Man, I got a look at the SSFIV strat guide today. Im mostly pleased that Makoto's game remains unchanged from a guessing game of when you are and aren't going to command grab, but it seems that Ultra 1 really is the far better Ultra now. It's way more easily comboed into, and like every combo into it can throw in the Super right before it to increase it's damage by 20%.
Ultra 2 still works as a great fireball punish, but the only decent combo out of it seems to be jump cancel>MK Tsurugi>EX Hayate. The book didnt even mention any Fukiage combos out of it.

I knew she was going to be ok when I saw how much damage a combo into Super cancel intro Ultra 1 did.

Yeah, like I said, just Grab>Super>Ultra looks like ~70% damage. Super easy to do.
Sure is boring, though. It was more fun when you could dash cancel two fukiages into a Hayate.

Well, it's going to be nice seeing combo videos with Ultra 2. I'm sure people will eventually come up with s**t.

STOP THAT. Yeah, Ill play her regardless. Seichusen Godanzuki was always one of my favorite Super Arts despite never using it in 3S for it's huge bar, yet low damage and techy-ness, anyway. It's nice to see it make a comeback. At least, if anything, Ill like BOTH of her Ultra options, which is more than I can say for alotta characters' Ive seen. EDIT: Do you need my screen name or my email/b.net info? I forgot. I only added one friend.

I'm pretty sure the only reason SA1 was weak is because of then lack of meter.

C. Fox I'm pretty sure the only reason SA1 was weak is because of then lack of meter. It was a longer bar, single stock, that had a lot of poke-into combo options, but if comboed at all didn't do such good damage for the size of the bar. Ultra 2 had a short a** bar with two stocks with multiple follow up options that did ridiculous damage and stun. I think just grab>HP>SA2>fukiage x2 would stun Ryu from an empty stun gauge. Matsumoto, "FatSteves". EDIT: Wait it looks like it... deleted that profile with the most recent patch? It had me create a new "character", but my friend's list remained intact.

So basically comboing into SA1 didn't do as much damage as it should? I thought it always did good damage.
Although I do agree it's not enough damage for one large bar. Like, it ain't worth it lol.
