December 19th
Shino: *Looks down at the crushed pinecone, then instantly loses interest. Shoves it away and sits back to yawn*
Albaine: *wanders out*
Evan: *follows by hopping in the snow*
Shino: *Smirks when she spots Albaine and Evan. Trots over to them, her tail swishing* Hey!
Albaine: *waves* Hello. How're you?
Evan: Hi! =D
Shino: Alright, curious about this Christmas thing everyone's talking about. What about you two?
Albaine: I'm alright.
Evan: I'm good. ^^
Albaine: *thinks* It's not too far from now. Less than a week.
Shino: I know *Grins and wiggles* I'm excited *Looks to Evan* Hey, got any cool powers yet?
Evan: I can spark a bit if I concentrate. =D I talked to another Pokémir and he was part electric, so he gave me a couple pointers. I'm not good at it yet though.
Albaine: *wonders how many powers Pokémir usually have*
Shino: You'll have to show me when you learn something really cool *Smirks*
Evan: You bet! =D
Albaine: I wonder what Christmas here is like. *guessing it'll be a bit crowded, and hopes that it won't result in some outfit change beyond something warmer*
Evan: What was it like where you came from?
Albaine: Lots and lots of decorations. There used to be singing too, though I never really listened to that much.
Shino: I don't know *Cocks her head* Maybe it'll just be something simple?
Albaine: Might be. It seemed to be more of a family and friends holiday than Halloween was, so I could see it being simple.
Evan: I just hope it's fun. ^^
Shino: I was hoping for excitement really.
Albaine: Just have to wait and see. *guessing that there will be a lot of namrah in the clearing to meet with friends/family for Christmas*
Evan: Think they'll be singing like where you came from? That'd be pretty cool. ^^
Shino: I think I'll be staying home for Christmas
Albaine: I'm not sure what I'll do. *thinking that Sara will probably boot him out into the clearing*
Evan: I might play outside for a while. ^^
Shino: In the snow?
Evan: *nods* Yeah, I like the snow. =D It should still be around then, right?
Albaine: Unless it suddenly gets warmer out, it should.
Shino: It should be. I think it's like some kind of unspoken law that there has to be snow for Christmas. Unless you're from the same place as my Daddi.
Albaine: It depends, though here there'll likely be snow.
Evan: Okay.
biggrin Where's your daddy from?
Albaine: Oh, I know Florida. It's a state in the United States.
Evan: The United States?
Albaine: It's a country where I'm from.
Shino: So you and my Dad are from the same place? That's kind of cool
Albaine: Well, almost the same place. I don't know if it's exactly the same.
Evan: *tilts his head*
Albaine: *explains* There's different version of the same planet, even with the same main places. I'm not sure how that works, but that's how it is. Or at least from what I've heard.
Albaine: *nods* Yep. I'm still not sure how they're formed though. *only knows about the parallel universes in his own dimension*
Evan: Sounds neat.
Shino: I wonder how confusing it gets for those that go from dimension to dimension.
Evan: Probably very confusing. @_@
Albaine: I've heard of some people who go around to other dimensions that are vastly different with the intent of just taking some person and tossing them into the world I'm from.
Shino: Sounds mean... and kind of fun. It'd be interesting to see their reactions and if they are able to adapt.
Albaine: *thinks that he could probably get an idea of how they felt* They were probably confused, and if they knew someone sent them there they'd probably feel a bit angry. If they couldn't make it back, or didn't want to go back they'd probably adapt, though depending on what society was like where they came from it might take a while.
Evan: How would they get back?
Albaine: Same way they got there?
Shino: *Nods* The one that put them there might be nice enough to take them back.
Evan: Oh, that'd be nice of them. ^^ And then they would have a story to tell when they got back. biggrin
Albaine: *wonders if the people there would believe the story*
Shino: *Nods* It'd be an adventure *Smirks*
Evan: Yeah! =D An adventure.
Albaine: *has nothing to add*
Shino: *Looks around, then leans over to whisper to Evan* Want to go on one?
Evan: *thinks and nods* Uh huh.
biggrin Albaine: *tilts his head a bit*
Shino: You have to ask your dad first *Nods*
Evan: *looks at Albaine* Can I go on an adventure?
Albaine: .... *thinks about that for a moment* ...sure, as long as you stay on the island and don't stay out too long. *wonders if he'll be able to come along, but figures that would interfere with some sort of individual play thing*
Evan: *smiles* Okay! =D
Shino: Great! *Strikes a pose* Lets find a portal to another world *Glances at Albaine* Just find it, not go through it.
Albaine: *nods* Have fun.
Evan: We will! ^^ *wiggles a bit, excited to go out on an adventure*
Shino: *Starts to trot away from Albaine* Where should we look first?
Albaine: *leans up against a tree and thinks about going home to grab a book to read while waiting*
Evan: *follows after Shino* Where should we look first?
biggrin Shino: *Laughs* Didn't I just ask you that? *Shakes her head* Lets go check in the woods. Portals are usually in dark places *Nods* So they can be disguised.
Evan: *looks a bit embarrassed, but gets over it quickly* That would make sense.
3nodding Would caves work too?
Shino: Yeah, especially a cave. Those can act as shelters for the travelers. *Nods*
Evan: I wonder how you make a portal. Permanent or just temporary. *looking around*
Shino: Probably through magic, though I remember watching a show where they made portals with potions *Pokes her head into a bush, only to have a bunch of snow fall on her head*
Evan: Magic? *thinks* Probably. *laughs a bit* You've got a hat of snow. =D
Shino: *Shakes her head to get the snow off* That crap is cold!
Evan: At least it's not as hard as ice. 'Cause then it'd hurt if it fell on you.
Shino: Yeah, that would hurt like hell *Winces at the thought, then her ears perk when she notices something shining up ahead* Hey, what's that?
Evan: *looks over, squinting to get a better look* I dunno...maybe we found a portal already? =D *starts walking toward it*
Shino: Well that was quick... if it was one *Slows to a stop as they draw closer to see that it's a mirror, half buried in the snow* Not a portal, that's for sure.
Evan: *pokes the mirror* Wasn't there a book or something where people could go through mirrors?
Shino:
Through the Looking Glass, aka,
Alice in Wonderland. Ever watched the movie?
Evan: Yeah, that one.
3nodding Umm... *thinks* I think I saw a bit of it one time. Is that the one with the playing cards?
Shino: *Nods* Yep, that's the one *Reaches over to pick up the mirror* Not exactly big enough for travel
Evan: *shakes his head* We'd have to shrink to get through there.
Shino: *Taps the glass with her paw* It's solid anyways *Looks around* Wonder if someone dropped it
Evan: Probably. =3 I bet they were confused the next time they needed it and couldn't find it.
Shino: Or maybe they left it out here on purpose. Could be cursed.
Evan: Cursed? O_O
Shino: *Nods* Haven't you ever heard of a cursed mirror?
Evan: *shakes his head* Uh uh.
Shino: Just stuff like, they could bring good luck, or show people stuff they don't want to see *Decides not to mention the stuff like "Bloody Mary"*
Evan: Ohhh...okay.
3nodding I wonder if that's why Dad doesn't really look at mirrors.
Shino: You should ask him *Looks around* What should we do with the mirror?
Evan: Do you think it's cursed? If it is we should probably hide it so it doesn't cure anyone...or would that curse us?
Shino: Don't know *Shrugs* I've already touched it, so I'd be cursed anyways.
Evan: Oh...well, let's go hide it then. *hopes Shino isn't cursed*
Shino: *Takes the mirror in her teeth* Read du way
Evan: *looks around* Hmmm...this way. *heads off towards the right*
Shino: *Follows Evan, trying not to drop the mirror*
Evan: *looks around as he continues on his way, and spots a small tunnel, likely an old rabbit's nest near the roots of a tree* How about here?
Shino: *Sets the mirror down* Are we sure that there's nothing living in there?
Evan: Hm, I'll go check. *crouches down and squeezes into the nest to make sure*
Shino: Be careful down there
Evan: I will! ^^ *continues crawling through the rabbit hole, wondering how far it leads*
Shino: *Peers into the whole* See anything?
Evan: It's kinda dark... *squints* ...? *picks up an object on the ground*
Shino: What? *Cocks her head as Evan goes quiet*
Evan: *puts the object down* I found something.
biggrin *picks it back up and starts to crawl back, heading backwards out of the rabbit hole*
Shino: *Steps back so Evan can get out* What is it?
Evan: *sets it down so he can look at it* Looks like a page out of a book.
Shino: I wonder what it was doing down there... *Brushes some of the dirt off the page to look it over*
Quote:
And certainly the glass was beginning to melt away, just like a bright silvery mist.
---& In another moment Alice was through the glass, and had jumped lightly down into the Looking-Glass room. THe very first thing she did was to look whether there was a fire in the fireplace, and she was quite pleased to find that there was a real one, and blazing away as bright ly as the one she had left behind. "So I shall be as warm here as I was in hte old room," thought Alice, "warmer in fact, because there'll be non one to scold me away from the fire. Oh, what fun it'll be, when they see me throught the glass in here, and can't get at me!"
Evan: *looks over the page* Alice? Like from Wonderland?
Shino: Looks like it *Smiles a little* I wonder why it was down there
Evan: Maybe the rabbits thought it'd be warm and comfy.
biggrin Or they could read.
Shino: I don't think rabbits can read, normal rabbits anyways... *Leans over to peer into the hole*
Evan: I don't think so either. Not unless somebody can teach them. *looks over the paragraph*
Shino: Can you read? *Continues to peer into the hole while wondering if perhaps it led to Wonderland*
Evan: A little, yeah. I'm still learning.
Shino: Books are fun, but I can never stay interested for long *Sighs* I wish I could fit in there, I'm curious now
Evan: It's pretty dark in there. I found that at the end, or at least I think it was the end. *wonders if a camera would work in the dark, not that they have one*
Shino: Maybe we should come back with a flashlight later?
Evan: Sounds like a plan!
biggrin I'm pretty sure there's a flashlight in the house.
Shino: For now, we should get you back to your dad... *Sticks the mirror in the snow by the hole* This will mark the spot
Evan: *nods* Got it. ^^ *starts heading back, following their tracks in the snow as assurance*
Shino: *Falls into step next to Evan*
Evan: *follows the tracks all the way to Albaine, parts ways with Shino, and tells his dad a bit about his adventures*
