Hello there, I'm a new person. My name is Starkiller657, but most people call me Star for short, so feel free to refer to me as that. I'm not entirely sure what I should say other than greetings and I look forward to rping with all of you. ^_^ I'm not too bad a role-player (I'd like to think) and I plan to be an Author one day, so hopefully my writing skills don't make you all want to begin projectile vomiting. Otherwise I'll just live under the overpass for my career instead. XD Anyway it's nice to meet you all! If you want to ask me anything at all feel free to, I'm a nice enough person. Most of the time. >: D

Starkiller657

Welcome, welcome~!

I've been talking to you in PM's but now that I see you have intro'd yourself, I feel like I should do so as well. lol!

My username is (obviously) Haruhi_Fujioka_08, but you may call me either Haruhi, Haru, or Nikki. I will respond to any of those.

Also feel free to call me "God" >=D You'd be surprised by the amount of people who do.

I have been roleplaying since late 2000. That's about 13 years of roleplaying! =O Also, please don't feel discouraged or intimidated by my posts once posting starts... they tend to get a bit long sometimes. Heh~

In my years of roleplaying, I have hosted or co-hosted many roleplays. They vary from Series-related to completely original ideas of mine. I have a sort of track record for being able to keep a roleplay going for quite a long time.

For example, I used to have an Ouran rp. For those of you who don't know, Ouran is a school-based show... and I highly recommend you watch it. Anyway~~ Most Ouran rp's only last about a week or two. Seriously. Mine lasted so long, we started it on June 5th and it finally died on June 6th... the following year[2012-2013] (The in-roleplay dates started in August and it ended in February the following rp year).

I also have a reputation for being able to plan and plot with the best of them. xD I once had a Murder Mystery plot in a rp of mine and I not only plotted out every murder, but the clues and hints scattered around the mansion for everyone to find. Every detail fit together like a puzzle and it kept everyone involved. The people in that rp with me are still asking me to make another one. Heh~

I have all the confidence in the world that this guild will last as well. =] This is probably my biggest undertaking yet... but with everyone's help, I'm sure we will not only be together for a long while, but we'll enjoy every bit of it! ;D

As I have told all of you before, I am more than willing to answer any and all questions you may have for me; Guild-related or not. Don't feel shy or intimidated to talk to me about stuff. xD It's what I'm here for, after all~

gaia_star Hm... maybe I should introduce myself too, though being the mysterious vice captain of the guild who speaks very little sounds cooler. lol

gaia_diamond So yeah, yo! I'm Misuzu Kagamine, formally Sora Tsukiko, formerly Kaida Leoma. I can't believe I remembered my other usernames since it's been years. I think I've only changed my name twice between the years of 2006 and 2009 and it's been Misuzu Kagamine ever since. Little factoid about my current user name: It's a combination of my favorite character from Air, Misuzu Kamio, and the Kagamine twins of vocaloid fame.

gaia_diamond Lets see... for role-playing experience... didn't really have any before Gaia though I did and still do write stories. I've written fan-fiction but that's a thing of the past ranging from Digimon to Harry Potter to Fruits Basket to Ouran(it was mostly Kyoya fan-fiction). You'll never find any of those online though since it's stuff I don't show people and it's all written on paper. Except for the Ouran stuff. That was on one of my previous laptops... before the hard drive died on me. So that's lost forever.

gaia_diamond So yeah, for actual role-playing; I've participated in and created my own between the years of 2007 and 2009 then stopped since it bothers me at how fast RPs die due to the lack of creative posts from people and people getting bored, which kinda go hand in hand. Can't keep people interested if the posts are boring. I kinda just got out of RP retirement recently in August and thought I'd give it another shot.

gaia_diamond Hmm... one of the things I like to do the most is create my own characters from scratch pretty much, meaning I like to draw what my characters look like. For me it makes it feel personal and I can connect better to that character since I've had to think of how their personality reflects in their appearance and vice versa.

gaia_gaiagold Sometimes on Gaia I like to open up an Art Shop where I'll draw pretty much anything character related like avatars, OC's, Fan Art even, for Gaia Gold of course. I think one of the biggest challenges of opening an Art Shop is re-figuring out prices due to the horrible inflation occurring on Gaia with the introduction of Gaia Cash and its items. It wasn't common back in the day for items to reach the millions in the marketplace unless they were the very first monthly collectables. Times sure have changed. lol

gaia_star I think that's just about it. You can PM me as well if you have questions or just to say hi.

gaia_crown woooo! being fancy~

At the start, everyone will have a sword and then later or even sooner when you have enough COL you can purchase a different weapons.

The weapons will each have their own stats that you can customize with stat points you obtain from leveling. We're gonna have a system that would require you to go to a shop to purchase levels with the EXP you've earned. I believe it would be the same with sword art skills and passive skills. But yeah, when you've purchased your level you will get some stat points to play around with and add them to your armor, weapon, or even directly to your HP.

Hm.. let's see. I think Haruhi posted a little tidbit about it on another page...

Haruhi_Fujioka_08
1] Fighting Systems - The fighting system will be a series of dice rolls. Once we get closer to the opening, I will open up a Dice Rolling thread to keep the IC threads less cluttered with dice. The fighting system is where most of the math in the guild will come to play but, in my mind, it's all relatively simple. Of course, I know not everyone is good at math... so if anyone has trouble with it, all they need to do is let me know and I will do it for them and try to help explain it so they will be able to do it on their own as well.

The fighting system math will consist of two different formulas. The Attack formula and the Defense formula. Obviously, these will be used for when you attack and when you defend. All stats will be a combined total of your natural stats and the ones your armor and weapons provide.

When attacking, you will roll two 20-sided die. The first one will determine if you hit and the second one will determine the damage you dealt. To determine if you hit or not, you must get a total score of 12 or higher. This will be determined by the number you roll which will be added to your accuracy. Your opponents Evasion is then subtracted from this total. The formula for this in the end will look like:

(Dice Roll + ACC) - Enemy EVA = If you hit.

For example. Let's say you rolled a 7, your ACC is 9, and you're fighting a monster with 3 EVA. You would take the 7, add it to your ACC of 9 to get 16, and then subtract the enemies EVA of 3 to get a grand total of 13. Since this number is above 12, you have successfully hit the opponent.

Now, let's say that your roll was not a 7. Let's say you rolled a 20. As long as the formula still works out to be above a 12, you have successfully landed a Critical Hit. I will explain more about that later. Of course, the exact opposite can be said about if you roll a 1, which will be considered a Critical Fail.

Now, the second 20-sided-dice determines how much damage you have dealt. You would take this number, multiply it by your natural level, add your ATK stat and then subtract your enemies defense. In formula form, this will look like:

(Second Dice Roll x Character Level) + Attack - Enemy Defense = Damage Dealt

For example: You rolled a 12. You are level 5. Your attack stat is 7 and the enemies defense is 4.

You would take your roll of 12, multiply it by your level to get 60. You would then add your attack stat of 7 to get 67 and subtract the enemies defense of 4 to get a grand total of 63. This means you have dealt 63 damage to the enemy.

If you are controlling the monster you are fighting, you would also have to roll for them. Of course, the rolls would obviously be reversed. If you want, you can have multiple attacks back and forth in the same post, but in the Dice Rolling Thread, you would simply roll the dice all at once and specify which dice are for which side. For instance: "The first two are me, second two are the boar." etc.

Now, if you rolled a natural 20 for your first dice roll and managed to hit, you would take your "Damage Dealt" total and multiply it by 2. If you rolled a natural 1 and still managed to hit somehow, then you would take that "Damage Dealt" total and divide it by 2.

Of course, in the instances where either Misuzu or myself are playing the monsters, we will take care of the monsters rolls and such.

Now, when a monster is killed, naturally you will be given loot as well as experience. Loot will be listed for each monster and you will be able to randomly receive these rewards with the use of the random number generator. The numbers you generate between, however, will be determined by the amount of drops an enemy has.

Experience will be gained as such:

(Level of Monster / Your Level)x100 = Experience Gained

Of course, if you are in a party, this experience will be lower since the job was much easier:

(Level of Monster/Your Level)x100
xxxxAmount of Party Members

Simply put, you would take the monsters level and divide it by your own. That total you would then multiply by 100. If traveling in a party/raid, you would take this total and divide it by the amount of people in your party.

For instance. You are a level 3 fighter and you are fighting a level 6 monster. You just defeated it, so you would divide 6 by 3 to get 2 and multiply it by 100 to get 200. You have just gained 200 experience.

Now, lets say you are still level 3. You just killed a level 6 monster, but you had two other people in your party. One of them was level 6 and the other was level 1.

Level 3 guy would gain 67 EXP (round up when necessary)
Level 6 guy would gain 33 EXP
Level 1 guy would gain 200 EXP

This is all using the same formula.

However, Boss monsters do not have levels. Since they can only be fought and defeated once, their EXP will be pre-determined.

2] Leveling up - Leveling up will be done a bit differently than in other guilds. This is mostly because even if I give you a set amount of EXP you need to obtain in order to level, it will be difficult for me to monitor who is following my guideline and who is leveling all 'willy-nilly'. So, I have turned EXP in to a currency. This will also prevent people from leveling in the middle of a battle. Basically, you will gain experience as you battle and when you return to any of the towns, there will be NPC shops specifically for leveling and skills. Some skills will take money along with your EXP. Basically, in order to level, you will 'purchase' your levels with the EXP you gain through fighting. This goes for character levels as well as Skill levels that require separate levels. Once a level is purchased, you will also be granted Skill Points and Stat Points that you will be able to divide up amongst your skills and stats. As for Sword Arts, these must be equipped and new Sword Arts will also be available from these shops. We will have pre-made ones but we will also have the option to create your own. You start out with 2 Sword Art equips slots and you get a new one every 5 levels. Sword Arts can be purchased from the NPC shops with experience and money. Creating Sword Arts are a bit more expensive, but depending on what your level is, you will be granted a certain amount of points that you will be able to divide up in to the different attributes of a Sword Art skill. This will allow you to customize your own moves and still have them adhere to the guidelines of the game. Of course, once you create a Sword Skill, it will then be available for purchase in the NPC shop for others to obtain.

Sometime soon we'll have the handbook and stuff typed out so you can view it there. Haruhi wanted me to draw some artwork to make the handbook all fancy but I was only able to get two drawings in before I had gotten sick with a cold. emotion_puke (okay, so I haven't actually been throwing up... but this is the closest they have for a sick emote.)

Heh, looks like Misuzu beat me to the punch, but yes: All players will start out with Training gear and a sword. From there, you will need to purchase new equipment or weapons with money [COL] you earn from killing monsters or from quests. However, you don't use the stat points you get from leveling to level your armor as Misuzu stated.... heh~

The armor you purchase has already preset stats. However, if you want to forge armor or purchase 'custom' armor, then you will get a certain amount of stat points for the armor that you will be able to divide amongst the stat slots for each piece. Of course, the amount of stat points you get will be dependent on what level the armor is. Same for the weapons.

As for the stats you gain from leveling, these stats will simply be placed towards your base stats. The stats you would have even if you had no armor or anything effecting your overall stat total. You will get 5 stat points to start out that you can put wherever you like. You get 5 more stat points with each level you purchase with your EXP.

So I know I already mentioned you will start out with a sword, however, the Town of Beginnings will have a NPC Weapons and Armor shop where you can buy weapons. The shop will have weapons like one-handed swords, shields, lances, maces, daggers, etc... More on that will be provided once the Handbook is completed and released to the public. =]

If they were to simply increase the stats of the armor when they level, there would be no real point to crafting new armor or buying new equipment. =]

Hey cool I started a trend. : D

And yes I get it, your intros were SO much better than mine. I see how it is. XD

In any case, I should probably ask this question before I decide who to make my character base. Am I allowed to make a lance & shield combo fighting style? Or will I have to use a one-handed sword if I want a shield? It's fine either way I just want my character to be a Tank and, while lances are my favorite weapon, just using a lance alone would probably be more of a DPS class. Lol.

Everyone will start out with just swords... but later on down the road, if you want to use a lance and a shield, you can. The only weapons that would not be able to be paired with a shield are the two-handed weapons but a lance can be easily adapted for either.

I was just wondering about the beast tamer system.
1.Can we start out with a beast, and if so can it be a custom beast?
2.Can beast evolve
3.Is there a limit to the total amount of beast a player posses?
