Nuru kept going down the list, one jutsu at a time. It was time again for more handwork, the next technique called for more switching both in hands and the direction of the blade itself. So that's what she did. Small strands of teal hair stuck to the back of her neck as she began to visibly sweat from the exertion, and a bead of sweat made it's way past blue eyes which blinked it away. When she was done, the dummy was decorated in a fair amount of cuts ranging from nicks to deep lacerations.

Nuru started another barrage of cuts, timing her focus. When she felt like she had enough cuts in, she switched hands, spun the knife to face downwards in her fingers, then tosses it in to the ground. The knife hit at an odd angle, didn't stick, then bounced, nearly hitting Nuru who screeched a horrible sound and stumbled back, falling on to her rear. The gennin stared with wide eyes where the tanto stuck awkwardly in a nearby wall, her chest heaving both from exertion and surprise. "Well that didn't go as expected..." She mumbled, before getting up and trying again. This time she adjusted the trajectory of the knife, and it stuck fine in the floor.

Luckily for her, the previous jutsu would help her with this one. She took several steps back from the dummy, holding her tanto in her hands. She closed her eyes, imagining in her head the path the knife would take. Silence filled the room other than her breathing, which roughly escaped from her nostrils as she tried to control it. Opening her eyes, the gennin channeled her chakra in to her blade and tosses it, fairly hard, at the dummy in front of her. The blade sunk down to the hilt in what would be the dummy's face, letting out a dull Thuuuunnnnggg.

Spar was over! Todoroki appreciated playing with secret friend. The human may smell funny, but at least he was fun. Todoroki would make sure to give the man one of his finest bones. After he recalled where he buried them. Still, the secret friend had a mission for them! Todoroki excitedly left as he expected the twins to follow him.
Joy filled his heart as he was accepted officially into the police corps. His sensei and captain would vanish in a plume of smoke. " An insturment of justice..." he repeated, focusing himself on what lied ahead. He was to continue his training. This would be a long day if he were to complete everything in one go. Diligently, he returned to his training. Learning his next two stages of Bukijutsu training in Shigure Souen.
Moving on, Kojiro would begin working on his secondary bukijutsu, Tetsu no Ryu. An honorable sword style that dealt in maintaining a code. This would appeal to Kojiro as he studied scrolls. He would learn the first few stages of this style. After learning he would reflect diligently.
Not having completed all the second stage of the skills, Kojiro would continue. He would learn swallow cut. After that, he would learn Chakra Scabbard. Then Twin Dragon Strike. Finally, Twin Dragon Lightning. After this, he had mastered the second stage of the Tetsu no Ryu Sword School.
He continued, determined to learn more of his skill sets. Kojiro would learn to manipulate his chakra to different shapes over his blade. Tthen a technique called the Drying Pole. Next would be the pressure wave technique. After completeing this he had performed the third stage.
Finally, he practiced the last stage for now. Stage Four. In this stage he would learn a technique for breaking helments. After this he would move on to the final technique of the day. Two as One. This involved layering the chakra saber with the swords strike. This would add a double strike, impossible to defend two as one. Thus it's name.

There had been a call to action sent throughout the entire village in the past few days. No no no. Not that super serious call to action. It was more like a pressing reminded to all shinobi of rank to report to the kage for missions. While she was plenty busy with just the happenings at the hospital, Kagerou did intend to answer the call sometime today or maybe tomorrow. However, she didn't right now to the be the right time. Besides, she'd probably end up waiting in a line anyways. She had grown up in the ninja lifestyle, and was very familiar with the not as exciting side of it. Administrative processing times and all that.
Instead, Kagerou was here in the dojo fields, happily studying a scroll on several subtle methods of fighting under the cover of smoke and stealth in general. Smiling gently as the wind rustled her hair alongside the leaves of the banyan tree she sat in the shade of, Kagerou was a picture of grace. She quietly meditated upon the contents of the scroll in front of her. The first sign of movement came only at the very end of the scroll, after Kagerou had read everything. It was true that one couldn't simply expect to keep their muscles from rusting by simply reading, and these last few techniques were the ones she had always had the most difficulty with. Smiling gently, Kagerou neatly placed the scrolls to the side and stood up. Her light look around the area, as if she was appreciating the scenery, showed her that she was alone here in the training field.
It all happened in the blink of an eye. Without so much as a change in expression, a billow of smoke erupted into a giant cloud around Kagerou, and from the black depths, six large whirlwinds formed, each big enough to be the entirety of the original cloud, which was the first indicator that five out of the six were merely illusions. From the center of each storm, a Kagerou burst from the concealment and landed a flurry of attacks that could barely be distinguished from each other by sight and... by sound? Well, there wasn't a single sound to be heard, and the show ended as quickly as it began. The attack didn't even last over a second. The copies dispersed. The smoke dissipated. Kagerou stood calmly for a moment and then returned to sit beneath the banyan tree. ___S t a g e T w o [ D ] Endan no Jutsu [ Smoke Bomb Technique ] Rank: D :: Simple Description: One of the major staples of [ Juurai Toorima ]. The user will begin by drawing a smoke pellet from his person. He will then bring the pellet to his hand, typically between the fingers, and then slam it against a solid surface. The pellet will burst into a decent sized smokescreen, during which the ninja will attack or retreat. Provides the user with a mild boost to speed and reflexes while in the cloud.
Aseru [ To Fade ] Rank: D :: Complex Description: The user will bring a smoke pellet to each hand, twirl them to an easily thrown position, and then slam the two against the surface beneath them. As the smokescreen rises, they will perform a hand sign, sending a quick surge of chakra throughout their body. In almost an instant, the user will escape any dangerous situation. To simplify, this is like a substitution jutsu that requires a smokescreen rather than an object to change positions with. Can only be used three times per battle. If the user is already in a smoky area, this technique does not require the use of smoke bombs.
___S t a g e T h r e e [ C ] Kemuri no Shikaku [ Sight through Smoke ] Rank: C :: Training Description: The practitioner grows accustomed to the way smoke flows around them and others. The practitioner's vision is no longer adversely affected by their smoke bombs.
Insen [ Hidden Line ] Rank: C :: Simple Description: The user will attach a very, very thin wire to a projectile or small object, and toss said projectile as if it were a normal tool. However, they will likely intentionally miss, most likely causing the opponent to scoff or laugh. At any moment during the projectile’s flight, the user will give a light tug on the wire, causing its trajectory to change.
Juu Kousen no Hitojichi [ Hostage of Ten Steel Wires ] Rank: C :: Complex Description: The user will throw both of his hands forward, tossing out a net of razor steel wires roughly the same width as the user’s body. The user will pump chakra into the wires in order to cause them to wrap around and tie those within the net’s reach. Has a max range of 20 meters.
Takoage no Waza [ Art of Kite Flying ] Rank: C :: Complex Description: The user will draw a special piece of fabric from their person, placing it between their index and middle fingers. With an infusion of chakra, the fabric will grow in size, becoming the height and width of the original user. After doing so, the user will then grab onto each corner with his hands and feet, outstretching the cloth. Regardless of the user’s weight, this cloth can be used to glide over massive gaps and escape Earthy effects. It should be noted that if the user has Fuuton [ Wind ] elemental chakra, they are able to fly freely using this cloth for three posts. The user can trail smoke bombs behind themselves while using this technique to create a wide blanket of smoke in the sky.
___S t a g e F o u r [ B ] Biransei Endan no Jutsu [ Poisonous Smoke Bomb Technique ] Rank: B :: Simple Description: A different, far more lethal variety of smoke pellet. These smoke pellets release a thick purple cloud that causes various bodily effects if one is to inhale it for long consecutive periods. Can be used with any hazardous material the user has access to. Used to create hazardous bombs during battle, provided the proper materials are present; after creation, any hard impact is enough to detonate these hastily constructed bombs.
Funkei no Jutsu [ Decapitation Technique ] Rank: B :: Simple Description: The user will begin by blurring his current position in any way possible, be it by the use of his smoke pellets, or manipulation of the terrain. He will then follow up by tossing multiple smoke pellets at his opponent in order to disorient them. After this, the user will seemingly disappear, abusing their physical potential to get behind their target. From this position, the user will draw his weapon, and attempt to deliver the final blow. Reduces the target's reflexes greatly.
Zanzou no Jutsu [ Afterimage Technique ] Rank: B :: Complex Description: The user places one or more smoke bombs of any type inside a clone. When the clone bursts, the smoke bomb(s) trigger, flooding the area with smoke. The clone does not have to be the user's, but the user must be able to make contact with it to activate this technique. This technique does not consume an activation when used while creating clones, and effects up to four clones at once. Does not have any effect when used on illusory clones. Affected clones do not look any different when viewed with Doujutsu.
Gisou no Waza [ Art of Camouflage ] Rank: X :: Complex Description: The user will begin by drawing a trio of smoke pellets from his person, and tossing them against the ground. As the smokescreen rises, the user performs a string of handsigns and allows his chakra to lie dormant. The user will then fade away, his chakra signature and his entire being seemingly gone in a poof of smoke. For two posts, the user is undetectable to sensory techniques and visual detection (including Doujutsu) by Shinobi up to this technique's rank while inside the smoke cloud.
___S t a g e F i v e [ A ] Yogiri no Gufuu [ Tornado of the Night Fog ] Rank: X :: Simple Description: The user will release black smoke bombs to surround his position, blurring his starting point. He will then rotate wildly on a single foot, causing the black smokescreen to circle around him in a whirlwind pattern. While wrapped in the twisting smoke and wind, the user will attempt to ram a target, hitting them with their body and any weapons they may have protruding from them. Supremely increases the speed of one physical technique up to its rank.
Izumi Hanshoku Meimu [ Fountain Multiply Illusion ] Rank: A :: Complex Description: The user holds a single handsign, generating focus points all over his body. After doing so, the user is capable of emitting up to six projections of himself from these focus points at any given time. These images are capable of mimicking one non-offensive action from the user, such as dodging or jumping, making them appear to be much more physical than they are. It should also be noted that these images can phase through solid objects. Each image lasts for four posts. Images can be used as vessels for the Afterimage Technique, despite not being physical; however, smoke bombs hidden in the images burst immediately should anything knock them out of their image.
___S t a g e S i x [ S ] Ken kara Ken [ Blade After Blade ] Rank: S :: Complex Description: The user takes his weapon from its holster, holds it close to him, focuses his mind, and then performs a chain of long, yet linked slashes and stabs. In other words, this is a technique that causes the user to enter a free style combination mode, allowing him to execute perfectly connected attack after attack after attack. If an enemy somehow manages to consistently block the user's attacks, the match will typically then be determined by whoever runs out of stamina or makes the first mistake. Moderately increases the speed of all Formless Techniques for three posts, and allows an extra activation if at least two Formless Techniques have been used in a post.
Mokuhi [ Keep Silent ] Rank: S :: Training Description: The ninja has come to realize the fruits of his efforts. His training has finally paid off, and whether he realizes it or not, his footsteps no longer make noise, no matter what surface he walks on. However, running still makes a very, very light patter. Obtained automatically when all techniques are learned.

There now standing in front of her with his brush in hand though bearing the head of a scythe and in a stance showing he had just felled something. How quietly had he slipped into the dojo grounds to go unnoticed? Whose to say. Toso never carried a presence with him and could have been there for who knows how long. Truly though, was that not the purpose of a ninja to be unnoticed. Focused on his task he would continue and avoid eye contact with Kagerou. "Not saying there is anything wrong with seeking solace. One could say I'm doing the same bloop." The scythe swung again, one could say a spin, though the blackness of it showed there to be ink on its edge. This ink fell to the ground and there coalesced a clone of the aforementioned squidman. He'd change his stance twice. Drawing in the scythe and its blade then moving out into a wider stance which would be sooner rather than later. A horizontal slash emitting a small sickle like wave of chakra turned the lower half into a puddle before it touched the ground while a vertical slash followed it up causing the upper half to dissipate. It all happened in a manner so quickly that it was almost as if watching a professional chef fillet a fish or a iaijutsu master only using a scythe as oppose to a sword. The two halves turned into their respective messes but the curious thing about the attack was it carried with it what seemed to be a genuine intent to kill. The inkyclone's halves upon landing on the ground then began to reshape itself, or rather attempt to. This caused Toso's glasses to glint almost menacingly as his back leaned further than one would believe natural before he suddenly propelled forward cutting the thing down violently digging the blade into the ground as though it were being smashed. Before it even the had the chance as the blade wedged into the dirt it would be loosed with a back flip performed to dislodge it as the squid returned to his starting position. This seemed enough for the refresher course he was giving himself. An animosity if not a repulsion to the clone of himself. He'd then affix his attention to Kagerou re-adjusting his glasses but did not say anything before looking to the mess he'd left behind. "Suffice to say, do enjoy yourself." The scythe would then have its bristles retract themselves, the scythe showing to be his trademark brush. Re-affixing it to his back. The man would slowly begin a stride away. Souta quietly sneaked into the dojo ahead of the the others' arrival at the Academy. He planned a bit of training in the more physical arts, ready to get a jump start on what the Academy held him back from. First up on his list was the bread and butter of Taijutsu, the Konohagakure style, made famous by one of the previously powerful ninja villages. Souta settled into learning the first stage of techniques.

The basics of the Konoha style were relatively straightforward, and Souta blew through them with a zealous energy. Now he was into the thick of it, the parts of the style that built on and complicated the core elements of the fighting in the most interesting possible ways. In this case it drastically expanded the number of available techniques for Souta to choose from. The newly minted Genin focused his efforts on the first three techniques, working through each of them until he had a solid grasp of what each asked for.

Souta continued working through the next stage of his first taijutsu style, feeling the strain but only enjoying it. The next set of moves he was focusing on involved a bunch of spinning, and the genin found what he could only have described as the first fighting techniques he actively disliked learning. To be fair, these weren't really meant for learning all at once, and he was pushing his limits. It was still a bit of a slog though.

Wrapping up the second stage of the Konoha style was a bundle of close quarters kicking and kneeing techniques. Perhaps not Souta's favorite style of combat, but one that he needed to get better at, especially having chosen the Konoha style. This was sure to solve that particular deficiency, as it gave the genin a handful of tools for that particular type of combat.

The next stage began with a pair of rather intriguing clone based techniques. He was glad they provided a bit of variety, but unsure of how they would apply at present. They seemed to possibly require too much setup to be as effective as he wanted. But if it did work out, he could see how this set of techniques might provide exceptional utility.

Souta wrapped up his training with the Konoha taijutsu style, learning a couple of rather complex techniques in the process. He subsequently moved on to the next style he'd chosen, Hsing-I Pakua. He dug into the next style with the same fervor which he'd begun his training of the Konohagakure style.

The Hsing-I Pakua style was exceptionally different from the Konoha tai style. In fact, it almost entirely used chakra, at least in this first stage. Honestly, it struck Souta as astounding that a Taijutsu could even do that to begin with, and he found it somewhat revelatory to re-contextualize physical combat as more than just punching and kicking.

Souta moved on from the first series of Hsing-I Pakua to the meat of the style, now that he'd set the foundation. The first couple of actual techniques were simple things, focused more on movement than anything. They'd be useful, but after a taste of the Konoha tai style, Souta was looking for something with a little bit more flash to lean on.

And so the training continued, even Souta was starting to feel the stress of it all. He had to admit he was looking forward to getting to training in some bukijutsu. There was still a bunch of new stuff to get to before he actually finished this training though. Hsin-I Pakua was getting more complex, and the boy was back at a level of satisfying challenge.

And so Souta drew nearer to the end of Hsing-I Pakua, a bittersweet realization as it meant he'd only have the opportunity to train in one more physical thing before the trainers kicked him out. In the case of the style in question, he was mostly working on building an array of different useful techs, so it wasn't terribly interesting. He did, however, enjoy the activity as a baseline.

The Genin finally reached the end of his Taijutsu training with a sigh, and rolled the scrolls he'd borrowed for them up tightly. He'd be back to learn more eventually, but he wanted to avoid anyone getting miffed at him for learning techniques that, if he was being honest, wouldn't even be that useful because of how strenuous they were. Instead he moved on to a rapier style, but produced a Koncerz for its performance instead, practicing with the similar weapon.

Souta continued his training, advancing from the initial stage of this new rapier style into the second. It started with a nifty bit of training that would let him apply elemental effects to his weapon, something the boy always found cool. And rounding out this bit of training was quite a significant speed boost, something Souta wasn't about to turn down.

The next selection of techniques provided Souta with quite a selection of different options for different scenarios. There was a defensive technique, for when people with weapons got a little too close. A jumping attack similar to the Konoha Tai style's Dynamic Entry. Even a quite nasty little close range combo attack.

Souta wrapped up his Bukijutsu with a couple high octane offensive moves, nice additions for when he inevitably found that fists alone wouldn't be enough to deal with a situation. Carefully he rolled the scroll back up, taking a moment to peak a bit further down the list before doing so. Curious as always, he wanted to continue, but now it was time to move on to something else.
Kagerou merely smiled at Toso's sudden appearance. A puzzled smile it was, though, until she connected "puppeteer" with Shadow. She couldn't be faulted for forgetting that Shadow as a puppeteer. Aside from his mechanical arm, she had never really seen him use his puppets and it had been years she had thought about it. Two rapid blinks accompanied that connection between Shadow and puppets, the first when her face expressed realization and the second when she quickly hid that recognition. Not even a second passed between each blink, quick as they were.
To Kagerou's convenience, Toso only briefly mentioned Shadow, to which she was happy to follow suit. "Normally I would train with my family," Kagerou replied as she pulled a kunai out of her sleeve and swung it through some basic motions, training as she spoke just as Toso had done, "but since they do not live in this village, I find it most comfortable to train by myself." As she said that, she threw the kunai, nailing a nearby tree. Soon after, two shuriken and a pebble that Kagerou had picked up from the ground at some point followed suit, each also hitting their poor, wooden mark.[Learn Kunai, Shuriken, Improvised Weapons]
A few senbon needles were sent at the tree as a bit of an afterthought. Then, like a good citizen, Kagerou picked up what she threw away, reeling them in with wires she had attached beforehand, and stashed it safely in the hidden pockets of her clothes. Seeing that Toso had reached that point in the training where he'd focused himself into silence, Kagerou chose to occupy herself with further basic training. She pulled out a metal fan hidden underneath her obi and gave it a few experimental swings. After the fan, Kageoru's training somehow got weirder. First, it was a pair of chopsticks. Then as she put those away and things began to look like they were going to return to normal, she struck at the ground without warning after a few seconds of contemplation, creating a small crater about a foot wide in any direction. Kagerou just barely caught on to Toso leaving while she was shaking off her hand and staring at the dent in the ground she had made. She had felt from Toso not too long ago a strong determination to destroy whatever was in front of him, a determination she had at the time associated with simply being in the flow of training, that him suddenly was close to the last thing she expected. "Ah!" she called out in surprise to see him go so suddenly, "Wait wait!".If Toso thought he was going to be able to leave without Kagerou trying to help him, then he would have been very wrong.
Once he stopped and once she caught up, Kagerou would ask, after a moment of thought, "Have you talked with the twin Raikages yet?". A vague, open-ended question to be sure, but was the intent as she watched intently for any reactions from Toso. She had seen, as she turned to stop Toso, the jagged scars in the ground created by the scythe. Their depth was impressive and their lines clean, but there was something about the amount of destruction done by the scythe that seemed out of place, especially when combined with the destructive intent she had felt earlier and the thoughts she had picked up from Toso even earlier than that. Perhaps, instead of being engrossed in his training, the aura Toso had given off earlier had been something closer to his heart. Either way, this was something Kagerou had wanted to ask about anyways.

From the Academy Yuno made her way to the dojo to train in the more physical arts. She needed practice in hand to hand combat. So it was that she found herself an instructor to train with. They started off slow with some basic stretching and warm ups before getting into the real meat of it. First up was the "softer" side of hand to hand combat. Grapples, Throws, and parries. Yuno caught on quickly since she put a lot of effort into learning. The burning childish desire for revenge against Kenshin drove her on even as she started to breath heavy and exude sweat. [1] Following that work they moved on to the "hard" side of hand to hand combat. Punches, kicks, and other direct strikes. Yuno didn't like the training nearly as much as the "soft" side of it but she needed to learn the basics before she could learn to fight how she wanted. Eventually she found herself to be exhausted and the training was over. [1]
After her training Yuno hit the locker rooms to take a shower and clean up. Her thoughts were racing even as she felt the hot water hit her skin. She was making good progress but if she was going to amass power like Kenshin and her father she needed something more. What that was she couldn't say. It frustrated her deeply. Letting her hair dip into the water she let the dye run from it. Slowly her natural green emerged from underneath the pink, white, and brown. The least she could do was get serious. She'd clearly indulged too much on simple aesthetics instead of spending her time improving. In retrospect her fight with that other ninja was proof of that. She wouldn't have been able to kill him and part of her knew it even as she wanted to deny it. She sighed heavily before removing the contacts from her eyes and letting them get washed down the drain. After exiting the shower she stared into a mirror and allowed her mother's emerald eyes to stare back at her. It was eeiry Moving back to where the lockers were she quickly gathered a new set of clothing with a frown. It was more form fitting than before and clung to her body tightly. Certainly more practical for fighting than her previous clothing was. At any rate her training was complete and now she needed to figure out something to do to pass the time until father returned home. [Exit]

The chunin arrived from CORE to the dojo to broaden her horizon. She wanted to increase her skillset with a different specialization and began so by commandearing a training dummy. A straw trainning dummy wouldn't be hazardous to brutally beat on with her fists. Unki was here to study the fundamentals and improve her ability to maintain stability, block, and strike all via solo practice. Her stamnia was strong and even after a succession of strikes the girl felt ready to continue going strong. [D/C]
She was eager to keep going. Eager to continue kicking, punching, moving and beating all sides she could. It seemed wise of her to study this particular regiment since the skillset was essential to using Sazanami to its finest. Rather than being able to just focus on one aspect of a technique she could add in the once missing pieces of certain Sazanami techniques. [A/B]
The ability to know how to sucessfully block the full extent of another's attack was required. It was unfortunate the straw dummy wasn't able to move on its down terms and fight back. When the time came to stop, Unki only felt more ready to keep going. The feeling was that magical sort of refreshing feel that came from physical activity which encouraged endless leaps to new figurative heights. The new style she was interested came to mind but she knew the key item to fully study the weapon style was currently not in her inventory. Detour.

This not only assists their ability to sneak up on people faster and quieter, but also helps when running from trackers.

Turning his head back to the beaten path ahead after having said something rather quietly to himself he increased his volume momentarily. "I suppose I should've said back already are 'they', instead my apologies." Unfortunately Toso's lack of tentacles made him as hard to read as ever. "I'll be sure to pay them a visit sooner or later. I'm certain they're already being swamped with welcome backs. The Captain is likely relieved...Ah, I should clean that up before I go now that I think about it." One of Toso's tentacles produced itself, he didn't so much as shift from his leaving position as the the thing wielded his brush whose head sunk into his coat for the moment like that of dipping into an ink well. As though akin to a mop, it swept over the gashes left by the scythe with a vibrant white. After a brief moment it was as though the earth was never rended. Suffice to say it was as though Toso was covering up what he'd left behind as oppose to doing so out of genuine concern but whose to say with the expressionless cephalopod of a man. Everything withdrew to its proper place, brushed sheathed, tentacle receded. Adjusting himself to begin moving again. He'd leave off on the following notes...but...he did turn around to look at Kagerou again, while it seemed earlier he had been avoiding looking at her. "Perhaps we can speak to one another again in a place that does not carry the scent of sweat with it bloop. Ah, not saying that your sweat would be an unpleasant scent bloop. Ah, or saying that I am picking up the scent of your sweat bloop. Ah, but if I were I don't think it would be all that offensive perhaps it would be pleasant bloop. Ah, that is to say I'm not into the scent of a female's sweat bloop. Ah, but I suppose that was already implied earlier bloop. Hmm, I best get going. Do take care bloop." He'd bow implying his departure. It was odd to hear someone say things that would have typically been announced in a flustered state. One couldn't help but think about someone prone to creating an awkward air and floundering with their sentences in the place where Toso stood. While their was no floundering and while each sentence was spoken clearly, concisely, and monotonously, it did nothing to making it any less awkward. Well maybe for Kagerou, Toso carried a look about him that appeared all was normal and well and that was carried throughout his leaving. Aside from a tentacle that peeked out from his collar that bore a heavy red to its normally pale flesh colored hue.

This particular section of the training dojo had no one but Kagerou and Toso occupying it. At most, there was a light breeze that caused the tangled vines and thick leaves of the nearby banyan tree to rustle against each other.
In more direct terms. Kagerou heard everything Toso said. Everything.
However, to describe the gyuuki as imprisoned wasn't wrong in and of itself. In fact, in a manner of speaking, it was completely right. As Toso's face, as per usual, lacked any meaningful expressions, it was difficult to gauge what feelings the statement held beneath its surface. His monotone voice and the monochromatic color scheme of his body as a general whole reminded Kagerou of the surface of the lake the Gyuuki resided in before it was broken apart by the ensuing fight.
Kagerou was given no further hints to Toso's attitude towards the imprisonment of Gyuuki. In fact, if anything, he appeared to be trying to lead the conversation as far away from it as possible. Kagerou had to admit, it was working. His method of cleaning up the damage he had done to the training grounds certainly perked her interest, and his sudden talk about scents made her feel as awkward as one usually would feel about not just the rather random topic of whether or not sweat smelled pleasant but also the long-winded, excuse-filled, and yet still completely dull delivery of it.
How strange, though. At the beginning of it all, it appeared that Toso was inviting Kagerou to continue their conversation in another place, but the by the end, he seemed to imply that he wished to leave her immediately.
When Kagerou saw the flushed pink tentacle sticking out of the back of Toso's clothes, everything snapped into place. "Ahhhh," she vocalized her thoughts as she trotted after Toso, "I see, so what you said just now was embarrassing for you, which is why you changed from being okay with talking to me to wanting to leave all of a sudden?". Again, if Toso thought that he was going to shake Kagerou off so easily, then he was wrong.
He didn't want to talk about the Gyuuki? Okay, that was fine. That was a topic that seemed to touch on something rather sensitive and close to home, possibly close to some of the most fundamental beliefs he had been taught since a young age. Religion, as Kagerou was taught, was a powerful tool to use to manipulate a target's emotions. That was just how important it was.
However, there was still plenty else she could talk about with Toso, and one thing she needed to talk about, which she disguised as just one of the many things that she could have talked about in the interests of getting to know him better. When she finally caught up to Toso, she playfully pulled at that blushing tentacle, letting him know, "Ne ne, Toso, I know it probably weirds out others, but don't be afraid to pull out your tentacles when talking to me. It's actually super convenient to be able to see what you're feeling since, you know, I'm not some superwoman who can hear any of your emotions in that single pitch voice of yours."
Having invited him to a method of relaying his emotions that Toso hopefully wouldn't mind, Kagerou casually slid over to walk besides Toso and looked at the training ninjas they passed on their way out of the dojo. She saw a girl with twin tails working her way around some sort of bladed weapon, a tanto if Kagerou wasn't mistaken. She, the girl with twintails, nearly stabbed her eye out with the weapon, but she appeared to be the cautious, or at least thoughtful, sort. Seeing her pause to consider her mistakes, Kagerou simply watched quietly as she leisurely passed by.
In the meantime, Kagerou asked as nonchalantly as she could, "Oh yeah. You asked about the puppeteer, earlier? Did you mean the guy that you practically cornered at the gates? Was called a shadow? Whyyyyy? Are you maybe interested in him? I didn't know you had a thing for cat ears on guys." She gave Toso a "knowing" side-eye and a cheeky grin. Her voice teased, but it was also obvious that Kagerou didn't seriously think that Toso was seriously interested.
When Kagerou returned to looking around the dojo, she included a glance behind her to see how the child was doing (there were no screams, so that was a good thing). The glance caught the child's wind-up of her attempt of the technique following the one that nearly cleared out her eye. Vaguely interested, Kagerou paused in walking long enough to turn around and see the amateur movements of the beginner nin, rough movements that nonetheless landed in a solid hit. A promising display, one that elicited from Kagerou a supportive shout, "Good job!".
When she turned around, Toso had better not be trying to escape because if he was, then she was going to chase after him and pester a reply about Shadow from him. Actually, even if he was waiting for her, she would have still pestered a reply about Shadow from him.

"Bloaaah." Followed by the man turning around and readjusting his glasses. Though it was one of the most bland expressions of surprise to have ever been uttered. His face remained the same as Kagerou made the bold claim of him having been embarrassed. Yes...that was it embarrassed. He'd agree with her in full. "Yes, quite embarrassing bloop. Subjects such as those, are certainly not so easily discussed bloop." The tentacle however, as it recoiled rather than ease out of its shade continued to grow red. Some might say it was redder? It pulsated once before it withdrew. There was also something off about what the squid had just said. Kagerou would have to look back and try to recall their first meeting to find out what.
"It's not so much as I'm afraid to, some prefer not to wear their feelings on their shoulders too much in public. same." He readjusted his glasses again, though his face and voice stayed the same a harsher presence seemed to come off the squid when he said those words, and if Kagerou was keeping notes it may have been beneficial to take note of the sudden replacement of bloop in his vernacular with...shark? Had he done this before? Either way he'd respond to Kagerou's curiosity. The girl seemed to want something from him and so long as he complied he may find some leeway to leave. After all that was the purpose of a shinobi. Compliance.
"Ah, Shadow is his name then, I'd tried to remember. I think I made it quite apparent I was interested in him, same. If my speculations that he's an artist are correct that is, and as far as cat ears are concerned I'd much prefer them on women, same." He wouldn't delve too deep into his interest in shadow or the fact what being an artist had anything to do with that interest. His voice and demeanor never changing, but his choice of words, different, less formal? As Kagerou was distracted by someone else for the moment. Almost snake like Toso used this opportunity to make the assumption that the answer would be satisfying enough for Kagerou and began a slooooow slide opposite of her direction.

Back! Great! Unki was ready to continue with her shiny new set of steel tonfa in her arms as she returned to the dojo. The girl hurried to locate adequate space for trying out her knew weapons. She took a hold on both handles of her tonfa and from there, ideally, took a slow start. The last thing Unki wanted was to end up going to quickly with her inexperience and end up throwing one her weapons astray.
Unki read over the basics of Tanisoko to review the first three techniques. Fighting with a tonfa was a mix of punching and twirling sticks. The forehead of the weapon is like an extension of one's punch. A brute jab with a pole powered directly by the pack in the user's punch. With more practice one would be able to twirl and swing the body just by allowing the grip to roll in one's hand and strikes with the body and rear head would be possible. [form study]
The first technique was "fighting stance" and executed by standing on the non-dominant side of the user's body when facing the opponent, which was an unfortunate target dummy again, and raise the weapon at an angle nearing shoulder height. The simplicity of fighting stance led Unki into a blocking and countering maneuver that only required a single stick to block. One to block. One to strike. Proper usage of the tonfa should result in effective close quarter combat that would bruise and batter where a blade would cut. Unki again practiced the block and counter trick and finished up with her attempt to switch to a second blocking stance. Block! Strike! She then tried to swing the pair outward and then cross them. Three thus far. The movements felt a little different than just swinging around a short sword and should take a bit of practice to get used to the "swing" of things.

Entertainment aside, however, she withdrew upon seeing that she appeared to be bothering him, giving him some space and sliding her hands into her sleeves so that he would not need to worry about her invading his personal space any more than she had already. In that same sense, Kagerou also said nothing more on the supposedly embarrassing subject. To begin with, ather than an interest in the subject of sweat smelling good and whatnot, she held more interest in how bringing it up had given her a clearer understanding of how to read Toso.
Of course, as part of observing Toso, perceptive as she was, she did notice that something was off. That feeling was only made strong when she heard the change in Toso's choice to change the inflection he chose to end his sentences with. From the almost endearing bloop to the rougher same. It was strange that the squid chose to speak like a shark, but Kagerou had an inkling, one could say, about what the change in inflections meant.
"Are you in a bad mood or..." Kagerou thought to tackle her questions directly and bluntly, but when she turned to finish her question, she saw that the squid man had already started sliding away, "Well, you definitely want to be gone." She sighed, defeatedly smiling. Well, just in case he was in a bad mood (or if he was in a rush; his continued attempts to leave without her could imply both), Kagerou relinquished with a lilting, "Geez fine~ Go ahead, I won't hold you any longer." She had wanted to say one last thing in the hopes that it would bring one more person to Shadow's side, but now didn't seem the time for that either. For now, she would just need to be content with knowing that there was someone who could become a friend, and everyone beyond the fourth wall knew that Shadow could use more of those.
Looking across the field while Toso did the electric boogaloo away, Kagerou saw that there were more people training. It seemed that, as the day progressed, more shinobi were coming to train at the dojo grounds. If it was like this, Kagerou was sure that the cute girl with pigtails would definitely find someone to help her train. Personally, Kagerou would much rather help her than do what she was going to do now, which was to make the dreary trip to the no doubt crowded kage's office and wait who knows how long there. However, she had stalled long enough. Any longer and there was the slim chance she'll be seen as a later straggler. How embarrassing would that be?

tabToso would take a page from Yuno's book, opting to hit the nearby shower rooms himself. However, as distraught as he seemingly was on top of steam fogging his glasses he entered the females shower room instead. For the time being it was empty. He'd shed his trademark outfit of a massive coat and everything else in one of the baskets keeping only his glasses which was in a sense counterproductive as they remained constantly fogged but he didn't seem to have the incentive to want to change them, here he could have a moment to himself. Toso was indeed upset, but it wasn't Kagerou that had bothered him. Reminded of the kage duo, and the part he played in...'his' capture. The water ran down his long hair straightening it sloppily making him seemingly appear feminine from a distance but to anyone who got closer through the steam they'd see the toned body of a male bukijutsu user. He wouldn't say anything reflecting one all the times he'd fought. How often did people die in the process. Recalling how he'd opt for quick and clean blunt force knockouts and capture over casualties. [Moderate Combo, Wheelbarrow Kick, Formless Wire: D-B {Remembered}] He'd strike the wall with his fist drawing an attention to himself to anyone who may have just entered the shower room with him.
tabThe things that nagged at him, and the thing nagged at him the most. Stripping away someones or in this case some being's freedom, that he had a part in something such as that, contrary to his religious beliefs being believed the root of his troubles, this is what angered him. Being a creature of wanderlust himself the frustration brought by knowingly taking away a creatures ability to live for itself was...a sin. Yes, Kagerou, was that her name? She was only trying to comfort and understand him, but what would she know of him? These last three years living a sham of marriage to live up to expectations, putting aside his own sense of beliefs to live up to expectations, taking innumerable lives to LIVE UP TO EXPECTATIONS. True perhaps all nin knew of the last dilemma and perhaps the second as Kenshin came to mind...but that did not make it all the easier to swallow. Taking a deep breathe Toso would attempt to calm himself, despite his face looking calm already, but reminiscing on his culinary career and how being a shinobi aided in it. tabThe second thing that bothered him seemingly would be of recent events. He had never had much difficulty killing people, or so it always seemed. Though it was something he did not enjoy doing as of recently...at least not anymore? Perhaps only recently had it occurred to him with the possible impersonator roaming about indiscriminately killing people that the weight of death started to accumulate. It was this or perhaps whats worse that bothered him, that there was no impersonator and that was indeed himself relishing in the pain and death of other human beings. While he did find the misfortune of others humorous, he never though himself the sadist...but then again could others keep a face as he did in most situations? Thus a flash of sadism enveloped his thoughts, it wouldn't be the first time. An image of the Toso the grey grim reaper played out in his head, a sinister laugh replaced with..er sinister bloops and rolling heads. He certainly was capable as these thought extended to tormenting. [Formless Scythe D-A, Formless Whip D {Remembered}]
tabDecapitations turned to beatings, turned to whippings in the carnival of death that played out in Tosokurui's head. Then with a sudden increase in water temperature likely from someone who had also begun to use the shower room brought him back to reality. Whoever they were had yet to notice, or rather had yet to care about his presence. It was then in this now, that Toso thought again and began to recollect on these thoughts. He then immediately felt a sense of guilt for all the imaginary lives he made bow to his squid tyranny, ah, but he guessed everyone's had a power fantasy now and then. In some cases, everyone's had a degenerate fantasy as well. All things considered, Toso attempted to have one...but it didn't really work. Despite his penchant for groping and being handsy at times when it came to actual sexual experience he had none nor cared to have any, instead the thoughts devolved or maybe evolved in imagining having a long rod and hitting things with it proficiently like he did once years ago which then extended to spraying senbon imaginatively from its tip.
