Hmm ok so there are 12 companys in a regiment right ?
How many guardsmen/units are there in a company ?
I'm pretty sure I understand the platoon leval of operations already. It's the larger scale im a bit iffy on.

ok i have my codex here about 6 infantry platoons makes up a company, and well in the codex it shows 4000 men and thats roughly half the regiment, so im not exactly sure but its alot

Ok I get it now. Thanks. 3nodding I have reached a point in my fan fiction where I need to know these things. sweatdrop I have the IG codex in a pdf but unfortunately some of the pages are fuzzy so I cant read them very well. Oddly it's most of the pages i need to... cry I think im gonna spring for two new codex's the IG and the new tau Empire one. After all is said and done I may end up playing Guard as my third army. Hehehe then I can make rules to use them as back up of a sort for my marines. mrgreen Ok that's debatable but you get my point. xd

I think I would like there tanks. I don't know much but I do know what an armored company is. mrgreen Guard might be more my style swarms of people and artillery ... that or orks... I love the randomness there vehicles have especially the killer canz. I just love that one. rofl

BAh! ******** IG i cant beat them, Eldar, or anything numerous wit vehicles. I dont know about orks, i still need to fight them. But, as i said before, my army was only ment to fight Necrons and Space marines. And as to prove it, my psychotic fight today against Chaos space marines Slanesh. guess what my casualties were? 3 squads of fire warriors. Ohh big woop, i was expecting that. And of course, all my shield drones, they surved there pourpose. But what was really fun? My weed eaters. Stealth suits Infltraited right next to a squad of marines, i dont know if they were Noise marines or not, but they had that sonic gun thing so. But yea, i killed that Squad off in one turn, well accept for 2 men, but still, then she had summonded her deamonetts. But i killed every thing on the board of hers.That was an 1815 fight, and i killed every thing. Her lords, space marines, Dreadnought, every thing... and she just killed 3 squads of mine... but ohh well. The fight against the eldar... sucked... i so got totally wiped out.. but i learned something today against the eldar... Since my army is stationary base, and i didnt do that right by deploy. He had me in manoverability, but i had him in Firepower, but i didn't have a solid defence in that fight... But ohh wll, i have more time to prepare for armys like that...

That's not to bad Dry, getting whipped happens. My thought on that is if you know your gonna get whipped off the bored do it in style and with force ! Most of the times when I get owned im having a blast ( literally ) xd Good job killing those chaos guys though. 3nodding
Ehh I'm still up in the air about my third army. I was leaning heavily towards Tyranids, I could make such awesome models for them. twisted But then ork and guard seem like interesting options. I know I'd like to round out my tau but that kind of goes with out saying. Another battle box (or two) some vespids and a few more tanks ought to take care of that...
Do you know what I realized about the Ultramarines... Has any one seen any other company besides the 2nd ? Every single one has yellow trim to there shoulder pads. What about the rest of the chapter ? I know the 1st got whipped out so the 2nd might as well be there veteran company but still... Look at the Imperial Fists. Most likely you'll see either the 3rd (red) company or the 5th (black) company for them. It just struck me as odd.

I am a meele monster, I try to get into CC as fast as I can. Hence my drop troops. Getting the heavy wepons into close combat stops them from gunning down your lighter troops. When I see lots of armor I give all of my Assault marines melta bombs. If my scouts need to move I engauge all of the unets near to them before they move this way they dont get caught in the crossfire if corse the scout sergeant has a teleport homer just incase the termys need to back them up. Ohhh I've also started construction on a thunder hawk transporter. It wont be long before I can land my tanks any where I need them. twisted

I know about getting Whipped! Necrons! Owened 4 times in a row. Necron lord on a destroyer! Like an uber chaplain or something with a super weapond and can move 24 inches! Necrons are meant to be slow!!!
Anyway, with the new airburster and a 1 or 2 hammerhead railguns you can blast IG to uranus. Airburster: Large template, No cover save (*come out come out whereever you are*) and ap5. So they're dead!
I'm gettin some vespid aas soon as my exams are over. Then me and 4 of my friends are gonna have a tournament. Better get painting xp My hammerhead for blastin my friend Peters Vanhallans Is completely unpainted and peters brother who is also playing won't let me use it unless i paint it evil
There is one problem though, There is one IG player, One SM and three Tau!!!

Aww just three Tau ? Not much sport in that for Marines and IG. j/k Tau guys. xd
I played a 2,000 point take and hold mission on Sunday, it was fun.
I have discovered I dislike demonetts, yesss... Those nasty little 8itche$ chewed up my termys... ok they had a demon price backing them but still. stressed Thankfully my dreadnought did me some good and took out the demon prince right before it lost both of its arms... go figure the one game it lives past turn one it cant shoot so it was a walking cover save for a while. I had my scouts hold the point, With infiltrate I had the point secured turn one. Naturally the chaos marines decided to roll up and kill my scouts so I dropped my terminators behind them and got them in crossfire hehehe. I love that so much. Out of ten scouts I only lost one. mrgreen Not after to long I move my 5 man lascannon devastator squad ( 4 las 1 multi melta ) to the point. Any thing that started to move my way got blue bolts up the tail pipe and any thing that lived past that the lascannons and my line of terminators had my assault squads jumping off the roof at them.
It was a fun game, I won that hands down, mostly because not only was it take and hold I turned it into a cleanse mission half way through. xd
