Pancham had been following Selene and Sly with Po, listening to the tamed Pokémon tell him all about his adventure with Selene and Sly. The wild Pancham was still following them, but was getting bored now that Po had rejoined Selene on Amalthea.Hehehe, I've got a fun idea!He thought to himself. He positioned himself in a thicket of tall grass, then jumped out right in front of the Galarian Rapidash using his Parting Shot move to shout "PANCHAM PAN CHAM PAN PANPAN PANCHAM!" ("BEWARE THE CURSE OF TAPU FINI!") Then he immediately ran back into the grass, snickering to himself.

Amalthea wasn't expecting that pancham to come out yelling in front of her like it did. She reared up, due to the surprise and threw Selene off her back by accident. Then she began galloping towards the village until Po pulled on the rein to get her to stop.
Po was not happy with the other pancham at the moment after what he pulled. Selene was thrown of and Panchame barely had time to grab the rein before he could go flying of Amalthea as well. He pulled on the rein hard to try to get the rapidash to stop. It worked and they were at the edge of the village now. "Pancham! Pan cham pancham."(Let's go back to them!) He told the rapidash and they turned around to go back to Selene and Sly.
"What the Arceus?!?!? " Selene let out with a shocked expression on her face at what was happening now. The fact that Amalthea threw her wasn't a surprised to the other Pancham surprising her as well. She was falling now and there wasn't much she could do until she landed on the ground.' Will he catch me or let me fall?' She wondered before closing her eyes, wondering what new injuries she was going to have soon....

"NATURE'S MADNESS!" Merrimack cried as Selene went flying off of Amalthea. Sly moved as quickly as he could and caught Selene in his arms. "Are you okay?" he asked.

Pancham stopped snickering when he saw Selene thrown from Amalthea, he hadn't expected the Rapidash to react so violently. He was glad Sly had caught Selene so she wasn't hurt anymore than she already was. This certainly was an interesting human.

Selene waiting to feel the ground beneath her but it never came. Then she heard Sly asking her if she was alright. She opened her eyes to see that he was holding her in his arms and that they were not on the ground. "I think so, at a least we're not on the ground like before right?" She chuckled slightly as she was grateful that he caught her before hitting the ground. Her face was flushed due to the fever piking up again. Selene shivered slightly due to the fever.' Not anything what I imagine our reunion was going to be like, that's for sure... ' She thought to herself as she snuggled into him as he continued to hold her in his arms like this.
Once Amalthea and Po got back to Sly and Selen, Po went after the other Pancham. "PANCHAM!!!!!! Pancham! Pancham pan cham!?!?"(What were you thinking?!?!?) Po yelled at the other Pancham. He was sorely tempted to beat up this pancham that brought more stress to the two humans he loved.....

"Yeah." Merrimack answered Selene's comment about not being on the ground. He was going to remark about her being thrown by another of her Pokémon, but the way she shivered and snuggled into him made her look so small and frail, the only thing he could focus on was getting her to that doctor. "The Pokémon Center isn't much farther now." He said, carrying her towards the village. Guess I'm going into town after all. He thought to himself.

"Pan Pancham Cham." "(It was a joke.)" The wild Pancham replied to Po. "(That Rapidash wasn't supposed to take off like it did. She faced a Bisharp armed with Guillotine, I never would have guessed a little Parting Shot would scare her so bad.)"

"Yes and no. Some of the Trail Captains will have you find something or help out with a local issue before you fight the totem pokemon for that trail. Some may may straight out battle you, it's up to each Trial Captain on what they see fit. Then you face the Kahuna for your grand trail as long you passed the others trails from before.You start the challenge on Melemele Island. Now this tradition of the Alolan challenge was originally only for the natives of Alola as the tradition was long before the more modern gym challenges that we have in other regions that you can start at most anytime. It still is a rite of passage of beginning trainers to start their journey here, whether or not they are from Alola or not. Adults are not allowed to do the island challenge as it was meant for the younger generations."Kahiau told the teenager, now realizing that the male hadn't given him at name yet.
" What's your name? I will have to talk to the other Kahunas before giving you a yes or no on doing the island challenge, considering that you are already fifth-teen years old. " He told told him before seeing the teenager get down to play with Rockruff. He chuckled at his reaction to the rock type pokemon." This is Rockruff, a rock type pokemon. If he lets you to pet him, then do so." He said as the Rockruff sniffed the boy's hand and went closer to him. Then he let out a playful bark and licked the kid's hand. " He likes you, so feel free to pet him now, " he said with a smile before hearing another pokemon father away.
This time he, looked around for the source before he heard a familiar voice yelling out. "Selene Moana, " he began as his eye saw her rapidash running off after throwing Selene off her back. Thankfully there was someone there to catch her so she wouldn't land on the ground. Even though that they were at a distance from them, he knew without a doubt who was now holding his sister... "Distortion world, what is he doing here?!?" He meant to say under his breath but came out louder than he meant too.
"That sounds like fun!" Dan was not much into battling, but he begun to daydream about doing other fun things with his Pokemon during these trials. His blue eyes had gone distant but settled back on Kahiau when he spoke again. "Dan. Yes, please ask them!" He did not think fifteen was so old, but it did not bother him to be 'unusually' old for whatever the challenges were.
His focus was on Rockruff now. "Hi Rockruff! I like your fur." He ran his hand down the Pokemon's head and back, and then scratched him on the neck. He was distracted when there was a shout, then a name uttered by Kahiau, then an exclamation from him. Dan looked up to see a man carrying a woman, and there was a Pancham riding on a Rapidash. From what Kahiau had said, it seemed like the Kahuna was displeased by the appearance of that man. He did look a little big and scary. Dan watched them and wondered if there was going to be trouble.
Lickitung had continued to hide behind Dan this entire time, although was less hidden when his trainer got down on the ground to pet Rockruff. Lickitung stared nervously at the newcomers onto the scene. His eyes lingered on the 'big scary man' before then going to the woman in his arms. "She looks hurt," he commented.
Pidgeot had continued to circle above the pair and she saw the Rapidash spook and throw its rider, but the rider was caught by her companion before coming to harm and the Rapidash was stopped by the Pancham, so there was no need for Pidgeot to lend her assistance. The group had now come upon where Dan was talking to Kahiau, so Pidgeot dove down and alighted beside Jolteon. He was still behind the bush. They traded looks and then watched the scene before them.

'This is sweet torture, being in his arms like this. Knowing that we won't see each other after.. I feel like I'm at home in his arms and I don't want this time together to end... Yet, I doubt he feels the same about me. If my wrist wasn't already injured, I could see him dropping me to the ground right now. Just enjoy this time, don't fret about the other now.'She thought to to herself as she relaxed against his body. Selene shivered again and nestled into him, enjoying the warmth that his body was giving her. Taking a deep breath, she took in his scent and committed to her memory.
"Alright," she began before realizing that Po and Amalthea weren't following them. "Come on Po and Amalthea, time to return. I know y'all want to let out your frustrations at him, but it's in the past now and things are okay. Come please," she said with a slight commanding tone at the end. A sigh escaped her lips as she closed her eyes for a bit before the pokemon returned to their poke balls.
The two pokemon weren't pleased to go back before letting more of their frustion out at the wild Pancham but didn't want to cause more trouble for Selene."Pan pan pancham! Cham pan pancham cham. (It's one thing when one is in battle. But it's a whole other thing when being surprised out the blue like that.)"Po said back to the wild Pancham before both Po and Amalthea returned to their poke balls at Selene's request.

Pancham listened to what Po said and...didn't understand at all...Must be a trained Pokémon thing.Being a wild Pokémon, jumping out of grass at people was a normal activity for this Pancham, although in an area as remote as The Vast Poni Canyon, he didn't get to do it all that often.Maybe I should have used Body Slam instead of Parting Shot.He thought as he headed back into the wilds.

Dreadnought Sly Merrimack

"Alright, here we are." Merrimack said as he stepped onto the wooden planks of the marina that made up The Seafolk Village. I hope I don't run into anyone else I used to know. He thought, not knowing he'd already been spotted by Kahiau. The Pokémon Center was the first building they came to and the only one that wasn't a boat. Walking through the door, Merrimack called out: "Where's the doctor? This girl's hurt!"

"Yes, the island challenge is fun but also not to be taken lightly. Not everyone who starts it finishes it."Kahiau said as he remember the other two boys that were trying to impress his sister back then. They didn't get past the fire trail due to using only grass pokemon....
Then Kahiau pulled out a notepad and pen out and handed to Dan. " Dan, if you would put down your full name and a phone number that I can reach you at? Some days, I'm lucky to get a hold of one of the other kahunas. So I'll need some way to contact you later on about doing the island challenge. It might be a few days before I can get back to you on that. " He said looking at Dan and Rockruff. The rock pokemon began rubbing his rocky collar against Dan's arm. He chuckled at that and had a good feeling about the lad with how Rockruff seems to like him so soon.
Then he turned his attention back to Sly and Selene and a frown appeared on his face. 'Should I interfere? I want to ring his neck for hurting Selene back then still. But why is he back now for? For Selene's sake,I hope that he leave soon so she move on with her life without him in it...' He thought as he saw Po and Amalthea got back to their poke balls for now. A frustrated sigh escaped his lips after watch them go into the village..
'She wouldn't want me to do so and I won't this time. But with them going into the village like that, the rumor mills will be flying in no time... Considering how close the two were back then.' He thought before turning his attention back to Dan." Have anymore questions about Alola that I can try to answer for you? " He asked before Goodra came out of her poke ball.
Dr. Horace Zemaitis, was still treating another patient in the back when he heard someone yelling for the doctor.'I hope it's not a major injury or I would have to take her to Akala or Melemele Island to treat whoever it is.' He thought to himself as he finished up with one of the Seafolk men. "Now take it easy for the next few days so the injury can heal."He told the fisherman, knowing that the fellow would only give it few hours before doing some heavy lifting again.
Nurse Joy was about to gave her usual greetings after Sly came into the center but he cut her off, asking about the doctor. She was about to give him a piece of her mind when she realized who was in his arms. "What happened to Ranger Beaumont? Please follow me into the back sir." She asked and said as she lead them into the back, holding the door open for Sly to get by since his hands were full with Selene.
Nurse Joy led the two to the second room that was being used as an examining room. "Please set her on the examining table and take her backpack off for me please. I'll let Dr. Zemaitis know that she's here. I'll be back with a blanket and a few ice packs for the fever and the swollen wrist. " Nurse Joy told Sly before closing the door behind her, leaving the two alone again for now in the examination room.
Selene didn't a chance to tell Sly that he could set her down in one of the chairs so he could head on out. Nurse Joy took over after seeing her weak looking in Sly's arms. "I told her multiple times to call me Selene, not Ranger Beaumont..." She mentioned to Sly as Nurse Joy lead them to the back with a frustrated sigh.
Once Sly had put her on the table, she slid the backpack off before he could try to take it off. "Sylvester, I don't expect you to stay much longer. I'm surprised that you're back here honestly, but Nurse Joy took command when we came in." Selene said, looking up at him while wishing that she was still in his arms. "I know the two of us meeting like we did wasn't planned, but I am pleased that we did so. Even with the craziness that happened.... It gave me some closure to what happened back then, being able to vent at you directly helped some. Then knowing that something had happened to keep you from meeting me back then helped too." She admitted to him before laying down on the examining table. She looked straight up at the ceiling, not knowing what else to say, beside goodbye.... Selene wasn't ready for that but knew it was coming.

Sly listened quietly to what Selene had to say while he sat her on the exam table and removed her backpack, having nothing more to add than "Yeah, me too." Now it was time to go. Merrimack had things to do and with Selene safely in the Pokémon Center there were no more excuses to stay with her, though he felt like he was being torn in two. Everything in him was pleading to stay but...those red eyes...Selene had already been hurt enough today, the idea of her caught between him and a hoard of Shadow Pokémon sent after him by Team Rocket...he had to go. "Sorry about everything." He said, turning toward the door. As he stepped through it he paused and without looking back added. "Maybe you ought to focus on those Contests for a while. I don't w--it'd be bad if you got hurt anymore, and Pokémon Rangers need to prepare for trouble." Sly closed the door behind him without waiting for her to answer, he couldn't take another argument. Once he was outside again his anger began to overtake him again. All he'd lost since falling in with Team Rocket, and even now - with everything at his finger tips - he couldn't break free of them. And even if I could, she'd never take me back. Not once she learned all I'd done - and she would, eventually.

Dan
"Oh, do they die sometimes?" Dan asked with casual seriousness. Then he broke into a smile. "Just kidding, of course." Well, he had seen his share of weird things in this world, but all official stuff like gym challenges, contests, and island trials were well controlled and safe. No one got killed or maimed doing those. He smiled as Rockruff began to rub its stony neck against his arm, which he assumed was affectionate. He got down on his hands and knees and bowed playfully at the Rockruff like he had seen some canine Pokemon do.
He took the notepad uncertainly but decided he had nothing to lose. He wrote down Dan Tachibana and his phone number. Wait, did he remember to bring his phone this time? Uh, oh yeah, he was pretty sure it was there in his pack, but he had not charged it since leaving home so it was likely dead. He would have to get on that. He handed the pad back to Kahiau. "Cool, thanks!" His eyes then drifted again to the man who was carrying the woman, who Kahiau had reacted to previously. The two did not appear to notice Kahiau and Dan, and they went on into town and were soon out of sight. "Uh, yeah. Who's that guy?" he asked of the man who was now out of sight. He glanced back at Lickitung, who had commented on the girl being hurt. "It's OK, it looks like he's taking her to get help," he told the Pokemon. His eyes then looked to another Pokemon that Kahiau let out. "Oh wow! You're really big!"

Dr. Zemaitis, was finishing cleaning up the room he was in when Nurse Joy came in. "Who's the new patient?"He asked her as he grabbed his bag to take with him to check on the patient in the next room.
Nurse Joy was grabbing the ice packs from the freezer when she heard the doctor ask who the new patient was."Ranger Selene Beaumont and she has a high fever from how flushed her face was. Also I saw her right wrist and it was swollen so I'm assuming the fever she has is due to that. " She said as she pulled a third ice pact out. Then she grabbed a blanket before heading back to the room that Selene was in.
"Selene ?? I'm coming and who was that was yelling for me to tend to her? It wasn't Kahaiu, I know that much." He said as Comfey, Indeedee, and Oranguru followed them to the room where Selene was. 'I hope it wasn't Merrimack..... Considering what pain he has already caused her....' He thought to himself.
"I don't know him personally as it was the first time I saw this guy but judging how they were responding to each other, I would say it was that childhood sweetheart of hers from long ago. Plus the descriptions of him that I heard from the other Seafolk villagers made me think it was the Merrimack." Nurse Joy said back to him as she opened the door to find Selene leaning over the edge of the table, puking.
'Damn... Poor Selene'He thought before seeing the young woman heaving from puking."Selene, we'll get you feeling better soon. I'm going to have to cut your glove and arm protector sleeve off so I can take care of your wrist." Horace said as Comfey was letting out it's aroma to help with treating Selene. Indeedee had taken the ice packs from Nurse Joy and place one on Selene's forhead to help bring the fever down. Oranguru was already cleaning up the puke from earlier. Selene had simply nodded her head in response to him having to cut her glove and arm protector off.
Nurse Joy watched as Horace and his team of pokemon attend to Selene. "Seems like y'all have it under control here so I'll be up front if you need me." Nurse Joy said before leaving them as things were under control here. She went back front to see if anyone else needed help and possibly keep a kahuna from going into the back...
