"I do not know if I'll be needing one fore myself." She smiled. "Sharing it with you on occasion will be more than a treat for me." Then a laugh. "Human children down here seem to be like that, full of hope and wisdom more so than most adults. Bode is like that as well."

She picked at her black dress. "I think, though I have lived in seclusion for most of my life, that I have grown used to the commings and goings of other people. My new home will be full of activity. If I am lucky, this activity will help Honoursfield's economy. For once I'll be an asset for my community, instead of the barer of bad news."

"Stop being charitable with me. Be a little selfish Meilikki, it won't do you any harm if done in moderation. You could use some things that are you own...besides, once you've seen a starry night sky, the sight is hard to turn your eyes from." Piper knew that one by personal standards. But then a little nod. "Children have greater spirits than most of us...and the lucky ones retain that spirit into thier adult lives. They're sharper than they seem. I call it a survival tactic down here." Giving a little chuckle and then looking out the window once more to try and pinpoint thier location. "Good, being around others is quite worthwile...you'll at least never be bored what with the antics that can go on. And the news isn't always bad Meilikki. Bad is merely a perception..."

She laughed, "Very well, Piper. I will do as you say." Sometimes, it felt good to take orders instead of having to make decisions. She too peaked out the window. "We are nearing Honoursfeild, I would imagine."

"Then my perception has been bad, and will need to be remedied. I will need to re-asses the person I am anyway, changes are needed. Good changes." Said before Piper could protest.

A little nod at informing, for hell if Piper knew where the place was at all, she merely knew a little from information gathered in Serino's own wanderings. Speaking of horses she had to make sure to attend to those guys soon before they thought that they were the boss. But her attention turned to Meilikki with a raised eyebrow before she laughed. "As I always say, things change. And some things do need to change...though good changes are always the most welcomed." A little pause. "So where will you be staying?"

"I have been informed that thus far it is the biggest building in town, and will be difficult to miss." She shrugged. "Of course, I haven't seen it, but it's big enough to employ many people, and for Roarke to open an Academy inside it."

"So much fuss over me."
PostPosted: Tue Aug 22, 2006 7:21 pm

"I guess it would be hard to miss an overly large building, with an inate magical aura about it since there will be plenty a student in it. I'm sure I'll remember and be able to find my way back." But a little shrug from her. "Enjoy it. You know, I kind of think the same way...like when Malik spoils me. After a while, it's just something you learn to enjoy in moderation. But don't be too modest dear Meilikki."

"Can't help it." She smiled. "The attention will take a long time to get used to."

Honoursfeild was now insite ahead of them and swiftly growing. The evidence of construction was abundant, perhaps even rampent across the place. It did not seem as if a single soul was sitting still today, everyone was helping out with the town. Although, this construction had been difficult and delayed, what with the current weather and geographical problems.

Jinn Djinn Covertly watched the procession entre the city, not caring in the least. He had been recruited by Trem Bowl to assist with a certain project that a local well to do had going on in the heart of the reconstruction. Deep Gnomes were apt at mechanics and stone masonry, but lacked some of the wood workings skills that the other races demonstrated. The old saying in the rubble that was now Emarldstone was "A Gnome is to Rocks as life is to Air." Or at least, that was the translation. Some things are lost in translation.

Trem worked his little hands feverishly over his project, loving each and every moment of it. His heart beat with the fluidity of a well travelled stream, and his brow showed the beads of hard work and labour.

The two gnomes could complete the project within a few hours, had the rascal been more willing to work. Jinn seemed to have evaded alot of work on the ships he served, and promptly evaded work here too. Thus, Mr. Bowl had to work on his own, which caused a massive delay in the project schedule. Most of the time, he was not even aware that his companion was missing.

((Breaking up a long post))

Jiscal sat behind his desk, druming his fingers as the long winded drow continually spoke about things that had little concern for him. Triel sounded like an interesting place, the way that the warring factions simply traded weapons and soldiers until the lines had been draw that would allow the cities to opperate within an acceptable perameter. It was like a continual movement of strategic equipment and little fighting beyond the initial slaughter of the former leaders.

Drow matrons murdered by daughters, sons, guards, slaves, practically anyone who held a grudge, and in some cases, each other. It was as though the only result of the death of their god was the exchange of power within families, and some changes in the overall ranking of each family. It was probably the least blood coup de grace that Jiscal had ever heard about, probably from the most bloody of any race he had the pleasure of knowing. Most of the names blended together, as most drow or elvish names do after such a long and continuous string of them. He noted that many of the elves had the same first name. Breza of Debaeron was killed by Breza of N'ahsin.

Many trends like that continued until the Mages guild, always simplified as the mages/losers guild, came into the spotlight. It seems that General Jarlaxle was given quite the sweet deal with those males, and earned himself a rather comfortable living in Arcana Triel.

The real question was why this drow feels that it is necessary to keep Jiscal up-to-date on foreign affairs in a place that was over three thousand miles away (do to rock formations, river routs and other natural obstructions). "Why are you telling me this?"

"Because we have to believe that Malik will take the information from you."

"Oh." The king drumed his fingers again, "Why don't you just tell him?"

"I don't know."

Sstrl swam silently towards the vessal. The calm water and lack of wind prevented the sailing ship from moving. The sailors were taking turns cleaning the vessal, removing scraps of dirt and rocks which fell cassually onto the ship from the upper reaches of the river cavrens. They had several eyes watching the deep, looking for signs of food or trouble. They could barely keep themselves from deficating in their pants when the lizardfolk leaped from the water, into the clear view of the watch, and onto the deck. Most of these men were new to the job, never once setting sail beyond view of their humble port, but none of the experts or well travelled men could tell what the creature was either. They paniced, drawing weapons and trying to react to the presence. But, alas, they were much too slow to bring up any cheritable defence.

Sstrl did not land near any of the sailors, and did not intend to hit anyone with his opening attack anyway. He leaped straight up, and flipped foraward unleashing a hail of small darts, most of which were vaguely shaped like four pointed stars. The iron weapons pelted the un-armoured flesh with a stunning efficiency, laying a fair number of the crew down low with subtle but serious injuries.

A volley was ordered upon him by the ranking officers, who fell into the trap rather quickly. Sstrl had intended to only kill the officers, and leave the majority of the crew to lick their wounds without a head or a heel. Landing on his strong legs, the lizard turned towards the scattered and paniced men, and watched for a brief second. He remained still long enough to grasp the strengths of these people, and where the weapons were. A leap took him onto the shoulders of a commanding officer, and a second towards the armory were many of the men were now rushing to gain arms. He casually waited by the entrance and allowed them to rush past him in both directions until the crew noticed he had indeed been standing their for a whole minute without striking at them. The nearest sailor could not shout as his head snaped backwards, allowing the sailor's neck to make a very loud cracking noise. The lifeless body dropped to the deck, and the sailors retreated as fast as they could.

Javilins and spears seemed to be the most common weapon, caped with copper heads. Sstrl recieved very few injuries, and those were not that serious. His scales combined with his training to make him a rather difficult target. One in twenty strikes landed, and most did not much more than break the weapon. Several minutes passed, and the captain of the vessal seemed to be absent from the frey. Sstrl felt his tail wrap around the waste of a sailor, and flick him into te depths. A silence followed that man's screams into the deep, bringing the lizard folk to realize that he had killed the whole of the crew. It seems that many of the injured thought that the sea held a less horrible fate than the monster, and flung themselves in. Maybe a few of the men who took hits from his fists were still alive, but they were most certainly not moving, which was bad. Sstrl had been ordered to cause panic, not massacure the men. He felt frustrated and punched the panneling by the cabin, causing the wood to splinter like droplets of water.

On the other side the lizard folk spoted what remained of the captain, who took his own life with a copper dagger or sword. Sstrl couldn't tell.

He looked around, and went below deck were he found the hold full of useless base metals and copper. He shoke his head, and punched the frame of the boat until it began to quake under the stress of the haul. In a few minutes, the ship would sink.

Sstrl returned above deck, and leaped into the water to report this incident to his captain.

Piper gave a giggle that couldn't be helped. "Oh I'm sure you'll get used to it quicker than you may think." Though seemed thier destination had been reached and soon enough, she was helping Meilikki out of the carriage and walking her inside what would be her new residence, the elf committing things to memory so she could find her way back. But once Meilikki was settled, it was time for goodbyes wasn't it? "Well...I've never been fond of goodbyes, too permanent. So we'll have to settle with a farewell until next we meet my friend. Remember, if you need me, don't hesitate to call on me. Be if for what I am indebted to you for, or if you just need a friend, I'm your elf." Giving the woman a hug, and then a wave she made her own way out to let Meilikki familiarize herself with the place. And Serino was right there waiting for her, and Piper quickly mounted up, heading back home.

Of course a day passed before Piper was coming home. and Malik at present was, probably according to the other, torturing Arthur. Sevilin hadn't come to collect him yet, so he woudl assume that the koada's lessons woudl come after Zahara's. And right now was probably the seventy fifth fight of the morning, Arthur and his new bladed sword against another team, creature, or single gladiator. and he woudl keep it up until either the surface elf collapsed, or until he actually handled himself to the drow's liking...who was presently watching from the arena stands with his feet propped up and eatting grapes.

"How long have you had this new project?" Asked of course as she came up behind him, dropping her hands to his shoulders, rubbing lightly as well as watching a little at what was going on too. A few hours of reverie found her fine and she never stayed still for long so here she was. Arthur's well being? Well she didn't care to feel any sort of sympathy for him right now...after all, she hadn't really seen him since that little incident they had had and really didn't know how she felt about him right now. At least she wasn't constantly brushing her hair over her ear. Nope, Andal had gave her a little more of a hold on that issue.

Sevilin was indeed sitting at the desk in Zahara's room, just merely waiting for her to come out of her blacked out reverie. After all, it was highly disturbing and disorienting coming out of one of those for the first time and it was best if he was there to soothe the turmoil that came with forcibly blocking out the memories.

"One day."

Tilting his head back to look at her, and offering her a grape.

"So far, he's looking hopeless. It'll take awhile before he even gets in a decent condition for my taste. If he's going to be here, I'm not going to have such an embarassment in my house."

Of course that grape was plucked from his grasp, making sure her teeth grazed his fingertips lightly just because before she gave one of those involuntary giggles, still working his shoulders. She was all affectionate today obviously. "Well I suppose I have nothing against this one...kind of fun to watch." Triple colored eyes still looking ahead a moment before they dropped down to his own as he was lookng back and up at her. "And it's a lot more tasteful and what not that what you usually want to do...yes I do believe you can keep him." Another giggle to follow up.
