Edit: Yes you have to wait for one of your hatchlings to grow before you can get another egg. (You can have 3 hatchlings and 4 eggs). Also, don't post more than once per page. Most people find it rude and stop clicking your eggs/hatchlings. Actualy U can have 5 eggs and 3 hatchlings (i think) .
When you breed an egg, you can carry that one more.

Not exactly right. You can have 4 hatchlings max at a time. If you have 4 hatchlings and you want an egg, you cannot pick one up.
If you Breed two dragons and get an egg from the breeding, you are allowed to keep one along with the other four hatchlings.
If you have 3 hatchlings and 0 eggs, you can get 4 eggs, or breed and get eggs.
If you have 4 hatchlings and 0 eggs, you can't get eggs, or breed and get an egg.
The limit is more on how many hatchlings then eggs. You can have as many eggs as you want until you get 4 hatchlings, then you cannot get eggs unless you breed and that only works for a 5th egg. Thus what happened with my sister, she adopted 4 eggs and bred one then bred one that hatched. Then she bred again for the gray egg I'm pretty sure.
