jwalker67 Ana Helios jwalker67 Ana Helios jwalker67 Eh, I am enjoying it for what it is at the moment. Maybe I am alot more acceptive of this game considering I haven't been playing to many JRPG's lately. I mean, I know there are cliches in the story out the yahoo, but I am not tired of them...I haven't burned myself out of them. The Tales of series have been sort of a guilty pleasure for me. Its one of those game series where I fully welcome the cliches, and just go along for the ride. For me at the moment...Im kinda digging the story...though there talking to much about "the power of friendship" alot of times....but I am liking the characters so far...ya there Mary Sue guys, but for what it is..I just can't bring myself to hate these characters. But of course the main reason I play the Tales of series is the gameplay. And I am definitely loving the combat system. Being one of the first JRPG's I have played in a long time (half a year), this game is most certainly a breath of fresh air. Ah, because I've been on a JRPG spree as of late, maybe if I would've taken a break I would've liked it more...maybe not though. I know what you mean. A few years ago I had that same problem. Once you play one JRPG you have played them all right? Lol. I mean, my cliche alert was going off full force in my head once i met the Kid with daddy issues and the girl with amnesia. Just wait, man. The thing is riddled with cliches, it was hilarious to me! Lol, its like watching a B movie right? Lolz....like I said...cliche's don't bother me that much..I more of a gameplay guy...i dont let story and graphics ruin the game for me. Though I will admit...some of the aspects of the game as far as story went...it made me crack a grin on a absurd these cliches are. It really is like watching a Shonen Jump anime. Yeah...as a budding developer I make several stabs at stories to see what I can find. Gameplay and story will always be number one in my book when you're making a game, but all these new generation kids only care about how the game looks...the sad thing is I was born in the same generation as them. Terrible games, crappy music, the works...yeah, whoever raised these kids to be like this should be ashamed.

Really?
Seriously?
I need to find better friends in this game. -_- My luck seems to revolve around picking the 'interesting' people to have first interactions with.

Ana Helios What about me? Raven's actually fairly normal! No, Raven's cool. First actual cool dude Matt's had the pleasure of coming into contact with. Emma's okay, if a bit stiff. It's Athena I'm talking about... -_- First Yui, now this. I got no luck, I tell ya.

Hey, I'm getting back into a project I've been working on for a while now and need some feedback, seeing as I'm pretty much soloing this creation project and dont have anyone to bounce ideas off of.
Okay, so....what do you think of having standard classes, but then having specializations in those classes?
Like, take the paladin for example. Now, I could easily give him 10 spells, 5 being heavy hitting and 5 being healing spells....or i could make a holy specialization and a crusader specialization and make 10 of each, but you only get to choose 1 specialization. Naturally I'd make a way to change specializations, but do you guys think this is a good idea?
