It really depends on what you want to do. You should look at the innate buffs and clan effect, don't worry bout the technique itself because you can always make a new one for yourself using a different element and what not.

Look for w/e effect and buff works best with the type of character you run. Sai is an assassin so Mizu, which has a beautiful stealth type effect, and Uchiha, which has a buff to dodging, were the perfect bloodlines for him.

A tracker might want to have Hyuuga and Inuzaka for their innate buffs. Just depends on how you want/like to fight o-o

Innate... Think like a permanent OOC effect on your character, each one is different for each clan. Futton/Youton gives you 3 elements, Mizu gives +50 to Accuracy for Ice Techniques, Uchiha gives +50 Dodge, Kaguya +300 to Impact Criticals, etc. These buffs do not count to your Rule of 1(No more 3 DX ).

So... A Tank. Well then you might want: Akimichi(For their huge resistance to being crit[Makes it hard for people to seriously harm you/ko you/kill you] AND their effect gives you more accurate attacks), Fuuma(You can crit people easier), Kaguya(Super Hard to Impact Critical You, and you can spend chakra to use Taijutsu instead of Fatigue)...

Since you were kage in the other guild, you can start as any rank you choose.

If you don't use Taijutsu, I dont see much reason for Kaguya save for the buff to impact criticals... but when people see you they will just avoid using impact jutsu o-o
