Someone set a fire in my sister's basement. Wasn't too bad, but they couldn't stay in their house for about two weeks. So they stayed at my house. I live with my parents, a chihuahua, and a cat. Both my mom and I are chronically ill, my mom's always in pain and I'm easily hurt. The dog hates everyone who isn't my parents and the cat hates everyone who isn't me. The house is very clean and usually very quiet.
My sister is married with four kids under the age of 7 and they have a golden retriever. Four small kids are very loud but that wasn't a big deal. The baby screamed whenever she wasn't held but even when I had a migraine it wasn't an issue. I'd even go in my room when it was their bedtime so they wouldn't wanna stay awake and always changing the channel to some kid show when they were in the room wasn't a problem. When the kids were yelling they wanted pancakes and we didn't have the mix, I looked up a recipe online and helped my sister make homemade ones. Them jumping on me and my mom was a big deal. We don't respond well to 50lbs of child landing on us after we told them 6 times that it hurts. They were given a rule by their dad to not sit on the same couch cushion as me so they didn't hit me as much...30 seconds later they forget that rule. Our house isn't very child-proof either, so more than one of my mom's things were broken. Usually after an adult saying "Be careful near nana's stuff."
Their golden retriever is well behaved but always wants to play. The kids ignore her so she tried to play with the chihuahua and ended up hurting him. Tried to play with my cat, she ended up with a scratch on her nose and i needed to move my cat's food to my room because she wouldn't come downstairs for two weeks. Golden retrievers also shed buckets of hair every day. They also have strong jaws, so she destroyed many of the the chihuahua's toys.
Today they were finally able to go home. Then my mom gets a text from another sister bitching up a storm about how we complained that they were here. My dad made one comment about how much the dog shed...that's about it. Unless you count saying to the kids "You're hurting me." So random decorations are broken. My cat's still afraid to leave my room. Half the dog's toys are broken. And I waddle instead of walk because I'm so damn sore. And the sister who bitched, who had a spare room in her apartment while they stayed on our sectional couch, didn't do anything. And not a single "thanks" was heard.
I love my nieces and nephews but I am so glad that's over. If I had any baby fever, it died a brutal death.
And for a bit more extended family, my grandma and uncles are complete ******** idiots. Around Christmas, my grandpa's doctor said he had about 6 months to a year. It's been 6 months. You'd think a man with Stage IV Colon Cancer who lives with 3 other people would have all the help he needs, well you'd be wrong! One uncle rather be drunk or high than help his dying father open a pill bottle. The other uncle is a complete ******** spoiled brat, he's 40 years old and still needs his mom to make him food. And my grandmother HAS to be going senile because she doesn't seem to understand that my grandpa needs help. Hmm, maybe she just doesn't understand what happens in the end stages of life? Oh wait, she works in hospice! She knows exactly what ******** happens and what kind of help he'd need! So who brings him to his doctor appointments and radiation? My dad. His ******** son-in-law is the one to bring him. Neither uncle has a steady job, so wouldn't they help him while they're home all day? Nope. My mom has to go over on her days off because the ******** hide in their rooms all day instead of spending time with their dying father.

You poor dear. *hugs* There is nothing I can really do to help I suppose other than offer any support I can. I suppose having a little rant about it helps.
Family can be incredibly selfish and horrible. My grandmother lives on her own out in the country and we don't see her very often, but we go out there much much more than my uncle and his family. My dad goes out there whenever she calls saying she needs help and does all the jobs she needs doing when he goes out just to visit. My uncle rarely visits and just sits there doing nothing when he's over and he's still the golden child who can do no wrong and is the best of them. Its real saddening to see sometimes.
I wish you all the best and hope things improve. I know that somewhat sadly its not likely to, since people rarely change once they are set in their ways, but hope is sometimes the only thing we have.

And then I get on and see this post which is related to that. Feeling off all of a sudden. Maybe I'm not adapting to how things are around here nowadays - my personality included. I've turned into a different person this past year, and I don't see it being a good thing. I feel that I've become distant towards a few friends through my own actions. I'd rather not hurt them any further, so the conversations will be sparse from now on. Can't upset people if I'm not around, after all.

I don't know what to do. I don't know how to act. How to think. What can I do? Should I even do anything? If I do something, would anything change? My chest is starting to hurt... Starting to get upset as well. Hopefully I can get over this.

Nespin Fernagon iDistant Dreams So I have this friend. . .
She's a girl, but dresses like a boy and is often mistaken as a boy. Even when people know she's a girl they usually use the term "He" or "his" (etc). Her clothes choice are meant and designed for guys. Her hair "used to be" short-ish, but not so much as far as a boy-cut. Her act is innocent, in that she pretends to not understand any perverted jokes or even mild ones. Her voice isn't deep but passes enough to sound like a guy. When her friends debate against other people on her gender, she often watches the argument, doesn't say anything and perhaps laughs. She follows Christian ethics. Before she never ever swore. Lately, she has been swearing more frequently.
Problems:
1. Her friends worry about her and think of how she'll be treated in the future.
2. Doesn't correct her gender when someone mis-takes it
3. Has been to 2 (as far as I know) all guy sleepovers (in which, I'm pretty sure all those guys don't see her as a girl although know she is) [just playing videogames and what-not]
Minor-problems that make people misjudge her:
1. Refuses to touch the colour pink because it is too "girly"
2. Tries to do "boy actions" (Asks for us to play football with her, and plays SC2)
Recently, she got a haircut and didn't tell the hair cutter that she was a girl. The barber dude mis-took her order, took out a razor and shaved her head pretty much bald. . .now she definitely looks like a guy. Seeing a hint of happiness with her new hair cut, our group of friends (comprised of, say, 6 girls) asked her if she wanted to mistaken as a guy, and she just shrugged (Perhaps not wanting to lie that she actually does, but not wanting to give a straight answer as "Yes, I do")
Whatever she'll do in her future and how ever long she's going to keep this act up.
I also read something on a website about PCOS, which concerns me that she may or may not have. . .Gender confusion maybe?
EDIT: More-so a rant than a secret.
Sounds like she's not comfortable in her own skin. I wouldn't leap to conclusions because gender is a hard subject to deal with - maybe she just likes boyish looks. But maybe "She" is actually a "He" in her (his?) head. I will say that I know at least one trans-gendered person already - and it's hard for them. Very, very hard. If (s?)he really is in the wrong gender body, try to be supportive. (And if they just like the look - no real problem with that either, is there?) I can understand what you're saying, yes. But perhaps the fact that she doesn't admit to us bothers us and makes us feel unsure in what she is trying to convey and portray,
