*Bard is nevertheless, impressed* It beats buying batteries. X12, we no longer have need of you. You may put yourself on standby.
*he walks over to the table and sets the glasses down*

((X12 moves back over by the box, retracts its head and wheels, and slides the panel back over the screen, and is silent))

:::Cora uncorks the bottle, pouring a glass for herself and for Bard, smiling:::
I haven't seen you in a long bit of time, Bard.

Nor I you. *Bard takes the glass* Thank you.
How are things in the world of Cora?

Hehehe.... :::She chuckles, almost darkly. Just a little out of her character:::
I wouldn't know, Bard... You see, the Captain tells me I live here now.

I haven't been home in months. Nearly half a year now.

Well... What have you been doing with yourself all this time?

*Bard can't help but think that sounds awfully lonely. But, if Cora is no longer tied to her time... then perhaps*
Do you know why you can't go back to your time?

:::She sets down her glass so she can fidged with its neck:::
Well... It was a bit confusing as the Captain explained it. He said that if I had stayed there, I would have become something terrible. No. Wait, he said that I HAD become something terrible. But that didn't make sense to me....
He said something about multiple realities, and that he pulled me from my time and made it so I couldn't go back. But then my time became unstable without me, or something along those lines, and merged with another reality. It's really a very abstract concept.
:::She frowned, but then took up her glass to sip again:::

Well, X12 might be perfect for you then. Maybe you could teach it how to play chess... *As he says this, he fades out, leaving his book and reading glasses on the table*
