Will you be alive in a hundred years?

So don't be satisfied. Be remembered. Do soemthing good for mankind or something so evil you're remembered. Everyone knows the name Hitler do they not? Everyone knows the name FDR and the King Louis XIV. Good men both of them. But you can't just lock up the human half of you. Life isn't worth living that way. You get hurt so what. YOu move on. Emotions are the key to being human and when you're not human you turn into this thing. IT's not worth it.

I really feel sorry you, Joe this is one is contend, just being another human, full of agonies and pains and joys. Why try to be a machine, when the greatest things in life are imperfect, impure and chaotic? The imperfections are make things beautiful, that scar on her belly, that looks like a tree, or the way she snorts when she laughs, or the way that a single drop of water, will never flow exactly the same way down a hill. This are greatest pleasures in life, without them, you're not reeally licing your simple alive.

I'll be the judge of that. But no, it's not 'being remembered' by future generations that is my point. My point is, that if I live just like the next guy, as human nature dictates, I am doing nothing but following a preset path. Some humans are remembered for more than others, because they are sometimes greater than others. Hitler was not your average Joe. Washington was not your average Joe. Yet the majority of humans are not great or well-known like these people. Therefore, most people will be driven by the same thing to a very similar end. How can I assume that I will automatically become one of these great people? I must act otherwise and oppose human nature if it is taking me in the wrong direction, which it somewhat does. Both Hitler and Washington put off mainstream human nature, to some extent, to become what they were. I am the same way. I'll admit, there are some good things in human nature, but I must focus on them. I don't know, but it seems that most people do not make a conscious effort to put off parts of human nature. There are times, Elias, when I could say that I see the same beauty in chaos and the variability of human nature...but those times pass. There is nothing to feel sorry for; I am just a different animal.

This one may be and naive, but I now for certain, that often which seek greatness loose themselves. Don't seek greatness, for if you are worthy of it, it will find you, who cares in which form greatness appears, this one, will be great, a great man, a great father, a great husband, I don't care if no one remebers my name when I die, I will contend to know that I tried.
