What's the fun in that, then?
I'm pretty good when it comes to drawing, I always have been.
When I was a very young Mr. Crawley I had a friend who I will call for anonymity purposes, "Ham." Every once in a while "Ham" would ask me to draw something for him. A cartoon character. A car. Whatever. For this example let's say car, because this sticks out in my mind the most.
Whenever I drew a car for "Ham" he would accept it gladly and I didn't mind at all doing so. After all, asking me for art meant recognition and appreciation.
Unfortunately when I saw my masterpieces in Ham's possession they looked.. different. He had altered the original artwork of the cars to have rocket boosters and other nonsense he thought was cool onto it.
I was very upset. Not only did I put time and effort into it but clearly he didn't appreciate my art enough to simply leave it as is. I wouldn't have minded if he had simply colored the car because that's a different matter entirely. But he completely altered the finished product of my imagination.
If he didn't like it as it was he should've rejected it and drawn his own car.
Finished artwork is as is. Perfect. You take nothing away and you add nothing to it.

But, I can understand where you're coming from.
Good.
Not saying I have a problem with fanfiction.
But I do have a problem with forcing your own ideas into someone else's work. That's why I always hated Gundam Wing Yaoi fangirls. There was no middle ground with them. As far as they were concerned... everyone and everything was gay.
