Zero the Crimson

That's what it seems like...unless he suddenly awakened this power from being in the human world. (which seems unlikely)

True.

But then it makes me wonder why. There's would be no reason too unless at the time he was being arrogant and didn't think he needed his full power which resulted in him losing and needing to escape.

I just like that trait in protagonist characters when their words hurt more then their fists.

That's possible and it would explain how that all came to be.

Same here, which is why I love the "Certain Magical Index" series and it's side stories..though to a somewhat lesser extent.

But from what I've seen, his actions have never been malevolent. For what Maou does is strictly for self-defense. So is it a possibility that he didn't want to harm Amelia either?

I've heard alot about the anime/manga. Can you tell me about it?

That is possible. It could be that his fight with the hero at the beginning was initially an attempt to reach a stalemate and force her to retreat.

That's a little tricky given the general summary of the series covers the first arc, which is around the first 5-6 episodes, but I can take a crack at it.

The story takes place in a world where science has given way for people to manifest psychic powers and those who have these powers are called Espers.
The area the story itself is in is a technologically advanced place known as Academy City, which is as it's name implies an academic city. with the purpose of raising/teaching Espers.

-A Certain Magical Index
Our main character is an unlucky boy named Toma Kamijou who has a mysterious power in his right hand that allows him to negate the effects of other Esper powers. One day he meets a young nun on his balcony named Index who is on the run from a secret magical sect that is after the 103,000 grimoires she has in her brain.

-A Certain Scientific Railgun
A Spinoff of Index, this story follows the third strongest Esper in Academy City, a girl by the name of Mikoto Misaka and her adventures during the events of the the main story.

Overall, the series comprises of 4 manga, 2 anime, and a movie, as well as 36 Light Novels.

Not to mention he had plenty of opportunities to get rid of her when they were in our world.

I just recently tried reading the wiki and my brain melted from how much information there was.

Oh yeah, quite a number of them there.

Yeah, I'd recommend avoiding that until you've actually watched/read a fair portion of the series. It's really easy to get lost otherwise.

But it was really awesome to see how Maou was such a stand up guy. Even taking care of hero when she needed it.

Well from what I gathered, science and magic don't get along in their world.

Yep, quite the "demon" lord, eh?

For the most part, yeah. There are circumstances for it, but overall it's just kinda a matter of differences.

Yep. It really makes you wonder how this war was sparked in the first place.

Ehh, stuff like that always happens.

That it does, I mean they never actually cover it in detail so we're only left to guess what happened. I mean, we know that due to the demon's invasion/conquering of the land Emi's father was killed, but beyond that they really don't give us a whole lot to go on.

True, but there is a decent reason behind the general purpose of them not getting along. And then after that it's basically religious matters...in a sense.

But with how Maou phrased it, it seemed it was the humans who had started it.

Ugh, well no offense to religion but it always seems to cause more problems then solutions.

True...
So from what we can gather, the humans started something against the monsters and demons, Maou and his forces retaliated and in the process killed Emi's dad which lead to her becoming the hero and leading the attack on Maou's fortress after "killing" 3 of his 4 generals.

That's probably the most accurate statement in the history of everything.

Home, Sweet Home! Glad to see the place hasn't been completely dead in my absence. Though not overly active either...which is actually pretty normal.....I think..
