Said Yang seemingly with a hint of doubt in her voice. However it was most obvious that she was now to be entertained by the rather...spirited, male in front of her.

Yang dropped his head with a smirk and as he did a darkness quickly enveloped his body seemingly condensing it to a small orb that blinked out of existence. It reappeared a short ways up. In the rafters of the tavern where Yang was used to being. Reversing the method to which it caused the transportation Yang was once more, only now sitting on the rafter leaning against a support beam. Gripping the neck of the Sake Jug he watched over the others as they engaged in their various activities.

Having given a nod to Yang,she watched the orb fade away. She had hoped he would return in the near future. Looking back to the stranger she grinned. "I am the law here...far as I know you have done no harm to me or mine..." Daisy drew her attention as she began tiding up. "By and by sweet sister, I feel as you." She threw back another shot, clinked the glass against Mals' and waited for another.

-Mal poured Angel another glass, handing this one to her before he took a drink of his own- Well Ms. Law, I'm a thief most of the time. Occasionally I'll take up the odd job that I'm offered but usually I just steal in order to pay for rooms, food, or drink. Mostly drink. Sometimes I'll buy a gift for a lovely lady like yourself, in order to impress her of course. -He took another swig- Now, being what I am I have certain physical advantages to humans or even other elves. As such, some of the odd jobs I'm offered coincide with my other profession. I’m not a famous thief, not really. I’ve stolen enough priceless –Mal made air quotes when he said priceless- items to certainly warrant, well warrants. But I don’t like to leave any sort of calling card. That way if I get caught for one crime I won’t be charged for the others. Now, this one time I was propositioned to steal the Staff of the Rose, you ever hear of that? –Mal didn’t give Angel enough time to answer- I don’t care that much for magic so all I really know is that it was the staff of a famous arch-mage and that it allegedly had some directions on it that led to the wizard’s private laboratory that had never been found. For some reason, I guess the wizards in charge of taking care of the staff never went looking for it. Probably some rule in the colleges or something like that. –He took another drink- Well, it was surprisingly easy to actually steal the staff. The staff was traveling college to college as part of an exhibit to that arch-mage. As a thief the easiest kind of detection network to bypass is the kind that has to be taken down and brought back up on a regular basis. There’re so many holes in this kind of defense that it might as well not exist. I was able to get in and out without being detected with the staff in tow. –He finished off his drink and poured himself another one- Now the important part of the story is that I took an etching of all the marks in the staff, copying the directions to the lab. I didn’t tell my employer how long it’d take for me to steal the staff so I had enough time to bribe a student the next day to translate the markings. It only cost me about half the half I was paid upfront for the staff. –He laughed lightly- I handed the staff into my employers for my other half and set off to find the lab before they did. When I finally found the place I cleared it out and sold its contents to the university I stole that staff from. I gave them a good price though, it was my little way of thanking them for letting me steal the staff. –He laughed before he took a drink-I only wish I could have been there to see the faces of my employers when they found the empty lab. A few months later I tracked the staff back down, stole it, and returned it to the university, free of charge. And I lived happily ever after, going on to steal the hearts of many a fair lady -Mal took a bow, accidentally smacking his head against the bar- Ow...

As Daisy made the call to order supplies, she saw Star emerging from the shadows. She watched as her sister took the farthest barstool and barely audible asked for a scotch on the rocks with the bottle left. Against better judgement, she added that to the list of her to do.

When she hung up, like any good barmaid would, she served her sister what she wished for asking, "Star, honey, what's got you bothered so much you are turning to drink?"

Astonished at the fear and sadness in her sister's voice, she wasn't sure what to say. She simply put her clipboard down behind the bar and went to console her sister. Nothing else could be done at the time.

Embracing Star, Daisy felt much better and hoped her sister did as well. "If there's anything I can do, let me know would ya?" she said with hopes that it would lighten the air a bit.

Knowing it would take quite some time to get through this time in their lives, Daisy could only hope for happiness to be restored marginally to this once popular, once happy place they all referred to as home.

-Mal rubbed his head gently- Well I'm glad you enjoyed my story milady. -He cast a glance towards his drink not sure if now was the moment to say that he wasn't done with that or if he should wait a little longer for his metabolism to filter some of his blood back into his alcohol stream- And my head is fine. Not really painful, and far from the worst injury I've sustained in a tavern

-Mal leaned onto the bar- I don't know about this tavern but it's considered poor form not to return a story with one of your own. So, any interesting stories of your own?
