Since Final Fantasy 14 is the antithesis of fun, I've decided that I'm going to make it fun, dammit.

Depends on if I get bored / give up trying to pull off what I want to do.

i was finally able to dl it, but the updater's not... updating. this bodes ill.
also, the beta test site has me logged in as some chump named Shev, when not 3 seconds prior it apparently forgot i could log in and told me i didn't have an account. this bodes very ill.

Well, my steps to get the game running were to let the updater do it's thing for a while, then hunt down the actual torrent files, download those manually, then place them in the necessary directories. Then I had to uninstall my antivirus so that the game could install the updates properly. I re-installed my antivirus, and finally got the game running.
It's a little... worrisome, that the beta site logged you in as someone completely different.
