everything I have on the Book
"Tau Firewarrior"

For god sakes! What the hell, I would like to see the guy who hired the guy who wrote that crap book that deserves to burn in hell. That is by far one of the worst 40k novels I have ever read in my entire war hammer 40k career. Of course I just returned from a game I lost purely by luck.
And I mean that, I swear to god I rigged my dice to lose in my sleep or something. In my first two turns I fired 14 plus lascannons shots at two falcons(4 of them twin linked) and didn't hit any of them! To top that off I fired 8 missiles and two Hunter seeker missile at the same turn.
For two turns I poor everything I have into two vehicles and nothing work, on the second turn two squads of vipers mop up every vehicle I have on the field getting many hits and 6s on the armor penetration table.
It was insane, the amount of bad luck I was having. I fired 16 bolters shots at the rear armor of a wave serpent and hit only 6 of them.
That is just the tip of the iceberg but I don't want to bore you with more of that game I would hardly like to remember.(My opponent said I didn't actually lose he was willing ot call the game off on account of my bad luck! He didn't feel right about playing against that kind of bad luck and said we could try again the next day.)

So on to the point. I am steamed about the game I just played when I chance upon the book, Tau FireWarrior.
I start reading it and I nearly rip the book in half. Who the F*** wrote that book! One tau does not kill a Space Marine captain, that Kais has a better chance at threading a camel through a needle then killing a Marine captain by himself. Not only that but he continued to kill marines. I mean god darnit people, does games work shop even read that sh*t.

Not only that but the Ultra Marines find out about the Raptors chapter and are almost ready to wage war against them. Their Space Marines, those are their brother space marines! I just can't see them acting like "Oh those space marines suck they don't follow the codex astartes to the letter we should kill them!". I have just increased my hatred of Games Workshop by nearly 10 fold. I was almost ready to quite the hobby all to gather because it just seems the space marine I use to know are no more. I remember when Space Marines use to sound liked the mighty warriors they are supposed to be not in the books and fluff of today and they appear to be just a little bit better then normal soldiers. And they wear Power armor.

What I think of when I think of a Space Marine:
A Space Marine is a giant standing 8-9 feet tall.
He is a superhuman warrior able to crush any opponent.
Each Marine is a hero in his own right, a survivor of hundreds of campaigns. A legendary warrior feared by his enemies.

Wow sounds like you had a bad time of thins Dart, now take one of your dice out back and crush it any way you can. It will make you feal better and the others will roll better. 3nodding I have faith you will utterly destroy him next time, the fight is always better comming off of a loss.

You are right about the book, its heresy in it's purest form ! scream I browsed throught it at the book store and stuffed it behind some other books in a different section so no one would have to waist there money on it !! Gahh !

Hah, you are right the next game I played I won a crushing victory against those Eldar.

But games workshop just makes me so mad when they do stuff like that.
One minute they are trying to show your how powerful a Space Marine is then the next they have them act like lackies who are incapable of guarding a door.

I don't thing the creative team has any say about the products and stories that are put out. Ok look at the FW game. I have a recored mp3 of a Chaos Marine haveing trouble opening a door 'I can't get this blasted door open.... In the name of the Dark Gods... Open !' Funny but incredibly stupid. I'm convinced they have no idea what any one is doing at GW. One day... when the war in 40k is over ( like that'll ever happen ) Gw will get there act together.

Hmm, I think we should have a meet up somewhere or something. Well I am in San Antonio, Texas Anyone live near there?? Oh im sorry bad Idea.
PostPosted: Wed May 31, 2006 6:36 pm

Haha, yea bad idea, i live on the other side of the continent. Virginia of the common wealth... riiiight.... well any ways, i think i wanna read those unruley freakin books. As a matter of fact, i like kais, he is kinda cool... But any ways, i just think that if you guys can just lay off of the whole, Tau kicking Space marine a** for alittle, just wait, the space marines will be back on top. Thats just GW's way to selling things.

Right you got it Dry, it's all marketing tactics. If the marines always killed every thing no one would buy any thing else. Sooo... fluff or not a Tau will kill a marine captain if there profits are down. The Power of the Emperor pales in the face of the almighty dollar !

I'd love to meet up one day, but where all spread out. Waaay out. I think Aurelius is in england. Nara I think I'm the closest one to you. I'm in Florida. Every one else is up in the Ny/Pa region.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 01, 2006 5:19 am

Marketing is not the point Dry. The Tau can't kill a Marine in fluff. It's almost impossible. One time Pete Heines made a Movie Space Marine Army list. Something that represented Marines as they should be. The 1,500 point army consisted of one tactical squad. It held its own against ever other army. But due to all fairness they never released it because it was too powerful.

A Marine is a giant compared to a Tau, and one bomb would not blow them apart. THere have been marines that have taken hits from Rocket launchers and survived.
