I don't feel like hunting one right now, so...
* assumes someone guesses right and says the music is from the old 80s movie Flash Gordon *

Hmm.... If the Royal Navy had Rum rations at one point.... And if the Imps own Kessel.... Does that mean imperial soldiers get their own spice rations? Because that might explain why in the movies they seem a bit....dense.

Check this sith out: The British Royal Navy has had a longstanding tradition to issue a ration of Rum to its servicemen with their meals. What if the Empire, with it's stranglehold on the Spice Trade, did the same thing, giving it's military personel a daily spice Ration?

Spice is addicting though. Rum isn't.

He's right. The Navy had problems with drunk sailors on duty. Its simple enought to say that normal navy and army personel might be addicts.

Paradox:
Suppose you went back in time and killed yourself in the past. Now, since you can't exist afterwards, you can't have gone back in time to kill yourself. So, since you can't have done the deed, you'd be alive. Or would you?

Any interference in the past is already reflected upon teh future. If you went back to kill yourself, you would be unsuccessful.
