:::patting Alex on the back:::
Well, Maggie...
:::Cora offers her consolation:::
Johannes might be correct... you perhaps haven't experienced as much history as he or I, but it becomes blatantly obvious that organized religion was nothing more than men controling men. God was hardly in it at all...
:::She would sip, but she didn't wish for anyone to interject before she finished her thought:::
We're all here, aren't we? Regaurdless of our religion, or lack there of.

*Maggie looks over to Cora in surprise, then to Alex, to Van der Mullen, then back to Cora, her frown deepening*
Nay . . . there is so much more te religion, te faith than that. Whate'er mistakes men may have made in it . . . doesna mean God isna with us. Whate'er time we are from. . . 'tis what holds e'erything tegether. God carries us all, always. *her voice is soft but full of conviction*

*Alex shakes his head*
Yeah. God's with us. Last I remember, he sent his goon squad out to kill me and my mother and sister.

I... I'm not sure you understand what I mean really. I'm not saying God isn't with us. It's rather obvious I think since we are here. But God and religion are entirely seperate.
Take me as an example. I came from a place where people believe that God is an impossibility, let alone an improbability. There is no such thing as religion at all where I am from. But here I am, in a realm entirely impossible without the existance of forces stronger than our earthly rules. I've never had religion, but there is obviously a God.
Like you said, the mistakes of men... that is what religion is. It is entirely seperate from God.

Cora... you can't be serious... to believe that god exists....

Alex . . . *Maggie shakes her head, pained for him* 'Twas the Seraphim's doing. He came after me and my son as well. 'Twas none of God's doing . ..
*she chews her lip thoughtfully at Cora's argument* Perhaps people may have made some mistakes in religion, but it canna be entirely seperate from God. There is good in it too, strength in it.

Mm... I didn't used to Johannes... but YOU haven't met the Seraphim yet, have you? :::more of a statement than a question::: You haven't had the conciousness kicked out of you.
:::She pauses to consider Maggie about the Seraphim::: Hm... that might be true. Perhaps the Seraphim isn't in league with God. The Captain isn't anymore either, I don't think. But I implore you to understand. I am entirely without religion. Does that mean that am entirely without God too? I mean, if God exists regaurdless, then it's obvious God is not dependant of it.

I think that with the exception of the good Doctor, we all know that God does exist. The simple point Cora is trying to make is that perhaps its not God which is bad, but the human interpretation of his actions that result in the creation of religions that are mistaken.

*Maggie shakes her head emphatically* Oh Cora, I ne'er meant te imply ye were without God. I dinna believe anyone e'er truly is. I only . ..
*She sighs inwardly as Van der Mullen vanishes and rubs at her temple, then looks back to Cora and to Alex as well* I dinna believe all religion can be bad, whate'er mistakes have been made . . . it has done good for people as well. It canna be only a bad thing, te share ye're faith with others
