As long as you stay dead at least 24 hours.
If your body is destroyed, you have to come back in a new body. Not to mention seeing something that reminds you of your killer/death, to regain your memories.

Disco: So 4 villages you dont go after 1. Hidden Nightmare (hido's village obvious reasons) 2. Hidden Cloud (Kanshins village) 3. Hidden Heaven (Kikyo's village -.-) 4. Hidden Waterfall
all others are fair game and will have no resistance from Hido.
