Draeken stumbled out of the portal and into the main room of the large building, though, the size of the building was something he couldnt possibly know. Coming from the portal, he just about fell on his face, but was able to catch his balance before he fell. He looked around with a very confused look on his face. Cautiously he began to walk away from the portal. He had been told that the portal would take him to a new and more tolerant place, but he still had no idea whether it was true. So as he walked forward, confused and cautious, he kept his hands on the hitl of a daikatana that was attatched to his belt at his left hip.

Omni giggled. He had lost the idiotic guard! As he turned the corridor just to make sure that he really lost the guard, he misses the 'wet floor' sign, trips, and skids on the floor uncontrollably. He doesn't scream, but he is terribly surprised and is spinning.
Unfortunately for Omni, he is being flung right towards Draeken who had just entered the intersection.

The man careening towards him was utterly unexpected and knocked Draeken's feet from under him. For a moment he looked surprised, but that quickly turned to anger as he hit the floor and made a rather ungraceful scramble to get back to his feet. "Blood and ashes watch where you're goin!"

OOC: D, I would like to comment about your avi. I think I heard this from a movie and I quote, "Don't you go turning your back on me, boy!"
BIC:
"Sorry, mister." A small voice squeaked his unusal position on the floor. Draeken wouldn't see a man, but a little boy about 5 years old. Omni slowly got to his feet and looked at the tall figure (assuming this D is the same height as D in BC) known as D and put on his best guilty face.
"I was running from the guard and I didn't see the wet floor sign and I trip and I hurt my head when I crashed into you and it hurts and I'm sorry, mister," Omni said with his hand behind his back and his eyes turned to the ground. "You have hard legs, mister."
Going along with his act he looked away from Draeken since he didn't want to look into a pair of angry eyes and noticed where he was. His fashion completely changed into pure childish excitement. "Oh, oh, oh! Mister, mister, mister! Have you seen Queen Kaiori? Is she real pretty? Everybody saids she's real pretty! Is she, is she is she?"

Draeken could do nothing but blink at the child. The kid was a motor mouth and was seeming to hide something, but he would let it slide for the moment. He was new here. Best not to get too involved in something he might not understand. "The Queen? No. I havent seen her yet, though if I do, I should hope she is pretty." He put on a bit of a grin and ruffled the kids hair.

Nodding, Draeken looked around again. "I had heard of this place for so long. I am joyful that I have finaly found it." He continued looking around for a moment, but eventually brought his eyes back to the kid in front of him. "So...Now that I am here...Where do I go? What do I do?"

*Kaiori glides into where she heard voices. Tipping her crown back slightly she smiles softly.* Good day, I didn't think I had visitors, I'm horribly sorry. *She dips her head but straightens and squares her shoulders. Her hair today it long and black for her normal appearance. Her long eyelashes cast shadows on her ivory cheeks hiding her ice blue eyes. Dragging behind her in a long trail of white lace that swirls up to the bodice of her dress. Held delicately in one hand is a frozen staff of either glass or ice which glows cooling in the warm light.*

Omni jumped as he herad Kaiori's voice and quickly went around Draeken to hide behind him. He peeked around from behind Draeken to look at Kaiori and gave her a wave with his hand.
"Hi," His voice squeaked out.

Draeken had been about to respond to the kid when Kaiori came into the room. He could do nothing but stare and had to force himself not to lick his lips and fangs. While she did look quite beautiful and delicious, he would have wagered his life that she was the Queen that the kid had mentioned. She was off limits.

*Having to restrain herself from rolling her eyes she pulls on a light smile. Bowing her head she takes a few steps closer.* I'm Kaiori, Lady of this world. Is there anything I can assist you with? *Her icy eyes flicker around from under her lashes, calculating and seeing the normally unseen. The child's aura interested her; it was aged with use and intelligence. Narrowing her eyes skeptically at the child she holds his gaze. Looking back up at the man she awaits an answer.*

Bowing low in respect, Draeken nodded slightly as he rose. "Well..I am newly arrived here and really have no idea of the place...So any help I could get towards learning about this place and how I should go about starting a new life here would be nice, I guess." He looked slightly nervous, but that didnt carry into his voice. Too much. He held himself well, though, in front of authority as if at one point in his life he had been around it constantly. He also looked to carry himself in the manner that said he knew how to fight if need be.

*Grinning slightly she grabs his arm.* Well then, lets get that going for you! So what did you do back in the other world? It might help you decide what you want to do here. *She continues to chatter while tugging him down the hall. Her dress trails behind her and her voice is warm and kind.* You can stay in any one of our guests room or choose to get a house, the people who usually stay in the palace also get jobs here. *She claps and a guard hands her a pamphlet.* Here this will explain ranks and a few other details.

Draeken blinked as he was suddenly being whisked down a hallway. "Well...Honestly...What I have done for the last couple years or so was run away from hunters. Killed a good many of them, though. Self defense of course, M'Lady." He blinked at the mention of getting a room in the palace and perhaps working there as well and looked confused as he was handed the pamphlet. It was all a bit much, but he would adjust quick enough. "Ranks? You wouldnt honestly consider me for some form of Rank would you? I just got here!" He seemd slightly overwhelmed by it all, really.
