I go to Church when I can. But my Church(Eastlake) is in the Center of Salt Lake City, and it's a pain to get there. Plus, Social Anxiety Disorder = Not liking crowds of people.
@Ravynne - Not to pry...but has your Mom thought of Medication or Therapy? I have Depression and Anxiety disorders, and that sounds very familiar. Of course most of my stress was taken out on inanimate objects(did I mention I am very skilled at Carpentry and drywall?), but your Mom is hurting herself far more than she realizes, not to mention the obvious impacts of you and your Dad.
Also sorry to say, these are Genetic(Thanks, Dad!), so you may want to watch out for them yourself.

Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore - No she thinks she's normal and we're pieces of s**t...it's getting to the point where I want to move out, but I don't have a source of income so for the next few weeks I'm doing research to start up my own business of sorts so I can earn that income, and move out. freelance lover I like public worship as an accountability tool and as a means of fellowship, but even when I did attend church regularly, I always found it much more meaningful to not attend church weekly.
When I went every week, eventually it became something I felt I had to do, and it became so routine the spirituality got sucked out of it. I found it much more impacting to maybe skip a week or two and then go back. The message was always much more meaningful to me.
My douchey ex best friend chewed me out for this belief a few years ago, but I still maintain that, if that's how I worship, that's fine. I just always experience God so much more when it's not a routine. Of course, he and I had a lot of issues and in hindsight, he used Christianity as a means of manipulating me on several occasions, as we went to the same church. That drives me insane. Why do people think that their own way to spirituality is the only right way? We all have different ways that will best affect your spirituality. I mean, heck, for me, I feel more spiritual and happy when I got to church every week. But that doesn't mean it's the only way. Everyone should do what's best for them.

I know, I hate that, and I feel like I see it some much in mainstream Christianity. That belief is also a big reason of why I'm a religious pluralist. What if a person doesn't connect with God through Christianity, but does through Hinduism and Islam?
I definitely refer to him as my douchey ex best friend for a reason. That's probably a story for another time though sweatdrop

@Rai I'm sorry to hear about your situation with your mom. I hope she will someday seek the help she needs and I hope your able to get a business started soon so you can move out.
@freelance I know what you mean. I agree with Vio's sentiment.
I'm trying to cut some caffeine out of my system since it's been screwing up my weekends. Basically I drink about a lobby coffee pot amount of coffee each night and well when the weekend comes, I am crashing from lack of caffeine and can't enjoy my weekends cause I'm passing out asleep XD. So yeah, I've been so less focused and so moody too >.<.

`Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,' I said, `art sure no craven. Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore - Me too, Robbie. And Mil I know it's genetic because I've been having breakdowns, raising blood pressure, my heart going nuts, etc for the longest time. I know the first thing I do when I do move out is see a counselor. For now I'm going to look into deep breathing and meditation. A friend said that prayer can help and her mom is exactly like mine which is scary to say the least. So who knows.
Now I just have to sort through my friend's drama. Ugh it's getting confusing and I don't know what's what anymore. D: Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!' Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore - Good point. Though my friend, let's call her Steel, can be a little strict when it comes to meditation, she said that meditation can open gateways for demons once o.O
And no. It's my friend who was aching for his ex since she dumped him. I kinda sorta put myself in between a rock and a hard place with him and an ex friend.. This whole thing is confusing as hell, and I've tried wrapping my head around it. Blah. Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!' Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

There's a huge tradition of meditative prayers in Western Tradition. Hell the Eastern Orthodoxy works it into their Liturgy. As for opening up gateways for demons by meditating, I think that's a load of s**t. If you can't still your mind for at least a moment, while staying focused and aware, how can you hope to hear God or see the Light? It's like they are trying to kill all the Mystery out of Christianity. sad Well there's a place here to talk about it when you are ready to.
