Ahh, Halo.
I used to play a looong time ago, back in my Jr. year of highschool when it was first out for the original X-Box.
My friend would host "Halo parties" at his house, and we ended up having two X-boxes, one on either side of the room, music, food, and lots of shouting.
Oh man, those were so much fun.
I died so much too, but that's half the fun, and how you learn. Especially when it was death by getting run over by a tank cause one of my friends on the other team was such a little b*****d and stole all the vehicles, hiding them like, way out of the way somewhere where only they could get them. 8D I miss those days. And I was pretty darned scary when I got my hands on the tank. I was pretty good at capture the flag too.
Man, now I wanna play again. >>

Halo parties were the only good thing about it. Used to live with some friends, and 4 of us had 360s. So sometimes on the weekends we'd just have huge Halo parties.
Kinda prefer Gears parties though. >.> I used to be a master at chainsawing in the middle of a firefight.
Mmm, curbstomp.

I had played Halo and Halo 2 before, but never owned an Xbawks, so I didn't exactly have a lot of experience. When Halo 3 came out I picked it up since I had a Three-Sitty and just about everyone else I knew was going to have Halo 3. Plus I had played the beta for it when I picked up Crackdown, which was a fantastic game. Kinda pissed me off though that people would come into the store (I was working at GameStop at the time) and complain that they had to spend sixty whole dollars for the Halo 3 beta. I'm guessing they took the package home and took a knife to Crackdown or something, never to play it and only looking at it to curse it's existence.
Anyways, Halo: Reach has proved fun enough that I'd consider buying it even if nobody else will, though I'm pretty sure most people will anyways, so yay.

I feel that Reach is pretty balanced, grenades notwithstanding.

The only thing I wish they'd change is that annoying "shotgun then melee" trick that everyone does all the time. Everything I'm reserving judgment on due to the fact that it's a beta and that people have probably found plenty of ways to break the game as it is.

Silver Alexander Man, I really want to like Resonance of Fate, but I can not get a firm grasp of the combat mechanics at all. The FIRST boss was a nightmare to beat. On a sadder note, Ronnie James Dio died today. Bummer. How did I not hear about this until just now?! Damn.

Ah the shotty melee thing. That's old. Though wasn't necessary all the time in 3 as you could sometimes one shot with the shotty. But you kind of always follow up a shotgun blast with a melee. I do it with the other weapons too. Charge at someone with the AR, empty the clip into them to get their shield down, melee to finish off. BR, couple of bursts to get the shield down, melee. S'how it works in that game.
And I see an Erinn. *hug*

We lost one of our 'shining stars' a few days back.
Brilliant doctor, 43, died in his sleep from heart failure. Left behind wife, and two daughters, 10 and 12. Part of a cycling team, and mountain climbing group. Fit as a fiddle. Felt flu like symptoms, went to sleep early, and didn't wake up.

Damn that sucks. That's young, and strange for how active he was to get heart failure at 43.
