Efflo snatched the glowworm back from Gabby, holding it protectively to his chest while the little grub wriggled indignantly in the dragon's direction.
He nodded apologetically to Thackery, bowing his head a little.
"Sorry, Thackery, thank-you for the offer but marriage requires well... Wanting to get married. And I don't. And I don't want a slave either. Gabriel can do what he wants."
His sorry expression muddled, the boil not really sure what emotion to feel. The peppermint spell had definitely worn off and he was feeling particularly petulant, the grumpy pony having settled back in. The mention of marriage had spooked him a little, it was something he hadn't even dared nor wanted to think about. Eternal happiness was one thing, but marriage? He hadn't even made it to Year 2 yet! He'd just bought his first shirt recently! He wasn't remotely ready for marriage. Plus he was pretty sure his boilfriend had possibly just suggested a threesome. In the end, he just ended up doing a sort of confused-looking grimace, which he figured they could all deal with because the alternative was him stalking off angrily away from the both of them.

Riley paused to think about Malodore's compliment, before a very slow, but far from delicate brush against its limbic system occurred. For something so sweet, she couldn't help but give it a kiss. You should be careful, Malodore. Her voice was thicker now, lower. I am quite stirred by the things you say. I may not be able to control my feelings around you, and I assure you, I feel quite a lot right now.
She reached up and tapped her finger against the tip of its beak. All because of you.
Roch had come in a little late--getting pictures taken, playing with Lark and Ben--and then hearing JD on stage, well, it was no wonder, he thought as he headed on stage, motioning to the rest of the band. He grabbed a few things and sat down on his stool.
This was Seiji's song--but after sitting through so many Labyrinth songs he was a little worried about the guy.

Lucky for Seiji he had been nowhere near the big top when JD had taken the stage and started playing every song imaginable from a movie that served as a constant reminder to broken heart. Songs that, if the ghost had been present, still had the ability to tear at wounds that were not quite 100% healed. Songs that apparently his ex had been dancing too with no visible sign of the memory they had carried.
Yes, it was a really good thing Seiji had been off with Sarias getting his picture taken and doing jack knew what else.
He hopped back up on stage and slid behind his drum set, dark brows arching ever higher at the looks of concern that were being directed at him by at least two band mates. "What?" Had he missed something? Was there lipstick all over his mouth or something? A quick examination in the closest cymbal said there was not, so he stared back at Roch, clearly puzzled.
Whatever, they had a song to do. Seiji slipped on a headset with a mic, grabbed his drumsticks from the jar beside his stool, twirled them once, then nodded at Roch that they could start. He got dis.
A certain blue haired banshee may have been tossed a wink, and an exaggerated air kiss as the jikininki fell right back into that smug, happiness he'd been feeling most of the night.

"Nice color, bro," Roch said. "It suits you," he added, grinning now that he realized that the other boil hadn't heard. He wasn't about to mention it--but the lipstick on the corner of Seiji's mouth, that was fair game.

Nahm grinned wider, pointed a thumb at Seiji, and made a teasing tchk-tchk sound.
Junko sighed with relief as they slowed down and finally allowed herself to look up from the floor now that she didn't have to worry about stomping on Hel's feet. Relaxing was what finally let her realize what song was being sung. The already pale ghoul's face paled and her hands tightened on Hel. What..how long had this song been playing? How many of these songs had she been dancing to? "O-oh? You..didn't enjoy last year?" Had it been things that happened? She hoped so. Last year's prom had been her responsibility, she hoped it was something had happened personally to Hel and not she just didn't enjoy the prom itself. Please, please. "I'm, um..glad you're having a better time this year.." End song. End. Please. Not even because of Hel, she just wanted a new song. New song. Please. She cleared her throat.
For once Junko was grateful for Hel's presence. The Valkyrie wasn't being rude, she was doing a good job keeping conversation Junko could cling to instead of hearing the music. What she hoped was a subtle glance and a small frown was cast briefly in Seiji's direction before she shook her head and turned back to Hel with a smile instead. "Mut? Is that someone new?"
A..truce dance? Junko blinked. "You want...a truce? I do not fight because I do not like to fight..but...Seiji taught me how to defend myself during all those field trips we kept having..." Oh. Mac. "I um..knocked you out. So. I called for Mac because I can't carry you...he was really, really quick about showing up. He took you to the infirmary for me...I'msorry." She really was sorry for knocking her out.

The ghost blinked, glanced back at his cymbal again, then let out a bark of laugh at the dark smear that was still at the corner of his mouth. Oops.. Grinning, he wiped the bit of color away, broad shoulders shrugging at both Roch and Nahm. Sorry, not sorry.
"Alright Boils and Ghouls! Let's get this show on the road, shall we?" With a wide grin the ghost pointed a drum stick towards the reaper.
Roch began to play, and Seiji began to sing.
"I’m bleeding out So if the last thing that I do Is bring you down I’ll bleed out for you So I bare my skin And I count my sins And I close my eyes And I take it in I’m bleeding out I’m bleeding out for you, for you."
He may or may not have sent a significant look over towards a certain banshee ghoul as he started playing his drums before he began to sing again, attention all for his playing and the song itself.
Though it was really hard to tell skin tone in the tent, Hel didn’t miss the way Junko’s hands tightened on her, and she tilted her head, humming a bit. “Ya…just bad timing for personal s**t.” That was all she said on the matter, and luckily that assured that it was in no way, because of Prom. Also, sorry Junko, since Hel was watching your face while they danced, she didn’t miss the look or the small frown, and the ghoul being nosey had her looking for whatever Junko was looking at. Though with so many creeple it was sort of hard to tell…but it did narrow it down to the band on stage…hrm.
“Oh ya…she is a first year I met before she enrolled while traveling. Small, fluffy, snot nosed…” Hel paused, before she grinned. “Not so much that I want a truce, more that it has already happened!” She listened to what Junko had to say, nodding her head a bit, and then looked rather surprised. “…He was really, really quick, huh?” She echoed, and then was looking through the crowd herself for said boil. Oh…oh…she was so asking when she found him.
Hel snapped her head back around though and laughed. “Stop apologizing. Saying sorry means you will not do it again, but you should, if I take you back to the gym. So do not say sorry.”

Suddenly a Danny!
Amphi squeaked as she felt the familiar arms around her, her sad look completely disappearing with her fire friend there.
"Ah Danny you look um...." Amphi breathed in before seriously looking at Danny, "hot." Was the word she settled on, nothing to do with Danny being fire demon at all. Nope.
She followed the funny movements, some kind of jig or something right??
"Danny thank you for saving me..." QnQ so much for not sad face! Or maybe happy sad face.
Erebus was about to get ready to stand around awkwardly while Tomoko went off to dance with Jack when, well...
There were papers. On the floor. They looked like some official important papers too, except they were blank, so he bent down to pick them up.
And then stared.
"Uh... did anyone lose these?" Erebus attempted to raise his voice, but promptly realized that it would probably be drowned out by the music, so. He decided to wave the pieces of paper around in the air.

As the music changed again, Siddie noticed something on the floor. How odd. She bent down to pick up the paper, looking around for its owner so she could give it back. If she couldn't find anyone, she'd just put it on the table or something, but on the floor it was just going to get all trampled and wrinkled.
Conceding a sigh, Gene contented herself to simply bury her head in Mot's slightly bigger than the last time chest as their song ended and a new song began, a bit to upbeat for slow dancing. "Oooh, I like this song. It's not slow, but it's a fun one." She smiled up at the cowboil, slipping out of his grip so they could be a bit more free for the hyperactivity of the song.
The beat picked up, and the ghoul started to dance around, grinning rather foolishly. She just needed to let go that night, forget all the stress of planning for the cafe, the stress of thinking of graduation, and all the mess that had happened in the past year or so.

Uttam gave a haughty huff, rolling his eyes at the War couple. They could have their little night - but the fact was that they'd ran away from him. He'd won, whether they'd admit it or not.
Sneering at the dancers and whispering about how stupid they all looked, the Famine soldier slunk into a corner, glaring at anyone who looked his way.

As if on cue, Helmut waddled back through the crowd to find Hel, her tiny hands clasped nervously in front of her, her ears down and her eyes shifting to find the easiest way through the crowd without bother anyone or making eye contact. When she spotted the Reaper and a long haired woman standing side by side, Helmut's expression went from nervous to downright miserable. She gave a little glance to Junko before turning her attention to Hel, tugging pathetically on the bottom hem of the Reaper's little jacket.
"They ran out of fries." She pouted up at the ghoul. They had temporarily run out of fries, but it was just long enough for her to get antsy and realize she was in a room full of complete strangers. She did the first thing that came to mind; find Hel, complain about the fries...because she didn't want to complain about being lonely.

The banshee listened to the song with an air of disinterest, why did she care if the boil could carry a tune....kind of reasonably well....ok better than well, not that she was going to cheer and clap for him but deep down she was taking in every word....it sounded like one of their many nights in. It was touching. She gave him a quick look and fought the need to stick her middle finger up at him in a display of not caring but somehow her hands remained down beside her waist and her eyes searched for his, blushing horribly when she saw his look. It was like her stomach fell and her heart restarted as she caught his glimpse and her need to go running out of the room crept over her.
She was getting in too deep. She was starting to....like him. Not just for the potential she saw in him, the ruthlessness, the power....his body too of course. Undead god she liked his mind too, his humour, his personality....the way he held her after they had finished leaving teeth marks and bruises on each other. This was getting serious and for a moment the world swayed and she felt like screaming. It was bubbling up inside her, a primordial need to rip the ears off anyone within a 5 mile radius.
Maybe she should go before she ruined more than her chances with Seiji, if there was even such a thing to save. What did they have? It was nothing of course. It was nothing. She should go, go tear a throat out of a first year or something.....
