Tomorrow's the day....oh lord....how long have I dreaded this day to come. After a month of planning, after searching far and wide in my repertoire of friends, after spending 100 bucks on the materials necessary, after finding a place where we could all meet up.....Tomorrow...for the first time..I will be playing...........Dungeons and Dragons. burning_eyes .......and....I will be DM'ing. burning_eyes burning_eyes burning_eyes burning_eyes
Lol, I joke, I am actually really excited to be playing Dungeons and Dragons for the first time. Also I feel quite damn proud of myself. I actually found a group of people willing to play D&D, get them together despite conflicting schedules, and find a place where we could all meet up. We are all newbies when it comes to TRPG's so tomorrow will be quite the learning experience. The only reason why I am qualified for DM'ing is because I have the Core Rule Book, and other materials....plus I organized the damn event.
And oh...its not necessarily D&D were playing per say. Were playing Pathfinder....which is basically D&D 3.5 upgraded. Uses the same mechanics and play style as D&D, but it does a few things differently. Were doing Pathfinder cause originally, we wanted to get the Red Box, which is a starter set for D&D players....but unfortunately, the set is no longer made...So...I decided to switch it up to Pathfinder and get the beginners box. Believe it or not, ALOT, and I mean, alot of people reccomended Pathfinder to me, some even saying that its alot better than 4th edition D&D. At least I can sleep at night then knowing that I chose wisely regarding an D&D alternative....
I really liked the Beginners Box, it had several book in there that clearly explained alot of the rules to TRPG's....such as Attack Rolls, Damage Rolls, the works. Not only that...but the art...good God the art is kick a**! I loved how the book is layed out. What I like most about this book is that it included something called The Hero's Handbook, and on the first of its pages, is a solo adventure one can play on his own that introduces you to the concept rules of TRPG's...that is what made learning the rules the book tells you about so much easier.
I will be DM'ing a prepublished campaign found in the box called Black Fang's Cave. It looks like a really fun intro for my friends to the world of TRPG's.....Lol, wish me luck guys, I am going to need it, there are still ALOT of rules I need to grasp....hopefully nothing difficult comes up.

Its supposed to be a really good entry point for players that haven't played TRPG's cause its basically just a dungeon crawler. Actually, I take Nerd as a compliment. I love the Nerd lifestyle. No shame in hiding it, lol
