Who says that I must escape humanity entirely? If humans were not successful in having greater and lesser degrees of various things, we would either all be the same person in different bodies...or ridiculously similar. In my opinion, sins must be defined objectively in order to get anywhere. Life would seem rather pointless to me if it is no more than life. If there is no such thing as deviating from human nature with any degree of success, I don't know why I try doing anything. Yes, humans fall, which is why I must eliminate that part of humanity. There are some exceptional humans who have already, in my mind, proven that human nature can be partially put off for a greater degree of success. I have already fallen in some cases. Is it wisdom to ignore that? I do learn from my falls, and from those of the entire human race. Elias, you say that I will fail...and perhaps I will. But even if I do, it is no loss. If I walk done this path to find a dead end, I will merely have made a human mistake, and my only option will be to live as others do.
Also, before you start thinking of ambition as a bad thing, be reminded that you do not know what exactly I am referring to. My 'ambition' is a form of self-perfection. I'm not into conquering Persia and naming every other city after myself.

YAY! I win the smart cookie for the day. blaugh But I do have to say this. You can't try and destroy the human part of you because it won't work. You will always be human and then what you end up hating yourself? Self-perfection is boring. It's also a big strain. And then what if you do fail? Is your life worthless then? Does this self-perfection include marriage and kids. No one believes in teh white picket fence anymore but I htink people are just too lazy to work for it. They goet to believing that it's not worth it and they quit. lNno way to live. Live alone...die alone.

No on this I am not argue, you're going to fall, we all fall eventaully, this one fell a long time ago, I still carry the scar on my chest, the badge of my sins, I have accepted my darkness, and don't think myself as naive as to conquer it, in any degree, I simply accept that's it there and understand that to stop it from growing again I must indulge it, ever so often. mark my words Joe, to seek perfection in anything is to now a lonely existence, and there is no greater tragedy that a man who dies alone.

Umm...this one may not want a white picket fence, but I do want a wife and kids, it's not perfect, but I will pay the debts to my own parents by raising my own in the same way, give them a life better that the glorious one I have been blesed with, that is my greatness, to know that I was at least as good as my father.

A noble goal Elias.

(I don't know how many there were...I think the only city that he didn't name after himself, he named after his horse...)
So be it.
Whether I die alone or with another pack of losers who shares my fate...does not matter to me. He who goes alone may find a path that no others before him believed existed. Before you insist that what I wish to do will not 'work', I would wish that you had tried it yourself until you had run into an inevitable conclusion, whereupon you could judge whether or not it was the right path. To be human is to be blind to things outside of the normal scope of human sight. Who knows but that there are other paths of glory out there? Who will know that all humans are bound by the nature which they can so readily defy?
How is it known so early that it does not work...unless you have tried it. There are some who indulge in the strange things of life very much. And some who do it very little. What price do they pay for their nonconformity? If their life pleases them, then how does it not 'work'?

And perhaps, Elias, that you are taking me for a radical. I'll bet that you have some idea of 'sin', whether your consciousness of it would mean taking care of your children, as a good thing, or not. I'll tell you that I have seen, in life and in history, too many miserable failures, crazy people who feel only terror and despair in life, and do not find beauty in human nature, to trust my being to human nature.

For what?
But if it's nothing specific, the stage has been set for as long as humans have been around.

The knight has moved into a vulnerable position, and the king is prepaired to checkmate.

But for some reason, the knight is logically able to defy the rules of the game, since he has the power to exist independently outside of the chessboard. The knight pulls out a sniper rifle and aims at the king. biggrin
