After a long period of time a familiar face enters through the bar door, stepping in and towards the bar. Her eyes scan over the area to see some new faces. Which , she would expect from her long absence. The green haired girl found her usual seat near the bar, sat back with her elbows propped along the sticky surface and sighed with relief. It felt nice to be home, maybe poke her nose around to find some fresh buisness. "My, my.."

Entering in through the front door, Charis's eyes widen. The bluegreen orbs, one artificial one real, widening almost the moment that she 'floats in. Her upper body is wrapped in a warm blanket, protection against the cold weather. The lower half of her body however explains why she is so bundled. Instead of legs this femme has a tail, one made of fins and scales. Although slightly grayed from the cold, they still have some of their vibrant teal color. Charis is able to float because of three rings, rings that fit snugly against her tail, between her fins. After her first wide-eyed and rather scared look around the room she moves over to an open seat next to Seisuke. Hes the only one here that she knows very well, the others are all strangers. Well, except for Ziven, but Ziven has seated herself up by the rafters and seems to be talking to one of the more.. intimidating figures there.

Alanna blinks at the entrance of the fishlike woman. She tilts her head with curiosty trying to make out what she could possibly be. A fishtail? A womans upper body? A mermaid?! She chuckled ligthly to herself, moving a hand to cover the small smirk and muffled laugh. Though, her amusement was not at the sight of the girl herself, just the thought that she never believed in mermaids, and this girl fit he role. Hopping down from her seat Alanna noticed that she had not been noticed. Moving over to the girl, she stood to the side, her arms held behind her back and her green hair tucked behind both ears. "Hey there!"

Looking up Charis's head-fins flare in surprise. Both eyes wide as one even appears to dim and brighten for a few seconds. Alana probably won't be able to tell but that was just Adelaide taking in the appearance of this new acquaintance. Although her arms are hidden in the blanket, slender fingers tighten around its warm cloth. Its a reaction, utter surprise and shock to being greeted in such a way. It also brings back some of her habits from when she first arrived here, things like talking softly, almost whispering, when addressed. "Uhh.. hi?"

When Chari's fins flarred and eyes dilated Alanna looked on in intrest but stepped back slightly. Who knows if she became defensive to the sudden greeting. A small gasp escaped her lips, and her eyes focussed on the table for a moment, but a warm smile spread over her face. "You don't mind me asking, but are you a mermaid of sorts?" She did not mean this in a bad way, or to offend Charie, but she was very to the point when asking questions. Her cool grey eyes seemed to twinkle waiting for the answer, almost like one her childhood dreams was about to come true.

It takes a while for Charis's eyes to loose their shocked expression, although not as wide they're still a bit fearful. She has lived here for a little while, but mostly spent her time in one location. Her years at school were spent hiding the true nature of her being. So to have someone so bluntly ask her about her nature, in a way that isn't demeaning nor calculating is a surprise to her. The fins by her head relax and slowly she nods, glancing at the others about the room. "I... I guess. Though.. I haven't seen any others like me since I was taken."

Not waiting another moment, Alanna seated herself at the table across from Charie, still keeping the friendly smile. "You don't know? Thats a funny answer." She laughed lightly and placed both elbows upon the table and her chin inside her hands. Alanna was a very open person so it did not bother her much to speak with someone shy. Moving her eyes along the table she examined Charie's cloth wrapped about her. "I like your shawl. It suits you I think." She smiled, trying to keep to more social conversation to loosen her up more. Though, in the back of her head she was curious in what she said before, '..since I was taken.' This worried Alanna, but Charie seemed to be able to handle herself well. Especially living here amongst certain members.

If Alanna was to ask about what Charis had meant she would be answered with the truth and although hesitantly spoken, an answer would be given her. In truth she is rather bad at taking care of herself. But fortune found her a good friend to invite her into his home and watch after her. Seisuke, whom the girl still refers to as akri. He was the one who healed her wounds, erased her scars and even gave her Adelaide. With the distance of a table between them, Charis seems to relax a bit, her shoulders loosing their tension and the blanket wrapped around her sliding a bit off her shoulders. "I do not know because I don't know what you mean by 'mermaid'. I'm just one of the few remaining of my people." It seems that the subject of her nature and heritage is one that she is not afraid to talk about, as her voice has grown in strength somewhat. Yet the second statement puzzles her, a shawl? "Oh.. umm thank you. But this is just something to keep me warm, really... its only a blanket."

Senstren

PostPosted: Sat Feb 07, 2009 1:52 pm

A cloaked figure opened the door and stepped in, quickly closing the door after him. Dusting some snow off of the cloak, he lowered the hood, revealing his disturbingly dark blue eyes. Pulling his earphones out, he returned them to his pocket. Cracking his neck lightly, he finally turned to gaze around the room to see who was actually there. His eyes came to rest on Alanna's familiar face. He walked up to her and the mermaid and rested his hand on the back of Alanna's chair. "Long time no see. May I join you two?" He asked, smiling warmly.

Alanna sat back and closed her eyes to give herself a mental picture and description. "A 'Mermaid' is a race distinguished by its aquatic like features of the lower extreminites, and the upper appearance of a woman. Although this discription is also used to describe sea going Sirens, but those have the taste for human flesh. Trapping mindless men in thier watery graves." She felt something touch near her back on the chair. Opening her eyes she turned to look upon Senstren's face. A small smile showed off how she felt about seeing him. "Of course not! Sit down." She leaned over and patted a chair that was to the side of Alanna and Charie, sort of placing him in a side middle seat.

Just as when Alanna first approached her, Charis's eyes widen. Her arms becoming rigid under the blankets. Without even realizing it she scoots a bit closer to Seisuke (who seems to be catatonic). In the presence of strange women she is skittish at best, when meeting men for the first time, Charis is just downright petrified. She knows and trusts that her akri won't let anything happen to her and he is near, yet still she seems to shrink in on herself. "I... I... I am Atlantean. We... we all look like this now... well.. those of us who survived the... the destruction."
PostPosted: Sat Feb 07, 2009 2:18 pm

Alanna's jaw dropped a bit. Did she hear the correct words? Atlantean? She was by far stunned from hearing the knews. Even as a necromancer, a type of person that roams the earth for hundreds of years, this civilization has been missing for far longer. "Atlantean? ATLANTIS?! The lost city! Are you serious! My father has not been able to discover much about that lost city, and he is Death!" Alanna had jumped up from her seat now and has her hands pressed against the table. She was more then excited now, absolutely thrilled to know this. She moved over and hugged Charie tight with a big grin. "Thats so amazing!"

Senstren

PostPosted: Sat Feb 07, 2009 2:20 pm

Senstren noted the strange behavior of the girl, but assumed it was related to the story she was telling. Quickly reaching over and grabbing a sobe from the bar, he quickly turned back to the two. "I don't mean to interrupt, but while I'm up, would either of you like a drink?" He asked, gesturing to the wall behind the bar. He got the feeling the girl had a long story to tell, and he wanted to be able to listen to it all the way through. Seeing Alanna's outburst, he raised an eyebrow and chuckled a bit.

Alanna begins speaking up in such an enthused manner and Charis completely forgets that there is another stranger at the table. Her head-fins fold and flatten to her head, body becoming even smaller in an attempt to hide from the loud sounds. Its not that she is being rude to Senstren, really thats one of the last things that she wants to do, but the shock and fear from such an outburst has erased him, temporarily from her attention. When she speaks up her voice is so very soft that even Charis can barely hear it and its almost spoken on a whimper. "I.. I did not know it was that shocking. Perhaps... I was wise to keep that hidden... from.." She shakes her head, blue hair flying up on either side of her face, "No... no that is past... that is gone."

She smiled wide and let go of Charis carefully, to not startle her once more. "I'm sorry. As far as anyone knows, that great city vanished long ago. No one even really believes its real. Only a myth." Alanna moved a single finger over her mouth, puckering them out with a funny face. "Its nothing to hide, but I'd be warry of whom you tell of that. Its still just amazing to me! I won't tell a soul." She moved back to her seat, finally remembering Senstren had asked a question. She shook her head as a no, but appreciated the gesture.
