How do you find out you've been selected for that?

As far as I know one way was to go to Blizzcon and get a code that way.
The second was probably random selection.
The third, the way I got mine, was preordering it at GameStop. If you do it online your order is instantly non-refundable, but you can pre-order it in store and it prints out on the receipt. So if you wanted to you can just immediately cancel your reservation. I think today is the first day they've started doing that.

Also, nothing says "Blizzard" these days quite like updates.
Long, annoying, unyielding incremental updates. Sooner or later I might actually be able to play the beta.
