I suppose it's not a blue shell per se.
But most weapons can level up to "hit everyone in front of you," combined with the computer's ability to use the shielding system perfectly since it's basically firing weapons at itself along with rubber-band AI that really doesn't feel like you're being rewarded at all for doing well, and...
... great, now I'm not sure why I'm enjoying the game.
... oh yeah. Customization. Sweet.
