The Almighty Ali

PostPosted: Sun Oct 25, 2009 3:35 pm

No, my plans are that of peaceful conquest and progress. It is Yawg who I assume wants to make it into a fight between him and me to see if i'm "allowed" to do so.* Ali smirked a little and lifted her hand off his shoulder, putting it onto Yawg's hand that rested on her shoulder instead.* And you're right Yawg, We've even come to the realization that if you were killed then your Phyrexians would be severely weakened and most likely fall under Gix's command. Which we then could speculate would cause either a slight civil war between those that would embrace him as Leader and those that wouldn't or he'd send me a nice thank you letter. Because if they got a mind of their own then they'll always have ambitions.

Yawgmoth leaned down and placed his chin lightly atop Ziven's blue hair. "As lovely as the past few months have been in solitude with you my dear, yes. Aliator is right. We choose to oppose him for the value of the battle. You see in the time that we were away from you. The time we spent in that void. We think a few things got out of check. One of them was that we used to stand as equals. Our bouts hinging on a few split second decisions but no one was superior. We think, that a certain someone" he said grinning to Ali "Has gotten the idea that he's so much better than we are now. So much more powerful. We think, it is time to remind him and the people of this pathetic mudball what power really is."

Ziven closed her eyes and inhaled calmly, sighing softly. She understood what both were saying and felt that they were, perhaps, not seeing things the same way. "I know you want to prove yourself, this is one area you and I strive for equally. To prove ourselves. Where you and I differ, however, is that I will remain detached as I am, not needing to prove this, where as you feel you must." she said softly, tilting her head up to look to him with a gentile smile.

Arthon and the cloaked woman came in, he being carefully led by her. He was still in the midst of his coughing fit so he could not answer the woman, but with a wave of his hand (and some of his own pulling) he managed to sit down at a vacant table. The coughing continued for a couple of minutes and he cursed himself allowed as best he could after each one. Finally, after some gasping for air and wiping of blood from the mouth, he smiled and closed his eyes. "Dear god, that was more exhausting than the run." He looked young, but his sickness obviously made him weak. "Now... food? Yes? While I think of a solution for your problems?" His voice was almost pleading, but he managed to retain enough of his dignity to hide his complete desperation. And the elf would never admit it, bu the room was beginning to spin. Out loud he murmured something about the food at the last town and his stomach started to rumble again.

Yes, food was what he needed. Then perhaps she could talk to him about getting some more potion, some stronger stuff. Or maybe some other solution. If she was going to kill people, she wanted to know what she was doing. And if she was cursed to one day torment the residents of Hell, she wanted that to come in its own time, not randomly. It was quite troublesome. But food! Yes, that was most important! Dalia looked around, and spotted a rather busty women who looked to be a worker, perhaps a waitress, in the Inn. She caught the woman's attention, "Hey b***h! Do your job and feed us!" Dalia yelled. The woman, either intimidated by Dalia's words or her aura, nodded fearfully and ran off behind a closed door. Dalia looked back at Arthon, "Just another minute. Try not to die."
Just as predicted, a moment later the busty woman came running back out and set two plates of food down on the table before Dalia and the elf. They were being fed some kind of stew and bred. Dalia grimaced. She would have preferred raw meat, but stew would have to do. After murmuring a thanks, the woman bounced off, leaving Arthon and Dalia alone.
She picked up a spoon and dipped it into the stew. After fending for herself on the outside world for so long, she wasn't used to being fed a cooked meal. Even when she was living with her parents they rarely ate cooked food. For some reason raw meat was the most appetizing, despite it being disgusting to most beings in the world. "Enjoy." She said, "This is my apology, so savor it."

Arthon laughed at Dalia's show of determined domination, which only made him cough; but the cough was very worth it. "Have you ever mused with the idea the people don't quite like you because of how you treat them? Not just because of what you are?" The elf fully expected some sort of menacing glare, an empty threat perhaps. He hoped for it. Unlike with her, people were always far too nice to him. It was just as sickening to have everyone pitying him as the coughing up blood was. At least this girl was different. When the food go there he asked the woman to wait, gulped down the soup without chewing once, shoved the bread in his mouth, then asked for a larger helping. The waitress looked at him sadly, then nodded her head and left. She made sure to stay clear of the Tiefling of course. "And your apology continues to be delicious. Now then," he set his book on the table and placed his hand upon it. "I can supply you with another potion. Easily. However, if it did not permanently solve your problem the first time, then it will not do so the second time. Nor the thousandth time. It will never truly work. I can, probably come up with a more... complete solution. But that will cost you." He smiled a pleasant, yet predatory smile to Dalia as he was handed a second bowl of soup.

Turning slightly so she could see around her husband to the two new comers, she watched them with a calm expression for a few moments before relaxing again. The rude words from these newcomers did upset her, but she would hold her tongue for now.

She glared at him, just as he had expected. She treated others the way she did because they treated her poorly. When she first went into the outside world, she was friendly, she worked for an honest living, she tried to make friends. In less than a year in the outside she was thrown out of inns, chased out of towns, and had several dozen objects thrown at her. People did not like the descendants of demons. Not most of them anyway. Some very open minded individuals gave her food and shelter for the night. Some people befriended her. Some even spoke to her kindly. But Dalia was a roaming soul. She could never stay anywhere for long. Not when there was so much world to be discovered. "People made me this way" She growled. She did not expect any sort of response or even a hint of pity or sign of belief from Arthon. She didn't care... really.
But then he began speaking about the potion. "You want me to pay you for something that may not even work?" She exclaimed, accidentally dropping her spoon onto the table. She picked it up again. "I don't think so, Arthon." ...But she needed to stop the visions. If she could. What if it was just part of what she was? What if nothing could stop it? Trying to stop the visions could have been the same as trying to rip off an angel's wings or cut off an elf's ears.
Upon having that thought, she looked up to the elf in front of her. His ears were quite pointed. They would bleed- No! She shook her head. "Fine. How much would it cost?"

This bowl of soup he ate more slowly, sending off the waitress with a thank you and a smile. Who was he to judge Dalia? She was just trying to get by, in her own way. "But here we are, in a place that seems to accept all, and you still call the first stranger you see a b***h." With a shake of his head he broke off a piece of bread and let it soak in the soup for a bit. "And that excuse is over-used. People can be cruel to you, but that does not mean you need to be cruel back."
After she spoke and dropped her spoon, however, he decided to drop the leisurely matters and go straight to business. Carefully he pushed his bowl aside just far enough to open his book. Upon the opening of the book a harsh whisper broke into the room, obviously discontented, but in a mixture of so many languages it was almost incoherent. "Sush, child. We will find a home soon." At his words the whispers soothed but did not leave.
"Now, your payment will be simply a vial of your blood. The vial will buy you all the potions you need until I finish the main serum. And, should that fail, it will buy you every potion thereafter until you are cured." At her rather intense stare at his ears her cocked an eyebrow and added, "However, if your blood lust gets directed at me one more time, I will make sure that every time you close your eyes your visions will be much worse." He did not smile as he said this, and even through his weakened eyes a fiery passion burned. He did not like pain, nor the idea of death.

Dalia laughed, for the first time in a while, and shook her head. Her laughter was calm and unweighted. "I'm sorry, my mind sometimes escapes me and..." She paused, fishing for the right words to complete her sentence. "... does things I'd rather it not do. His threat had indeed spurred her quick apology and explanation, but she did not want to cause this man to back away from his offer at any time. She was in need of his potions. But she would need to think. What purpose did her blood serve him? Was he going to experiment with her blood? Was he going to perform some sort of strange voodoo? She had no idea. So she changed the subject.
"Your book seems a little impatient." She said, smiling. It was a curious thing. Dalia had seen many things, but never before had a book full of whispers been put in front of her. She ate some of her soup reluctantly, stalling before responding to the question at hand. Not much could be done with blood, as far as she knew. But what did she know about magic? Very little. For all she knew he could kill her with a small vial of blood. What was he planning?
No harm in asking. "Okay, I'll pay you. If blood's what you want, I've got plenty to go around. But tell me, what do you want it for? As she spoke she rested her elbows on the table and leaned forward, staring intently into his eyes, trying to read him, trying to catch hints of lies. Not that she thought he would lie... but one could never be too careful.

The Elf nodded his head to show acceptance of her reasoning, but kept a careful eye on her. When the book was mentioned he smiled and placed his hand upon it. "It has lots to tell, and has lots of things within it. it is mainly impatient, however, because i filled it to the brim with things that don't belong in books." Arthon patted the book for a moment, but then it suddenly seemed to slam shut on his hand. For a moment he did not react, but then he slowly pulled his hand out and smiled painfully. "It has a mind of its own, unfortunately. Just mad that I don't use it except for holding things that it does not want to hold." Then, with a wave of his hand, he dismissed the whole conversation. No more would be said about it on his end, no matter her reaction.
"And as for your blood, I will use it in potions and such. Blood is a good component to almost all potions, and Tiefling blood is hard to get... willingly that is. But as you can tell, I am no position to go out and hunt Tieflings, nor am I interested." His eyes were too clouded over to reveal anything, nor did his voice give anything away. he seemed to be telling the truth, or had mastered the art of deceit. "So, deary, do we have a deal?" Carefully he extended his hand across the table to her, his hand shaking ever so slightly.

Full of things books were not meant to hold... Dalia looked at the book, almost with pity. She jumped when it slammed shut, but did not react otherwise. A book with a mind of its own? How would it feel to be a book? A mind being shoved into such a small space. It must have been quite boring. Dalia, in her vast world and movable form, even got bored sometimes. Dalia's eyes shifted over to the elf.
For a split second another vision came to her. She saw a singular, crying child in front of her. In his hands was a bloodied knife, at his feet were the corpses of his mother and father. His punishment? To kill them over and over again, just as he had in life. But the vision was gone again, and soon Dalia had returned to the inn, staring at Arthos. She looked at him for a long while, having forgotten why she was with him, what he was extending his hand to her for, and why she was staring at him. Despite his sickly appearance, he was, indeed, quite handsome. How did he look before the illness took him?
Dalia smiled at him, and remembered everything that had escaped her mind before. Yes yes, he wanted her blood, didn't he? Dalia reached forward, and let her palm linger a moment in the air before sliding it forward, and into Arthon's hand. "Deal, Arthon." Anything to help her defeat the images that cursed her. Anything to stop the unconscious killings. Anything to help.

Arthon watched her with a mild interest as she spaced out. It was quite obvious that, although she had once told him how she enjoyed killing, these dreams were horrid to her. Once Dalia and come back to the conversation all he did was smile and nodded his head. Finally she took his hand and his smile widened even more. "Deal, then." Suddenly, although his hand did not seem to flex or change at all, his grip oh her hand almost became bone shattering. She would find herself secured there, unable to break out of his grasp. Slowly, as if taking his time, Arthon opened his book and uttered the smallest word. A spike, about an inch in diameter, then shot out of the palm of his hand through hers. "Sorry about this. Old magic, you know." He smiled and slid the book under their hands.
Very roughly the spike retracted from Dalia's hand, causing blood to pour from the fresh would. The blood dripped onto the book, which seemed to drink it and leave no trace it had ever been there. A strange happiness seemed to emanate from the book as the blood was consumed. Finally, after a few seconds that would seem like an eon for the Tiefling, he let go of her hand. The would would heal itself in a matter of seconds. "See, that wasn't too bad was it?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 25, 2009 11:15 pm

Dalia hissed and winced as the spike was driven through her palm. As the pain continued, she tightened her clawed hands around his frail hand -though it proved to be quite strong- and writhed on the spot. The tiefling had to resist the urge to yell out in pain and shock as her blood dripped onto the book and out of sight. She did not like the sight of her own blood, which was several shades darker than human blood. It reminded her of tar, thick and dark. When he released her hand she pulled it away as quickly as she could and held it to her breast. "God Dammit!" She growled, "That hurt!" She expected no less from Arthon, but hoped it would have been a painless procedure. At least he was kind enough to apologize beforehand.
Dalia gazed at her hand as the wound mended itself. She licked the remaining blood off her palm and fingers. It tasted more bitter than human or animal blood. As she licked off the remaining blood, she looked once more at her clean palm, and realized that the wound was completely gone. It was as though nothing had happened in the first place. "I hope it helps." She let out a short laugh and took another spoonful of soup. "I thought for sure when you said 'pay' you would have meant money or... deeds. You know? Not blood." This time when she laughed it was much longer, much more real. "You're an interesting elf, Arthon."
Dalia stood and put some money down on the table. "I hope my thanks was sufficient, Arthon." Over the course of her day much had happened, and it was time for her to retreat into her dream world filled with the pain and suffering of others. Dalia paid for a room for the night, and retreated into her chambers. As she fell onto the mattress she almost immediately fell asleep. And the dreams were there. Tormenting others, but also tormenting herself. A demon's work is never done. Not even after hundreds of generations.

Arthon simply shrugged and let himself relax for a moment. He looked extremely tired after what he just did, and his hand was gently bleeding from her clawing him. Despite all that, once he caught his breath, he smiled to her. "I would never take advantage of a Lady, Dalia. And as for being interesting..." He chuckled lightly and nodded. "... I like interesting. It makes sure things never get dull. And if I might say, you are rather interesting as well." he smiled and watched her walk off, then slowly finished his food. Reaching into the pocket of his pants he then pulled out a small Amethyst as a tip for the waitress, paid for a room in gold, and slowly moved to his room. Once he got there he closed and locked the door, then laid down and fell into an immediate slumber.
