Terryn chuckled. "It will give us an excuse to stay here longer." She looked up at him with a smile before shutting her eyes again. "Come now, let us get ourselves to bed."

Marcus nodded, prying Terryn off of him and standing up. "I feel like this should be ceremonial. Our first night in our six-month home. Fetch some candles," he told Terryn, getting his nightclothes and disappearing momentarily.

Terryn raised an eyebrow but shrugged and went to fulfill his request. She returned a few moments later with two white taper candles, which she placed on the nightstand while she grabbed her nightgown and changed quickly.

Marcus took some matches ("Matches, sir? Not meaning to be impudent, sir...") and lit them both, blowing out the candle on the desk and getting into bed. "We should be left in the dark on our first night here," explained Marcus. The room was fairly well lit, but it was a gentle, flickering light.

Terryn climbed into bed next to him, which was most definitely still an unfamiliar experience. "Do not tell me you are afraid of the dark."

Marcus grinned. "I am afraid of you in the dark. Burning down my manor. Who knows what other evils you plan to carry out?" he asked, lying on his side and looking lazily at Terryn.

Terryn winked at him, shifting closer and nuzzling into his chest. "As well you should be. You may not know this, but at night I transform into a pyromaniacal vampire."

Marcus closed his eyes, feeling particularly relaxed. "Oh, I guessed as much. Do take your explosions outside if you feel the urge," he told her, slipping an arm around her.

"Sure thing. May I burn our host at the stake as well?" Terryn situated herself in his grip, shutting her own eyes.

"Oh, you needn't ask about that. But again, take care to do it out of doors," Marcus reminded her, smiling and kissing Terryn's eyelids before shutting his own again. "We don't want too many questions."

"Nobody would miss him, so there will be no questions in that regards." Terryn chuckled and yawned, feeling all her energy drain. "Goodnight, Marcus."

"Goodnight," he replied, exhaling and feeling himself drift off to sleep.

Terryn woke up the next morning feeling unusually safe. She blinked her eyes open and looked up at Marcus's face, a subconscious smile coming to her face as she remembered last night's sleeping agreement. She leaned into him, shutting her eyes again for some last minute rest.

When Marcus awoke (earlier than he usually did), the first thing he saw was Terryn. It wasn't a bad way to wake up. The candles had shrunk to puddles of white wax, and Marcus nudged Terryn lightly, trying to determine whether or not she was awake.

Terryn sighed quietly, the way one does when being roused from semi-sleep. She opened her eyes again with a smalll yawn. "Morning."
